Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

Assuming we add no one, this is the team I hope we start with

Poldi/Giroud.
Santi Rosicky Theo
Jack Rambo
Monreal Kos BFG Jenks
Shezza

As much as I like Gibbs, Monreal is a world class fullback. He is as good as Jordi Alba IMO. He is a luxury for us and will be the best LB in the PL next season

That team w Poldi/Giroud, Gerv, Ox, Arteta, Verm, Gibbs, Sagna, Fabianski off the bench, is pretty damn good. And there is always the Diaby wildcard. Arteta's age and slowing pace means he should be second half Scholes like substitute. See the game out when we are up.

As much as we are clamoring for signings, this team, as is, with the confidence of how we finished, should be a serious contender on all fronts next year

Additions will only enhance this, but as is, I'm still very excited

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Monreal is a great player but I don't think he's quite world class. I think him and Gibbs should be rotated a bit and see who is player better then continue playing the player on form, nothing wrong with some competition for places! Gibbs can also be played as a winger if he is needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Wenger likes Gibbs better.

Agree0 Disagree0

Maybe you have a point- certainly the second half of the season, as you suggest (Bould finally having an influence on our defence?).

however, the problem is depth, especially if we want to challenge for silverware. Our season, in terms of winning anything was practically over in Feb. This, I believe contributed a little to how we finished i. e. no other distractions in cup comps like some of our rivals. where we could've had more injuries, fatigue, etc.

So I get your point, but adding 2/3 quality and 1/2 good signings could really make all the difference.

here's hoping for some fruitful summer transfer business :)
LG

Agree0 Disagree0

US gooner,

again you're optimism seems too strong. if you think that line up will challenge on all fronts then you and I must have differing opinions of what the work "challenge" really means. to me it means 1. In the league, making the eventual champions worry about losing their spot to us come the end of the season. and 2. for the cups it means we make atleast the last 4 or definetly win it if the last 4 have no united, city, chelsea. and champions league we aren't even close!

You are a perfect example of the clubs falling standards I have to say. you use the word Challenge way too loosely

I know we went on a good run of results at the end of this year. but we always do and bottom line is that we lose the the other big teams too much in league and cup games.

I don't get how you can keep throwing around this false optimism mate!

Scooby Dooby K

Agree0 Disagree0

In the games he played Monreal wasn't as good as Gibbs for Arsenal. Arshavin was world class at Zenit, not at Arsenal. I'd still pick Gibbs ahead of Nacho, but I suspect the idea is to rotate the two anyway.

Imagine if we could nab Rooney from Utd, Cesc back from Barca, chuck in Gonalons, Cesar, Ben Arfa and Micah Richards and I'd be a very very happy gooner.

The squad would be immense.

I am not for one moment saying this is all going to happen but how awesome would we be if it did!

Rooney to replace Arshavin
Gonalons instead of Denilson/Diaby/Coquelin
Cesar in place of Fabianski
Ben Arfa in place of Gervinho
Richards instead of Sagna

Cesc not to replace anyone just to up the quality.

If only.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Cesc would walk back into our first 11.

Agree0 Disagree0

I would hate Rooney to join really can't stand him especially as it was his dive that led to us not getting the 50 game unbeaten run

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney replacing Arshavin as chubby attacker who cost a lot? Sounds good to me.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would be amazing, but I think that's being a bit over ambitious to be honest. Haha nothing wrong with dreaming right ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm not sure i'd bother with Ben arfa or Richards tbh. Better players than both out there available for less money.

My realistic but solid transfer dealings.

Clement Grenier 8 mil
Geoffrey Kondogbia 7 mil
Roberto Soldado 14 mil
Ashley Williams 8 mil
Julio Cesar 3 mil
40 mil
ST: Soldado-Giroud-Sanogo
AM: Cazorla-Rosicky-Grenier-Eisfeld
W: Walcott-Poldi-Gervinho-Ox-Gnabry-Ryo
CM: Wilshere-Arteta-Ramsey
DM:Diaby-Kondogbia-Coquelin
WB:Sagna-Gibbs-Monreal-Jenkinson-Bellerin
CB:Koscielny-Mertesacker-Vermaelan-Williams-Miquel
GK:Cesar-Szscesney

Would you guys see this as a good transfer window?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be good but I still think there is better than Williams around for that kind of cash. no offence to him meant but that's how I feel. real are holding out for 30mil for higuain, I think that with the chances we create he would easily bang in 30 goals a season so we should splurge a bit on him. he is the kind of top striker that would have us challenging again, he has a great goal to game ratio.

