I was outside highbury getting my coach ticket for the semi final in the fa cup against spurs the day he passed away.
We played spurs at home that day as well and who scored the winner. An arsenal Number 7.
The number 7 struck again a couple of weeks later again against spurs to win the semi.
There's only 1 David Rocastle!
Agree6

Rocastle was my favourite player of that era, bare in mind he had skill, pace and vision but was playing at a time when defenders were able to take legs away and get away with it, if he was playing today, with todays rules he would have been a true superstar!

4 signings in 2 years = premier league or fa cup
kogbalia
ogbonna
van der wiel
jovetic
team = sczezny
gibbs ogbonna koscielny van der wiel
kogbalia wilshere
wallcott cazorla the ox
Jovetic
I know koscilny will be debated but in my opinion that would make us extremely competitive

"Jacks got bad feet"
And you are qualified to diagnose this? Don't tell me, you have a friend who is an expert?
Seriously, Jacks build and posture when he runs is exactly the same as Messi's, look at his posture and feet.

Jacks got bad feet? please don't tell me this running on the ankles crap.
you do realise the medical professionals that are used to analyse each and every individual before signing them on for millions of pounds would have made such an assessment. however you seem to know best.
fatigue plays a big part in everything. try to run everyday for 5 miles and then run 10 miles once a week. tell me 2 months in how you feel.
Agree3

To first replyer: Yeah, they rest him that is way he played in all of their games in PL 26 (3), and the most of the games in CL. They have 11 more games and he will reach at least 35 games this season, which is not far less than the 37 games he played for us last season! May be he was lucky this season, may be he has finnaly overcome his injury problems. I sincerely hope he is not!
Agree0
Disagree1
It's not an issue with rest, It is just good fortune. He has had 2. 5 seasons since his last significant injury. I doubt his injury record has disappeared. However if it has it is potentially good news for some of our remaining injury prone players (Gibbs, Wilshere, Diaby, Rosicky).

Nacho, Kos and BFG were all world class yesterday.
They were respectively the best defenders on three of the best back lines in the world in their matches
Watching Kos neutralize Villa was a thing of beauty. Spain never once went directly at him.
Consequently, how horrible is Evra! Makes me so happy, I absolutely hate that guy. Should have played Clichy, player with proper pedigree
Believable14
Unbelievable6
So true my fellow countryman.
Kos is THE BOSS. That was the best attack in international football and they were scared of kos.
BFG is so intelligent, more than makes up for his lack of pace.
Nacho is brilliant in defense but can contribute in attack (great assist)
I love it! And Jenks to the mix a d that's a true fortress at the back,
Agree10

That too is my best defense for us.
Jenks is going to be a beast
Agree12

This is laughable, if they were so good things would be very different for Arsenal in the league! You laugh at Evra but somehow he's formed part of a team that's gone 15 points clear at the top of the EPL. Explain that?

Simple.
1) you support man utd
2) you buy the ref
3) you act like you get robbed if a whistle goes against you.
4) you don't realise it happens to other teams against your team almost every time.
5)consider yourself lawyered
6)take time to reflect on this and think of yourself as a T***

Lakerville
Wow, you really explained that very well. Oh no you didn't, you just went on a totally baseless ramble. To answer your points though:
1) Correct but there's no prize sorry.
2) Don't be so juvenile, you either know that's untrue or you are demented (or possibly both)
3) Wrong, some go for you some against you (EVEN the Nani sending off), these things happen.
4) "almost every time" again that's juvenile and baseless - like I said you win some you lose some, now it's you who seems not to be able to grasp that?
5) Did I mention the word 'juvenile'? :)
6) I have reflected and what I conclude is that your post did not answer mine at all it ended up being jibber jabber.
Good day!

Strikers who are/will move this summer
Falcao, Aguero, Cavani, Jovetic, Sanchez, Villa, Higuain, Benzema, Suarez, Tevez, Dzeko, Lewendowski, Rooney, Torres, Andy caroll to name a few.
Clubs who will be involved with some big names this summer
PSG, Monaco, City, United, Chelsea, Madrid, Barcelona, Juventus.
Surely we should be able to compete for one of the players above not named andy caroll.

