I told you Ozil was the real deal, no doubters anymore. Happy Xmas and New Year all:)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2015 22:42:43
Oz ozil most definitely wasnt the real deal, but he most definitely is NOW.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2015 22:56:09
Preaching to the choir - Ozil has been pretty amazing from an assists, goals, creating space by unselfish runs, keeping the team ticking over, keep possession, always always giving a team member an option to pass, turning defence to attack and distance covered to help the team.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2015 23:07:33
With a bit of better finishing we could have scored 6 tonight, and Ozil could have had 6 assists.

Happy New Year mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 00:21:02
He's in amazing form. Great to see. We will never know why he took two years but let's get the new deal signed. He will break Henry's record easy now.

29 Dec 2015 00:34:24
Analysing what you are saying dags, we need a new striker now, otherwise we are wasting the talent. You said it. Not me.

I knew somebody would pick me up on that one Steve :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2015 09:12:39
Didn't Alan Hanson say about 7 years ago that Theo was OK as long he didn't get time to think, to be fair the same could be said of Olly they both seem to miss the easy chances yet score the difficult ones.

Qoute from Gary Liniker during tonights game
" Mesut Ozil could pass the ball through a cheese grater without scratching the ball "
Brilliant quote about an outstanding player.

Great to see Ozil being appreciated - wonder what Mr Owen thinks?

Has he won Moyes over yet? 😊.

28 Dec 2015 23:11:56
I bought a cheese grater today that was once owned by Hitler and Saddam Hussein.

It was the grater of 2 evils.

28 Dec 2015 23:28:34
Just watched MOTD - how does Ozil see these passes never mind actually play them. He should have had 4 assists today.

Amazing player - so lucky to have him.

It dosent do him justice G62, ozil could pass a cheese grater through a ball without popin it πŸ‘πŸ».

Good win tonight, we could have scored couple more goals at least had welcott took his chances. OG with great assist but that's about it the whole game.
Well done and good to see the team bounce back aftet a terrible loss.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2015 19:32:46
Not only the goal but i thought gabriel was immence, i think when fit kos and gab need playing together more often, he could be the answer. Credit to chambers, showed good vision and looked confident, without being commanding. Walcott on another day could have had two, but its obvious his pace terryfies the opposition.
ozil was class and a mention for the ox, too. We can all watch the big game tonight all relaxed.

Great result after our shambles against Southampton. I did wonder whether Lord Wenger had got the team right, Resting Koz after how Mert got exsposed. But we must trust and now dream.
And it good to see some of the spurs lads in here commenting.
Its their first step to enlightenment, So come forth and rejoice in our happiness at being top.

Hello welsh, welcome, the spuds are getting drunk on the air up here, they aren't used to it. With chelski slumming it and man u playing with the handbrake on, they think they are home and hosed. Will they be on here come may, we will see.

I will Steve. r most defiantly. I think I have always been fairly accurate, honest and unbias with my posts here as an opposing fan?

I just hope for all your sakes that your team doesn't choke, as everyone is saying that it's your year, including myself.

Sorry Ed,
I was watching the game on some dodgy American stream. Good quality though.

Lime tree it doesn't matter who we play we hardly ever lose. we have only lost twice and have the best goal difference in the league. Plus a fantastic spine in our team in lloris, vert, alderwereld, dembele the little magician in alli and the goal machine Kane and that's why we are challenging for the league.

Everyone has a price my friend, as you well know in your business.. But still that wouldn't surprise me if Joe is excited about the summer sale.. Heaven knows where we'd be if he decided to invest and not constantly balance the books or make profit from sales..

If you still don't rate shaqiri or think he's worth 12mill wow. Bargain at twice the price.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - why? One goal is not 12m?}

28 Dec 2015 16:14:19
He's been a great buy. What does 12mill get you this days? One of berihnos legs! Joe Allen was 15mill eds who would you rather have?

Shaqiri bargain no question.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - but he has been poor or injured most of the season. Two good games and suddenly he is a bargain. Irrelevant how much others cost, especially ones that don't even play in the same position, a stupid way to make a point. Shaqiri is an attitude problem that was unwanted, there is good reason for that. Knee jerk reactions abound here at the best of times, but this is one of the worst.}

28 Dec 2015 16:31:53
Talk to me at the end of the season then mate. He works for the team. Arnoutovic has attitude problem but he performs. Not like mario would had one but didn't perform.

Shaqiri was good against man city too and other games. Big fan.

