How angry i am at our players and wenger right now. leceister city will win the title this season. This was our big chance and we blew it. I even doubt if our players have any balls at all. We dropped points in games we should have easily won. No way we are catching leceister.11 points gap is impossible with 6 games to go. seriously wenger needs to go at the end of this season. If he can't win the league against ranieri and pochettino he won't damn sure win it against guardiola, perhaps the greatest coach of this generation. a guy miles ahead of anyone tactically and as painful as it sounds, a guy we had the chance to get. I only see pain in the horizon. rant over.

A lot of logic in the rant.

The time to be angry was weeks ago?! You annoyed Leicester won? We have been playing well and look good. It's a bit of a delayed reaction.

Any chance of us making a summer move for Romelu Lukaku. He's publicly stated he wants out in search of champions league football, plus he's also mentioned that he'd love to play club football with his brother who I notice we've been linked with in today's papers. Any info eds?

I think we'd all look him to join us and with the chances we create its difficult to think he would be anything less than a successful signing but he will have lots of options to choose from both in this country and abroad.
We need to give him to reasons to think he will achieve more than just to 4 and CL last 16 if he came to us.
Personally I think we need to show genuine intent to sign 3 top players this summer if we are to convince the likes of Lukaku that Arsenal are their best option for winning the big trophies.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:09:03
Funnily enough I don't think he's an arsenal type player. he's fast he's powerful and he's an handful but he's not the most gifted technically and does blow hot and cold. If we did go for him great but I think he will end up elsewhere.

03 Apr 2016 20:26:19
I can't see DW OG or TW leaving so I'm not too sure AW will spend big bucks on a forward.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:38:32
Dont forget Arteta / Rosicky and Flamini will be gone so that leaves a hole, surely he knows a CB is needed, I really can't see us getting a forward as AW thinks we have a lot of fire power.

He will say that DW missed 5-6 months of the season, Sanchez missed 8 weeks, we won't think history will repeat itself so will strengthen elsewher.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:38:46
I think Theo will be on the move this summer to both raise funds and free up big wages, Theo is probably the highest value assets we have but are prepared to let go, if he misses out on the Euro's he will be desperate to try and make the 2018 squad so might well be up for a move as much as us.
Olly will stay if as long as he's wanted and Danny ain't going anywhere IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:39:58
I can see og and tw being pushed down the pecking order if they stay because I think we will try to sign a cf. Its not as if they are 19 and can improve.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:59:40
Not so sure on Lukaku and Arsenal would be a good fit with our style of play but maybe such an alternative is exactly what we need? . Like Steve R says he is very hold and cold and can be unplayable one game and anonymous the next. He would likely cost 40 mill mark and I am not sure that is good value to be honest. For me Someone Like a Cavani would be a better option.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:09:30
Come on you lot, we are talking about Arsenal here.

Wenger won't spend now we have Iwobi :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:46:50
Olly has been saying ever since he arrived he would welcome competition for his place, he probably knows himself well enough to know he personally needs to be kept on his toes consistantly to produce his best as when's he's fisrt chioce he seems to lose his edge but once dropped seems to rediscover it again.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:23:14
I don't rate him as much as most people. Kane pisses all over him. Aubamayang or is real Madrid get him let's get benzema. At least they would be some sex tapes knocking about.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Apr 2016 03:28:20
Derby - 'pisses all over him', 'sex tapes' - I think you want the R Kelly thread!

We won't sign anyone because we have got the Yaya Sanogo returning to us in the summer :) (the sad thing is i'm only half joking)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2016 10:18:49
Derbys over 16 so r kelly won't be interested.

03 Apr 2016 19:32:40
No surprise today really

I wasnt expecting Leicester to drop anything today

We won't be that far away come the end. wins instead of defeats to Man U and Swansea and the league would have been ours

I see a four point gap between us and The foxes come the end with Spuds a further 2 or 3 pts back.

Second place is looking the most likely place for us to finish mate which many will see as progress which strictly speaking I suppose it is but somehow this season doesn't seem any different to me than all the other recent seasons.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:28:16
Its hardly progress as we miss out on the 4th place trophy : (

We have missed out big time but then Chelsea, M City even Man U will say the same as all the 'big boys' have been poor.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:42:13
2nd 3rd or fourth will leave a very sour taste this season. Finishing second this year is definately not seen as progress, just an unusual chance missed big style.

