Not transfer related! But does any1 know if the Asian tour, emirates cup and the friendly against man s***ty will b televised by Espn? Or any other tv channel available in the uk! Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Asia tour will most likely be available on the arsenal player only (on the website), whilst the emirates cup is usually only avalible with audio commentary (also on arsenal player. Not sure about the friendlies.

Evening Gooners. I'm a Rangers supporter, but just on to get an opinion from you guys on Jack Wilshere. Now, I am a MASSIVE fan of him. For me he has everything to go on and be one of the great midfielders in the history of English football, if not European football. He is that good. I was at the Emirates Cup in 2009 and he ripped us to shreds when we had good, experienced players like Pedro Mendes & Kevin Thomson falling over each other trying to stop him!

I think the fact that he has been so important to your team for a few years now, despite still being in his early 20's, speaks volumes. Every so often a player comes along who is so good that he just has to play no matter how young or inexperienced and they just take to it like a duck to water and don't look back, and Jack is one of those players. He is the most gifted footballer England have produced since Wayne Rooney and you are very lucky to have him. If he can get fit, stay fit and stay loyal to Arsenal then he could go on to become one of your greatest ever players in my opinion. He and Phil Jones are the future of English football.

However, do any of you fear his injury problems aren't going to go away? I know he ended up playing a fair few games last season, but to me he always looks like it's a matter of time before he has another long lay off. I fear his injury problems will continue and he won't fulfill his potential which would be a disaster for someone as talented as he is. I'm not an Arsenal fan or anything, Man United are my English team actually lol, but for the sake of football as a whole I hope my fears don't come true.

Thoughts?

GRD

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think that's every Arsenal fans fear. I'm not saying this because united are your English team, but I remember a few months back when Wilshere was out, and some united fans were trying to compare Wilshere and Cleverly some even said Cleverly was better and Jack was overrated. He really isn't. He really is a special player.
A season injury free and the unconverted soon will be.
And if England qualify for the world cup, Jack will be the only Englishman worth watching.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Awesome player, just think he will be injured for most of his career due to the way he runs almost on sides of his feet. Don't want to be negative and hope I am proven wrong but don't think he will become best in world due to being too injury prone

Agree0 Disagree0

Strange all this talk of Gourcuff. The manager of Lyon has stated that no-one has showed any interest in him (also that he was a player who didn't figure in the clubs future,, ergo he was available)

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Jun 2013 20:09:15
@flybo;

i didn't personally hear anyone make that comparison, but if true then it is ridiculous. cleverley gets a lot of stick from sections of the united support, but while I do think he is a decent player with potential to improve, he is nowhere near the level of wilshere. they are completely different players for a start. I love watching wilshere play, I think he would get a game for any team in world football. I have said for quite some time now that outside ronaldo, wilshere would be my dream signing for united. I think he's a bit unrealistic as my dream rangers signing lol. although I know he follows rangers, so maybe when he's in his 40's eh!

Wenger apparently wants Yoann Gourcuff to join Arsenal. Expect a bid made for him early next week.

Every transfer window we are linked with Gourcuff, doubt we will ever get him

Not a rumour but possibly related (tenously) Does anyone know if slaughter and law handle incoming as well as outgoing transfers? Reason I ask is had a lunch today with 2 sports associates who wouldn't tell me anything at all useful other than they're very busy, in a manner that can only be described as the cat that got the cream. I did press quite hard but they wouldn't offer anything. So wondered if their obvious smug mode relates to the possibility of someone coming in? Obviously, I'm adding 2&2 = a super super player coming in as that's what I want it to be so would welcome any steer on exactly what they do for the club? Tried googling but it's not very helpful.

CC

Believable0 Unbelievable0

To the best of my knowledge they deal with all contracts at the club, regardless?

So to sum up, you got the impression that they are "busy" and are possibly hiding something exciting? let's hope so!