Firmino was more than double his Price. And shaqiri is better.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - seriously? Shaqiri is better? They have had the exact same number of good performances, but Shaqiri is better because you say so? You get so obsessive over players you have a hard on for it gets embarrassing at times. You are again comparing players that play in different positions, why do you do that? Arnautovic does have an attitude problem, but not the same as Shaqiri's. Why are you bringing that up? Arnautovic has discipline problems, not so much an attitude problem where he just can't be bothered some weeks. Shaqiri will be great one week, the next 3 he will be crap, it is the way he is. You will be salivating over the good week though, as it is clear you are truly the epitome of MOTD fever.}

28 Dec 2015 16:55:33
Remember I told u Brendon was done and klopp was in. You stated it wasn't happening. Let's talk at the end of the season and see how shqiri does mate. They will double there cash when they sell him. Lamela one good game vs city. 30mill or so wasted.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hahaha give it a rest, that is a moronic reply. Liverpool had not contacted Klopp when I said it was not happening. It was done within hours of the contact being made, so anyone saying it was happening before then was full of crap as it all happened in moments. Trying to pass off a guess as knowledge just makes you look an arse. Lamela has had a few good games, have you actually ever watched him play?}

Michael Carrick says he's hurt by people saying the utd players aren't giving 100% so as to get rid of LVG.
Personally I'm not sure but it would be a very worrying trend if over paid over pampered players suddenly got to chose which manager they did or didn't want, I know indirectly what the players do on the pitch always has and alwauys will decide the managers fate but if players at certain clubs are collectively giving less than their best in order to get what they want that's very bad news for the game and needs to be stamped on very quickly.

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Dec 2015 09:22:44
I had a look at some brief footage of Elneny and he looks a useful addition to the squad. I would also like to see us push through a deal for either Wanyama or Krychowiak, although I appreciate these deals would be extremely difficult to complete in the January window, we must make every effort to sign one of these two. We have a very full fixture list until the end of the season and we have quite a small squad, taking into account the injury situation. It looks like we could be without Cazorla for the rest of the season. The likes of Welbeck, Wilshere, Rosicky and Coquelin are some way off returning, considering that Wenger usually insists upon a 4-6 week pre-season type training period, before they return. In addition Arteta has not been fit on a regular basis for some time.
Next season it is highly likely that the trio of Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky will depart and we will need to replace them. Quite frankly, I couldn't understand why we didn't let them go last summer. Arteta, nearly 34, had hardly played the season before due to injury and was well past his best days at Everton, when he played in a more advanced position than the one he has played at Arsenal. Rosicky is over 35 years of age and Flamini is awful, at best a body on the pitch and little else.
Elsewhere we have plenty of cover, despite the injuries. Wenger must use the squad, as after the huge effort against Man City, the team looked fatigued against Southampton. The likes of Debuchy, Gabriel, Chambers, Gibbs, Oxlade and possibly Reine-Adelaide should be played. Today, I would play Oxlade in place of Campbell, Chambers in place of the atrocious Flamini (he can't play worse) and would consider giving one of the central defenders a rest and bring in Gabriel. The full backs, could also do with a rest and we have two internationals that could play:
Cech
Debuchy Gabriel Koscileny Gibbs
Chambers Ramsey
Walcott Ozil Oxlade
Giroud
Then we could bring back the rested players at the weekend against Newcastle. These are two matches we need to win, as we have difficult fixtures coming up against Liverpool and Stoke, by which time we will hopefully have made at least one, if not two signings.
For those of you that criticise my comments in respect of Flamin; would he be in the squad of any top team? If he left Arsenal would any Premiership team not in relegation trouble sign him?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

28 Dec 2015 09:44:59
What if we play that side and don't win tonight?
Surely Olypiakos and Zargreb are very recent examples to play your best available 11 at all times.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2015 10:24:22
The new signing plays like rabiot if you ask me. And I like rabiot. Egyptian players have an average record in this league tho. Time will tell.

Iv named many players on here and got told they are not a worthy signing. I guess people will now talk this guy up after a 5min YouTube video.

He may prove a great signing but this is not the world class buy he were told we want. Krychoiak last summer 22mill would of been great.

Agree0 Disagree1

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal will be taking him because of his versatility - particularly his ability to play as a defensive midfield player. I suspect this will end interest in Inter's Marcelo Brozovic, a similar player - but a central midfield player who can play further back rather than a defensive midfield player who can play further forward.}

28 Dec 2015 14:18:46
If we get him, its because he is cheap and available, not because he is the best. I won't have an opinion of his ability until he has played a few games. The thing we don't need him to be though is a santos. He has to come in and perform.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2015 15:57:07

Wouldn't it be great to have big Tony in his prime in this team, best captain I can remember he lead by example and made sure everyone followed that example and wasn't afraid to let anyone know if they weren't giving everything wether they 2p or Β£2 million Tony expected them to give their all for the Arsenal.
Rubbish manager but brilliant captain.
