rights lads its upto you saturday I want exactly the same performance against the scousers as you delivered at the emirates so no pressure

i'm very very happy with the result tonight but it will be worth nothing unless we build on it

AOC f**kin outstanding young man, let get up there and do the job

COYG let's make hay while the sun shines are we're classed as the outsiders punching above our weight

Spare a thought for Old Ignation. I think he had a 7 fold bet going into tonight's game and he wanted a draw to win £3000.

Sorry mate.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I had a similar bet but well I refer to it as an emotional hedge and staying top putting a little wobble under citeh i'm thinking is an outcome I can cope with

don't get me wrong the cash would have been far better but well top of the league rolls of the tongue :)

Happy with result tonight

City are better team so if we want to win it then they need to drop points

No difference between 2nd and 3rd to me as both straight into Europe.

But huge difference between 1st and 2nd - hence a good result as I want 1st place not 2nd.

If we ain't going to win it - 3rd and FA cup will have to do.

Chelsea beat City 1-0.

Is that good for us? I think it's ok because it keeps us 2 points above both of them. Fair to say the league is in our hand's as we have to play City at home and Chelsea away.

4 huge games coming up now. Last big run we had ended in 2 wins and 2 losses (Dortmund, Liverpool, Man U, Dortmund). I think this one will be harder as our squad is thinner and the games are closer together. Really going to miss Ramsey and Walcott.

So I ask. Out of the next four games, If you could prioritise 2 to win, 1 to draw and 1 to lose what would they be. For me we have to win the FA cup tie as its a great chance to win some silver. Also the Utd game as I hate them more than any other club and we owe it to them. Away vs Liverpool I wouldn't be too disgruntled with a draw, and no shame in going out to Bayern, itll help lower the burden of a packed schedule in March/April.

Obviously I want us to win all 4, but there's minute odds of that happening, even If we had a fully fit squad. Really want a trophy this year and we have to stay ahead of City and Chelsea until we play them next month.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ideally we win all 4 ofc. But realistically, if that was offered right now? I would be tempted to take it.

Agree0 Disagree0

Defiantly the 2 league games, and if we beat Dortmund in champions league will be amazed as we are playing bayern:)

Agree0 Disagree0

For me we have to beat Liverpool and I would sell my brother to beat Man Utd. I am literally DESPERATE to beat Manchester United and RVP!

So, in true devils advocate answer:

Beat both Liverpool and Manchester United in the league. Draw 0-0 against Bayern and draw 1-1 away! Lose to Liverpool in the FA cup. I'm putting all my eggs in a title winning basket! Was debating a draw against Liverpool but we theoretically wouldn't want another game!

Agree0 Disagree0

Dg I see your post now.

Want to win the league games that is the cups will be a bonus.

Sorry mate my bad

Agree0 Disagree0

You make a good case for your choices Detroit but mine would be.
2 wins league games utd Liverpool
Draw Bayern ( win 2 leg)
Defeat Liverpool cup game SPIT SPIT ( given I have to chose one to comply to your post rules).
I'd be more than happy to take that, top of the table CL QF having already beaten the best over two legs

Agree0 Disagree0

Beat Liverpool away and Manchester United at home because for me, the league takes priority.

Lose to BD away and draw with them at home. Would love us to go further in CL but I don't think we have the team to go any further.

No shame is losing to BD.

I absolutely want 6 points from the first 2 games, then it's who plays in the FA cup before Munich.

Don't want a draw in the FA cup but would except one against Bayern.

We have following those four games the no easy tasks of facing Stoke, Sunderland and Swansea.

So there is no real let up before the big big games in March, Munich, Spurs, Chelsea and City.

Seems like forever since we had so much in the way of fixtures to look forward too.

Agree0 Disagree0

I really desperately don't want to lose any. If it had to be one, I agree that Bayern's the one. Maybe draw at Anfield and win the other 2. We'd actually do very well to get that, but I believe we can go into every game looking to win. Next one's probably the hardest, but if we can contain SAS then we can win it.

Agree0 Disagree0

3-1 win versus Bayern at home
Nil nil draw against Liverpool
3 nil win versus Manchester United
2-1 loss to Bayern away

Problem solved

Wish list for tonight
city 0 chelski 0
Chelski park the bus no shots at all on target or other wise with morinho describing their performance as 21st century football at its best.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

LOL

How wrong were you, Chelsea should have won by at least 3 goals, they were excellent

Agree0 Disagree0

Not quite what I'd hoped for but next best.
Still TOP OF THE LEAGUE

Agree0 Disagree0

Pretty good result for us - will be a big break in City's confidence. Bit worried about Chelsea though. City are, dare I say, a bit like we were a few seasons ago - devastating on their day but slightly prone to bottling it. Plus Pellegrini has never really won anything of note. Chelsea are a bigger threat in some ways, Mourinho knows how to win 10 games 1-0 if it means coming top. Great game though and going to be a great run in.

