I fail to believe we don't have a youth CB that isn't better than Lichtenstein! I would rather see someone getting some experience and playing time than that clown.

There’s a young Centre Back called Zech Medley, he got some game time, I think in a Europa tie. He looked alright but I doubt ready for the Premier League.

Mavropanos is back in full training and he looked pretty good in the few games I saw him and to be honest my long departed nan is probably better than Lichtsteiner, bless her.

Lichtsteiner is dreadful, and a dirty player at times as well.

You also have Bukayo Saka.

Let’s just write off the season and start building our next - winterburn - Bould - Adams - Dixon combo!

I would happily accept the defensive errors in the back 3 if they were youths being built for the future

Saka Mavro and Sokratis as their leader.

Gary Nevill makes a lot of sense here, speaking early on in the season. It gives, on the basis of what we have seen yesterday, a strong indication of what we might expect to see in this window and the next. Although he does not explicitly refer to Klopp, the comparisons of Emery's task is relative to where Liverpool were 3 years ago.

Thoughts?

AKE is a good CB, what’s his availability?

I like him. but is he a huge improvement.

30 Dec 2018 20:43:58
I thought he was excellent at Bournemouth while on loan from Chelsea and then excellent for Chelsea on his return but since his permanent move he's looked less excellent to me although I must confess I've not seen ever so much of him this season, didn't Bournemouth pay 20 odd million for him? What would they want to let him go? If it's 30 + millions it would be a risky one but having said all transfers are risky look at a Pogba Di Maria Falco 200 millions + and still no cigar.

Man U have been given new life under OGS they certainly have more about them than we have had during our last few games . let’s see how long it lasts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2018 18:01:03
BG, they have a good run of games and should get some results. Like Chelski, i would worry about the future, not now, their players, or at least some have shown more than a degree of selfishness and egotism. Me i hope they go on a run and OGS is somehow given the job.

STEVE
I hope the go after mopo.
As he seems to be doing a good job over the road, on a very little budget.

30 Dec 2018 19:11:07
I don't think he will go to utd W.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 20:10:55
I think his heart made its decision the moment Jose was sacked, I personally think he wants the United job very very much and I think he will get it too.
Good news for us because sonner or later someone is going to get United back on track of not Poch someone else will simply becuase they are a hige club wirld wide but for Spurs where do they find another Poch?
Hard to Spurs not going into rapid decline without Poch.

30 Dec 2018 22:37:14
Hope poch goes to united so that the spuds regress. He has built tottenham into a scary outfit. i can't imagine what he can do with all that united money. He will no doubt mount a title challenge.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 23:04:59
I would put bigger money on he will go to madrid. Utd at the moment would be like a step down and a betrayal. I personally think he wouldn't stab spuds in the back but that's just me.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Dec 2018 00:02:40
Steve, whether to madrid or united, he will be off soon. If he doesn't leave for united or madrid, he will leave for PSG in the next 2-3 years because he has a personal connection with them. He was their captain once.

Well I've just got back from scouse town.
ive watched the game again, this time on tv.
Maybe i'm clutching at straws,

First thing is 4 penities,2 given 2 not/
Liverpools 1st in mine biased opinion
was a very lucky one,
2nd NEVER a penalty.
We could have had two,1st would have been lucky. 2nd was a stonewaller.

The other silly thing is I think we played better the fist half.

The press are slaughtering Pea, but I watched him, he worked hard ran and ran, but never got the pass he wanted,
OZIL wants moving on, Get what we can and Release some wages for other signings,
Some on here are blaming Wenger, i'm sure 5 players yesterday were post Wenger, Maybe some respect needs to be shown to our greatest manager.
I was disappointed with the starting line up, But Dick sees our players day in day out, and I like to think he had a plan. Stan sees us as a business that makes him money and is not a fan or a backer (imo) . Nothing has really changed, we will shop at the lidl .
I respect Stan as a businessman, but hate him as an owner. Yesterday I looked out at the teams and saw Liverpool 2 £60 million plus players and our two freebies .
I wish Man City, all the best, As Liverpool, have some cheats. they dive.
Sean dyche wrote a good article at the weekend about diving, worth a read.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

