You maybe right, big stadium. Mopo says he is going to sign.
But is it free, or do you guys have to pay for it.
Watch your season tickets.
Levy is panicking, Mopo comes out and issues a come and get me to PSG.
When you sat top club in England, does that mean you will be runners up to Swansea
You don't become a big club over night it takes years. And the big English five will pick off your young starlets as we wish.
Watch you don't do a Leeds. Champions league, O'Leary signs a 5yr deal, Built on young English lads.

I see raver is stalking us Gooners again.
May I remind him that the Toot have won absolutely nothing this season and their manager hasn't won anything in 8 years as a manager. Their stadium isn't built, they are still housed in a 36,000 championship style cowshed. Although in all likelyhood they will finish above us for the first time in decades, it is not yet guaranteed.
Even this season, they have failed to beat us, they were knocked out of the League Cup at home to us and fell in an earlier round in the FA Cup. We can't compare European competion as we were in the Champions League and they were only in the second rate Europa League.
Next season will be far harder for them and Leicester for that matter. Most of the Toot's players will be at the Euros and expectations will be higher in general. With the big boys hiring new top managers an Liverpool likely to improve under Klopp. Arsenal will hopefully have major players fit next season, poorer players released or sold and at least a couple of signings, which should improve the team.
Can anyone remind me when the Toot last won a competition, never mind the title, way back in 1961, when most us weren't even born! The pain at the lane, just goes on.

{Ed025's Note - and maybe shergar will win the derby SLB.. :)

Arsenal Win at home to Norwich - Toot draw away to Chelsea - gap closes to 3 points
Arsenal win away to Man C - Toot draw home to Southampton - Toot 1 point ahead
Arsenal win at home to Villa - Toot draw away to Newcastle - Arsenal finish 1 point ahead.

Arsenal should win both home matches - The City game is the tricky one, but City will have had a difficult away match to Real Madrid, possibly losing, suffering fatigue from recent schedule and injuries. Silva is already injured, as is Toure.
Toot - Chelsea will do them no favours. Southampton are fighting for a Europa League place and the Toot may have already lost the title, they are without Alli for the final 3 matches. Newcastle away will be difficult as they are fighting relegation and have improved under Benitez.

I doubt the above will happen, but it is not out of the question yet. It would be the funniest thing if we somehow scrape 2nd place.

30 Apr 2016 21:36:35
I'm not clutching at them ed but it is not as impossible as you think and the thought is nice. If the foxes seal the deal tomorrow it would squeeze the last bit of air out of the toots already deflated balloon coupled with the fact of the teams they are playing and if there isn't enough incentive anymore for the toots and all three remaining opponents will be fighting no deli Ali it really isn't do unthinkable. Just imagine! I would torture those toots all summer long 👍🏻.

Fair play Welsh mate, I'm a completely rubbish businessman and I'm about to start a new job next week as my attempt to go it alone has proved less that successful than Arsene's attempts to do up his coat or sign HiguZemma :- ( but hey ho maybe I can take over your business when you retire or are you saving that position for a certain someone who might become less busy next summer mate :-)

Since 2007 we've spent £231m on stadoum financing £147m on interest and £85m debt repayment.

This seems like madness to me. We're paying nearly twice as much in interest than the debt. By the time we pay off the loan we could have build the stadium nearly 3 times!

Obviously I'm no investment banker. Is there anyone that can explain to me if we've gotten a good or a bad deal in terms of such a loan. And the penalties for early payment are supposed to be massive also.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

29 Apr 2016 18:49:58
That is just how finance works, its the same for everyone. The first years are spent paying off interest before the balance is cleared in effect. As far as i'm aware the funding from highbury and emirates airlines are paying for the stadium. All clubs borrow money wether it be for new stadium or upgrading. When we have paid for the stadium there will be something else, there always is.

Loans are structured in different ways, I am not certain where you obtained your figures from? However, I can assure you at the time Arsenal did as good a deal as they could. Don't forget, in any event the interest part of the loan is set against tax, so our tax liabilities have been greatly reduced, The amazing thing is that we have built the stadium at a very difficult time and have £200m in the bank.
Money isn't a problem at the club, it is Arsene Wenger's willingness to spend it. He believes, quite rightly, that football clubs are businesses and should be run as such, with a profit at the end of each financial year. However, a couple more signings in the summer, wouldn't have gone amiss.

