Sorry, but Diaby is where right now?

Just saying

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I wouldn't expect to see him again for us. Maybe final few games end of season as a farewell. I don't think we will extend his deal. Shame a real shame.

Question for banter - which is the more important signing to make in January, DM or CB?

For me it's a DM, I just think it ties the whole team together and would balance us between attack and defense.

I'm sure this has been done to death and beyond Ed's, but is there any chance of us going for one and who is a possiblity on that list?

Is Kheidra, Carvalho and the rest of the summer names dead to a move?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - FFP rules and wages are more of the issue than anything else mate.}

For me its DM Ozil because at least we have two CBs and Callum where as our DM cupboard is bare.
Ed why is the FFP an issue? I know it is but why, we're not in deb as we have money in the bank so I'm not sure why the rule applies to us

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - because you are spending more on wages than the percentage of income you are allowed.}

Oh by the way Ozil I don't expect either to arrive in January but was just saying if we did and had to chose one or the other.
Arsene buying what we need a posed to what he wants is always unlikely but in January near impossible to imagine

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed I understand it now, so we need to off load before we can bring in! It shouldn't prove difficult choosing who to let go but finding takers at the wages their earning now could prove to be a problem

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Arsenal are one of the clubs that have already beached the FFP rules for wages. It won't be a big deal because history is good. A slap on the wrists and the need to be diligent as you say.}

I do not believe we are looking at ffp. We are miles away from being fined by fifa. Our net spend in the summer was nothing compared to new deals and prem money. We can spend big and not worry

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Your lack of knowledge of the FFP regulations are one of the reasons we do not discuss money.}

Bit of an embarrassment for Arsene to be in breach of rules he's been such a champion of, maybe he didn't understand them fully either Ed002 :-) or thought we'd be exempt and they only applied to otgers

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - I have no idea what you are talking about. I will delete anything financial from now on given the idiots appear to be out.}

We have money in the bank to spend. How can they stop a club from spending money we have made. They cant. If we want to we can spend it. Manu spent 150million plus. Tell me how they do that then

Agree0 Disagree0

Revenue is what 300million a year and going up each year. Wages 160mill. Plus cash reserves. We are doing just fine. No threat of ffp

Agree0 Disagree0

Thanks Ed002, I think :-)

We are giving walcott a new deal? And the wages will be big. We are ok I can we generate more money from tickets than city and chelsea. Bigger stadium plus higher prices. Simples

I should really be over it by now but I got pleasure from seeing RVP replaced by an 18 year old

The blokes a proper bowel nugget and long may his misery and ever increasing grey hair and bandy legs continue!

Stoner, long time no speak!

I love that phrase, perfect description

This made me laugh, I still haven't gotten over it either

Agree0 Disagree0

He looks really really old. He starting to become a problem for them. he's on big wages and has a few years on his contract to go yet

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2014 21:57:45
With you there derby, I'm saying it ages that Van Persie would be major trouble for them in a few years.

By the time Rooney and RVP are in the last year of contract United will have two blokes 33/34 making 500,000 a week between them. And if they sign Falco on a 4 year contract they'll have a 36y/o pretending to be a 33 y/o on the same wage!

I don't care who United are, even they can't afford that!

Agree0 Disagree0

Agreed sheeny. I said to my manu mate when chelsea were sniffing for rooney take the 40mill and invest in defenders.

They didn't need rvp though rooney had just had a great season, if they used rvp money to buy strootman someone like that theyd be stronger now, . Letting pogba go really set them back though watched him vs derby u18s and he was best in pitch by miles

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh with falcao too I think theyk back out of the deal. 40mill fee to get him perm I doubt theyl do it. I think his value will half tbh. Shame about his injuries great player

Watched the game again.

Several comments made about only 3 goals from 32 shots at goal.

When you look at some of the defending from Burnley it really was excellent, if we had defended like that at Liverpool / City and Chelsea last year we wouldn't have got the beatings we did.

On any other day we would have had 5 or 6 . When you think, Theo, Jack, Kos, Debauchy, Ozil and Ramsey didn't start it shows some depth in the Squad.

As always my biggest concern is out defending, just one signing in January and period of injury free months and we could catch City.

But as always the balance of our squad is really on a fine line.

