Agree Banbury very impressive just can’t see further than city or at a push Pool. Tonight was like two ex wives scrapping didn’t care who won COYG.

Spuds will challenge IMO, keeping the squad as one is a wise and shrewd move.

Looks like Jose is done at United, his trade mark of success is usually get bring success quickly get out, I could be wrong but I can't remember him turning things around at any club once they started to go wrong.
It seems once he loses the players and the fans he isn't able to win them back.
If he wants to save his job and possibly career he needs to change quickly.

the whole doom and gloom, we have no hope before the season even started was just bizarre! even if you believe that as a manager you've surely got to try and hide it from the suporters and players so there's at least positivity and belief. he put them all on a downer when there was no real need to, they finished second, if he was up beat during pre season the fans would probably all be behind him and the players more confident and motivated.

I'm not sure if he's had enough and wants out like he did at Chelsea and is trying to prevok thd club into sacking him or if he has simply lost his way completely.
He certainly didn't come back to the UK as the same person who left it that is for sure.

A bit like wenger, maureens code has been cracked. Football is moving on and peoples time as a force gets less. He is just a sideshow now.

He was applauding the 200 or so supporters that stayed till the end of the game. Did you notice him pick up a jersey and tuck it under his arm, and continue applauding. I wonder if someone threw it at him. I hope they don't fire him.

We are a zillion miles away from spuds, they look excellent, very well organised and look to have several match winners.

We've been a zillion miles away from them for a while now mate, people talk about signings and money but they haven't bought anyone and how much has Poch spent in his 3 seasons?
Ok I know people will immediately go on the defensive and demand to know WHAT HAVE THEY WON?
But even though neither Poch or Klopp have won anything they have turned 2 failing big clubs around quickly and brilliantly and if Dick can match them both invented his first 2 seasons I won't be complaining because they may not have won anything but they are always competive whether it's home or away v City Chelsea or Untied.

No argument from me, Lucas Moura was class. Quality 3rd goal. One down side is that disaster waiting to happen Serge Aurier, jeez he is bad.

Hopefully it won’t be the end of Mourinho because he is comedy gold.

I still can’t get my head around Pogba, I don’t know how many games I’ve watched him play but I’ve yet to see what the fuss was about him. Utter pony.

27 Aug 2018 22:31:40
I agree Stoner, I’ve never rated Pogba, the PL is too quick for him.

They have to keep maureen, please. he's got to stop for a couple of seasons, i hope. Lol
Maureen is the new wenger.

if emery manages to improve us as much as poch and klopp have over 3 or 4 years, but doesn't win any thing do you think he will get as much appreciation as they have or will our fans demand more having had recent FA cup success under wenger?

It is early days and CL and International football can have a massive effect on the clubs involved, stretching their squads to the limit.
My initial thoughts are that Man City and Liverpool look very strong, whilst the Toot's squad lacks the same depth as their's.
Man U are in disarray.
Chelsea and Arsenal have new managers, but Chelsea have settled in better and have a stronger squad.

So:
PL: Liverpool or Man City
Top four, in order of favourites: Toot, Chelsea, Man U, Arsenal
Outsiders: Everton.

I think it will be a split Eden mate, I think most would simply enjoy and appreciate being involved again and going head to head with city Liverpool Spurs Chelsea United on as equals even if we had to accept coming top was tougher than ever, getting to a champions league final and beating quality opposition along the way for most would be a welcome step forward.
Of course there would be the Arsene fans who would convienttly forget we went 10 years with no trophy under Arsene and who would harp on about 3/ 4 fa cup wins while dismissing the regular humiliations at Swansea Southampton not the mention City Utd Liverpool Chelsea as one offs.
Personally I'd swap our last 4 seasons and 3 fa cup wins for Liverpools last 4 seasons and 3 cup final defeats to be where they are now.
For me it's about competing on a week to week basis not simply getting it together for a cup run while sitting on the outside looking in for the rest of the season.

I found it so puzzling, that we were consistently good in the FA cup, but our league form kept diminishing. Winning 3 out of 4, something was right with our attitude when playing in the FA Cup, why was it so different to when we played in the league?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2018 10:43:41
There is a reason why a team can't challenge in the league, the same applies for, why a team can't win trophies. The coaches job is to sort that out. But first and foremost we must be made competative again. If that happens, our coach has won trophies so we have to trust he can work that out as well.

Eden getting a good draw helps but getting up for one game is easier than getting up for every week and everything that is thrown at you by the premier league. Cup games are also about attacking end to end affairs, our lot mostly had no problem with the attacking side, it was the defending and the daily grind of the prem. But saying all that, we did go ten years without a sniff and never won the Worthington mug or carriboo cup thingy.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2018 12:26:21
We did get some good draws along the way no question, the first win we got home draws all the way to the sf and the last win included getting both Sutton and Lincoln on the way to the sf but we did beat Chelsea and City too which to me showed the players were better than they showed most of the time but only if the mood suited them, they played for themselves not the club in my opinion.

Dagala Dagala wherefore art ye Dagala?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - he probably broke his keyboard when he saw Xhaka was in the team again....}

27 Aug 2018 15:13:10
I think it was the Xhaka Iwobi combo that did it Ed mate, Xhaka alone can drive a man to do strange things but when you add Iwobi into the equation then there is no telling what effect it can have on some fans :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - it would make me put my fist through the screen if they played for my team!}

27 Aug 2018 18:35:27
And for the unknown reason they both have their contracts renewed. And I think that what made the funny Dagala retire from the arsenal page.

27 Aug 2018 19:12:48
I think we should let both Xhaka and Iwobi go and resign Dags.
He brought fun laughter and positivity.
Something neither Xhaka or Iwobi are noted for.
Bring back the, bring back the, bring back the Dagssssss.

I miss raver61, the amusement at the toot failing to win a trophy was fun. What happened to him?

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Aug 2018 08:59:59
Golfcartgate did for the Raver for some reason, I'm not quite sure why because no one ever really took his life style stories to seriously which he seemed to take in good spirits but for some reason his golf car m4 story being challenged seemed to get to him.
Shame as I like the Raver and enjoyed his posts, he was good fun and fundamentally a good bloke.

Yeah but he was always harmless fantasy stuff Steve and he did enjoy the crack.
I'm not quite sure why he got so upset about being challenged on the golf cart thing as it's not as if the other stuff was any more believable is it :-)
Come back Raver and bring Dags with you mate.