DJ

Agree0 Disagree0

Big spending Arsenal then

Agree0 Disagree0

I think with this team and those additions we could realistically challenge for the title. The only concern I have is with Williams, i'd rather get a young, talented CB to be fourth choice, rather than someone who has to be played now. in all honesty I think we could consider playing Miquel in place of Djourou. Soldado would be a fantastic boost for the squad, and although I haven't seen much of Kondogbia, and would probably prefer Gonalons, apparently he is a brilliant player
EF

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly, I wouldn't. I think with those signings we'd be no closer really to winning the epl. We need real investment if we're going to really challenge.

Chimney sweet Josh

Agree0 Disagree0

I seriously do not understand how people can say that we cannot challenge for anything with the players we have and with new additions. I think we have very good players and a good team and if we play the way we played the last 10 PL games we will have a chance. I also agree to the point that if we need to challenge on different fronts we will need these additions. But how do we define a title winning squad I do not understand, I think it all depends on how we play as a team. Only the terrible start at the start affected us last season and I am sure it will not be the case this season.
Look at united's squad on paper, I think we have a team that matches player to player except for the strikers where they may have a slight edge and everyone very well knows why!
If we have some good additions for the depth, need not be world class then as I have said earlier also, it will be between Chelsea and us for the title next season.
Keep calm and COYG!

SM

Agree0 Disagree0

The reason we turned things around at the end of the season is because we were focused on one competition only! Being in three cup competitions and the league is too much for our squad. It's not just 3 or 4 players we need. When we had the invincibles most the players on the bench could get in our current first team! Wake up. People said the same crap before this season started. And what happened, fighting for fourth place again! And we only achieved that by the skin of our teeth. We need major investment. Anyone that can't see that us deluded and will pipe up with the same guff at the end of next season when we play well for the last 10 games because we've been knocked out of every other competition!

We need a good keeper. No matter what anyone says Merts isn't brilliant. He's a good CB but shouldn't be first choice. We need a strong midfielder as currently they're all small and light weight, we need another winger as far as I'm concerned, or an attacking midfielder and use cazorla on the wing where he played for Malaga, and we need a top quality striker. Oh and another right back when Sagna goes. Jenks can't do it all by himself. We're not going to sign that many players, and it's not a great idea to sign that many at once anyway. Fact is we have to start rebuilding, and there is no way we'll win the league next season. We need to invest in players, then do the same next year, and hopefully then we'll start challenging again. Most of you don't agree, but that's because most of you are looking through your official arsenal glasses.

Anyone bored of these constant summer rumours. We have been here too many times before we will go until mid August and then buy two average players the big spending teams don't want and then end up battling Spurs for 4th place! Come on starting thinking like winners again and buy some stars. I am fed up keep watching the 2003/4 premier years on tv for some good memories!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Average players like cazorla? Please don't let us sign another player that's capped for Spain 50+ times and is one of the best midfielders in the prem! If only we could sign class players like Heskey.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair he has a point. Cazorla is a good player, but if we were actually signing top quality players consistently then we'd be challenging for trophies.

I still believe Chez can be a great keeper, I do see and fully support the idea of a top class elder keeper to push him and show him. Yes Cesar has been great at QPR and Inter, what's his English like though last thing our defence needs is more miscommunication at times. Proper coaching and a set back four who train together in front of keeper so he knows the best way to move his defence and how they will react during a game. No point signing any keeper unless they train with a set back four regularly. We must be one cohesive unit like in the 90's and early 00's.

I looked on Arsenal.com didn't see any confirmation about Denilson but glad it's happened. Like I said in earlier I hope we can agree a few more of these deals with the obvious players

Holmesy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

His English isn't that bad. Saw him interviewed before the England game and only asked his interpreter once.

Agree0 Disagree0

Denilson probably won't be announced on Arsenal.com until he has agreed a move somewhere else, the story would be sold as that rather than mutual termination.

Just read an interview on Arsenal.com with Eduardo what a shame about his injury he could have become a legend at our club his goal scoring record when we signed him was unreal. If he hadn't got injured I think he would have banged in 20+ a year. That standing ovation he got when he scored against us said it all about the man and our club big respect. Delighted he is still playing at the top.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He was good for us initially but his goal scoring record was never great. He got 9 league goals out of 46 games.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Eduardo hadn't got his leg broken I strongly believe we would've won the title.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not being funny Connor but the lad broke his fibia or one of them bones and dislocated his ankle he never really recovered from that injury which was the shame

Agree0 Disagree0

More Myth than legend, don't think he would have ever been that special tbh. people like to say that.
Bendtner showed promise at one stage and imagine if he had a bad injury we would all be saying 'he could have been the next Alan Smith' whereas infact he was always destined to be the next Christopher Wreh.

