Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Why do we always have a leaky defence whenever we take the lead. Regardless the scoreline we got to still stay tight defensively because winning a game begins with keeping a clean sheet so you could stay in the game. We've got to work on it as we could get hurt by a highly spirited team. We've got to fight from the zero minute till the final whistle.
Great performance today though.

I don't know why as Arsenal fans we do this Willy and I'm not digging at you but it's always a case of if we as a team or an individual player hasn't been flawless there is reason to complain.

Like I said I know you're not moaning but so many pick on so many trivial things when no team ever manages the perfect 10 in a game but unless we do its doom on the horizon.

Agree0 Disagree7

27 Aug 2016 20:22:34
It's not that

Mentally in their heads the game is won there would be a drop for sure, if you look at the goal it had about 2,000 rebounds .

If settle for that every week.

Agree4 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 20:51:12
What is needed after the break is for us to go on a run of 5 winning games that very importantly would include beating Chelsea, now that would be different but most importantly it would give everyone players fans a reason to think this season might just be different too.
Much like the win at city did a couple of seasons back.

Agree5 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 20:52:43
Agree with that Red,

I would take a 3-1 every day of the week.

I'm sure Man Utd supporters aren't moaning because they left it until 92 minute to score the winner.

Very happy today.
We still have players to come back, plus a couple of new arrivals.

Agree4 Disagree2

27 Aug 2016 22:07:14
Willy wasn't moaning, he was highlighting a valid point, not just today but often, it is something that is a major factor in why we underachieve. It all ways going to hold us back, its something the very top teams can do.

Agree6 Disagree6

27 Aug 2016 22:37:55
I'd love to see us go out andbeat teams by 4,5or 6 goals. On occasion it feels like we are capable and holding back for some reason.

Agree2 Disagree3

27 Aug 2016 22:40:40
I made it perfectly clear I didn't think Willy, he is one of the more positive posters, was moaning, but thank you Steve you have highlighted my point perfectly.

Some how I knew I could rely on you. πŸ˜€.

Maybe not dags, but they'll be moaning when they get charged from the fa.

Mgm thing is isn't it poor old hull who will get charged as well for not controlling the crowd.

Steve it was when Rashford scored, about 100 fans attempted to get on the pitch, and one of the stewards got punched, they crushed an advertising board where he was sat.

Mgm yes that's what I thought but I think hull will get a smacked arse as well.

Clean sheets home or away give that invincibility aura around a team. The harder it is or just as important seems, for a team to score against us. The more they worry about it.

We are probably half as good without Cazorla in our team. I like the little guy, one of my favorite Arsenal players ever :)

Believable4 Unbelievable0

27 Aug 2016 19:58:17
I complete agree with you man, should be Ramsay's spot but Santi is just plain better - sadly he's got 1-2 years best - we totally need him to challenge.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 20:04:21
We fell apart without him last season, we honestly looked like contenders with him.

Agree3 Disagree0

28 Aug 2016 00:59:19
Santi's one of our best players, can use both feet, and for a small guy does brilliant defensively.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2016 10:51:38
cazorla is very important for us especially when we play teams that press high but he is 32.we need him replaced because our game relies a lot on him. When we play ramsey in his position the opposition wins the ball in dangerous areas and then counter attack us. ramsey is a liability in that position but am afraid wenger would play ramsey in cazorla's position when he returns from injury.

(wish I had met you 20 years ago. lol)
Also who goes further in the champions league.
I'm up for that my old mucker.
Its great to see your positivity.
we have a few that moan on about every thing.
What a wonderfull life they must lead.

No idea if this is true Welshy but apparently If you had a Β£10 bet with a Spurs fan in 1995 that Arsenal would finish above them, and then went "double or nothing" every year since, you would've now won Β£10,485,760. πŸ˜‰.

Sturridge anyone, seems a little unhappy at Liverpool, and if perez is to be used as right winger still leaves us short of recognised strikers.

We seemed at bit naive at times in the second half always going for the counter and giving up the ball. Put us under uneccessary pressure as they had a lot of possession - shouldn't we be the composed ones, just asking?

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 23:10:45
Rob Holding was excellent. He can only get better. It's obvious Arsne likes him. Seems to have confidence beyond his years. People may laugh at this but I agree with the John Stones comparison. Β£2m he cost us - bargain.

27 Aug 2016 15:52:14
Team and bench looks quite good today - pace and power on pitch with plenty options on the bench.
With injuries to return plus two new signings - if we stay fit then we have a really good squad which should challenge from here on in.
If we add another striker as Perez may well play right wing - that would be the game changer.
Couple of big IFs but I am a positive chap

COYG - 3 up today at the halfway mark!

Serious question
No posts on today's game?
No posts on our champions league draw?
Has interest in our season already hit an all time low?
Has the clubs lack of ambition finally started to catch up with them?

Believable2 Unbelievable2

Sorry mate, we'll win 17-0 today, beat Man City in the final of the Champions league 4-1, Perez hatrick and Wenger will sign a new 10 year contract.

You clearly heard that here first and I can say with absolute certainty you won't hear it anywhere else.

