Saw the Thierry Henry interview on tv over the Christmas period. I just love the guy! Did anyone else see he's "when we won the league at the Lane" followed by massive cheesy grin and laughter at spurs fans? Brilliant.

What I would give to have Henry of 10 years ago in the team.

He clearly loves Arsenal and says it would be a dream to be back at Arsenal in some capacity in the future.

What a legend!

I would almost say my love for Thierry is like Flybos obsession with Olly.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The man is a legend

Agree0 Disagree0

My love for Henry is more then my obsession with Olly. I've had words with Giroud and told him he needs to be more clinical. I'm doing my bit for the cause. I've finished playing the good cop and now i'm playing the bad. Luckily it's one of the uniforms I have in my possession.
Flybo

There will never be another Henry, even if it was possible to find the same ability, to match not with the passion and the fantastic sense of fun IMPOSSIBLE

Agree0 Disagree0

I watched that too and the 'Arsenal Legends: Thierry Henry' off of iTunes, the man just lives and breathes arsenal don't he.
He will never be replaced, maybe this Summer he could return even if it's in coaching, that would be bloody awesome!

Giroud has helped fire us to the top of the. League.
Maybe he's not the best arsenal forward we have had at the club but he's all we have had this season.

He loves arsenal

Cut him some slack lads

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed! You can't start slagging off Giroud! He is part of a team that sits top of the league. Let's be honest, were doing very well and we should be backing our team with the games coming thick and fast! Poldolski and Walcott can now provide support and take the place of Olly should AW think he needs a rest. Therefore, just be happy our boys are back on top and support the team!

Leave Giroud alone

Yes Podolski is a quality player .people keep raving about the fact that he scored.who done an excellent job of holding the ball up for him? oh yes Giroud, and he has been doing that all season. Personally I think the missing man could be Costa he is on a low salary if Arsenal could tempt him we would be in real business

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Great to have Poldolski and Theo back they have both been missed and by no one more than Giroud, now they can give him either a breather or a very welcome hand up top.
Let's face it we have been short of options up there nearly all season so far but some how we are top! How did that happen?

Wilshire has 4 yellow cards, so if he gets a yellow card against Newcastle he will get a 1 match ban.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Let's be honest, Cardiff at home isn't a bad game to be suspended for surely?

Just the cynic in me but I feel a yellow card (if he hasn't got one already) after about 80mins.

Agree0 Disagree0

After this weekend yellow cards are wiped out so it would be silly to take a yellow.

Agree0 Disagree0

If cards are about to be wiped out that means Jack will want a couple quick :-)
Sorry an unnecessary dig there Jack but I really couldn't help it.
I just want you to knuckle down and start giving Aaron and Ross Barkley some competition for the FOOTBALL headlines and show everyone what your really about

Agree0 Disagree0

G95 I thought that happened in February but I bow to your superior knowledge! In that case, everyone's got one more game and then they can smash the you know what out of players knowing their bookings won't result in a ban! :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I think they're wiped out on December the 31st? Can an Ed confirm this?

Agree0 Disagree0

G95,

The daily(m)ail has an article about this on their website. It suggests that these fixtures are the last fixtures where the ban would apply.

(does that help or do we question the daily(m)ail even on that issue?)

Cheers

Good result and great to be back top at the halfway stage. The game seemed to change when Ramsey came off and Cazorla played more central. Despite his excellent scoring record I still have reservations about Ramsey. The same goes for Giroud, who has tremendous character and gives everything for the team, but lacks pace and a killer instinct. Bendtner came on and looks dire, the sooner he goes the better, he is an embarrassment. In the next two windows we need to look at signing a right back. I am not at all convinced by Jenkinson and Sagna won't sign a new deal. We need a 4th centre back, a commanding right sided one as back up for Merte. We need a midfield player to replace The ageing Rosicky. We desperately need a quality striker. In this window either Lewandowski or Costa and Micah Richards. In the summer Cabaye or Draxler. If no top signings are made in January I cannot see us winning the PL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Why do we need four centre backs?
Only 2 play, Flamini can do a job there as can Sagna. Three is plenty

Agree0 Disagree0

I would love us to sign Richards, I have rated him ever since he first got in the city and England teams about 6 yrs ago, he can play all back four positions plus holding MF and I think he would be a decent sweeper if ever we wanted that option

Very happy with the west ham result, we needed a game like that to get us back on track, had one hectic few weeks of matches so it good we got the win and are top of the table again :)

I honestly can't believe that people thought we were a disgrace in that game, yeah we may have made a few mistakes at the back and giroud just isn't scoring but we won so that's all that matters surely?

Giroud does need a goal though, get his confidence back up because the more games he goes without one the less likely he will get out of his hole, no that poldi is back we can rotate him and giroud and see how it favours.

So bloody happy to have Theo back in the team, he can make mistakes yes but all players do that.

Tough game at Newcastle Sunday so hopefully we win there and that's another 3 points closer to title!

Keep your heads held high and your red and white scarfs raised and chant "and it's arsenal, arsenal fc, we're by far the greatest team the world has ever seen" :)

No matter what happens to us Arsenal I will support them and watch them as much as I can COYG!

Nice post, Essex.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post Essex mate.
Giroud looks knacked and not hard to understand why, no one and I mean no one has given more than him this season.
I may not be an authority on the game but to me he is a very big part of the reason we are where we are, and that just happens to be top of the English premier league the toughest league in the world.
Impossible I know but I know but I would love to do a sliding doors thing and see where we would be had he been injured in August instead of Pod.
He is fast becoming the new Ramsey as a figure to have a go at, its beyond me and my limited knowledge it really is

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah exactly, if you or I was asked to work every single day of the week soon enough you will get tired so he does need a little breather.
So far this season I think we've been outstanding, I know we lost man city 6-3 and yes that was a little frustrating but we've still been playing fantastically plus being top of the league I don't think us fans can complain about much tbh because NO ONE would of predicted us being where we are now at the start of the season even if we didn't lose to Aston villa. Transfer window opens in a week so I'll be on here everyday (and s sports) to find out the latest rumours :)

Agree0 Disagree0

Bang on again Essex mate, I said in August I wanted top two or real close Third but allowed myself to get carried away so was well disappointed at Napoli and city results, my fault that one for getting over excited.
But even if we don't beat Chelski city or UTD this season we will be very close if we keep avoiding the banana skins we have been addicted to in previous years.
This is our best season for years and I am loving it

Agree0 Disagree0

Many thanks G62

This belongs with my other post!

Santi Cazorla - been abit off the pace recently but was outstanding today, always creating opportunities, constantly hurting the West ham defence with his attacking display and also managed to get back and support Gibbs!
Vermalen - Made a great fill in today and the club captain led the team well, cut out a lot of there attacks and apart from a few sketchy patches managed to contain cole apart from the first 10 - 15 min of the second half! He can only get better!

Another person I would like to mention is Ozil who I feel has received undeserved stick! For me he played very well today, dictated tempo, made some passes and carved opportunities and should have scored so all in all a good performance! I still feel he is trieing to find his feet in the prem and still adjusting but has stilled got 7 assists in the league and 3-4 goals so isn't doing too bad! Has showed glimpses of his dominance, Napoli? Norwich? etc but I still feel he has much more to give and will be vital if we are to do well in our remaining three competitions!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

GR you're right mate Ozil is doing OK, not at his very best yet but he makes a difference in almost every game