Neil Warnock talking sense on Arsenal on BT Sport re Arsenals signing and transfer policy, I quote "they are top of the league who would not want to be, on Kim "yes he is out for 6 weeks but at the end of the season will be invaluable, time constraints on deadline makes you have to make such decisions" a proper view from someone who knows what it is like unlike MOTD, Another insight was " You don't get an Ozil every window they are just not there" Kudos xx

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Makes sense to me, so did Wenger's reply when questioned

Midfield is where we are picking up injuries - Rambo, Rosicky, Jack, Arteta etc etc so makes sense to have experienced cover for the run in

With all the negative news about Kim Kallstroms transfer(for which none is his fault) I would just like to share a link in why I for one am very happy that he is now a part of Arsenal football club. clubhttp://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/news-and-comment/kim-kallstrom-how-the-arsenal-transfer-target-went-viral-after-comforting-an-eightyearold-boy-9098855.html

Have seen so many footballers leading out these young impressionable kids and not give them an once of attention this is refreshing so welcome to Arsenal Kim.

Now get fit and help us out for the coming months.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Beautiful!

Very touching, brought a lump in my throat.

I am proud to say that the way our club is run, I honestly think that every single one of our players would do the same.

One thing AW has done is made sure that we only sign true professionals and we have got rid of all the 'bad apples' that will upset the cart.

Nice post shaneyd

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah that's nice and refreshing and clearly says something about him as a person.

Well he could well have an impact on the last 3 months of season- funnier things have happened.

Agree0 Disagree0

Absolutely brilliant. I stopped watching the news years ago because I got fed up with just watching all the awefull things going on in the world.

It's really refreshing to read something good like that and shows what a nice man he is. Welcome to Arsenal Kallstrom I'm sure you will fit right in.

Thanks for the post Shanneyd.

Agree0 Disagree0

Welcome home Kim!

Agree0 Disagree0

Well have to say I have felt a bit sorry for him with all their negative news and views since he joined us.
The more news that emerges about his loan/injury the less bizarre it becomes.
This story shows Arsene has signed yet another top bloke and I really hope he wins a permanent contract with us with some fantastic performances that earn him the respect he so obviously deserves

Agree0 Disagree0

It is the most incredible thing I think I've seen a footballer do, it shows just how kind he is that even though he's 'working' he takes that time out to help out a child with a disability, he's the type of player that only Arsenal look for! The man is just a legend before he turned up, imagine how he would leave if he scored a few important goals? Welcome Kim, you fantastic human being!

Agree0 Disagree0

Just told my wife-to-be and she started crying :( she really doesn't like football btw. She did say something really funny though, I said "you wouldn't catch Rooney doing that would you?" To which she replied "well that's because he would be one of the mascots" lol that is one of the funniest things I've heard her say.

Hi gents, particularly Dagenham Gunner

I'm a liverpool fan, just popping over from the liverpool board.

I didn't get a chance to watch the games on Sunday. seen the teamsheet on flashcores that has the ox as a dm, did he really play this role? I would have expected cazorla to play that position out of the lineup, given injuries to ramsey and wilshere and no flamini. If he played that position did he play well and do his defensive duties?

Also do you guys expect a to play a full strength team in all your upcoming fixtures? Or do you think you will field a weakened team in the FA cup?

It's good to see you boys doing well!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ox was played centrally beside Arteta, with Arteta staying deep and allowing Ox to go forward. So more of a box to box midfielder. Up until now he has been deployed as a wide player, but Wenger and himself sees him as a central player in the future. It was nice to see his brace yesterday coming from the left.

As far as the F.A cup is concerned I would like Wenger to take it very seriously, and I think he will. We have enough good midfielders to put out a strong midfield, and any serious changes will come if there are any niggles. If there are changes my money would be on Bendtner, Vermaelan,
Fabianski, but I hope not.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

In answer to the Ox question, playing alongside Arteta gave him the opportunity to push forward, not in a defensive role.

As far as the Liverpool games go, we need to rest some players against them as we have big games in the next 6 weeks. I wouldn't want to break up our centre backs, I would expect Giroud, Ozil, Cazorla and possibly one or two others to be rotated so they're fit against the big teams.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hi Bobatron,

Yes, he sort of played alongside Arteta, but he was the one who went forward all the time and Arteta sat back in the defensive mid role, hence the 2 goals for the Ox.

I honestly think Wenger will play his strongest team in probably all the games, maybe, resting a few for the FA Cup against you boys.

PS, nice to see you on here Bobatron, you and the Scouse boys are always welcome.

Morning chaps and Jenny

I know a few of you like a punt on the football and I would ask you all to say a little prayer to whoever you subscribe to for my bet.

I have a 7 team acca going on tonights game and have it down for a draw.

Will win just over 3k and if it cops, I will be in a boozer in North London toasting you all.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Hope it comes in for you. :-)

Good luck and here's hoping for a 6 all draw. ;-)

Agree0 Disagree0

I indeed enjoy a punt, out of curiosity what were the other 6 teams?

