A barca 'source' if you wanna call them that, stated that Sanchez would ideally prefer to stay at barca and compete with Neymar, Pedro and Messi for a starting role in that front 3, but barca would like to sell and his agent is ok with that idea.
And if Sanchez has to leave, his preferred destination is us!
Hope that's true, as Sanchez would be a next level addition for us.

So fellas, I've seen a lot of u asking for a new DM. The Southampton spider guy is being linked a lot, but I honestly feel the best player you could sign in that spot is medel, and he would be much cheaper. He was a solid player last season and this World Cup has just made me more of a believer. What are your thoughts?

He's been a top rate centre back in a system of 3 centre backs at the World Cup, not a system arsenal have adopted, he wasn't bad for Cardiff but he's hardly the world class pedigree that we need to push on to the next level. no disrespect to the bloke, he is very good

I'm a bit disappointed that any possible Balotelli move seems to be a no go now, but if we were to pick up Sanchez, i'd be just as happy!

with our current 'Links' I have to say, Sanchez, Schniderlin, Aurier and Remy would actually make me fairly happy!

However.
does anyone else fear that IF (and i'd say its a very big if) we signed Sanchez, does anyone else fear he'd be Arshavin/Hleb/Podolski/Cazorla'd?
where I mean he prefers a central role, and as we've seen, excels there, but wenger will left wing him anyways?

I'm not expectant to see a signing soon, as, you know, it's us.
but i'd like to think we got a couple in by the middle of july!

Sanchez played out wide for the majority of last season for Barcelona as a wide forward. He'd be perfect in Arsenals system.

He's a player that can do nothing for 89 minutes and then in 60 seconds of brilliance, win you the game.

I do understand the reservations a lot of fans have tho!
Due to his attitude and work rate.

Jonny, he did indeed play there for barca, but his best position is central as the striker.
He's done well for chile there normally and has excelled there for them in the WC.
When played as a striker for barca, he seems to fit. better too.

Little gunner, unless we sign Ronaldo, Ibrahimovic, Ramos, Neuer and Vidal, I will deem this window a failure!

I really don't think Wenger will go out all guns blazing to look for a marquee signing. I can see Remy coming in and with Campbell returning for his first season, arsenal and wenger will see that as strikers sorted. Diaby is due to return, once again "his return will be like a new signing" and will probably sit in the dm role. Are the reports of Suarez agreeing terms with Barca true? If so, that's Sanchez defo not coming. Frustrating as always

New reports are suggesting that we're going to be making a move for Schneiderlin and Sanchez in the near future.

Personally I'd prefer this to splashing 44m on Vidal. Vidal would be a massive signing but isn't really that evonomical in terms of strengthening the entire squad as well as for the future of the squad.

Schneiderlin is younger and has already proved that he has the potential and quality to compete at the highest club level, and can only get better with the likes of a much better investment in my opinion.

And Sanchez is just fantastic, he's been leading the Chilean team during this World Cup and can play anywhere across the front 3. He'd compliment Giroud enormously on the wings and would be a nightmare for defenders if played in a number 9 role. He should be our top target in my opinion. I know Liverpool will probably use Sanchez to engineer the sale of Dracula but I don't see them pulling it off.

I'd be more than happy with these 2 signings and a striker like Morata or even Remy.

I get that the sanchez rumours are flying high, but I feel liverpool will want to do a deal for suarez and sanchez and barca will prefer to do that deal more than sell him to us.

not because we won't give them a better fee rather than the swap, but just the fact to get the fee we will probably negotiate the entire summer, while liverpool would want to close out this affair quickly, and add a stellar name.

i just don't count any source as credible, as everyone makes stuff up to get noticed, just like last year, I can think or 2-3 people who said some big german player only 3 days before we signed ozil, so its not like anyone will find out till the latest end of the transfer trail.

I'd be happy with schneiderlin but would prefer us to go all out for James Rodriguez instead of Sanchez. Think there's issues at Monaco and he may be available.

Diaby, Technically he is a great player. The box to box player that Wenger loves.
Schneiderlin however would give slightly more security to the defence.
I'd go for the more defensive option however if and it's a huge IF, diaby injury free could be a massive squad player for us.

Depends, would change from game to game. Who is best suited to the opponent would play.

I've made my thoughts on Diaby clear. Great player on his day but they are few and far between. Baring a miracle that allows him to stay fit, he should be gone. If he can stay fit then great, as when he's is fit, he is some player.
