Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Emery is going to watch enough video of all arsenal youngsters before giving a go ahead on any major deal. Aside Sokratis and Lichtsteiner I will bet arsenal won't sign anyone else till July. Infact I will go as far as saying we won't be signing any gk at all this season. Expect all our transfers in Jan after Emery had truly assessed the team. Youngsters will be pushed to work and prove their potentiala else be sold or dismissed. I ain't no ITK and no little told me, but it's just my rotten gut feeling.
That's to say I expect only three signings this windows (Sokratis, Lichtsteiner and Adli) and 3more (CB, CM and a winger) in January window.
This will only change if Ramsey doesn't sign and has to be sold or welbeck sold. Else we done with deals n indeed their are done deals rest are tabloids play merry-round with our heads.
sorry for the reality check.
This is Arsenal we don't Buy stars. (fill in the blank space) lolz.

Thank for that, I was going to reinstall my sports channels but I won't bother now, you've saved me a bundle.
Knock down the Emirates and build a tesco why don't we :- (.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed0333's Note - that’s prime real estate mate you should build a waitrose there not a Tesco.

02 Jun 2018 21:53:30
Way to optimistic to think Waitrose would ever come to us Ed0333 mate, we'd be lucky to attack a pound stretcher :- (.

Like the rest of us, I have no idea what transfer budget Emery has. I feel quite certain however, that world class calibre players in Europe's top clubs are unlikely to jump ship to Arsenal currently. I see Emery trying to make three - four signings of astute, experienced players to get us, kicking and screaming back in the top four. Then we have a chance with the Dembele's of this world - when we can compete in the CL.

{Ed0333's Note - I still think you should have signed Nagelsmann

02 Jun 2018 19:05:52
Pavard, Soyuncu, Mertens, Castillejo, N'Zonzi, Djene, Sokratis, Bernerd, Evans, Tolisso, Diallo, Adli, Lichtsteiner, Meyer.
How many more players are we going to be linked with this summer! I'm sure I've missed a few off as well 🙈😂.

As long as we keep reading the journalists will keep inventing stuff for us to read.
It's a simply case of supply and demand, fans get desperate for news and the journalists oblige even if they have to make it up to satisfy people's apatite.

You can add (Ousmane) Dembele and Forsberg to that list. They aren't coming either.

Benzema too surely.

Yeah and Leno! Missed him as well 😂.

If we make the right signing - could Granit still hold a position in CM under Emery?

If we add that necessary pace to our counter attacking side with a quality winger - is there room for Ozil and Rambo

I struggle to see both in the same side unless Rambo adopts a more forward role in the front three or gains more discipline as part of a defensive CM. Issue if Rambo dies either is - he's not a winger or a CDM. But if we drop him, who will score the goals outside of PEA and may be Nacho in the starting 11 as no one else really chips in with goals.

IMO Granit is not as good a cmf as some already in the side and there’s a whole list better at dmf. If emery plays 4-2-3-1 if the right dmf (javi Martinez) was played alongside Ramsey in the two infrin of the four then you could get ozil in there with him. For me we need a new winger. Auba up front ozil and miki with Malcom, fekir or date I say Dembele then the mid on will look good with a decent bench. Add lichenstiener, Leno, Sokratis with javi martinez and things look really good. Been greedy and add Thiago then we have a great bench as well with Aron, jack, elneny and xhaka.

We need a beast of a DM to build around, a good solid back 4 a beast then add the frilly bits that make people cheer and get excited :-)

Xhaka is not good enough to hold midfield, he isn't commanding to put it mildly and shirks responsibility. I think our new manager will blend the team, rather than fit his favourite or best players in. Ramsey and ozil may or may not play together but that will be for the manager to work out. I suppose it will depend on who we get in, in the long run.