Wtf Eduardo was becoming a good finisher for us and we would of won the title with him

Jean-Marie Abeels developed forward Victor Wanyama, 21, of JMJ youth academy outside Nairobi.

Now Abeels reveals that interest in Wanyama remains.

- Victor's father Noah calls me almost every week and he said that Arsenal's interest is great. Wenger (Arsene, coaches) talked with Celtic about a month ago and Victor's dad and mom says he would prefer a move to Arsenal, says Abeels to the Daily Mail.

Rooney - Will not Happen.
Fabregas - Will not Happen.

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but we do not have the caliber to afford their wages regardless of what the press say. {Ed027's Note -Rooney totally agree, but are you forgetting we once owned Cesc? He took a wage cut to join Barca

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I still don't think he will leave Barca, He's the next in line to the CM position of Xavi

Agree0 Disagree0

I think there's a good chance Cesc stays in Barca this year, but I really do believe that with Neymar Fabregas will be pushed down the totem even further.

Wages would not be a deciding factor for Cesc's return (although I'm sure we have the wherewithal to offer him an attractive package).

He would return because he loves the club and because we are putting together a VERY strong team.

just a wonder, jovetic worth 25mil, according to some papers gomez from bayern worth less. I think he is better choice by far {Ed027's Note - The whole point of a new striker is too give us something different than Giroud

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Completely agree with the ed, Gomez is Giroud's German brother.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gomez to Napoli.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is a fact, mourinho improves defenders, fergie improves midfielders and wenger improves strikers. Right now he is'nt up to gomez's standard but he's young and I think will give a real lift to the squad. would be great with chambo behind him walcott on the right and someone like sanchez on the left, great pace and finishing with his passing match made in heaven. You know, I'm a kind and humble guy who often takes the moral high ground and avoids unnecessary confrontation.

So I must apologize to the unnamed poster who suggested we sell jack now. Yes, I strongly disagree with that opinion but I should not have told you that you are not a gooner due to your opinion. No hard feelings mate.

On the other hand, last week another unnamed poster slammed me for suggesting that I would not take Luis Saurez if I was manager due to his troublesome personality and off the field distractions. I suggested that he would cause problems in the locker room.

Well the mystery poster slammed me for my opinion, sarcastically calling me a sports psychologist and stated that suarez is loved at liverpool and fans love him because he scores goals and that there is no personality problem.

Two days later he states he wants to leave liverpool.

Thanks for proving my point for me bro, we don't need players like him on our team and even though he has talent to give away, he's a racist cheat.

Peace,

I've said for many months that Julio Cesar will come to Arsenal,
He's a world class keeper who can teach Schzezny a lot for when he will take over in 2-3 years.
Would be a world class signing

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He's very goood, I guess it will be like the Thibaut Courtois situation at CFC. Though, I think Szczęsny will suffer if he does not get a clear run in the team. Competition is always healthy I guess.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't know Bromley, Szcz had a clear run for a season and was promising. Then he got injured and Mannone was good.
Then Szcz came back and he was terrible.
Then he got dropped and Fabianski was good.
Then Szcz came back and still wasn't great, or as good as Fab had been, but was ok.
I for one do not feel confident with Szcz in goal.

So far, its bye-bye: Arshavin, Squillaci, Fabianski and now Denilson. Just need Chamakh, Bendtner, Djourou, Santos and Park to follow suit.

Who I want to sign: Cesar, Williams, Wanyama, Fabregas, Higuain.
Who we will actually sign: Cesar, Williams, Gonalons, Grenier, Jovetic, Sanogo.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Who I want to sign: Cesar, Williams, Wanyama, Fabregas, Higuain.

cb-hummels and draxler are being looked at.

dm-ignacio camacho is seriously being looked at as a cheaper option to wanyama

there is interest in soldado as an alternative to jevotic, there is a huge gap in valuation.

cesc has told wenger he wants to come home, this could be on loan.

there will be a marquee signing up front.
it is suppose to blow us away.

thats what I have been told is the main plan, things go wrong in transfers, judge me on this at the end of the window.