30 Dec 2018 17:33:59
Each to their own on who you want to win the league but going on your logic of diving Man City don't deserve to win the league either nor half the teams in the league for that matter. Salah went down easily against Newcastle, although there was contact and against you guys he was clipped twice before going down.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 18:54:46
Good point Alonso, was clipped twice but still stayed up two more steps then went down.
Mate please don't tell me he doesn't cheat. i think if we had VAR
yesterday it would have been a penalty each.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 19:10:28
Welshgooner, he has gone down with the softest of touches I can't argue against that but no more so than a lot of players in the premiership. I am not sure why the Newcastle game got such wide spread coverage and he became the poster boy for diving when I can name a number of other players that dive. Harry Kane fantastic player but also dives and did it today, let's see if it gets the same media attention as Salah.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 20:32:16
A few weeks back we were the talk of football because of our players diving in our box the opponents box half way line you name it people were accusing is of diving somewhere and everywhere.
Myself and SY both said it was embarrassing and our club was better than that, so we as a club aren't in a great position to criticise anyone right now for diving.
We got well beaten by Liverpool not by poor decisions.

Hey Stoner, any time you want to pop back to our pages and poke fun at us, feel free. Since you visited you’ve had a ‘mare. I thought we were poor against the Scousers but blimey, there’s poor and there’s poor.

You should feel our hot breath shortly mate, we are currently obsessing about winning the ‘Arsenal trophy’ - getting into the top four. With a following wind we’ll be past you in January and then it’s Chelsea in the way before we can have the open top bus parade to celebrate qualification for the Champions League.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2018 11:17:22
AJH,

The fact you have spent so much to be so poor and still you still remain a constant source of amusement, that your page is like a plasterers radio after you beat two poor teams makes it all the more amusing. False dawn after false dawn.

It was you who said how fabulous, an Italian international, Darmian was going to be, not you that said Januzaj was going to be the next Ronaldo, Martial the next Henry, Bailey was a beast, Fred would be better than Fabinho, Di Maria a marque signing and so it goes on, all the way to the mighty Pogba and the static trampoline Lukaku.

Your club has been a constant joke since Fergie left and to make it worse you have City and Liverpool making it all the more funnier.

But you knock yourself out mate, come on and take the mick out of one of your actual rivals rather than the real big boys. 😂😂😂

Under Kroenke we will never be going anywhere but that’s the life of a supporter and sorry mate I’m still not bricking myself at your clubs hot but stale breath. 🙄

How far have you really fallen that here you are. 🤦‍♂️.

Agree4 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 12:14:14
AJH, we may be poor but wow, your team and club are an absolute disgrace. I know its banter but your club really is under achieving more than any team in the league and your player and managerial situations this last few year has been disastrous. You aren't even the best team in manchester and your noisey mates down the road at the moment are streets ahead of you. You really at the moment should be lying low. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 12:15:11
You're right mate, our fall has been spectacular. The last few years have been awful, apart from the FA Cup, the Europa League, and the League Cup, which made us the most successful club domestically. I realise for you that would be a golden period but for us it has been a come down.

Unlike you, we haven't given up, it's been a roller coaster and it's likely to continue to be, as you say that's the life of a supporter.

Chin up mate.

30 Dec 2018 15:40:59
Mancs performance against Liverpool was a lot worse than ours, the Match stats clearly prove that, it was embarrassing.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 16:36:06
Personally thought Arsenal gave us a better game and with two quality defenders and a winger you guys will be on your way. Manchester United, well they have massively under achieved, my only worry is they have a history of spending big and if they land Pochettino could return to former glory.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 18:18:23
If Liverpool beat citeh when they play, i can see them just winning the league. If citeh beat them, i can only see citeh winning the league. Its a massive game and its all perseption but citeh have been through their bad spell of injuries and form, Liverpool haven't yet and at some point they will start finding it tough. One manager in the world you wouldn't want to go head to head with is pep.

Our hot stale breath is getting hotter and staler. Just saying, keep looking over your shoulder boys.

