Anyone watching this England match v Peru?
Booooorrrrriiinng or what.
Rooney 300k a week that's got to be the biggest waste of money ever paid for a player. What does he do for England? absolutely nothing in my opinion. So glad we never ended up with him. Jacks just come on now let's hope he doesn't get over ambitious.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Totally agree Golds, I'm not saying Rooney isn't good, but over-rated IMO

Agree0 Disagree0

For utd when he's good he's very good, when he's bad he's awful.
For England when he's good he's playing against Malta or Luxembourg full stop.

Agree0 Disagree0

Are you having a pop at Malta G62?

I'm half Maltese, lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - well it says in the advert...you always get a giggle with maltesers dags.. :)

Haha dags, I'll tell ya what it's not so much maltesars that I have a problem with, more there children, agreed?

Agree0 Disagree0

No no DG Malta are a fine Footballing Nation and Rooney always raises his game for such occasions, its the minors of Germany and Portugal he can't seem to get him self up for.
Back to the mighty Mattresses do you remember when they beat Turkey in the Iceland world cup

Agree0 Disagree0

Definitely Ed, hence the poor jokes, lol.

On a side note, I bet you was happy Jags played and scored and John Stones came off the bench?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ouch Saint, but I agree lol.

G62, we are an up and coming footballing nation, it's just taking a lot longer than expected, lol.

I probably won't be able to post later.

My wife has to put up a lot being married to me

She always says I'm always like a little kid, but she loves me lots.

So, going to take her out for a no-expense spared meal tonight, all the trimmings.

She deserves it.

Do you still get a toy with a happy meal?
I want that little blue dinosaur thingy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

DAGS
You are smoother then giroud, I hope you got a premier inn booked.
I feel a hatrick comming on

Agree0 Disagree0

Give up the "comedy" Dags and stick to being Remys agent!

Agree0 Disagree0

Hehe thank you Welsh.

Greeny, you know me, I always splash a bit of comedy on everything, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - there are different types of comedians dags..i would put you in the chuckle brothers, mike and bernie winters, and krankies bracket.. :)

I thought the Remy thing was part of his act Greeny :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

Wife told me in the bedroom the other night to take her to heaven and back. didn't quite manage that but told her I had crashed her car and she hit the ceiling.

Agree0 Disagree0

Ouch Ed, ouch lol

*Confused*
Wenger says he is signing 2-3 players and we all know that a RB and a GK is a priority now.So what do you think will happen to the other compulsory areas the DMF, CF, CB, WG? Can someone please explain to me?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He may not sign a RB, with Jenkinson & Bellerin covering the position. We of course need a keeper and the other two will be a midfield player & a forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

Joey
I don't think Lord Wenger is going to show all his aces and tell everybody what we are after,
The wiley old fox wants his name in lights again,
In lord Wenger we trust

Agree0 Disagree0

30 May 2014 17:09:22
In wenger I trust, do you?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - very much so saint..

Lol, don't be sarky Ed

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not you know dags, he is for me the best manager in the prem, but a lot of you just dont appreciate what you have mate..

To be fair, I have heard you say that before.
Fair play mate, and I make you right.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I do

Agree0 Disagree0

We have the best manager and you have the second best, Martinez is a top quality manager who you shouldn't take for granted either

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im not saint, i love the guy mate, but has yet to prove himself at the top level...but im sure he will..

30 May 2014 16:58:52
Wenger finally signs

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats great news for arsenal fans..

Very good news but not sure why people were so worried

It wouldn't bother me if he never puts pen to paper, his word is good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - im with you dags, he is a man of high morals and integrity..

Absolutely Ed,

Me and Arsene are a rare breed, lol.

I said to my wife this morning,

"Sometimes I feel high, sometimes I feel low".

She said, " Get off the swings Dags and let the little girl have a go".

Does Jeremy Irons laugh to himself when he's ironing?.

Anyone else not mind eto'o if we could get him on a relatively decent wage

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I would be livid if we signed Eto'o. Far too old and simply not good enough. Plus, he would want a ridiculous wage.

Agree0 Disagree0

Say no to:

Eto'o

Remy

Heskey

Crouch

Agree0 Disagree0

Not for me Saint because he would than stop the development of Sanogo.

Oh, wait a minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would prefer Remy over Eto'o to be honest. Remy is a similar-type of player (I think he's better) and doesn't have ridiculous wages.

Watch Remy this World Cup. I have a feeling he will shine

Agree0 Disagree0

Aha, well and truly put in my place, I think he'd be alright, has a point to prove and could really help nurture the young players, on the other hand he could nurture them into money grabbing 'people'

Agree0 Disagree0

Thank you Messenger, a man after my own heart.

Any one else seen Di Maria comments about Spurs!
Di Maria "It hurts when you’re always doing your best for your club and then you hear that you might be going to Tottenham."
This. Is. Brilliant.
Also in the same interview talked about possibility of moving this summer and how several clubs have already said they'll meet Madrid demands.
Sign him up!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

What a absoloute legend, he's cemented himself as an arsenal legend and he has even joined us yet

Agree0 Disagree0

Love it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sign him up for those comments alone! The guy is quality on the pitch too!