Let's hope for you that Mourinho plays back in the 19th century and parks the bus and gets you that draw:)

Agree0 Disagree0

Ooh nice one- I'm sorry to say I fancy city to win this eve- BUT I wouldn't too surprised either if it's a draw.

As we know Mourinho will set his team out, at least not to lose.

Should be an interesting game.

Good luck!

Agree0 Disagree0

I have Cardiff, Sunderland, Liverpool draw, Southampton, Everton and West Ham. Was toying around with Stoke but went against it.

Thanks for all your support.

Love the 6 6 Jenny

Agree0 Disagree0

Surely you have to stick a wedge on wins to cover all bases? Does it make financial sense not to?

Good luck Old.

The signing of Kallstrom with an injury has to be the biggest joke of the year and this is nothing against the player! AW didn't sign Draxler (if the reports are true) because he wasn't worth the money yet he signs a player already injured and will cost god knows how much in salary and medical costs! I'm sure I will soon wake up and breathe a sigh of relief that it was all a nasty dream. But this begs the question raised so many times before, just what is going on with this club? AW clearly identified JD as THE player he wanted yet time slipped away leaving just hours to complete this or any other deal and then, if we are to believe reports, pulled out at the final hour, again this beggars belief! Why are we becoming a laughing stock over transfers, all the other top teams identified their targets and went after them and in most places got them. There is an obvious problem, we are supposedly cash rich but whoever is our negotiator always seems to start haggling to save money. This is, of course highly commendable, but when we go after a player we surely know the cost and go after him knowing that price, but worse still, we persist in leaving all deals until the very last minute. This simply cannot continue, if we want a player get him but if the price is considered too much then go elsewhere before negotiations start but above all, do the deals EARLIER to give us a chance. I'm sure the call will go out again for DD's return!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spartak are paying his wages while he's injured and there was no loan fee.

Agree0 Disagree0

We apparently never made a bid for Draxler only inquired about his availability and were referred to his release clause in the summer. The only bid was from Bayern supposedly didn't meet the clubs valuation. I personally think with Bentner back, Podolski back, the rise of Gnabry and Sanogo back training there isn't really any need to strengthen the front line unless it was a worldclass player with proven prem track record which Draxler doesn't really fit! As much ability as he has got he is by no means the finished product. I think Wilshere and Flammini will back in a couple of games and ox is smashing it centrally and can also cover the wings where exactly would Draxler (who is currently carrying an injury) fit into the team to justify paying 40million for him in an inflated January market? Kallestrom is a proven international with tittle winning and champs league experience for free until his minor back problem is recovered which he got 2 days before signing at least if he turns out to be a mistake its a free mistake not a 40mil one imagine if we signed Draxler and his injury turned into a Wilshere situation wow I'm sure we would have all been ecstatic!

This is the best back 5 we have had in a decade. I hope Gibbs is Wenger's first choice LB and he's just resting him currently.
As for the midfield you'd struggle to find a more creative lot however we still don't have that Vieira type- Arteta gives 100% but he's slow and Flamini has proved to be a liability, maybe that's slightly harsh, but he needs to be more disciplined in staying back and not lunge in.
Giroud, in my opinion, is hugely underrated by the fans. His hard work and hold up play allows our midfield to be so good going forward.
I feel we need a good plan B, as in a striker who can create his own chances and/or balls over the top giving us a genuine chance- you could argue that's Theo.
Final comment is that Arsene has done an incredible job. They had a plan to get us up to the financial powers of the European giants and now we are there- without loans and a sugardaddy. It's been a tough 8-9 years and we should be so proud with what our club has achieved.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Good post Paul I agree entirely.
Well pleased with Ox Yesterday
Theo Aaron Ox Jack Mesut! Plus Gnarby Zelalem and who ever else comes in the summer and our MF is not looking to shabby for the next 5 to 8 years

AW is famed for himing done the impossible with us,

consistent champions league places on a shoestring budget.

faultless job he has done,

but why are people showing so much LOVE for a man who has been brilliant at what he's done.

but no HATE for the men who made him do it?

now i'm sure ivan and silent stan have put in a dear number of gbp into arsenal, but they're worth sooo much between them (not even mentioning usmanov) why didn't they see wenger struggling and inject some cash sooner?

honestly there are two sides to every story, and the dark side of the great wenger story should be looked into and seen by the fans.

i read somewhere that we were practically bankrupt at one point too.

Im not talking invest 100M every season, but when we were lacking the odd 5 mil for our tight transfer budget then sure they could of.

and what about the arsenal prices. surely they don't NEED to have such high ones now we have the puma deal, and will get xtra cash for (fingers crossed) a top 2 finish.

were on the last creaky panel of wood on a very dodgy rope strung bridge, a few more steps and we reach the promised land of trophies and european heavyweightness, but down below are the crashing waves of discontent and dissapointment all swirling around ready to swallow the club.

I hope wenger bright his life jacket!
