Laca still didn't look happy at being subbed yet again. No giroud this time but anyone will do. Still don't see the point of this pointless charade.

Especially when he could really do with a goal. Just don't get it.

Stoner, the guy works his socks off for the team had a hand in two goals and gets ouykt off every game for no reason at all. I bet he is really chuffed.

There have been times when I’ve wanted us to bring someone on to protect a lead but it doesn’t seem to matter how the games going, Lacazette gets hooked.

Coquelin was brilliant next to Cazorla when he first came back but know seems to have forgotten what his job is and ends up high up the pitch all the time, something he never really did before.

I don't have an issue with bringing on protection but for me it had to be Ozil who came off, not Lacazette. If you completely remove your offensive threat you just hand the momentum to the other team, which is exactly what happened in the last 10 minutes. Leaving Sanchez and Laca as a front two would have left a more potent threat IMO. I have said before, i just don't understand why players who are about to leave the club get to play 90 mins and a player you have just signed is constantly subbed first? Also, for me, Elneny works much harder when he comes on a sub, and would be my choice in front of Coquelin.

EG Wenger played the ox against the team he knew he would be selling him too the next day. Left our top scorer on the bench and we all wonder why there is so many problems at this football club. Piss the new boys off ( Lacazette and Kolasinac ) but keep the under achievers, bellarin and xhaka on at all cost, even though they are part of the problem we let so many goals in. Plus I've got no respect for a guy who can't even zip a coat up.

I still get angry thinking about the season he kept playing Flamini instead of Diara who'd only just got to the club, Diara go pissed off and left as he knew he was the better player, and Flamini jumped ship to Milan anyway.

28 Dec 2017 21:59:05
Well, that was squeaky.

Flashes of brilliance, but again, if put under pressure, we crumble.

Happy with 3 goals and 3 points.

Yet again, no 90 mins for Laca.

Flashy and flimsy all rolled into one. I don't think we will ever defend properly again, it just keeps rolling. But 3 good point Dags.

28 Dec 2017 21:55:17
Good win but that defending again.

Yet again sanzchez gives the ball away and leads to a goal.

Yeah he's poor. Not good enough for us. No skill. don't worry he won't be here long. What a gonk.

Dags he was trying to give the ball away and they fell in the net.

65 times he gave the ball away in two games and he’s still god in some eyes pmsl yet xhaka gets all the abuse.

top class player and if he goes to city will give them an extra dimension.

29 Dec 2017 01:03:38
give you something else to moan about when he goes though won't it.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2017 01:09:34
Derby, he is class on grass, that's why citeh want him, he will be missed here that's for sure. I will miss him, i enjoy watching thoroughbreds instead of donkeys.

28 Dec 2017 21:08:52
Quicker Sanchez goes the better always loses the ball he has 1st and 2nd place for the amount of times a player loses the ball in a game 33 and 32.

28 Dec 2017 21:36:47
Just scored twice so let's forgive him.

28 Dec 2017 21:52:27
Yeah we want more donkeys in the team.

28 Dec 2017 23:42:16
I’d rather someone who wants to be here than someone who doesn’t.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2017 01:11:47
Well that's great jelfy, me I'd be more worried at the reason our best players don't want to be here.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Dec 2017 01:11:54
Looks like half the team don't want him there after he scored his first goal, only four celebrated with him.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2017 17:20:48
Wilfred, that depends on what camara at what time you look at. Apparently the only one not to celbrate was kos, who was later seen high fiving sanchez. There was actually a video of wenger zipping his coat up.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 19:20:15
Plenty of changes in the team tonight but xhaka still there. He must be wengers love child, should not be anywhere near the team.

I'm just glad Kolasinac is back.

Managers at other club's since Wenger took over.

Chelsea 15.
Tottenham 11.
Man City 10.
Liverpool 7.
Man Utd 4.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed0333's Note - excellent stat mate. Not sure how to interpret it though. Should we salute or denegrate Arsenal for keeping Arsene for so long? Furthermore I didn’t realize we’d had 7 managers since Wenger started managing you lot, that’s sobering stuff. Goes to show what a loyal servent Mr Wenger is. I doubt this tenure will ever be emulated again.

28 Dec 2017 18:41:26
Exactly Ed0333,
It shows we have faith in our manager (s) , possibly to our detriment.

PS, You have had Roy Evans, Gerrard Houllier, Rafa Benitez, Roy Hodgson, Kenny Dalglish, Brendan Rodgers and Klopp.