We are being strongly linked to Dortmund's Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Don't know too much about him but if you look at his stats (Wikipedia) , the guy is phenomenal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Apr 2016 18:21:25
I don't knpow him either Dags but being a Dortmund player won't Klopp have the upper hand if he moves? And if Klopp don't want him why?
Just thinking out load mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he is very quick and a goalscorer.}

03 Apr 2016 18:28:45
Sounds good to me Ed, is Jurgen interested mate?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the issue is that he said he would not look to poach players off Dortmund. So it is unlikely he will move for him.}

03 Apr 2016 19:00:29
G62,
Ed is correct.
He is an attacking midfielder (Not Ed) and has an amazing goalscoring record.

Has pace, quick feet and loves playing behind the striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 19:06:47
Cool thanks Ed for clearing that up mate, as you were Dags :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 19:09:13
Just read Eds reply Dags, sounds good to me mate and if he's good enough for Dortmund he's worth a look if nothing else.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 19:27:35
G62,
The guy's stats are amazing.
Pat Nevin raves about him and says he's the next Frank Lampard.

Worth a punt me thinks.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 18:20:20
Amazing player dags. Does play as a 10 tho. Not sure itl happen where would he play for us?

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Apr 2016 19:43:44
Sounds the business Dags and if he's interested in joining us I hope we pull out all the stops to get him, Derby I know you like your players and follow European football quite closely so I respect your opinion mate, let's get him then worry about how we can get the best out of him and Mesut together :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 19:45:03
Thought he could be play RW too?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 20:54:49
He is good player no doubt but he is yet another attacking midfielder which we have plenty of where would he fit in? we don't want another square pegs round hole situation again like we have when Ramsey is picked, which unbalanced the side. This to me only Makes sense if Cazorla is sold.

We need a reliable striker and a CB to replace Mertasaker as the main weak point in our side. I did think we needed another experienced DM but the Elneny and Le Coq partnerships has really shown to be effective of late so Not so much of a concern for me now.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:12:19
Derby,
He's a AM but perfectly suited to a No.10 role (apparently) .

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:26:36
He can play on the right but I my view he's best as a 10. Plus I like Alexis on the right. Next year I see jefv Adelaide joining iwobi in the first team ranks. Suddenly we have many wide men.

Will the ox go to make room? Campbell?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 22:37:14
Is a number 10 not an attacking mid dags? Or does a 10 also keep goal.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2016 07:52:22
Pretty much Derby lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 15:41:56
Leicester city have made the absolute most of themselves and may well yet hit the 80 points mark this season, who can deny if they keep going as they are they will be every inch very worthy champions.
What an amazing fairytale for the team who this time last season looked all but relegated.

03 Apr 2016 15:54:22
Gunner they have done the job properly and are worthy champs. I never did hold the idea they were in a false place and would drop away.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 16:26:21
It's amazing really. They have looked good enough all season! Can you imagine what their fans must be feeling. What a story.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 16:34:12
They are an incredible team.
I know some say they have been lucky with injuries, but they are having to play the same 13/ 14 players every game.

Not once have they complained about tiredness.

They deserve lots of credit.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 19:39:30
I hold my hands up and admit I never believed in them. I do now!

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 21:07:32
Worthy Champs no doubt about it, No fluke they have only lost 3 Times remember. It is very much a case of the sum of the whole is far greater than the sum or the parts. At the start of the season if your asked any one of us we would not have taken any of their players over ours based on pure talent.

It just goes to prove it is not just about talent it is about desire, attitude, fighting for each other and most importantly an effective game plan that suits your players that everyone buys into and believes in so that everyone pulls together behind the manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Apr 2016 00:32:52
Ryan don't underestimate, there's a hell of a lot of talent in that team, that goes with workrate and belief. I would have the goalie vardy kante mahrez huth drinkwater and ulloa at arsenal, if not all starters but most would tomorro . Watch them play, they don't leave anything in the dressing room, but that can becsaid for most. Plus ranieri has produced miracles, class.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Steve, agree and it's very frustrating. Gabs said they were more focused! Why were you not focused against Liverpool, Swansea etc with so much to play for 😫.

03 Apr 2016 07:51:40
Well Played yesterday, even though Watford were supposedly "poor " you can only beat what's in front of you at the time. I thought Iwobi Alexis And Danny were outstanding, while Ozil was his mercurial best. and it's scary to say but Bellerin wouldn't have looked out of place occupying either RB Spot in El Classico (IMO)
And Maybe am being delusional but i feel we get more posts and posters when we lose than when we have a positive result, which is disappointing.