Done all the work on the move from Highbury to Emirates. one of the main partners, in fact the most influential lawyer is a season ticket holder. Can't remember his name. I think these two guys are trying to make them self sound like they are in the no. Arsenal have always kept the deals quite. it's the third party agents that open their mouths. A friend of mine knows Neil Banfield very well, but Banfield doesn't say a thing. Carl jenkinson is presenting my sons Football team with their end if season awards tomorrow, but bet he won't know, or say a word. Years ago I was told Sol Campbell was going to sign for us. I didn't believe him. but it Happend. Not one person or newspaper carried that story. It must of come from Sky Andrew. The first any knew was when he was unvailed at the training ground with some other players. That's when Dein was at the club, he do e that deal as well as Bergkamp, platt, Overmars. That's what we lack know. time will tell, and this transfer window will tell a real story if it was Wenger or lack of money in the last few years. km

Safcdj

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Seems a bad choice imo, don't rate him and he won't be missed does not seem good enough for any prem team maybe di canio sees something I dont

spanner

Agree0 Disagree0

He is actually a decent keeper- good shot stopper - he just lacks concentration/focus at times which leads to mistakes. as we know for a keeper that can be costly! But he isn't bad and maybe a run of games will help him improve.

good luck!

Agree0 Disagree0

A number 2 keeper at best at the moment. A year playinging week in week out will obviously be beneficial for him, but if he is a replacement for Begovic then you aren't going to be to happy as you'll be comparing the two.
Hope he does well though.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

He's form during his stint in the stick for us recently shows he can be a top keeper. but without a loan or a longterm spell as a number 1. i'd say you have a 50/50 chance of having a dud and having a bargin

Agree0 Disagree0

Flybo what the heels Begovic got to do with it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Flybo means Mignolet. And I agree with his statement. As we all know in football confidence can change a player completely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sorry meant Mignolet. Thanks Partyrash for using a bit of common about my mistake. Others do not possess such gifts.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Needs to work on his concentration and positioning but certainly has potential. I believe given a good run of games and having a fellow Italian in manager Di Canio I think he could get possibly get the best out of him, it's one that could could go either way.

Good luck to him hope he serves you well, just not against us :)

anyone else think we should just keep szczesny for next season and spend big on a new centre back to replace mertesacker?

yes szczesny has his faults but what's the point in playing him these last 2 seasons as first choice to then demote him, only to have him back as first choice in a season or 2? I agree that he can be overconfident to the detriment of the team but I also like that about him. the rest of the team could be said to not inspire confidence so I reckon he is a good counterbalance to that. only going to improve. plus, look at de gea, first choice for united at a similar age.

and for all the mertesacker fans out there, I like him too. he has been very good for us this season (mostly) and i'm happy that he looks to be first choice next season too. just think he is not the best we could get. from the money we would save from not buying a goalie we might get a top quality defender to partner koscielny.

also want to see jenkinson starting over sagna next season

Hamilton

(was posting as Paul before but someone else posts as that)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Did you watch last season? Replacing Mertesacker is tactical suicide. Perhaps there are better defenders out there, but he and Koscielny are solid, and there is no guarantee that another player would fit into our system so perfectly.

Just on the Real Madrid website looking for confirmation of Higuain to Arsenal. Alas, as usual, the rumours are untrue. However, I decided to have a look at Higuain's league stats.

Higuain has scored 48 league goals in the last three seasons.

2010/11: 10 goals
2011/12: 22 goals
2012/13: 16 goals

These goals were scored from a total of 80 games. that's a goal every 1. 6 games. Not too bad!

However, if you take into consideration that (especially recently) he didn't start many games and was often subbed off in others, then his stats get even better.

He has played a total of 4, 597 minutes over the course of THREE seasons. To give you an idea of how much this is in real terms, Leighton Baines played 3, 420 minutes THIS season alone!
(All 38 league games)

Higuain's goals to minutes on the pitch ratio is one goal every 95 minutes! Pretty much a goal a game!

I think given a regular run in an Arsenal side that create lots of chances, he could be a monster of a goal machine!

Just the small matter of signing him now. haha!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree he is a brilliant player with very good statistics to his name. But I have to say that I think that the Spanish league is an easier league with not very good defending. So if we do sign him I wouldn't expect thoughs sorts of facts to continue. He will score goals, just not as many

So Vito Mannone is apparently being shipped off to Sunderland. Fabianski's contract, if I am correct (and i'm not 100%) was due to expire this month and there are suggestions Szczesny needs a mentor and competition.

Cesar has seemingly gone off the radar with Roma sniffing around and the player himself showing interest in moving back to Italy.

I for one, just wonder WHO Wenger is looking at in the goalkeeping department?

I would love Begovic but feel Stoke will price him out of a move. Mignolet has already been signed by the Scousers.