30 Dec 2018 18:38:59
AJH, the excitement must be building so much for you all, just to let you know, us paupers got 9 points out of the cream that you just beat in the last three games. But at least OGS has got you picking points up against the lesser teams now. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 20:59:31
AJH stop embarrassing yourself mate, you are supposedly Manchester United, biggest club in the world and you're on here telling us how your mighty club are breathing down our necks in 5th place, yes fella FIFTH.

Now pop over to the Liverpool and City pages and see how much they’re collectively bricking it too. 🤦‍♂️

Was actually great to see Pogba break out into a jog a couple of times too, who knew he could almost run. 🙄.

30 Dec 2018 08:11:30
I think we also need to remember we have had a first choice defence available, the moment Kos is fit Holding gets injured, for me Holding was very good, injuries though have shown how weak we are.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

30 Dec 2018 08:52:13
Mate we used the injury thing for Arsene to hide behind for years let's not make the same mistake with Dick, we have looked terrible at the back all season and teams who've spent much much less than us at the back look more solid than us.
No more excuses just slow but sure progress.
As much as we shouldn't expect to compete for titles this season or next we most definitely should not make the same mistakes with Dick as we did with Arsene.
We should be upset and we should demand better than yesterday from any Arsenal team, when you haven't got the players you need to adjust your tactics and get the very best out of what you do have and leaving Lacasette on the bench as Arsene did last season at Anfield was infuriating to say the least and only made worse by letting a player who wants out of the club unless we give him 3 times the wage he's worth lead us into the pitch sends out a terrible message to everyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 09:08:10
I’m not hiding mate, it is what it is . The injuries just haven’t helped that’s all.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 09:45:36
Agreed mate of course they haven't helped but every team has them and it's all about how you cope with them.
We just mustn't make the mistake with Dick we did with Arsene and accept excuses from him or worse still make them for him.
5 months 100 plus training sessions our defence should be showing signs of improvement, improving George's defence now that would have been a huge ask of anyone but Arsenes defence? It wouldn't seem the most impossible job in the world by a long long way.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 09:57:44
Kos and Kola were injured in plenty time to have a replacement plus Chambers went out on loan after that. Per retired the prior season, Nacho a year older while Mavropanos has been injured all season.
He adds a 37 year old freebie from Juve - not a suitable solution - so really only added Sokratis

Injuries and quality and numbers were always going to be a challenge do Emery is both unlucky but has himself or back staff to blame.

We shouldn’t give him excuses but give him time plus a bit of pressure to learn and learn quickly or we will never improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 10:33:35
Chambers should be sold he is awful, you say plenty of time? But Dick joined us so late and in a WC year there is no time to get anyone.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 12:18:48
While it still had problems, holding, soc and mustaffi, with bellerin and kolasinac as wing backs actually looked to have some legs. The team looked balanced and we had lacca and auba up front. Since then and injuries, its all gone pete tong. I actually think Dick had hit on something to improve on but now we are in a mess. Injuries at the wrong time was key.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 14:44:11
Sorry lads maybe I'm being to tough but I've heard all these injury excuses or reasons so many times before, whenever a big club gets thrashed 9/ 10 it's Arsenal, it was embarrassing under Arsene and it certainly doesn't feel any less painful under Dick.
If we are ever to progress we need to stop being the whipping boys of the top clubs.
Liverpool United Spurs even Chelsea have had poor seasons periods runs but none of them got totally blown away anywhere near as often as we have over the last decade.

Agree1 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 15:02:29
Your not mate my point - made poorly is that Dick has been a tad unlucky because it’s lot his squad, he’s had no time to get quality in really, in 12 months time my words might be different.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 15:52:17
Gunner somethings gone drastically wrong in the last month and its coincided with defenders going sick en bloc. We were coping better up until then and haven't coped since. Having xhaka, lich, kos and amn in fairly frequently and not first choice options definitely hasn't helped us at all. We are definitely letting in more easy goals since than we were.

Agree0 Disagree0

30 Dec 2018 15:55:34
But i also don't think the standard of defending is acceptable either at the moment.
