I gave Emery 6/ 10 for August and his first month in charge.
For September I'm giving him a mark of 7.5/ 10 as I think there is definitely improvement from cetain idevidual players who have previously appeared lazy and out of their depth in the premier league but now seem to have found some passion and commitment under Dicks leadership and are showing signs of possibility that just weren't there before they started putting in the effort, plus results wise it's been 100% even if the performance haven't been totally convincing the results have been as good as it gets.

We haven’t beaten anyone or lost to anyone I didn’t expect - still hasn’t worked out our attack, selections still questionable but seeing green shoots

We are playing ugly and winning / loosing / drawing - would like to see us play well to be honest. Still early days and hoping to see more improvement.

6.5 as not really played anyone and we seem to make every game harder than it needs to be.

For the love Arsenal - PEA and Laca up front with Ozil in the hole. Holding and Sokratis in central defence and start Torriera. Let’s get some improvements in Jan.

Good start - well done Emery p. Now build on it.

True SY mate we haven't beaten anyone we couldn't reasonably be expected to beat but I think it's important to acknowledge we have beaten absolutely everyone we were expected to beat, if that makes any sense.
No shocks no poor results just living up to our potential fully without exceeding it, to be fair how long since that's happened!
Other than Liverpool we don't play anyone in October or November we shouldn't be reasonably optimistic of beating and if we keep living up to our potential, no more no less we won't be far behind the team in 1st place going into December.
It's not hhe stuff of Hollywood or Roy of the Rovers admittedly but it's certainly worth being interested in again with every reason to think with a bit more time we might actually become relevant again in the top 4 race and maybe just maybe even higher ambitions might be worth serious consideration this time next year after two windows and a lot of hard work from everyone.

It has been a baffling start under Emery, with two understandable defeats, followed by 7 consecutive wins, whilst not playing particularly convincingly.
Only one of Emery's signings started v Watford, so it was very much a Wenger team struggling to change to Emery's methods and tactics.
However, overall I am impressed by Emery and some players are improving: Holding and Iwobl being the most noticeable. I like the fact that Emery makes decisions, such as substitutions that are very different to Wenger's and clearing out players that needed to go: Ospina, Chambers, Wilshere, Cambell and Perez, none of whom are impressing at their new clubs. I like the fact a decision has been made to end the negotiations with Ramsey, who hasn't performed particularly well this season and his reaction to being substituted yesterday was unimpressive. We have a run of winnable matches until we meet Liverpool, so hopfully, we can keep the winnin run going. Winning breeds confidence. So overall 7 out of 10 so far, with room for improvement.

Appreciate everyone has opinions but how bellerin got higher rating out of ten than holding on some sites has me confused. While not brilliant, I thought holding more than warranted highest rating along with torreira and iwobi when introduced.
Not fantastic performance by any stretch, but you can only beat what's in front of you. And if performance not great but grinding out results, can be a positive. Just hope it all clicks sooner rather than later for fixtures at end of Oct and beginning of Nov. Coyg.

Bellerin is one of the few players that is yet to show signs of improvement under Emery. Defensively he is still clueless, although he tends to get very little help from the right sided player ahead of him.
I like the way we are grinding out results, which rarely happened in recent seasons under Wenger. Perhaps as the team, largely still selected from 'Wenger' players changes in personnel we will start to see more of Emery and less of Wenger. Emery has only had one window and limited funds, making 5 intelligent signings with only £70m to spend. Over the next couple of windows I can envisage 5 or 6 changes in the squad, as Emery imposes his own type of players in the squad and the hangover of Wenger's methods will fade.

I think Hector's crossing is far better this season than its ever been and I think he's putting in the same shifts as he always has but because others are now putting in more of a shift that side of Belerin game has gone unnoticed.
Iwobi Xhaka and Mustafi are all much more mobile under Dick so the improvement in effort and work rate will obviously stand out more compared to when they used to jog around at best under Arsene.
The more you runaround and work the more involved you are in the game and more switched on you are mentally too.