Anyone got any premier league keepers they would like?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think its all set up for Reina. But would be happy with Reina, Begovic or Handonovic

Agree0 Disagree0

Really? I think Begavic will move. Stoke signed Butler last window and Butler only moved on the premise of first team football.

Agree0 Disagree0

I think it'll be someone that hasn't been mentioned this window.

Mandanda
Frey
Handanovic
Landreau (free agent)
Schwarzer (free agent)

Then there's the options who have been mentioned. I just don't think we'll sign any of these guys if I'm honest.

Cesar
Adler
Valdes
Reina
Begovic

One guy I'd like us to go for is Igor Akinfeev.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ben Foster anyone?. he has prem league experiance, young and fits in with the english boys of Jack, Theo, Ox, Jenko and maybe Rooney. Devongooner / / / red army, red army!

Agree0 Disagree0

Szczesny is young. At the age of 30, Ben Foster is not young.

Agree0 Disagree0

No real problem with szczesny think could be one of the best, foster would be good as just competition don't believe will help getting new no1 as given regular football szczesny will only get better p. s u (-devon gooner which bit, near Exeter myself)

Guys, not really transfer related, but I have a question for all you gooners:
Emotional attachment aside, from a purely footballing point of view, would you rather have gotze or wilshere in your team?

As is said, hardly relevant, but I just thought it would be interesting to see who people rate more out of these two young talents.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Emotions aside, at this present time Gotze.
Merely down to Wilsheres' injuries, but if Wilshere has a couple of injury free seasons then you'll probably get a different response.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Still Wilshere. Don't get me wrong, Gotze is an incredible talent. But I think Jack's all round play is better.

I think Jack has more potential, but because of his injury he is not currently better than Gotze.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gotze just did a Van Persie on Dortmund, so no chance.
Also and more importantly, Wilshere will be a better, more complete player

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

To different players a better comparison to Goetze would be Isco.

Wilshere is a bit like Gerrard in the way he can put in a hard tackle and win back possession to start and attack.

I'd personally prefer Isco.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wilshere, Isco and Gotze mainly operate on the flanks at this early age whereas we put Jack smack in the middle of the pitch and funnel everything through him

Jack has that something of a different class, same thing we saw in Cesc from day one

Agree0 Disagree0

I haven't saw much of gotze he sounds amazing but with wilshere possesing fantastic dribbling passion and passing. I prefer Wilshere, at 19 he took on barcelona with iniesta xavi and busquets and came out on top. Once he improves shooting a little bit he will be the best in the prem and carry the England team on his back to glory

Bergkamp5353

ps just to make clear wilshire

Agree0 Disagree0

Although they are different players I'd prefer Wilshere as he can dictate the play in the middle of the park and has great composure and drive through the middle. He has more all around to his game than Goetze.

After Arshavin, D'Jourou and Bendtner and Campbell last season, we already seem far down the same line with D'Jourou again, Gervinho, and possibly Campbell for the 3rd year, with Park and Chamakh waiting in the wings for later this window.
It's the dreaded loan system, so beloved by all at the Emirates. We, Arsenal, continue to pay the wages and possibly collect a fee, but a permanent transfer never ever seems to materialise. Meanwhile, the players run a year off their contracts, thus reducing their potential transfer value.
To take a young lad like Campbell, halfway across the world, farm him out for 2 years to France/Spain to ensure he gets a work permit, then consider loaning him out to West Ham/Crystal Palace as he is not quite "the finished article" is morally obscene.
If we are so happy to accept the loan system when we are trying to get players off the payroll, why don't we use it when we are trying to buy players. Playing the system seems to work for others.
My suggestion therefore is to approach Madrid, Manchester United and Everton and offer to take Higuian, Rooney and Fellaini on loan for a year "with a view to a permanent transfer. "
If they don't work out, we don't take up the option.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Haha tell me one thing. Would you loan out Cazorla? why on earth would they? they don't even want to sell. My apologies if I missed any sarcasm, but this is a senseless post

Agree0 Disagree0

I understand what you are saying but disagree with regards to Joel Campbell.

Firstly we have had to wait fir the work permit as this kid is pretty special.

I know he has not set the world alight in France / Spain on loan but that is not where he wants to be/ we want him to be!

I think the fact he has got hhis permit us a very good thing. I think it will make him feel his has finally got over the last hurdle.

