The Ozil deal lasted 5 years in 24 hours, I know I lived every minute of it waiting for it to go to a done deal.
Both the most exciting and worst dead line day ever for me

Hey guys, the tone on here is certainly a lot better than it was a month ago. Loving it. A few things if I may. As great as we've been lately though, it'll be for naught if we don't get a result next week. Also, with Le Coq being so massive for us (giggity), would people be happy to sign Spyder, if it meant losing Le Coq, because he wanted 1st team football? Finally, a question to ed25, Timmy Cahill is currently at God- like status here in Australia. Where does he sit with Toffees fans? I think he could've been very handy for us when he was linked, before going to NY. Anyway, very much looking forward to next week. COYG

quite happy with the transfer window, we have not gone out and bought superstars but we have adequate cover and depth in defense.
The CDM position needs to be addressed in the summer and with the sudden potential of le coq, it gives us a chance to sign only one CDM in the summer to complete the squad.
ive been reading about reus and our interest has always been there, it will take something special to get him from Madrid's Cluthes, and I think bayern moving off can only mean he is heading to Madrid.
but say for a second we do have some chance, Reus and Schneiderlin would be the perfect summer signings.
well only the summer will tell and with Poldi probably due a permanent switch and Diaby and Flamini on expiring contracts, and the future of Sanogo and Joel Campbell in the balance I am looking forward to atleast two summer additions and with the quality of the squad, I can assume those players to be of superior quality.

As a squad we have been privileged enough to enjoy goals from 19 different players. Realistically, I can think of at least three who stand a fair chance of nicking a goal before the end of the season. Just interested in hearing others' views. who would you fancy to be on target for us between now and the end of the season?
Believable0
Unbelievable0
Well, seems the obvious choices are Akpom and Gnabry. After Monreal's game yesterday, you'd say he has an outside chance between now and late May - even against stronger opposition. As and when Gab gets a run-out, you'd have to fancy him heading one in (although, admittedly, we don't exactly do set pieces). Just leaves Flamini, Diaby and the keepers as our least likely contenders, plus maybe a few youths like Bielik.
Nice to see the goals tally shared though. Always better for the team spirit I feel

With the emergence of Bellerin, and when Debuchy comes back what's going to happen with Chambers? Could Wenger see him as DM?
Believable0
Unbelievable0
02 Feb 2015 12:00:07
I believe Wenger always saw his long term future in the DM role but was not going to drop him into it immediately. I think with Le Coq having a good few games, he could be used as a CB.
Debuchy is out for a number of months so Chambers and Bellerin will rotate to give them both game time.
Agree0
Disagree0
I believe that ultimately Chambers will end up more as a centre back, that can cover at right back, rather than the other way round. Hence, next season we should have: 2 right backs Debuchy & Bellerin. 2 left backs Gibbs & Monreal. 4 Centre backs Mertesacker, Koscielny, Chambers & Gabriel. With Chambers & Gabriel able to cover at full back. Personally, I would like to see us replace Monreal in the summer, as he lacks the pace necessary for a top premier League side. Then the defensive options look solid.
Agree0
Disagree0
I think while Chambers is young, perhaps a little raw and above all probably just eager to play, he's presumably resigned to being a bit like our answer to Phil Jones. You'd think he'd be happy to rotate mainly between CDM and CB with the offer to cover at RB, although we'd be unlikely to call on him with Jenkinson back in our ranks too (as of next season), unless we loaned Bellerin out.

Centre back.

CB
He bought him for CB from the very beginning.
Agree0
Disagree0
02 Feb 2015 15:14:05
Yeah a think CB would be where he ends up. Kos and Mert aren't that young so in a couple of seasons we will hopefully have Chambers and Paulista as our established (and still fairly young) CBs. Should be covered at CB (and RB and LB) for a fair bit now before our existing players get too old. Good position to be in.

Still buzzing from yesterday, transfer deadline day has never meant so little to me. Our squad looks very strong and has great depth. If we can manage our injuries (I know it's a BIG if) we can bring some more silver ware in this season.

Id like to see one more body come in.
if we can get reus do it. in the summer everyone will pay his clause and a wages war will commence
Agree0

{Ed002's Note - The "clause" is of no relevance.}
When you say we Davros are you referring to your Arsenal we or your spurs we mate :-).
Only kidding Davros mate, just a play on yesterdays little misunderstanding :-)
Agree0

And reues would come in for? oh ya Diaby

Everyone saying he has a clause to leave this summer. how does it not count? gotze left/ so will reus this summer
Agree0
Disagree0
Yeah G62, definitely a Gunner, had to have 3 showers yesterday after that insinuation, all good though :-)
Agree0
Disagree0
Clause only applies to the legal system in that country.
Suarez clause applicable with english law and reus clause in germany. clause has no hold over other legal systems.
with bayern dropping out the pounds will go really high, as they could have got him for peanuts but obviously he has made some intent he does not want to go there for them to drop out entirely.

02 Feb 2015 08:28:32
Its amazing how much the work rate has increased since the city win with players I've seen in the very recent past become spectators once the balls behind them now chasing back desperately to retrieve the ball or desperate to do their bit to defend our goal rather than leave it to someone else to do as has happened so often in the past
It seems to me the mature way we played at city along with Le Coq emergence has made everyone believe again and its a sight for very saw eyes

Really pleased the widow shuts today even though its been a very good January by our standards.
In the summer when we're all starved of football action the window helps pass the time waiting for the new season to get here but for me the January window just gets in the way of things

Solid performance against Villa and a great result. We need to win against Tottenham on Saturday, to force our way into the top four. If Sanchez is fit, who would you drop, if anyone, to include him?
Believable0
Unbelievable0
02 Feb 2015 10:39:44
I would drop Walcott i'm afraid. He still isn't 100% match sharp and i'd say he'd be more effective coming on at 60-70 mins running at tired legs. Ozil is more sharp (imo) and I think with Sanchez cutting in from wide with Caz in the middle we will not be short on goals. Its just can we cope with Eriksen and Kane. We saw what they did to Chelsea.
Agree0
Disagree0
Rotate with Walcott, they are both not fully fit so why not a half each?
Walcott with his blistering pace straight out the blocks for the first half and Sanchez with his gile and trickery for the second.
Agree0
Disagree0
{Ed025's Note - how about dont play sachez unless he is fully fit....then put his name down first on the team sheet as he is the best player smiler?
For me it has to be ozil or ramsey, so we have 2 natural wingers on, otherwise either ozil or caz wil be shunted out to the left again and that will be dodgy against spurs
