I don't think there are any spurs fans still alive from the last time they won the league.

Spurs have sold out Wembley again for Bayer Leverkusen while there were empty seats everywhere at the emirates last night,

Spurs remind me of a group of well off wanna be footballers whos only chance of ever playing at Wembley is by hiring the stadium themselves.

Getting ready for Europa league football next season lol, we are the biggest threat to man city than you or man Utd, we are unbeaten so far and have only conceded 3 goals.

It's amazing how you shift 60000 tickets for a pound each and we shift the same st £100 plus each! Your only a spurs fan because you can't afford to be an arsenal fan.

Raver - Arsenal v Basel 59,993, The Toot v Gillingham 26,244. Says it all.
The pain at the lane just goes on.1961 and waiting. Most of us weren't even born and a Tot supporter has to be over 55 years to even have been alive when The Toot last won the title, more like 65 years to actually be old enough to remember winning the title.

An interesting statistic; it has been a longer time period between The Toot winning the league and today (55 years) , than between the end of the First World War and the Toot last winning the league (43 years) , that's simply embarrassing.

This week for the first time in I don't know how long it's difficult to pick holes in the team
All the back 4 look very capable of standing on their own two feet rather than 3 of them constantly looking where Mertesacker is or has Gibbs lost position and drifterd into the middle or worse still over to the right, all 4 look comfortable not only in their own jobs but confident in each other's ability to do their job equally too, We've not had that for absolutely years.
CM Caz/ Le Coq or Caz/ Xhaka look extremely comfortable and very effective going forward as well as defensively
Mesut pulling strings surrounded by pace is the ideal scenario and is so good to watch.
Don't be a tinker man Arsene in order to accommodate Aaron Ramsey let him do an Xhaka and wait for his chance should Caz or Mesut form drop or are unavailable because of injury.

Its a long season gunner and when mert has to play with giroud and gibbs or ox, etc, then things like that will change the dynamics. We have winnable games coming up and I expect us to win them all, my feet will be firmly on the ground if we do, they aren't the desserts just the starters. Walcott according to most on here wasn't good enough for us, now he's the answer. Things change quickly in this game.

Steve we all know that with Mertesacker we have to adjust because of his obvious weaknesses but Gabriel and Holding are better alternatives if and when needed, Theo? Well maybe just maybe being left out by England during the summer and by Arsene at the end of last season plus knowing almost all the Arsenal fans had run out of patience with him and wanted him off loaded have finally made the penny drop for him, let's hope so mate.
It would be a foolish man who put a year's wages on either us or Theo not reverting back to type just yet but a cheeky hours pay on both having their best season for 10 years looks a lot better bet now that it has for a very long time.

29 Sep 2016 15:08:07
Things do change quickly. I was saying Theo isn't good enough but if he keeps this form up then damn I'm wrong! He seems to have upped his defensive and attacking game and is a lot more composed in front of Goal so far.

29 Sep 2016 16:00:20
It is a long season 62 and we all know nothing is won in September. However there is definitely a difference.

Theo isn't and never will be the saviour and he has shown various patches of good form. The big difference at this time is he appears to have realised what's possible if you add hard work to his talent. He himself knows it's a season long effort required, not two games.

We have a defensive pair who don't look a potential disaster waiting to happen and we've always had Coquelin and Cazorla who together are quality but now we have Xhaka.

I'm also, after last nights team selection thinking that Wenger will avoid many if any changes throughout the season.

Another thing and maybe it's just me, but Koscielny seems to have become more of a leader than I thought he was.

But as Steve said it's feet on the ground, play each game as they have the last two, Burnley are going to be no push over so make sure we don't revert to type.

Burnley on Sunday will provide a clue as to wether the mentality has improved because we have all to often after performing well in big games underestimated so called lesser opposition, then there's the international break with the group broken up will they return with this new found hunger intact against a Swansea side who love beating Arsenal home and away then Ludo Razgd will Arsene disrespect them and start with a weakened side as he has to his cost in the past? Then home to Middlesbrough and away to Sunderland to cap off a busy October.
If we are all still as excited by the end of next month as we are right now the build up to playing Spurs Utd and PSG on the trot in November will see this page at its busiest once again with lots and lots of optimism in every post.