Secondly Campbell playing for either West Ham or Crystal Palace will give him the experience he needs to get used to the pace and physicality of the EPL.

Also Zaha has left CP and he could easily replace that lost talent if he plays to his abundant natural talent.

If he goes to West Ham then playing off a big forward like theirs again will do him wonders.

Last but not least it gives him a platform to learn and develop. Lukaku didn't exactly fail to benefit last year on loan did he?

Wherever he goes we should be right behind him and making him feel we, the Arsenal fans are behind him, have faith in him and want him to succeed because we want him to succeed for us in the near future!

I'm new to this site but I have been following it for a while and have supported Arsenal for over 50 years since I was 6. I think the time must have come by now where we have got to stop quibbling over a few quid here and there and actually put our hands in our pockets and buy some players. I agree with some posts that Arsene is running the place which makes me wonder is he a football manager first or an accountant. We need to be able to show we can compete this season and stop buying make do players. Yes I know we have Cazorla but we were lucky to get him that was only because they needed the money badly. Anyhow as the saying goes you can keep saving money and be the richest person in the graveyard or in our case the richest team in the graveyard!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Has it not occurred to you that it is only becuase of wenger's fruglness that we are finally in the position to compete financially!

Woke up to read a horrible story today that Arsenal were putting the Higuain deal on hold to find a better striker (Wayne Rooney).

Now I wasn't going to post anything today I was intending on waiting until Monday evening about Higuain but this false rumour has deceived many true Arsenal fans already and I feel to set things straight.

Higuain's deal to join Arsenal is done. He has chosen us ahead of Napoli, Juventus etc and will become an Arsenal player until you hear any quotes from the player of directly from Arsenal saying otherwise don't be worried especially if you've heard he is being offered to Tottenham and not us.

Rooney is a player Arsenal are interested in and we will put a bid in for him, but Arsene Wenger sees him as second striker to play behind Higuain for Arsenal. Arsenal having seemingly ended their interest in Jovetic and are trying to sign Rooney which if he was to play in that role could do extremely well plus it would give us another England International in our team.

Cesar will not be joining us it would appear Wenger has decided to look at other options and we have had a bid rejected for Grenier.

Fellani deal should be finalized next week. Syk news reported we allegedly met his 22m buy out clause and so can now speak to the player and negotiate a deal. Arsenal would create a suitable package for the Belgian star to join Arsenal.

All the best hope you win the epl and I am glad we won't meet you in qualifiers in cl as we are seeded as well :) group stages I wouldn't mind be a great occasion. GGTD

Believable0 Unbelievable0

We won't pay an agent fee like that.

Agent fees are believed to be the main reason behind why we didn't sign Ba in January. Rumours said that we offered the same wages as Chelsea, but were not willing to pay off all of his hangers on!

Churchill Gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal will not sign wanyama, if agent fees is the hold up. wenger will not sanction such moves, and he has spoken against the agent manipulating clubs to make money for themselves at the cost of the players.

if I remember correctly at a press conference he defined agents as :

A few points from a grounded Gooner -
1) Higuain will either happen or not. If he comes, great. If not, we will get someone else. Last year we got Podolski and Giroud - I wasn't unhappy with those 2.
2) He won't go to Spurs - they won't pay 125/150k a week, they don't offer CL football and unless they sell Bale don't have the cash.
3) If not Higuain there are plenty of others available, some more realistioc than others - I wouldn't be unhappy with any of Rooney/Benteke/Cavani/Dzeko/Lewondowski/Gomez/Jovetic. All have th epotential to be fantastic signings.
4) Fellaini would be a huge hit at Arsenal. Takes pressure off the unsuited defensive mids, givs Arteta a break, would work brilliantly with Wilshire as 2 in front of defense whilst also chipping in with goals, something Ramsey/Arteta etc have struggled with this season. 22m is a lot of cash for us, but that's the price of success these days.
5) The big clubs don't always get what they want - think City and RVP last season. Arsenal can't alays be blamed for not buying certyain players - Mata/Hazard spring to mind. I would guess so much goes on behind closed doors that we are not aware of as fans, and in many cases we'd agree that the club did the right thing.
6) My personal wish list - a striker from the list above, Fellaini, and a wide left mid/attacker. Keep everyone else that plays a decent role last year.
7) a team i'd like to start with next season
Sczesny, Sagna, Mert, Kos, Gibbs, fellaini, Wilshire, Walcott, Cazorla, pod (or new winger- not Nani) new striker. We'd be better than for years.