03 Apr 2016 08:21:50
Agree with you on that last bit mate.

Agree0 Disagree4

03 Apr 2016 08:44:17
Bellerin is a top player . put him on a very long term deal I say

Lets hope Saints can get a point today

Leicester still have W Ham, Man U, Everton and Chelsea to play.

Well done to the biyse.

{Ed025's Note - its going to be very interesting rue, there will be plenty of twists and turns in the next few weeks mate and i for 1 am really looking forward to it..

03 Apr 2016 10:46:16
We played well yesterday positive no question but Watford were unquestionably poor and not a patch on the side that beat us in the cup game, they've been on the beach for a long time mentally as far as the league is concerned.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 11:08:49
As Tom Jones always says Steve its not unusual for us to kick into action when the north London title and top 4 place are called into question, they are the absolute minimum requirements and everyone knows it at Arsenal.

03 Apr 2016 12:01:21
What great aspirations gunner for supposedly such a massive club. Really where is your desire to win.

Agree0 Disagree5

03 Apr 2016 12:17:24
It's going to be like a horse race. You will see the pedigree hunt down the line now boys. I drove through Leicestershire yesterday and I can tell you that ain't a home for champions. We're going to smash our way to the tittle. And that's the official line from me until it's mathematically impossible 💪👍🏻🤘🏻 COYG.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 14:03:53
Don't ask me Northeast mate I'm just saying how it is not how it should be. Its no coincidence that if we get ahead in the race for top 4 in the first half of the season we switch off and if we start slow we always always rally to make sure we hit those two targets season in season out without fail never anymore and never any less, its where the manager club players and many fans are mentally either subconsciously or consciously.
12_seasons on the trot?

Ozil reportedly wants £200,000 per week to extend his deal. Should we pay it and presumably a similar amount to Sanchez?
My own opinion is yes, as we need to retain our top players in the prime of their careers.
In addition replacing them with similar quality players, will cost similar wages.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

03 Apr 2016 09:11:52
Negotiate how we duf with Adans. Pay him what he is worth.
Good to see the old social us pay structure is changing - he's worth it so pay it.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 09:54:57
Not being funny but if we can pay Theo 140,000 week 200,000 for Mesut and Sanchez is underpaying them, plus how can Kos only be worth paying half the wage of Jack and Theo?

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 11:11:16
At any other team that has an interest in either Ozil or Alexis both players could demand £220k+ and get it no questions asked.

If we have real designs on pushing on it is imperative that players of Ozil, Alexis, Kos, Bellerin's callibre etc are tied to long contracts and payed what they deserve end of.

Time to move average players like Theo, Arteta, Flamini etc on and free up their wages, crazy stuff that Theo earns what he does, bang average at best and definitely not good enough for Arsenal FC.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Apr 2016 10:19:39
I said ages ago we won't win the title until we pay a player more than Wenger. Let's hope the deal is done before may :) haha

When I heard of them being offered 150k a week I laughed. 200k is fair. Pay it and move on to some signings.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Apr 2016 13:45:55
Agree and Kos should be paid more - I was very surprised at his pay but his agent negotiated it at the time and was clearly happy.

Solid win yesterday, which also closed the goal difference gap with Leicester.
I believe we need a minimum of 6 wins and one draw to have any chance of finishing top. The two most difficult matches are away to West Ham and Man City, one of which we need to win, whilst drawing the other.
Leicester could drop points in the following matches in particular; Sunderland (A) , West Ham (H) , Man U (A) , Everton (H) and Chelsea (A) . 2 defeats away at United and Chelsea and two draws opens the door for us to win on goal difference!
Tottenham, assuming we win our match in hand against WBA, will only be a point ahead of us. They have the following tricky matches; Man U (H) , Stoke (A) and Chelsea (A) . Assuming we only drop 2more points, then we would need Tottenham to drop 4 points, which equates to 2 draws.
My gut feeling is that Leicester will finish top, but 2nd place is up for grabs.

Believable3 Unbelievable3

03 Apr 2016 09:16:27
Agreed - seems like a bridge too far for us to win it. A few stupid draws ( Southampton at home) or stupid losses ( West Ham at home or Swansea ) have cost us like it has cost many teams. But frustrating as a win in one of those games would have made all the difference. The last poor run we had really cost us, a run that saw record number of shots but an embarrassment in points.
