Based on the fact there are 20 teams in Prem~
Leicester would be 18th in terms of possession and 20th in terms of accurate passes completed.

That means, they are going to win the league without really touching the ball (Smiley face) .

Thier fans must be gutted not one move that involved 32 passes in the opposition box before shooting?

Yep G62,
They are definitely doing something wrong :-)

Indeed 62.shows who has his tactics worked out . sod beliefs, 3 points is the goal.

There is a goal at either end of the field; if you put more goals in the one at the furthest point and let in less at the one that is directly behind you, you get three points. The rest is all bull sheet really.

We all want to see good football whenever possible but as Gardiola said a few months back tippy tappy football for the sake of it is pointless.

Certainly is, 77 passes and no end result, what is the point.

I want 3 points firstly, performance comes next. Be hard to beat and get a winning mentality that is key.

Teams used to think " oh bugger its Arsenal next week" not anymore.

True Banbury mate as Swansea and Southampton keep showing us each season both home and away they don't set out to try to hang on to the point they start with against us anymore.

Maybe that's the answer Dags.
If we don't touch the ball we mat win the CL and PL and FA Cup etc.
Hold on! Aren't we doing that already so where are the trophies! -:)

Happy Easter all.
Eds. If Wenger retires and is given a position upstairs.
1) Do you think he will still have a big influence in calling the shots over any incoming manager and any transfers.
2) Or do you think it would be better for the club and supporters if he were to clear out altogether.
My reason being is that after all these years it's human nature that some people cannot let go and will still try and rule the roost from a different angle.
Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - he will be involved but he shouldn't be. It never works out doing that.}

I'm all for sentimentality, but what exactly will Wenger do?

Head Chef? Programme seller? Elite ball boy?

I have a feeling that Wenger will fulfill his obligations and if he moves on, it will be at the end of next season when his contract terminates. I do not believe he will stay on at the club. If he still wishes to manage a club side, I would guess that he would ideally go to PSG or a top European club. I do not believe he will take on a building job at a lower club, The alternative would be to manage the French National team, depending upon their performance at this summers Euros. If they don't do well on home territory, they may decide to make a managerial change, which would open the way for Wenger to take up the position.

Ed 01.
Thanks for the reply.
I am totally in agreement with you.
Absolutely it's hard to let go after so many years.
Personally I think the same way.
Let's say thank you shake hands and let's see him in the stands as a spectator.

{Ed001's Note - Man Utd tried it twice, when Busby and Ferguson retired, both times it has failed completely.}

Saying that Arsene has always said he wants to leave the next manager a good squad. Good youth system and good finance. Why would he get involved if he wants to leave it in that? Although I'd be surprised if he did completely back away.

Personally I think Arsene will leave the club for a while after he decides to step down as manager, he obviously enjoys coaching and working with players so I wouldn't be surprised if he went to work for the French FA in some way be it national coach or youth development.
I'm sure he will return to Arsenal at some later point in time but I don't think leaving Arsenal will be as difficult for Arsene as people think.

I think he will go on his saga holidays join the darby and Joan club, downsize to a little warden controlled bungelow near the sea and sort out his funeral plan like any other pensioner.

It will be interesting to see how Leicester and Tottenham's international players will cope with playing extra matches. Both teams were knocked out of the domestic cups in the early rounds and Tottenham conceded their Europa League match against Dortmund by playing a weakened team in the first leg, when they were thrashed. Leicester face a tricky home match against Southampton, whilst Tottenham have an even more difficult match on Saturday away to Liverpool. It will be interesting to see how many of the Leicester and Tottenham players, are selected again for the midweek international matches. We need to win at home to Watford and I am confident we will do so, despite the recent FA Cup defeat.

RG,
Our problem at the moment, indeed the past 4/ 5 weeks, is that we are looking at Leicester and Spurs fixtures, and hoping they slip up.

We are looking at Leicester and Spurs players and hoping they pick up an injury.

We should be flying high, top of the league and other teams should be looking at Arsenal fixtures and thinking "Hope they slip up".

Poor season.

Think it's been our worst season in years tbh, the fact the players have not been able to raise there game at crucial moments of the season when all the title rivals have dropped points is frankly worrying, have they lost faith in Wenger? Publically they back him but it doesn't feel like they do on the pitch.

Wenger just buying Cech in the summer was his biggest failure, did he really honestly think that's where we lost the league last season? he always says we wanted this player or that, offering half the market value player doesn't constitute a valid offer Arsene and nor doesn't it mean we are ' able to compete in the market place with our rivals' as you and Ivan like to bang on about.

If you'd have asked any football fan at the start of the season, City are fourth, Utd Liverpool and Chealse are out of the champions league spots, who's top of the league? I doubt there's many people who'd have not said Aresnal

Neither the manager or the players seem to be taking no any repsiblillty for what's one of the biggest failures if not the biggest failure of a season Wenger has had.

Dagenham. Of course, I totally agree that we should be in pole position, but the fact is that we are not and we have to hope that both teams above us slip up. On the positive side, both teams have tougher run ins than we do. Both teams wil have had more players playing in the internationals, who are not used to playing as often and this season both have benefitted from having played less cup matches than we have.
Having looked at the remaining fixtures, if we have a decent run of form, I can see us finishing second, but overtaking Leicester may prove impossible, For us to do this we must win at least 7 of our remaining matches and draw one, which is a very tall order.

Agree RG,
My post wasn't a pop at you or your original post BTW.

Just a general overview of the season we are having :-)

Dags, I didn't take it as having a 'pop' at my original post. It was a correct and interesting observation, I enjoy your comments in general, as they tend to be constructive, opposed to many comments that simply criticise, but offer no intelligent response.
I hope we resume our recent better form after the international break and fingers crossed that we get some of injured players back soon.