Rob G

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree with you 99%. - great post.

Take Gomez out that list and I'm all in lol (not a fan at all).

Especially agree on the Mata/Hazard front, yes I wanted them, yes they're good but Chelski had their pants truly taken down on price AND wages - on you go boys.

Scezza and Sagna have a lot to prove for me next season and I'd rather see them have to fight for their place than be 1st choice as I'd like to see us add quality in two areas I believe cost us dearly last term.

I'd have Cesar all day long and this Serge Aurier chap looks like a goodun so, why not.

Feels better to be a Gooner during the transfer window than it has for a long, loooong, time!

There appears to be no change whatsoever in our transfer policy and tactics, by the stubborn Wenger.
So far we have released players & appear to have signed one cheap young French player of promise, which hasn't yet been confirmed by the club.
I believe we will only sign replacements for Sagna, Vermaelen & Gervinho, if any of them depart.
I think we will keep the same keepers, possibly with Mannone departing. Defensive replacements acquired only if Sagna and/or Vermaelen depart.
In midfield we may sign a defensive player and Gervinho, may be replaced. An additional forward may be signed.
Therefore, Wenger is at present, in my opinion, only looking for a defensive midfield player & a forward. He will try, as usual to purchase bargains. I have a feeling this will be Wenger's last season at the club, before a return to France.
It's such a shame, because if we added the following to the current 1st team squad, we could once again challenge for honours:
Begovic, Williams, Fellaini, Nani, Anderson (Man U) & Jevotic.

When I started reading this, I was sure this was some kind of a joke, and the name Anderson confirmed it

What a cute dark little cloud above your head, thanks for sharing.

Firstly the window isn't even open yet. Secondly how do you know its Wenger it could well be Gazidis. Finally why not sign off on your post!

Agree0 Disagree0

Clearly I hit a few raw nerves! Alas, my comments have a horrible ring of truth about them. In respect of the Gazidis comment, it is blatantly obvious that Wenger runs the club from top to bottom and to think otherwise is simply wrong. We haven't confirmed one signing to date and I doubt very much whether stubborn Wenger will deviate from his beliefs. Unless he changes course and signs the sort of players I mention, without selling the likes of Sagna, Vermaelen & Gervinho, we will fail to challenge for a trophy & will struggle to finish top four.

Rob the Gooner, no raw nerve just hate reading stupid irrelevant posts. Explain to us how you got your knowledge of how AFC is run.

Its more than just a cute dark cloud its more of a thunder storm of negativity over your head, you really need to lighten up.

You may dislike Wenger we all have our opinion but at least wait until the window is open. I am sure you will regret your comments once the window opens!

Agree0 Disagree0

Rob mate,
you're the polar opposite of the guy who sits in front of me that used to wear a Senderos shirt (we reckon it was his dad lol).

He could see no wrong but you don't seem to see anything right and your solution is more of a problem than the problem - which we ALL accept exists!

Yes we need players but all of Usmanov AND Abramovich's billions wouldn't make me look twice at half the players you mention.

Fellaini looks done so happy days.
Higuain over Jovetic any day.

Better options than all the others out there.

As for Wenger - I hope he takes Fergies fergietime record for managing on the top flight because he's the best thing that ever happened to us - sure, he has his flaws, but the pros VASTLY outweigh the cons.

KEEP THE FAITH!

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul V - You don't have to be a genius to work out how the club is run and who is running it. last season we sold RVP & Song for approx £42m & brought in Cazorla, Podolski & Giroud for a similar figure. Wenger has stated that a football club should be run as a profitable business. I cannot imagine anyone dictating to Wenger how to run the club. When Keith Edelman stated that Wenger had £100m at his disposal, he was moved out very quickly. Remember my words, which of course won't be precise, but will echo the methods used by Wenger. Those who suggest that Kronke & Gazidis dictate to Wenger, are so wide of the mark its unbelievable.

But wouldn't we be competing with Bayern for him. And I can't see him choosing us over the CL winners. And he said himself that he wants to join them

I'd like to buy you a beer at the Villa game mate!

I'll even buy you an extra one for each of Fellaini, Higuain, Rooney and Lew if they're Arsenal players by then!

People slate you but you help me keep believing!

