{Ed025's Note - a good chance i would suspect mate..

I don't know anything about him, can anyone enlighten me please? what we've been looking for or another cheapie?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - polish international eden, decent player but not a worldie mate..

I've seen him play, both for Sevilla and Remis, and he's very good. Very tall, very physical, still quite young, so he's got time to improve. He's not a bad distributor of the ball either. I'd probably prefer Schneiderlin to him, but if he is not available, then I think he could be a great shout.

By the way, sorry for only calling him 'him', but his name is a real bother.

Agree0 Disagree0

Standard wenger then ala flamini on a free rather than matic for 20 mil

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - at least he is a proper DM eden, and for my money a better shout than flamini or arteta...but nothing is agreed yet mate..

Yeh fair one mate, I was just thinking the difference between going for the title and settling for fourth. but yeh fingers crossed a DM and CB who are solid come in. if he brings two first teamers in it would change the whole complexion of the team for me. just hope we don't get a couple stop gaps on the wage bill that don't really add a lot

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he would improve the team imo eden, just dont bank on him yet though mate..

I never bank on anything mate have no fear! ever the pessimist :P

28th of December is the Spanish equivalent of April Fool's Day - the Dia de los Santos Inocentes!
So no, he won't be signing for us :'(

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i hear thats the case LT, but he is interested in joining the PL, and arsenal is his preferred destination..make of that what you will mate..

By all accounts Dec 28th in Spain is our aquivilant of April fools and he has said it was a joke.

Everyone is reporting it as a transfer prank.

Agree0 Disagree0

Standard. that's about right .

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair I know nothing of him but if he's a proper DM and Ed025 says he's ok it has to be step in the right direction, at the very least it would be recognition of the problem and an attempt to right a wrong

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks for the nod Red, hey ho it was a nice thought while it lasted :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Haha bloomin' typical

The fact that a few on here know nowt about the bloke is a tad worrying.

Totally agree Banbury mate, but anyone who is a DM and was born and DM and comes from along Long line of DMs from both sides of his family would at least be an admission of their continued existence and be reason alone for hope of one day having one in our team again.
To actually try and sign one would be lovely but to actually achieve it would be nothing short of emotional

I think we have firmed up a bit in the last few games, I think we'll beat Southampton and then crush Hull properly in the cup.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think soton will be really tough game. If we can be more clinical in front of goal I can see us winning it but can picture us needing at least 3

anyone still doing the old fantasy football? and what do you think is cisse likely to get a lengthy ban for that elbow and if so is jovetic fit enough to start and worth a gamble

Top of the morning to you gents!

Really happy about the last 2 results. The ending has been tense but we have shown the resolve to hold on for a result. We have had a poor start to the season and the fact that we have somehow clawed ourselves to 5th shows some character in the boys. Sanchez is superman, he is fantastic. Hard running, dribbling, scoring. He has been phenomenal and I dread to think what will become of us if he ever was to pick up a knock. Mertesacker and Koscielny back together and I must say they did very well yesterday. Of course we will have the occassional scare as this is football, but all in all, I think they handled the Westham attack quite well.

The most stressful period for Arsenal fans is about to be upon us. Another transfer window beckons. As much as I would love us to break the bank and sign 2 defenders and a CDM, I am going to assumee that Wenger will sign noone so I do not get any heartbreak and disappointment. No reading rumours for me, I do not think I will be able to handle the disappointment at the end of the window when we end up signing some obscure player from the Armenian 2nd division.

So far we are joint on points with So'ton, and 3 away from United with another 19 games to go. I think 3rd is very realistic and Wenger should do what is takes to give us a good push for 3rd. I never was worried by Westham and So'ton because they are good teams, but they are punching above their weight (no disrespect intended).

PS I thought Song was pants yesterday. Because of the fact that he had not shown signs of celebration before his goal was disallowed, I would consider taking him back if the option was available :P

For me wiliam carvalho and Winston Reid would represent a reasonable January. Cover in the 2 most important positions. Reid could adequately cover kos and carvalho is a step up in quality to what we have.
There will have to be a few departures. Even if loans either Campbell or podolski, maybe coquelin. We have so much depth up front with theo returning to full fitness, ozil due back soon and wenger likes sanogo whose barely had a look in. Both Campbell and pod need more game time and it doesn't look like happening here.

Having watched them both my opinion is they would be pointless stop gaps, Carvalho came onto the scene with a bang but has looked pretty ordinary to me since then in a fairly weak league. Ridiculously high buy out clause too.

We can afford and should be buying much better quality.

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd take Reid now and a world class defender j the summer. Carvalho I'm unsure off not seen much but ccan he handle the prem pace

Get wanyama in

Agree0 Disagree0

Not convinced by either of them. Would prefer Van Dijk & Schneiderlin or and Sissoko.

Agree0 Disagree0

Fabien Delph is available on a free come the end of the season, given AW recent preference for young English players I can see that happening given the chance. I think he's developed into a very good holding midfielder too, I'd like to see him at AFC. Vlaar from Villa is also a decent buy, a fully committed leader at the back and far more mobile than Mert. I think Villa would be absolutely mad to sell both but given their personal circumstances (out of contract or playing in a team far below their true level) I can't see them hanging on to them for very long.

Agree0 Disagree0

Just reading begavic is a free agent this summer . I think he's s solid goalie

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Someone is teasing you.}

I thought that he had a longer deal eds. Was in a paper today and thought surely not

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - The papers know how gullible football fans are and were probably just having a joke with you for the holidays.}

No to Carvalho for me, would rather someone like schneiderlin or bender, however unrealistic that may be.

Agree0 Disagree0

Paper talk is part of the fun. Love the rumours

It's almost become great theatre in that for weeks we see nor hear a thing about Diaby and Gnabry and out of the blue they appear on Physioroom with injuries, Diaby a calf strain and Gnabry and knee injury.

Amazingly neither have a return date. Concerned about Gnabry because he's been out for ever with this mysterious knee injury, made a brief appearance with Theo for the U21's months ago, then nothing again.

I think it will not be for years to come and only then under the freedom of information act that we finally find out what's been going on at the top secret base known as "London Colney" :-)

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Concerns me too, although a pal of mine who recently saw Gnabry who had a knee brace on.
I recall at the start of the season Gnabry refused to go out on loan, perhaps he is being punished by Wenger? Abou Diaby is positively odd, he can't have been injured with a calf strain for so long.

Agree0 Disagree0

Unless he picked up another calf strain robbie? Wouldn't be that surprising.
