My boy jack looks good and has been constantly one of our best players since he came back.

Cant disagree with that, just worry he can't keep it up. Staying fit is huge for him.

Wilshere was awesome last night and has been steadily improving and isn't far short of being back to his best. My reservation is that he is back playing the style that caused his injuries, tempting tackles and making physical challenges.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 09:36:36
I agree but without that in his play he is not as good or effective. Let's hope that he has a grown ups body now.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jan 2018 22:45:37
Still would like to see us go for Mahrez but we're clearly not keen on a player who has proved he has the minerals and is fairly young. but anyone fancy Lanzini? In a better (albeit only slightly) team I think he'd flourish.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2018 23:24:31
I would snap both of them up.

A good draw but a massive run of wins needed now. Starting to come adrift of the top. But didn't lose to pool and didn't lose to chelski.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

03 Jan 2018 23:26:48
We need wins though mate.

I know we were behind in both games, but we were also in front in both.

Add West Brom to that list and that's 6 points dropped in 3 games from a winning position.

Lacaztte is always waiting for that Thro ball but nobody passes it to him.

Wow Ed033, brilliant.

Look at mine, typical Arsenal in top 4 šŸ˜‚

Thanks Ed033.

{Ed033's Note - ok thanks.

Agree Dags, just proves skill and power keeps us easily in the top 4. i'm very proud to top the table in one and second in the other. i'm very emotional right now.

Oh and here's to another year of Steve on repeat!

This is a season defining game for me. A draw is acceptable, a win is paramount. A defeat is good night and good bye.

I donā€™t get all the negativity with xhaka I donā€™t think heā€™s as bad as most are making out, I think some are still bitter we didnā€™t bid for Kante, yes heā€™s not a proper dm but heā€™s not garbage I for one donā€™t mind him he can pass the ball very well and can see a pass when it needs to be done unlike some in the team cough cough Sanchez.

Believable3 Unbelievable4

03 Jan 2018 17:19:02
I was a fan of xhaka. Said give him time. I'm. not bothered we didn't get Kante. That being said I believe I was wrong. He is not good enough. Can have a poor touch. Very often trying the Hollywood ball. And when he isn't he gives the ball away with such sloppy passes. And lastly he cannot tackle for toffee.

03 Jan 2018 17:36:06
My feelings exactly D16.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 18:14:00
He is not up to the premier league standard. The biggest compliment a player can get is from opposition fans. I don't know one who doesn't think he is useless. He is the worse midfielder we have had since denilson.

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jan 2018 18:20:08
99% of xhakas passes are sideways or backward. He slows our midfield down, he can't take players on dribbling, he gives us absolutely nothing, he gets out muscled. He is our second most expensive player and i can't remember one MOM performance. The sooner he goes the better.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 19:16:57
we miss santi so badly.

03 Jan 2018 19:56:08
Heā€™s not that bad.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 00:14:41
I feel like we could easily replace Xhaka with a defensive midfielder with just as good a passing range AND who can actually defend and win the ball back without committing stupid fouls. Unfortunately it seems the case that Wenger will keep playing him just to try and convince himself that he wasn't a rubbish buy.

Thoughts on david luiz everyone?

{Ed007's Note - His Kevin Keegan bubble perm is a thing of wondrous beauty.}

An absolute perfect signing for us.

03 Jan 2018 14:59:50
Not happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 15:28:47
Luiz is precisely the type of defender we can do without. Cavalier, gives the ball away with alarming regularity, and about as tactically astute as Mertesacker is quick. We need someone who can smell danger before it arises.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 15:39:21
Awful. Why do we want another aging player in the squad? Come on guys.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 16:49:38
Hes not awful, go and look at his honours he has won, team and individual. Xhaka is awful david luiz is a top player. You don't understand what it takes to be a top footballer if you think he is awful. He won't be coming to arsenal, he is too good for that and he is too much money for his age. Its not happening.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 17:02:50
He is an "awful" lot better than what we have at the minute.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 17:37:54
My post was joking obviously but I agree with Steve he isn't awful and under certain systems he could well be an asset. But he's not what we need.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 22:36:16
Sano i actually think in midfield with a fit wishire or ramsay he would good for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 23:06:23
Okay re-phrase before you all get upset, I didnā€™t mean he was awful, I mean itā€™s awful that we would even look to sign a near 31 year old. that isnā€™t going to help us we need to build a team for the future! Replacing aged players with more aged players isnā€™t going to sort out our defensive issues. You do know whatā€™s good for the club if you think bringing in a player for 1 or 2 seasons is the way forward. The team need to gel and as soon as heā€™s arrived we will be planning for his replacement! Not how it should be.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 00:24:57
Steve, are you fudging your potatoes stats with useless sideways passes?

Replying multiple times to your own posts and repeating yourself. šŸ˜œ.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 00:41:50
Agree to that 1308.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 11:28:47
So Wenger's first signing is a 20 year old CB who then goes on loan to Werder Bremen. We are down to the bare bones at the back tonight and I can't see us winning a match we desperately need to win in order to stay in touch with the top four. We need at least 3 or 4 major signings this window and yet all we hear are likely departures. Time for Wenger to go and Simeone arrive or Ancelloti until the end of the season.

Believable1 Unbelievable2

03 Jan 2018 13:24:52
Going out on loan or not I don't think that he would have been ready to play tonight. I agree that we need 3-4 maybe more top quality signings but we still need to scout for young talent and that shouldn't change or stop and the signing of the young Greek player has nothing to do with the current situation.

Agree4 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 11:22:21
Hello my gunner friends what is your take on Wallcot do you think he will leave this window and if so I really hope it to Everton would love him at our club always rated him I know he has been hindered by injuries but he seems to have bags of ability would you be happy to get rid, thanks gunners and best of luck for the rest of the season šŸ‘.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jan 2018 14:09:05
StB, i was saying exactly that to an Everton fan last night! I think he would be a good signing for many teams, but in particularly for Everton. That saying, as long as you play him as a forward rather than like us, as a winger, which is not his strong point. As a winger he can't beat players in a 1 on 1 situation like a Mahrez, or on his day, a Lennon can, but as a goal scorer he is proven, especially when slotted through. Therefore play him in front of Rooney and, if he stays, Ross Barclay, and get him running towards the opposition goal (for us, in the winger role, he constantly comes towards the ball player, which completely wastes his natural pace) and i reckon he will do well.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jan 2018 15:49:23
Surely he has to move to get whatā€™s left of his career going and Everton could no doubt afford his wages. It would also be interesting to see, if with a decent run in a team, he can do the business in that central role.

It wonā€™t say anything good about him if he stays to sit on our bench.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2018 15:59:59
I agree Stoner, if he stays with us it says he just wants the money, with no other ambition IMO.