I doubt any of the four players listed will leave, I'm sure everyone will also pick u up on the fact draxler isn't a defender, sure you know that just a silly mistake? Amid all the potential signings and ballyhoo, one positive bit of news at last.
Arsenal and Denilson agree to terminate contract by mutual consent.
Now if Arsenal are prepared to take such a financial hit, can they not do similar deals for Chamakh, Park, and Santos and free up wages and squad spaces for next season. Any fee we might have received for any of these would have been minimal.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Because the players also have to agree & if they are on good wages, they are not going to give them up. In Denilson's case, I believe he only has one year left & probably has a deal lined up in Brazil.

This is the first time I have been on this site and as a 47 year old male from London, Who lives in Rep. of ireland. And a lifelong gooner, I just want to say a few words on the wayne Rooney Rumour. They are all saying we can't afford to match Wayne Rooneys wages, Its not About money with Rooney. He just feels he is not loved at Man. U. and wants a move. If Rooney leaves Man. U. Arsenal would be the perfect fit. For a start he would be captain and along with Wilshere would be the Falcrum of the team, and I believe it would give him more satisfaction leading Arsenal to atrophy than Man. U. Their is a lot more of this story to come out but don't be surprised if Rooney signs for Arsenal in the transfer of the summer.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

The Wayne Rooney rumours is down to one thing. His agent a Certain Paul Stratford. This man has got Wayne's father on the payroll. Hence the only way Stratford or Rooneys father get any money is if he moves club or signs a new contract. Fact. It was only two years ago that Rooney signed a contract that made him the highest paid player in the EPL. Somewhere between 225k- 250k per week. Wenger should stop playing mind games with the Arsenal supporters. There is no way Arsenal will pay those wages plus Agents fees on top of a 25-40m transfer fee. Let him go PSG and pay 75% tax. Plus I think living near the bright lights of London would be a dangerous thing for a young man with a past history. Also there can be no excuses regarding lack of money being made available. Last years figures stated a surplus of 122m in cash sitting in the bank. on top of that Two new sponsership contract, one this coming season one the next. lots more EPL money and a champ league qualifier away from a lot more. Stop playing games Arsene and get some quality not cast offs. km

Agree0 Disagree0

LOL Rooney leading the whole team to atrophy? Rooney should leave his fitness problems at home. The last thing Arsenal need is to get worse.

Afternoon everyone

been reading this site for ages with an occasional post and have to say it is top drawer.

Interesting to see the names of players banded around as transfer targets.

I would like to see a player coming in, regardless of position, with passion and pride to wear the red and white shirt, not because he is on a decent earner. The likes of Adams, Henry, Viera, Mclintock, George and Wilson to name a few all had passion AND IT IS INFECTIOUS.

But I had the sensation you kind of insisted about that subject and it made me feel unconfortable as the Wilshere case is a sensitive one for me. Let me be clear, you might be right about him being injury prone, but I rate him so much that I think he's worth the gamble. I know how hard it is to support that kind of player as I am an admirer of Diaby. But still I want to stick with our players. I may be too romantic as I'm french ^^'. I am aware that physical condition is key to consistency and stability for the whole team, americans understand that really well, but as long as there's a chance for him to shine under arsenal's colours, I'll support him, and I'll suffer from anyone considering him as a waste. Well that's all I had to say sorry, if I've been rude to you and keep on expressing yourself or we'll all die from boredom.

If the rumours of a DM are true (whether it be wanyama, bender, etc) and we are in for Grenier, it would make good sense to send players the other way.

Currently, we have quite a few LWs and an extra Dm in Coquelin (who is looking for playing time). I think Gervinho and Coquilen the other way could convince Garde to let Grenier go.

One of the eds said earlier that Spanish clubs are in some financial trouble and are more inclined to sell than usual (apart from the big two).

Why can't we use this to our advantage? La liga has a lot of quality players,

Soldado - goal machine
Isco - might want to join Santi and Nacho.
Muniain - great winger
Pereira - pacey RB
Rami - for those of you who don't think our CB's are good enough
Turan - quality creative mid
Adrian Lopez - decent back up
Joaquim - another good winger

Just a few off the top of my head,

Nick.

I agree with most of those, especially Turan and Rami. Joaquim the Malaga winger? Isn't he a bit past it, no better than what we already have tbh.

I fully expect Rami to end up at Monaco.

Isco to Real Madrid.

Turan/Adrian - not moving.

Joaquin - great player (past his peak) and still a big injury risk.

I've never liked rooney at united tbh, except in his early years, but if he was to come to arsenal him oxo and theo would rip the premier league apart.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think Rooney is one of the premier league players I like the least. That said, I love every arsenal player and if he were to join arsenal I think I would get to love him too.