Serge Aurier the 21 year old right back from Toulouse has been posted wearing an Arsenal Shirt while he is on holiday after a lot of speculation with us linked to him.

This is interesting as surely we will not have Sagna, Jenko and Aurier in one team, and the talks of Sagna signing on has cooled.

I think with this Sagna will go (He was really poor last season) With the two youngsters fighting out for a place.

Don't get me wrong, I'd be happy for Sagna to stay but. Don't think he will and he did let us down badly last year - especially with THAT foul and subsequent penalty FFS!

I'm more than happy for Jenko to learn on the job next season - he's shown incredible promise and is as true a Gooner as anyone in history.

Give the boy a chance - he won't let us down!

Someone posted the other day about us leaving it late in the window to sign players so as to save on the wages in the holiday period. Surely signing the right quality of players and paying them during them during their breaks would pay dividends come the end of the season with potential of a trophy or a higher league finish! higher league position = more money? crazy if you ask me.

I wonder what results a poll would bring up if it asked how many fans have as much faith now as they did 4 weeks ago that this summer Arsenal would be going big. I swear one day I am all 'we're going big! Have faith! This is our summer!' and the next it's all 'we're not signing these decent players are we?'

Isco £23m
Schurrle £17m
Wanyama £10m
Thiago £16m is it?
Williams £10m

These are not expensive players but we aren't signing them. And any deal that takes over a month to hash out, imo, stinks and probably won't happen. Wenger proved on numerous occasions he can get deals done in a day if he wants, so why the hold up with Higuain?

Bayern Munich, Man City, Liverpool, spurs and Chelsea all need strikers. I am not sure there are enough strikers to go round! Do I have faith that we will land Higuain over, say, Munich? Not at all. Is that wrong to think that? No. They will pay what it takes to get the guy they think they need. Who else could those clubs sign? Cavani, then who? Damiao? Sow?! Lewandowski?

Spurs may be spending over the odds, but at least they are prepared to do what it takes to bring players to the club. David Villa and Paulinho look as good as done - who's next? For a non-CL club they always show ambition with the level of their targets and as much as people hate AVB he knows what he's doing.

People mocking Liverpool as well but they are showing real promise in the market. They're addressing all their areas of weakness in one window and some of their targets, like Mkhitaryan, are pretty genius.

Then us? We literally have the pick of the bunch but get nowhere. We are crying out for a decent left-sided mid or one to come into the centre so Santi can play wide. We could offer any striker a starting spot. We could offer any DM a starting spot too. We've got money, can afford to compete on wages, so why aren't we seeing big moves made? I appreciate clubs need to get replacements sorted first but this isn't August, we're in June!

Someone restore my faith please!

"This time next year Rodders. We'll be MILLIONAIRES. "

That's how I define it lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

Metal.

I share your anguish but I actually believe that as a team and a club we have turned a corner and thus will be proven this year.

I know everyone wants big names but I think we will get Higuain. I think Eisfeld will come into the first team.

I hope we get Gonalons or Capoue (gone real quiet on him) or the defensive Bender brother.

Sneeky feeling maybe Tello from Barca maybe? Hope so.

Would line Sakho as I think he might want pastures new.

Definitely think we will try very hard for Grenier. Not sure it will come off.

But for some reason I have this strange belief that things will be less stressful and more Our Arsenal of years gone by.

Kepp the faith. Wenger truly hasn't let us down yet. We have a great stadium, have spent net bugger all and have the most consistent CL record for being in the competition of any club for the last 20 years.

So imagine what we / he will do with money

Morning All,

I was just thinking about Wanyama and Celtic accepting a bid from Southampton, according to reports that is, seems pretty genuine anyway.

We have been linked with him for two windows with money being the stumbling block, again by all accounts.

So, window open or not I'm hoping that we are not again penny pinching on a player that Arsene by all accounts wanted at the club.

Appreciate targets change and he may no longer be on the radar but I so want us to go the extra mile if we have too and really get rid of the Scrooge mentality.

Eds is he still someone we're looking at? Thanks.

He turned down Southampton, Cardiff are now looking, suprised some of the bigger boys are not. Lennon has also conceded defeat in keeping him. Cheeky 8m bid should get him. Would be a great addition and add some much needed depth.

Wanyama has a greedy agent. He wants 1m. We don't deal with those types of agents.