I'm happy with what ever choses to do because that's his job, to make decisions he thinks are right for us.
If he plays both Ramsey and Ozil I really hope it works out well and if he trys it and things don't go so well at least he will know it's a no go, the only thing that would get to me is if we were still trying to make them gel in 3 years time, I'm all for giving things a try as long as it doesn't become an obcesion.
Personally I would have one or the other but I'm very open to being proved wrong.

I agree with Steve, Xhaka is the player who has to give way. Neither good enough where he is, nor to replace any of the options forward of his position.

So with us targeting a keeper of some sorts Bullard would do nicely ) plus that old Right back ( Lichtsteiner) plus the following type players: Castillejo, N'Zonzi, Djene, Sokratis and Papastathopoulos. throw in Evans then we will surely be in a far better position to compete in EL, FA Cup and top 4.

That with a change in energy, focus, pressing and organisation could take us to wherever.

Less talking more action - that way the press don't drive us crazy with rumours after rumours.

Rodney, by this time next year. we could be champions 😉

Stay positive all - COYG.

Absolutely SY mate, I see no reason why we should all be anything but positive optimistic and excited.
Any negativity is surely just pure pessimism at this stage.
All is very much to play right now mate :-)

Hi Ed's, just out of curiosity do any of you know if there's any truth behind the story Sky Sports ran about us attempting a late bid for Fabinho? Or is it just more bollocks?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - I don't know sorry, it was a rush signing, so they would have to be quick as his Atleti move fell through and he agreed to move to Liverpool instead pretty much straight away.}

02 Jun 2018 09:30:59
We seem to do that a lot, arrive late for dinner. Is it a token gesture or is just incompetencey.

To be fair Sanogo mate some people are feeling a little lost right now without Arsene to moan about and with Emery not having had chance to make a mistake they can get their teeth into yet they will accept any opportunities they can get their hands on for now, be it real or imaginary.
It's how the Artetta story became so big, we've had lovely weather lately so the British summer has been off the agenda, mind you the i'm sure the visa card chaos yesterday must have brought some kind of relief for those for are only happy when they are moaning :-)

Sanogo and G62, I’m asking out of curiosity not because I’m “feeling a little lost” or “looking for something to moan about”. As we’re all aware we have a new management structure and a reportedly limited transfer budget, information on a last minute bid for Fabinho would have at least have given us some insight into how the rest of the summer could pan out.

Thanks for the reply Ed.

{Ed001's Note - welcome, sorry I couldn't help much.}

Fair shout Jack mate.
Personally I'm not expecting token gestures or mighty slogans from the Sven men and Emery I'm extremely optimistic they feel there are lots of players out there who can improve us and I for one am ready to let the past go and let the new boys start with a completely clean slate.
I'm not expecting Benzema Higuain Mbappe nonsense from them and until they actually go down that road I'm happy to feel those days are gone for us.
I think listen to what they actually say and do rather than what the media tell us to think about them.
It was Arsene who said no players were available who could improve us and Arsene isn't in charge anymore.

Good Morning Ed,

Just seen reports that William Carvalho is one of a number of Sporting Lisbon players looking to terminate his contract following their troubles and being attacked by fans the season just gone. Rui Patricio has terminated his contract and moved to Napoli and Carvalho has just successfully terminated his too.

Any chance this will have alterted Arsenal? We have been strongly linked with him in the past but Sportings large price tag prevented him ever moving. Will he still be a target now we have new scouts and manager? If we can snap him up on a free it would be perfect. Allowing extra money to be spent on another CB or wide player.
Any chance we might make a move?

Thanks.

{Ed001's Note - are you sure you have that correct?}

02 Jun 2018 06:04:07
Apologies Ed, looks like I've been duped. Read one thing on a news report saying he'd cancelled his contract. And now read on SSN that there reports he'd done so but this is not the case. SSN article says its Everton and W Ham are interested.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - players cannot just unilaterally terminate a contract mate, just like you or I can't. They looked into it legally, to see if they had grounds to have it terminated, but they don't. There has been no breach of contract that would enable them to do so. Amazing how players always want someone else to blame for their poor performances!}