28 Dec 2017 18:43:50
Arsenal outside the top four again, is that what you are getting at Dags.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 19:09:07
Yep Steve,
We have "The best outside the top 4" manager in the world 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 20:49:38
The thing is nower days sack own manager and then a team seems to cycle through a few managers quite rapidly.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 09:35:46
The signing of Van Dijk is concerning for Arsenal, as the fight for a top four place intensifies. Whilst City and United appear to have two of the four spots, the remaining two places will be hard fought over. We are in a period of damage limitation as Ozil and Sanchez are sure to depart, whilst Wilshere can still elect to go elsewhere. Ramsey and Welbeck have set aside possible negotiations to extend their deals which are entering a critical phase. We desperately need to sign at least 4 top players in this window and at least 2 or. More in the summer. Will it happen? Not a chance under Wenger. I see two signings at best, probably young players with potential. In this window I would like to see us sign a CB, a DM (Nzonzi) , a wide left player (Saha) and a creative midfield player (Fekir) .

Believable1 Unbelievable1

28 Dec 2017 09:46:15
Is Nzonzi really an improvement on our midfield? i know our midfield is bad but really, Nzonzi? We need help, not more players who are average to be at the club. He doesn't add goals and isn't that great as a DM in my opinion. agree we need wide left to replace Sanchez, Also need a wide right as we don't have one. Someone who scares opposition teams and scores goals, can get past players and has an end product. We're also going to need to replace Cech end of year and get a new CB. we have a lot of money needs to be spent but we're a club that wont. So we have the same conversation year after year. 2 players behind in a normal season and then opposition get stronger and we do the minimum to follow. We've been found out.

Agree3 Disagree1

28 Dec 2017 11:10:20
No he’s not, he isn’t good enough.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 12:06:06
Butland should be a priority for Cech's replacement IMO. He really is looking a good keeper already and will continue to improve. I don't get all the negativity about Nzonzi. Perhaps this is coming from people who remember him from the premiership rather than those who watch him play in Spain, where he has been excellent for Seville for the past few seasons.

He wouldn't be my first choice (a revitalised Geoffrey Kondogbia would be) based mostly on his age and the touted price, but as a dedicated DM who also slips into CD when needed, he is a major improvement on what we have, which to be honest isn't difficult.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 12:30:59
Why are seville getting rid? I've read they don't rate him or his attitude. I know he hasn't played since being hauled off at half time against liverpool.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 14:36:38
I believe he fell out with the manager Steve, although he (the manager) just got Spanish archer-ed before Christmas so he might not be leaving Seville now anyway. However, they certainly rated him when they won 3 UEFA cups back-to back with him sitting as DM in front of the back 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 14:52:02
EG he should be going nowhere then. For me maitland niles should be tried at holding mid not at left back. We have a young midfielder playing every position but his best, a top left back on the bench and xhaka not hacking the prem. We are short in defence so that's the area we should be strengthening first, rather than nzonzi. Niles should have been tried in xhakas place first not kols. All very strange anyway, there is obviously a problem or two behind the scenes.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 17:13:59
I really can't get my head around this obsession with Nzonzi. I, personally, don't think he'd start in any of the top 6 teams in the Prem, why has he been deamed good enough for us?

And re a Sanchez replacement, Carrasco from Atlético is apparently available now. I think he would be the perfect player to replace Sanchez. Again, only my opinion.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 18:04:53
NE the perfect replacement would be Draxler.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 19:11:16
True, Steve. It would have been great if PSG didn't have one of the most talented attacking line ups in the world, Sanchez could have been involved in a deal for him. He's wasted at psg. The surplus of world class attackers could mean a cut price deal though.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 19:17:23
The swap isn't on but sanchez to citeh ( who ain't no rivals to us ) and drax in may be a good deal. We have ruined sanchez an we will never rival citeh especially while we have wenger. It could be now a no brainer.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Dec 2017 20:54:23
N’zonzi Would be of more use than xhaka. United won’t finish second though, if they dorp out of the top 4 that wouldn’t surprise me but barbtoo spot they’re all up for grabs, January is important now as Liverpool lay a gauntlet with regards to improving our weakness (money can be discussed all day so I won’t get into that) but Liverpool have shown their hand will anybody else make a move to try cement a top 4 spot? This January will be an interesting one.

28 Dec 2017 21:58:21
Jblp cout out vvd in. Certainly change the dynamic.

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Dec 2017 12:24:12
Steve i agree with you re Maitland-Niles. He should be given a run at DM, and should at least be ahead of Elneny and Coq for back up in that position. The same goes for Holding, Nelson, Beiliek etc. We all get obsessed with who we want to sign but i don't want new signings to be at the cost of our own youngsters. We will never know if they are good enough unless they get to play regularly in the first team.

28 Dec 2017 09:21:28
Over the past 3 seasons, Liverpool have bought about 6 Southampton players.

Surely they have earned enough loyalty points for a free Shane Long?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

Would have been cheaper to buy the entire club!