Have we got enough cotton wool for Sanchez

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Arsenal anti injury cotton wool doesn't exist yet mate, they can land an egg on Jupiter fired at a speed of 2,000,000miles an hour quite safely but the technology doesn't yet exist to keep our players fit beyond 10 games, but it will come one day I'm sure :-)

Without the genuine DM we do suffer defensively but I can't believe buying one would hurt us in the slightest as an attacking force.

Welbeck is a concern simply for his ability to regularly hit the back of the net, didn't rate him at United and he has yet to prove me wrong. Goals are key and I'm positive Giroud would already have more than Welbeck. In honesty we need better than both.

At one point I said about selling Ozil simply because Wenger is failing to utilise all his qualities.

I don't think we should be looking to swap him for Reus we should be buying Reus as an upgrade on the likes of Cazorla and Podolski. A team with Reus, Sanchez, Walcott, Ramsey, Ozil, Wilshere and Chamberlain has huge potential.

Bayern want Reus as an addition to all their great players not to replace them. We should be looking to match the quality of the big squads not take steps backwards.

Despite Sanchez's brilliant form why are we so much worse now than we were 12 months ago?
Is it the Giroud factor? Is he more important than we realised
The Ramsey Factor? This time last year he was unplayable
Is it the wow.factor of signing Mesut Ozil that seemed to lift the whole club into another dimension?
Or is it simply that everyone knows how were going to play and we're just so predictable that stopping us and exposing our weaknesses is getting easier and easier for teams to do?
What did we have last season that made so much difference to this year?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It was ramsey factor I have no idea why arsene is playing flamini and arteta frm 2 games. Looks to me ramsey isn't fully fit yet and is using him sparely.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are we so much worse than last year? Think the teams better balanced tbh, were a couple defenders short imo but the team as a whole is better.
I'm not bothered what about Gitoud being injured in the slightest

Agree0 Disagree0

1404 we're 8 points worse off than at this stage last season and have had what 2 maybe 3 good performances all season in both PL and CL games, how are we better?

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2014 19:52:14
Think we are only 5 points worse off and this seasons fixtures have been slightly harder than last, again unlucky with injuries but squad wise especially in the upfront department with the additions of Alexis and Welbeck thinks are looking much better, yes some of the performances haven't been great but I do think we are looking better, when it clicks and starts to flow it will be much improved
and I've not had to watch the lumbering idiot Giroud fall on his arse and wave his arms around so I'm much happier thanks.

Agree0 Disagree0

Forget the blabbering the WC and injuries have just spolit the start of the season for us. I don't think any team bar chelsea is showing any sort of consistency.

Agree0 Disagree0

We had 25 pts this time last year and have 17 now, that's improvement we could do without.
Admittedly we have injuries but to be fair when don't we have injuries and this time last year people were coming to on our page from other clubs to praise our performances as we were playing so well.
This is all fact I hope your feelings of becoming better than last season come true 1404 but at the moment they are hopes rather than reality

Schneiderlin / Wanyama =
Petit / Vieira?

We should get both. You want creative players to express themselves in the final third, these are the type we need in central midfield

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I want them both. Solid players

Agree0 Disagree0

02 Nov 2014 22:00:21
Who would you drop to fit the two of them?

Just wanyama for me please

Neither for me. Buy Khedira and drop Arteta

In the 20 minute spell after Sanchez scored the opener, we could have easily scored 6 more. That was attacking play at its best, we even looked a threat from corners for once.

It clear Arsenal haven't been playing their best recently. But if we have one 20 minute spell like that every game and tighten up at the back we will be back in the hunt at the top come January.

On another note, would love to see Alexis and Giroud play up top together in a 4-4-2 with Ox/Walcott/Cazorla in the wings and Ramsey/Wilshere/Arteta in the middle

Believable0 Unbelievable0

When teams set up to defend and counter attack that's how it generally goes, once the first goal goes in, its hunting season.

burnley came for a draw, it worked well at first, then it didnt, they had to then play, and it was game over.

i would like to see how we do against swansea, no disrespect to burnley, but they ain't better than QPR.

Alexis Sanchez once again sizzles. walcott to that mix will be interesting.

once ramsey and wilshere come back we should have some creativity and pace upfront, but our defense is still standing on stilts.

Wanyama being bigged up on match of the day. We could do a lot worse than him. wouldn't say no to clyne either can push debuchy and then over take him.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Two players I like a lot there Derby one.

Then play Chambers as an out and out centre half. With a proper presence sitting in front of him and Koscielny.

Agree0 Disagree0

Im with you on that white. Chambers centre back
