Giroud - 100 goals in 237 games. Quality striker in my eyes.

Only 20 goals behind bergkamp now πŸ¦‚.

That's a poor record compared to the best finisher in the league in Harry Kane he's on 108 in much lesser games. I will admit giroud is underrated though dags.

29 Sep 2017 10:47:29
Kane is the English giroud.

Kane is the only striker you've got raver, your game plan is pass it to Kane!

It's working quite well for them though isn't it GB?

G62, short term thinking. Sure it works now, but what happens when he leaves next season?

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2017 14:11:07
But what if he doesn't leave Sharpie? What if he spontaneously combusts? What if he slips into another dimension and returns with his other dimensional twin and Spurs suddenly have 2 Harry Kanes?
So many possibilities so many unanswered questions :-)
What we do know is right here right now he is as good as any team could hope to have, if Lacasette first 3 seasons are as good as Harry boys were certainly won't be complaining.

G62, as much as I like you, you are starting to sound like RG61. With regards Kane, it's not a matter of IF but WHEN.

Fair play shapie :-) as with Ox time will tell.
Should Ox shine for Liverpool later in the season and Harry make it 4 our of 4 top scoring seasons for Spurs next season, I will be sure to remind you and should neither of these things happen I'm hoping you might Jogg my memory too mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

29 Sep 2017 22:15:54
G62, I'm not saying Harry won't bang in the goals this season. I'm saying he's too good for the toot and that he will likely not be there next season.

And I won't remind you mate. I'm not the kinda gut who likes saying, "I told you so". :)

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2017 08:44:49
If Ox doesn't shine at Liverpool by the end of this season and Harry is no longer a Spurs player next season Sharpie I'm going to remind you to remind me :-)
If I'm wrong I expect nothing less than my every post next season to be ridiculed and if you won't do it I will have to do it myself :-)
A simple Ox? Or Harry? In reply to my every comment would be the least I'd expect :-)

I see another past it wrinkly got sacked. Even Bayern get it wrong. I will bet the next manager will be younger, they won't make the same mistake twice. All the top teams have younger managers.

Another good result from the second string. This Europa league is easy isn't it, gives the stiffs and the kids a nice blow out. Thought Wilshire done good but our defending again, very scary.

Agree Stevè.
Good performance and result.

Bearing in mind we didn't have Cech, koscielny, Bellerin, Monreal, Kolasinac, Xhaka, Coquelin, Ramsey, Ozil, Welbeck, Sanchez and Lacazette, I thought we did great.

29 Sep 2017 06:32:52
If a team as poor as United were last season playing there first team can win it then hell yeah we can win it with our 2nd string.

Home from home for them this season pulling that Europa League group out of the Champions league hat.

Sitting in my Belgravia mews house with a bottle of Krug Grand Cuvee, waiting for kick off against Batey Boys, raver61's real favourite team and the where his mum acquired her rusty old death trap Subaru. 1961, yes 1961!

Sensible call from Wenger to leave behind all the likely staring players for the Brighton match, with the exception of Mustafi and Elneny. Mustafi was forced upon Wenger as with Chambers injured we have no other option. Quite rightly Wenger stated that the players selected have an opportunity to press a claim for a future start in the first eleven. It will be a tough match with so many players rested, but the Brighton match clearly takes priority, with the possibilty of making ground on the six teams above us, most of whom have been competing in the CL and may suffer from fatigue and could drop points. In addition Chelsea play City, so points will be dropped for sure.

We have no chance of the League.
Would rather make Europa League our main target.

Win EL and automatically qualify for Champs League, ala Man Utd.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2017 09:43:50
I believe Wenger is prioritising a top four finish and back into the CL and of curse the FA Cup!
In respect of the EL, in the earlier rounds it is an opportunity to play squad players and youngsters. However, he may put out a stronger team, if we progress to the later rounds.
Hopefully tonight's team will be strong enough to secure at least a draw.
The main thing is to have the first eleven fit for Sunday.

Spot on Dags, 4 is the absolute best we can realistically get and even then we are going to be locked in a 3 way battle we will possibly lose out on anyway.
We should treat the Europa league and the league cup with respect as they are real touchable feelable trophies that the rest of the world can see too not just us :-)

Agree1 Disagree1

28 Sep 2017 12:28:36
The europa league involves some pretty long trips so obviously needs to be balanced to fit in and around the league too, but after Sunday we go into an international break so who exactly are we saving our best players for? Arsenal or their country?
We need to see every competition as an opportunity like city Chelsea and Utd do, they all treat the league cup with respect and all have won it in recent seasons plus Chelsea and Utd have both treated the europa league with respect and won that also.
It's only us who look down our noses at and see ourselves as above such things, and how is that working out for us so far? :-)

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Sep 2017 15:40:36
This really infuriates me.

If the fa cup offered a CL place all teams would take it seriously and try to win it. Why is the EL any different?

Agree0 Disagree1

28 Sep 2017 15:56:00
Well it's definatly a serious trophy now the great Manchester United have won it! I wouldn't have touched it until last year. It's almost like the unpopular girl at school who gets made popular once the cool kid has talked to her! Don't be infuriated Chris your much better than that mate 😒.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2017 16:18:09
I'm sorry, but everyone stating we should take it seriously? Its the group stage, all we have to do is finish top 2, we won the first game, i couldn't care less if we lose this game assuming we beat brighton, we should win all our home games in this group and qualify with ease.

Agree2 Disagree0

28 Sep 2017 16:46:31
The fact remains who and what exactly are we saving our players for?
Throw everything we've got at the imaginary 4th place trophy, while Chelsea Utd City give there all in every competition that carries a real trophy?
Big clubs have given up on taking some competitions lightly hence if you look at the names on the league cuo in recent seasons it includes city utd Chelsea then if you look at the last 4 clubs to win a premier league 3 very familiar names crop up there too and some and one that is of particular interest to us is missing from both.
A winning mentality it seems is needed through out the season and maybe it's not something you can switch on and off like a tap after all, surely we've tried doing it our way for long enough and maybe just maybe those 3 clubs do know something we don't after all?
Same old Arsenal? Or try a different approach? Really what exactly do we have to lose except a trophy only we can see if we're lucky ?

Agree0 Disagree3

28 Sep 2017 16:50:43
Talked to her lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

28 Sep 2017 17:06:12
No it should be considereal a trophy full stop. Your cabinet is hardly loaded with them lately is it?

Who knows it might kick start a winning mentality at the club.

But screw it throw it away in the hope u get 4th πŸ‘that will please everyone who pays their hard earned money to support.

Agree2 Disagree2

28 Sep 2017 17:37:15
Old habits take some shifting Chris mate and the 4th place mentality remains embedded through out the club from top to bottom.
Our way will work and if doesn't then we will just pretend it did and invent a trophy for where ever we finished :-)
Some are up for trying something different and learning from others but most are content to stick to the same old tried and failed routine.

Agree1 Disagree0

28 Sep 2017 21:06:57
Chris I've heard some on here that have previously moaned about the 4th place trophy and now are lauding forth as an achievement . Don't take too much heed to fickle football fans mate! It goes with the territory . And if I'm been honest it was a good thing for you last year and has indeed kick started your move forward so I don't quibble your sentiment one bit mate but just take into consideration the mentality that goes around football banter and not let it anywhere near reality old boy πŸ‘.