Funny how that now we apparently have a huge transfer budget for the summer, we won't be able to attract big names due to the fact we're unlikely to make it to the Champs League. However, with a lot of contracts coming to an end this summer and a lot of deadwood finally getting off our wages bill, I can see a lot of youth replacements being signed. Cheap and Wenger loves "potential" whatever that is. I predict 3 big signings, none of which have been predicted yet. Isco is a deffinate no due to Barca interest and Jovetic is the flavour of the week and I cannot see him at the Emirates. Poaching a couple of QPR players when they go down would be good for us though. Samba and Remy I can see in an Arsenal shirt next season

In my humble opinion. we need to strengthen the spine of our squad with quality and power if we realistically want to compete for silverware. I am not in the opinion that Jovetic is worth 25 million, so this summer I would like to see.
Dzeko or Benzema ( Gervinho out )
Vorm ( Mannone out )
Subotic ( Vermaelen out )
Eriksen or Isco ( Arteta out )
Wanyama ( Ramsey out )
I know many will disagree with me, and that's fine. but this is my opinion on our weakest points and how to fix them.
Believable6
Unbelievable26
First off. City won't sell Dzeko to us.
Benzema cost madrid close to 30 mill. I don't see them making a fire sale price and neither will we buy him for anything over 20mill.
Vorm, is just rumours. think of GK's that are made available, we will more likely be looking at them.
Subotic is being tracked by barcelona and they are not willing to spend over 20 mill on him. so imagine what wenger must think.
Isco would be a realistic target. price not soo much. Erikson, depends on where his agent wants to pawn him to.
Wanyama again only performed at a high level sporadically. we have plenty of those.
In terms of the players you want out. gervinho is a decent sub compared to chamakh, or park chu of the past.
Arteta is more a EPL player than a champions league one and we need depth so for me he stays. Ramsey has put in some decent performances and once again I would have him on the bench.
rather get rid of the real garbage then those who are worthy of atleast being on the subs bench. {Ed029's Note - Isco would be the most expensive of the players mentioned.}
Agree9
Disagree0
Without being funny which of these players would CHOOSE arsenal when they could go to teams that are winning things. the last three particularly would have much better options than arsenal although subotic has recently signed a contract (i think). without cl arsenal need to rethink their purchasing and more importantly their selling mentality. Letting the best players go year in year out doesn't send the right message out to players like these mentioned.

Moving on Ramsey could benWenger's worst ever decision. He knows this, and would never sell the Welshman.
I've posted before defending young Aaron, but to reiterate:
He sustained the worst injury in recent prem history. then bounced back into first team action.
He has played out wide, through the middle, the holding mf role, as well as right back.
He has leadership qualities and will one day, I promise, be an elite midfielder.
Give the boy a break.
Agree10

Give the boy a break? could have chosen your words better mate.
But i'm with you, I've slated him in the past but mainly for the stupid flicks and stuff he tries, but give his due his last 5-6 games he has been getting better and better.
Ive never wanted him sold as I think he will grow into a great player. i'm hoping sooner rather than later

I agree with the players that would come in (although I doubt we would get any of them) but I wouldn't get rid of Arteta, Ramsey or Verm. These are all good squad players (I see Ramsey as Arteta's replacement in 2 years and Verm is just in bad form). Get rid of AA, Squid, Park, Chamack, Denilson etc.

Why would he come to arsenal he is ambitious and clearly wants to win things that at the moment isn't going to happen at arsenal. the point is though that are people speaking of arsenal in such negative fashion and if so why. ok no trophies for 8 years (and counting) but there is still a great fan base. No the big signings are looking to win things and arsenal doesn't match that ambition anymore

Not only the trophies make one club "real big". They are important, but there is more important stuff. The history, the ideology of the club, manager's charisma, the magic surrounding the club and ofcourse the fans! If you think only the tropheys make one team big, you have to be Man Unt fans.