Not a fan of Iwobi (ive alays said he had the tools) bit of a headless chicken but fair do's to the lad he is making an impact like welbeck, coming off the bench. Like welbeck maybe doesn't deserve a place yet but cup games and impact sub for now is working. It is last chance saloon for him, for me this season.

There is undoubtedly improvement in his effort and work rate and because he's now involving himself in games rather than waiting for everything to come to him he's reaping the rewards and much better reviews.

I think we did ok against a difficult Watford mate. Our defence might not be the best but definitely improving, clear chances are a lot less if you noticed.
Well done to the team and Emery tho.

I am a great believer that you make your own luck. As they say, the harder I work, the luckier I get. Winning when not playing well is an art and a second consecutive PL clean sheet is a plus.
Iwobi is our most improved player under Emery, he looks fitter, stronger and more confident. I would like to see him start ahead of Ramsey, who apparently used Ozil's wages as the benchmark during the negotiations. We should never have agree to pay Ozil £350,000 a week and even in today's inflated market, Ramsey is nit worth any more than £150,000 a week, as an absolute maximum. He won't be too difficult to replace,

29 Sep 2018 17:33:08
Why is Ramsey worth 150k to be fair? I'm sure there are Watford Wolves and Burnley players who deliver much much more plus are available for many many more games and who earn around 20 to 30k.
I'm pleased he's leaving because he's only interested in Aaron Ramsey not Arsenal football club at all.

Hi G62 - I doubt Ramsey is worth £150,000 pw, but the current market is crazy.
Apart from one season when he scored around 16 goals, I haven't been a huge fan of his and in Emery's favoured 4-2-3-1, he shouldn't be a starter.
Ozil looks better in the centre of the three, with Aubameyang or Welbeck wide left and Mkhitaryan wide right, Although I would like to see us sign a wing back to play on the right-hand side, a player that can defend as well as attack.

I really can't see why we should keep ramsey, we have similar players already, he didn't cost us a kings ramsom and we can replace him. I applaud the club for taking the initiative. I do think we need to play him in the cup comps from now on in and see if we can play with a more settled attack without him in the league.

Agree1 Disagree0

29 Sep 2018 19:44:36
It will be interesting to see what ramsey ends up getting from another club. He is a "good" player but lacks pace and dominance at anything. He won't be going to utd for big money and i don't think he will suit at Liverpool. Chelski can have him for me because he wouldn't make them any better. If he went abroad, he wouldn't get what he is demanding at arsenal. So good riddence.

Before his one good season I always felt a bit sorry for Aaron and thought he was far better than many fans gave him credit for, but since that one amazing half season (he was injured and out from January to May even that season) he seemed to think he was in the main man on a similar footing to Gareth Bale, which obviously he's never been close to being.
He's been playing for Aaron Ramsey FC for years and I hope he leaves on a free in January by mutual consent.

I don't agree with all Dicks player selections but he's certainly not afraid to change things if what he planned isn't working out.
He's most definitely not stubborn or above accepting he's got it wrong on the day and taking steps to correct his pre match choices.

29 Sep 2018 23:04:31
He is stubborn 62 as he’s playing his style even if it doesn’t suit our players. Not bad stubborn but still stubborn.

Satisfying win and up into 5th place. Seven consecutive wins and two consecutive clean sheets. Emery has instilled a winning mentality to the team.

Well 7 wins on the trot whilst not playing particularly well is a winning mentality in my books. Under Wenger in the second half of his time at the club, we often played well and failed to win.

Dave, that's NOT what I said and you well know it. I'm saying you can't calling this a "winning mentality" yet.

And if you've read any of my other posts here, you'll know this isn't about the manager for me. I've yet to see more than 2 players per game give it their all, leave it all out on the pitch.

However, if you want to call this a "winning mentality", by all means, you go right ahead and do that.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Sep 2018 20:02:50
Look Sharpe I know what you said and meant It was a bit tongue in cheek from me hence the winky face. but i feel we are playing bad and winning games so it is kinda a winning mentality to be fair digging out wins is actually kinda nice and refreshing.

I also feel that our next big test Liverpool I beleive, will toy with our defence and it could end bad so no I'm not deluded or anything but I like the team going through a change learning new tactics and still picking up points.