"Many things were said, sometimes you think a lot and it hurts you when you are trying to always do your best for a club and then it comes out that you might be going to Tottenham." - Di Maria

Even if he doesn't join us, he's a legend now!

Massive rumours that the deal for Alvaro Morata has been agreed. Also, Adrien Rabiot is another player we are negotiating to purchase.

Assuming we sign the above, the only reinforcements I can see are a keeper for sure and more than likely a right-back. A centre back will be signed if Vermaelen departs.

Keeper-wise, Ruddy would be a good purchase, as he would be reasonably priced, experienced and English (helps our foreign quota).

At Right-back, I would like to see Micah Richards, who is English and can play at centre back as well as at right-back.

Ashley Wiliiams would be a good shout if Vermaelen departs. He is Welsh so qualifies as a homegrown player and can cover at left-back.

Ideally we would need a 4th centre back, possibly a young up & coming player?

If the above signings are made the squad would be strong enough to compete on all fronts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

More young players with potential is possibly not what Gooners are hoping for in this transfer window. Surely, we don't sign a 21yo with potential, only to sell him back in a year or 2? Much prefer proven players that we get for keepsys. However, if we get Morata permanently, very good deal. Gives Giroud support, without ruffling his feathers as a "replacement". Rabiot looks great, but I'd hope we get a proven dm to mentor him. Really hope Griezman happens!

Agree0 Disagree0

Would take that along with a lw Greizman, Di Maria or Pedro?

Following the success of yesterday's quiz questions I have come up with a few more questions for you horrible lot. Remember, no google cheating. Just have an educated guess. Dagenham Gunner, just have a guess.

1) Following the FA Cup victory over Hull, how many MAJOR honours has Wenger won in his time as Arsenal Manager?(Don't include community shield or the Emirates cup or indeed the fourth place trophy!)

2) Which player has made the most appearances this season: and how many appearances did they make (in all competitions).

3) Arsenal scored their 9000th goal in their history this season. Question is, who scored it? Bonus points for guessing the opposition!

Good luck ladies and mental men!

2. Per Mertesacker had 50+ I think
3. Giroud

Agree0 Disagree0

1. 8 major trophies
2. Mertesacker - 50 apps
3. Kieran Gibbs!?

No idea for the 3rd one but the first 2 I can make an educated guess haha

Agree0 Disagree0

Was it me, did I do it?

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok not bad guys!

Wenger has won 12 major trophies in his time as manager of Arsenal.

Per Mertesacker was our leading appearance maker with 52 appearances.

No-one is even close with who scored our 9000th goal this season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I thought Wenger has won 3 Premier Leagues and 5 FA Cups with Arsenal including our FA Cup this season!?

Ill take a wild guess at Ramsey's goal to win us that most recent trophy?

Agree0 Disagree0

12
Per
And for the 9000th goal, then man who always comes up trumps, koscielny?

Agree0 Disagree0

Greeny,

sorry this is coming a bit late.
Just checked in now. the goal was scored by Ramsey (it also happens to be the last goal of the season and the goal that won us the FA cup and ended our trophy drought). special goal I must say.

Agree0 Disagree0

So. It wasn't me

Agree0 Disagree0

Ramsey's FA cup winner against Hull was indeed our 9000th goal! Well done team!

Agree0 Disagree0

Also, apologies to all. Wenger has won 12 trophies at Arsenal but that included charity/community shields.

7 MAJOR trophies (3 premier league titles and 4 FA Cups)

Agree0 Disagree0

With the win over Hull we have won 5 FA Cups under Wenger?!

3 prem titles
5 FA cups
4 community shields.

Dags, too slow my friend. Early bird catches the worm. At least that's what my missus says in the morning.

Can anyone please explain why Wenger hasn't signed his new contract?
I have a feeling he is delaying signing until he sees how France do in the World Cup. If they perform poorly there may be an opportunity for him to become manager, which I don't feel he will refuse.
The close season is taking the usual path. First we get linked with a host of top quality players, then we lose out in protracted negotiations. Finally, after we qualify for the CL proper, we are panicked into making last minute signings.
We have already lost Fabianski, Sagna, Viviano & Bendtner. We could possibly lose Vermaelen as well. So we need 4, possibly 5 players at least, just restore numerical balance to the squad. I know the window isn't actually open, but deals are clearly being done, subject to registration when the window opens.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he wasn't going to sign a contract he wouldn't have said that he was. Iv said before it's more than likely already done. Arsenal as a club just don't shout about these things. Same when it comes to deals being done.

Agree0 Disagree0

If there's a gap between the old contract ending and the new one starting would Arsene be eligible to sign on?
That would please ukip I'm sure

Agree0 Disagree0

G62, 😄, best thing I've ever heard, can just imagine him in his coat, with his envelope in his hand and faraga just looking on disapprovingly

Agree0 Disagree0

Just heard that Wenger has signed for a further 3 years. One very pleased Gooner.