I think your bang on G πŸ‘πŸ»

ive never felt like this before mate, I'm actually not arsed what happens this season or whether I watch us play or not.

I had such high hopes when we signed xhaka straight away, I was all excited and buzzing but now I just feel we're at an all time low and it's depressing n boring n repetitive. I'm actually bored of Arsenal now.

The club has a lot to answer for Je mate, its such a shame that what should be the excitement of a new season where fans of all clubs should be dreaming of what might be possible has been lost at Arsenal.
West Ham Everton Liverpool utd Chelsea City Leicester Spurs Bournemouth fans and more are full of what this season might hold in store for their club but with Arsenal there just is no buzz or sense of excitement simply because the impression is the club are just simply going through the motions once again.

I did bang a little post on here about the UCL draw literally minutes after it got announced mate!
It was relegated to the less popular 'other' posts page though, so don't worry, I've got you on that one!

As far as today's game goes, I'm a little nervous.
Both teams looking for their first win, the atmosphere amongst our fans could get incredibly toxic if we don't win this game and it won't be easy, hopefully Γ–zil will start today and Giroud too, which would give us a focal point up top at least.

A lot of people will still be talking about Lucas/ Mustafi today anyway and there's rumours one or both will be announced after today's game.
Personally, I think IF they are to be announced, it'll only be today if we win.
Losing/ drawing and then being like 'by the way, new signings! ' would be a mistake I think, it'd be a silver lining, but I think people would be too naffed off to appreciate them fully, so maybe Monday/ Tuesday!

I think overall, fans are fickle and the mood around the club is low at the moment, even with two potential signings (maybe more if we're lucky) people are disappointed in how the clubs has performed on and off the pitch, as always a win or two will change that right up.
We've got Chelsea soon too, so we need to get a bit of form going before meeting them.

I'm sure once we hit normal service (assuming we do) then there will be a bit more of an upbeat feel amongst fans!

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 12:21:58
I think you both sum it up very well. What's there to say about Arsenal that hasn't already been said thousands of times, and that's just on here. I lament about the good ole days on this site where we used to have real angry and personal debate over whether Wilshire or Monreal or Walcott or Arteta etc was good enough for Arsenal. Ahh, how I miss those good times. :)

Agree3 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 13:21:19
I mentioned it after going to the Liverpool game, that sense of apathy, that fans really have had enough of what seem to be missed opportunities and no discernible reason or reasons behind it.

I think I said about Klopp being good for us and in reality it's more often than not his personality, as daft as that sounds, that excites fan. Wenger now has the opposite effect.

We are 5 points behind, 2 games in and already playing catch up.

Really is the first time I've felt nothing to get excited about. It's shocking really for this fantastic club.

Agree1 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 13:28:43
Of course I jest because in honesty the page has denigrated into a massive moanathon

Understand why but I think it's now far more widespread among fans, they have simply had enough of failing to make good short comings, to act swiftly or take advantage of opportunities that could fall our way.

Despite getting through the stadium build we still appear to be standing still.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 13:54:42
Has it not occurred with a CB and CF coming it's gone quiet as people are trying to look back through things to find something to moan about.

I have never in my life known so many friends who are arsenal fans be so disheartened by what is going on at our club. It very sad and I really think its all very damaging. Many people know our "success" is also our problem, wenger and the way the club is run.

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 13:56:38
I'm same as you red dog and stoner. I understand the feeling but I'm not one for pissing and moaning about it! Don't see how it helps. But everyone deals with things in their own way!

Agree0 Disagree0

27 Aug 2016 08:30:55
Question? Do you really need a CF to win the Prem or is signing another wide forward a masterstroke?

Looks like Ox's career will be ruined just like Walcott's by a lack of game time in his best position.

A season of playing Sanchez up top where he can get battered by central defenders and be a spectator for 88 minutes will make sure Arsene doesn't have to break the wage structure. No way he will sign a new contract.

Look after the pennys and the pounds look after themselves. Wenger might be a master of failure but at least the bank balance will be healthy.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

27 Aug 2016 10:24:08
If you look at the hallmarks of sides that win the prem they have either a watertight defense or a striker that bags loads of goals. I know vardy wasn't the only reason the foxes won the league but it was one of the main factors.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed041's Note - there fitness was huge last season and won them loads of points.

27 Aug 2016 11:09:30
I don't think Perez will automatically start, from what I hear he isn't necessarily an improvement on giroud, just a different type of player. For me, ox should be starting most games and giroud Perez and Theo can fight it out for striker.

Sod the Champions League.
I get fed up with it every year.
Let's concentrate on the premier league until we can truly contend for this competition.
I know we can't avoid it. But every year it's like watching a re-run of the year before.
I suppose it's better than watching Eastenders or Coronation Street though or is it just as boring? .

But I've been told by people that do know about him that he is a poor signing for Arsenal. Can anybody or even better the Eds expand on this please.

Believable0 Unbelievable7

{Ed001's Note - all I know about him is that last year was the first time he stood out and the big question is whether he is a one season wonder or just raised his game. I should rephrase that, I don't know that, I have been told that. He was considered a journeyman prior to last season.}