Haha Steve, I'll have to sort that out soonest. Seriously though we both just want the best for Arsenal however that happens. 😁.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah but if that happens what will you and steve have to moan about red dog?...maybe if you found a subaru in your drive when you got home?.. :)

29 Sep 2016 19:30:20
What a treat that would be ed, the Raver popping around my place to do the hoovering. with his nose probably! 😂😂

It's bad though that I'm being classed as a moaner, I'm really going to have to sort myself out.

hi everyone

i understand this may be contentious.

i think it is extremely important we keep AW. hopefully a new contract, another 3 years at least, can be amicably agreed.

if AW was to leave, i am sure he would be sorely missed. in my opinion what AW has achieved and indeed continues to produce is absolutely marvellous.

anyway, just my opinion.

COYG andi.

Believable1 Unbelievable3

{Ed025's Note - i expect him to leave at the end of the season andi, he has said he will, and i think hes excellent as well, he could move upstairs i suppose but i would like to see him take the england job myself mate..

29 Sep 2016 09:48:07
Personally I think winning the title should be the only consideration to signing any new contract.

Whilst he has been amazing all good things come to an end.

Andi, I'd love wenger to sign a new contract, but, somethings got to change, we need to start every transfer window, the same as we finished this one.

The "there's no value in the market" is easy for wenger to use, but it is getting frustrating.

"if" we're going to replace him, I'd like to see someone younger, who also, shares the same values on the youth squad, there's not many managers around that will put that trust in a youth player.

If we finished in the champions league last 4 and within 3pts of the premier league winners come next May I'd be very happy for Arsene to stay as our manager.
There are only two big prizes available each season and lots of clubs who feel they can win them so imo its unreasonable to demand champions league or premier league wins but to demand we genuinely compete for both is very reasonable expectation of a big club like Arsenal.
Let's see where we are in May because as Theo said on Saturday we've all been here before and it's doing it over a season that matters but so far so very very good.

Agree3 Disagree0

29 Sep 2016 10:55:04
Nothing has changed for me, prove he can still win the prem or champs league and he can stay. But thirteen failed attempts would be enough for me. Things are going well today, they have to still go well in march april and may. We still have nervous November to negotiate as well. Prove he's capable and he deserves whatever he wants.

Agree4 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your a very generous guy steve.. :)

29 Sep 2016 14:04:54
Ed025 - I do not wish to contradict you, as I know a certain other Ed doesn't take kindly to people disagreeing with him, but Wenger has not stated that he will leave at the end of the season, he simply said he will wait until then before making a decision.

However, my gut feeling, like yours is that he will leave, as he was hurt severely by the fans turning against him. I believe he will end up at PSG, with whom he has strong links.

I hope I am wrong and he stays as he will extremely difficult to replace. In respect of the national job, he stated previously that he believes national teams should be managed by fellow nationals, so I would assume that he will turn up as French manager sometime in the future when his club management days are done.

Also, he isn't ready to give up the everyday contact with players and coaching them that he now enjoys, so national team management isn't on the agenda yet. If Arsenal do well this season and the fans give Wenger the support he deserves, he may well sign for a further period, as it would be difficult to walk away from what he built.

RG69 is right I think, he hasn't stated he will leave. Steve is also right, let's see what happens, but I don't think he will leave, if he has the backing of Arsenal and the fanbase. I think he knows he has to prove it, so let's see what happens.

Champions league last 4, within a whisker of the title!
I doubt he'd walk away but the usual champions league last 16 and not competitive top 4 I think it's Thank you and Tata time from everyone's point of view.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - the problem is who replaces him G62?, arsenal is a top top club and im sure will have many suitors but it wont be as easy as some think i can assure you mate, howe, simeone, koeman?...3 of the top choices i expect but will they bring the success everyone is craving? well i very much doubt it, in these days of the microwave supporters demanding instant success they wont give the successor the time to build and thats not just arsenal its every team, you only have to look at united,s struggle to replace fergie and they are probably a higher profile club than the gunners...i have said this before but...be careful what you wish for, the grass is not always greener as im sure you will find out...and which i will constantly remind you of...you can count on that.. :)

29 Sep 2016 16:42:24
Wenger with the England job, I would love to see that.

Fair comment Ed025 mate :-) but should Arsene go at the end of the season without making a serious challenge home or in Europe and the next bloke comes in and makes us serious contenders again I'm sure you won't mind me mentioning it on here occasionally will you? Plus the Everton page and of course down the kebab shop 3 times a day over your breakfast dinner and tea :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - lol..i will hold my hands up and say "i was wrong" G62..but my guess is you will be saying sorry more than fat sam mate.. :)

29 Sep 2016 18:08:11
The best case scenario is we win the league Arsene stays and I get to apologise to you over several bottles of Becks while we talk about what a good job Keoman has done for you in his first season by making you both premier league and FA cup runners up mate :-)
Let's hope so.

{Ed025's Note - ill drink to that mate.. :)
