Having Alexis back gives us a huge boost.
He should be fighting fit for the rest of the season and will hopefully show no signs of tiredness.

Couldn't agree more dags
He looked sharp today, not tip top sharp but minutes on the pitch n he'll be back to best in no time.
The boy is soooo dangerous. Love him :)

Sanchez Kos Mesut Le Coq Cech Giroud Belerin Monreal Ramsey as long as they all stay fit we'll be fine.

Sanchez is massive and so is la coq. For me also gab has to replace mert, at least for the time being. Those three make a massive difference to the team.

Steve la coq is again another huge boost like you say, he was winning every challenge that came his way n recycled the ball brilliantly. I can't stress enough how he is just as important as alexis is to us.

What a gem we stumbled across :)

Hey gunners,
Unfortunately I wasn't able to watch the match today. Good win anyway.
So how was Elneny guy, just read couple of good points about his game. How's his potential?

Hes definitely not a holding mid and probably won't hold down a regular place, squad player at the moment but may progress.

One game Steve?

Steve, did you see him play? Write ups seem to suggest he played well.

30 Jan 2016 19:32:57
Sy4 yes, he's got a good engine, never stopped running, left wing right wing, in the box, edge of the box. He won't play when coq plays with caz, he's not a coq replacement and he won't be a starter this season, i think he will be like gab, on the bench and play when players are injured. I think he will be behind coq, ramsay, caz, wishire ( when fit ) we will see.

I see steve not very impressed.
Any one else but steve lol. Just kidding mate, really.
Your opinion make sense most of the time.
Hopefully I'll get to see his contribution to the game in the game highlights.

Moe you are not getting my drift, never said i was or wasnt impressed, i gave an opinion of what he will or will not give us. The guy is not a replacement for coq and he is a decent player, but whether he is a future regular, only time will tell.

Agree0 Disagree0

31 Jan 2016 01:09:00
Moe he is a box to box player, a la ramsay., caz and wilshire. If wenger thinks he can make him a def mid, he needs time to see if it can be done. For me coqs replacement or challenger has not been bought yet.

Steve,
Wenger can easily turn Elneny into a DM.
He's big, strong, athletic. All Arsene needs to do is instil a bit of discipline into his game.

Elneny will be a major player for us for years to come.
I have a gut feeling, Elneny will be our new Vieira.

Only see the highlights on motd but he looked more than reasonable from those, because of our intricate style of play fitting in quickly at Arsenal must be more difficult than at most clubs especially for a midfielder so I'd give him 8/ 10 judging by the bits I saw.
Obviously there will bigger tests ahead that will give us a better idea of how good he is but so far so good.

Not easy today, will be tough i think, but why is chambers right back, square pegs round holes again, give the kid a chance.

Cast your mind back to Sheff Wed

Big gamble IMO Burnley are no mugs.

That line up is good enough to beat any championship team easily. whether they do it depends on them but on paper that team should comfortably beat any championship team so in my eyes it's a strong team

Don't get me wrong I don't underestimate them as you say look at the Sheffield game these teams will give everything.

I'm going with 3-0.

Cushti :)

Thought elneny had a solid game for his debut, nice range of passing, gets around the field, nice first game for him.

What you guys think?

Even if it was a big gamble it paid off. Many first team players got a rest, specially Ramsey and we won. Couldn't ask for more.

So since Coq limped off vs WBA 11 games ago we have dropped 15 points, in the previous 11 games we dropped 7 points.

Why didn't we get a good back up in the summer? We always get Key players out with no real cover :- ( We should be 6-8 points clear by now.

In the summer I and a few others got slated for suggesting we needed another defensive midfielder to challenge le coq. People stating that because he had done so well etc etc we shouldn't waste our money because it would halt his progress etc. The bigger picture is that we do need at least two if not three def midfielders of coqs standard to challenge. Our defence needs to be protected, from the way we play. Arteta and flamini as cover is not good enough.