I am one for change, but a SMART change, not a rash one.

Look at Man Utd/ Chelsea and think long and hard. I want someone from within, someone who knows the players, the club, etc.

The premier league is brutal and unforgiving. Ask Mourinho.

For me we need a new number two and a David Dein replacement.
So as the new manager takes over next year as our greatest ever manager steps down.
When you think he has won more in 20yrs than our greatest rivals have, with all their managers.
Lord Wenger has cast a shadow over our rivals.

Welsh: TOTALLY agree on David Dein.

I think has become a jack of all trades master of none.

He is running summer training camps in Veitnam, while trying to negotiate transfers.

I remember he was at the barnet friendly when we missed out on Xabi Alonso.

Dick Law for me is still the lawyer that can do the paperwork, but not the negotiator.

I'm going to chime in with a silly suggestion. The ex Southampton ceo as a director on the board initially rather than a new manager.

He transformed Southampton, found poch, stabilised the club and paid ridiculous attention to detail. Transfer dealings were neat and efficient, swift replacements were found when needed.

A progressive club director has surely got to be as important as a manager given wenger is one of a few (if not the only one) who deals with so much. A new manager would be destined to fail without competent help would he not?

" the home atmosphere cost us the title " youve got to admit it does sound ever much like he's blaming the fans?
Obviously it wouldn't even occur to him his own 3 summer months of total inaction had part to play in our usaul non competitiveness this season.
Whos advising him on what to say to the media, Ant and Dec?

Agree2 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 17:30:15
In the away only league we are 3rd 7 points worse than leaders Leicesters despite playing 1 game more than them,
In the home only league we are 5 points behind top team Leicester but having played a game less which if we win would put us in 2nd place 2 points adrift of top spot.
I fail to see as Arsene says this makes us away league champions or how it's home form that's cost us the title when both Spurs and Leicester have better away records than us but only Leicester have a better home record?
Ant and Dec been writing his material on this too no doubt.

Gunner, its not wengers fault, he has done everything right. The fans have lost us the title, they buy the players, pick the team, do the tactics, oh sorry no they dont, they put them silly banners up that has ruined our chances again, just like other seasons when we failed to put a challenge in. let's change the fans. Arrogance of the highest level.

I like Keoman, I don't think it matters that he hasn't won anything, it's the attitude and potential that matters. I remember when Wenger was appointed and everybody said who. Everyone I spoke to at the time was appalled that Cruyff wasn't the manager and we had this unknown "German" instead! Just sayin'.

Agree5 Disagree0

29 Apr 2016 17:24:02
Very amused. So the fans want Kronke to sell his shareholding, Usmanov to buy them, Dein to return, Wenger to go and sign 5 or 6 world class players. It ain't going to happen. Realistically Wenger will remain for at least the last year of his deal and 2 top players will arrive. Instead of moaning about the club, realise just how close we are to the top. We could easily finish 3rd, top of the big boys. Next season mediocre clubs such as Leicester and the Toot will find things so much harder, with he added burden of playing CL football, higher expectations in general, players poached by bigger clubs, more players playing in the Euros, the Community shield, etc. Now get behind Wenger and the team for the remaining 3 matches. Win all three and 3rd place is guaranteed, possibly even 2nd place. I am becoming increasingly embarrassed by fellow Arsenal fans turning on the higheracy at the club. We are Arsenal fans and we support the club come what may. To think the fans want the likes of Martin O'Nelll, Koeman and Warbuton to succeed on of the modern eras great managers. It beggars belief.

Agree3 Disagree5

29 Apr 2016 17:30:24
No, no, no. If Wenger departs, which I pray he doesn't, we need a top manager, ideally Ancelloti, Guardiola or Mourinho. Possibly Simeone, If he now speaks English. The problem is that these managers are nigh on impossible to get. The suggestions fans are making are woeful, nowhere near the level require to improve on Wenger's record. Fans live in cuckoo land, imagining a fantasy football where managers that haven't won a thing can suddenly be better than Wenger who had an awesome record.