Him and oxo would be different gravy!

hi gooners. I want to give my take on the fabregas situation. I do not think he would move to another club if he is to leave barcelona apart from arsenal for the simple reason that it will be a loss if barcelona sold him to another club. remember the 50% share arsenal will get if they sell him to another club

Believable0 Unbelievable0

YOu know its 50% on any profit right? THat means we only get a share on a price that exceeds the 30m paid for him.

Agree0 Disagree0

It looks like it's 50% above what we sold him for!

Denilson's contract has been terminated.

One down.

Perfectly put Metal
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

It's strange that we have been unable to sell him, he was a perfectly decent premier league player, only lost his place due to the emergence of Wilshere.

He's the third one gone, not inc' youngsters. Arshavin/Squillaci also gone as their contracts have expired.

I agree, can't understand why we weren't able to shift him. You telling me Reading for example couldn't have afforded him? Or Southampton? Admittedly Shneiderlin is WAY better but what I am saying is that Denilson isn't terrible, it's just been known for years there is no future for him at AFC- how we couldn't shift him is strange. I assume it had something to do with wages and him refusing to leave. {Ed027's Note - Wages

The main rumours circulating around the camp are as follows;

Danny Crowley - from villa young gun will play in the lower age groups for years before breaking through

Yaya Sanogo - I reckon he'll make a few cameo appearances from the bench in he first team

Julio Cesar - well the betting has been suspended in bookies which only suggests to me a deal may possibly have been done

Jovetic - 50/50 it's rife that Juventus are going to get him but I think the chances of us getting him outweigh our chances of David villa or higuain, so maybe.

Victor Wanyama - last time an arsenal player started to talk about another player coming in. It happened. I think wanyama will be an arsenal player certainly by the end of the month and would be a great replacement for Alex song.

Clement Grenier - rumours are rife that he's coming he's been quoted saying he wants in because of wenger so yeah I reckon a deal is imminent.

Ashley Williams - expected to leave Swansea but rumours seem to have died down.

More to follow.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry but who was talking about Wanyama from the squad

Agree0 Disagree0

Pleased with the Crowley signing - although many Villa fans are now giving it large that Villa is the best youth team going and if the guy wants out / Villa are prepared to sell, it's because he's not good enough! I hope that's just tough talk, he looks amazing.

Cesar seems pretty likely doesn't it, and it makes sense if you're Wenger and you won't let go of the idea that Szcz WILL be first class and choice again. IMO I'd prefer if we went all out, picked up someone like Mignolet and just moved on, ffff Szczesny, if he makes it then great, if not, who cares. In 7 seasons or so we can buy another great keeper.

Tbh this whole Jovetic thing is winding me up no end. He looks like a £15m MAX player, he's not 18 or 19, he's 23 now. As I said somewhere else he's about as good as Ruiz. He's not a natural threat on goal, he's more an attacking mid who gets forward, and actually Ruiz has a way better record than him anyway. As someone else said, a lot of what he does is pointless 'skill', just overblown football. And, from the games I've seen, he really doesn't speed play up. This whole Jovetic thing is winding me so much! I hope Juve announce it so we can just move on.

Would love Wanyama to come. Some people are saying Gonalons is the better choice because of his stats etc and that he's done well in the French league, but I'm not sure who would choose him over the beast Wanyama - he's clearly got what it takes, which is why the biggest clubs are looking at him.

I still think Williams is nailed on. As for Grenier, a week ago I would have ignored the rumours but the media really is giving it a go, so who knows?

Agree0 Disagree0

Dave6 - Ramsey is currently licking his chops at the prospect and I don't blame him, means he can play in his preferred position is big Vic comes.

Just wondering, with the talk of young guys like Grenier, Gonalons and Garcia, which of our homegrown talent should we expect to see in the first team next season?

David Villa is on 8m euros a year and barca still owe Valencia 10m euros from the 40m euro transfer. He will be 32 in December. Needs to play in his favoured position up front and not out wide. this is due to the fact Messi plays there. He has also had some bad injurys. km

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He has had ONE bad injury. A tibia fracture in 2011/2012.

TO STONER. Aaah sorry mate did I spell Jack Wilsheres name wrong? I'm really sorry. What is up with people like you? Are your opinions the only ones that count? Listen mate I will repeat myself again for you I think Jack is a blinding player I am just making an obvious observation there is no need for you to swear at people on here mate. By the way have you got your season ticket this year? I've had mine since 1976 it's gone up again to £2750 just for my one never mind I and my kids still love going. Good name that STONER. Do you work in a masonry yard or is that your recreational name dopey?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Eddie everybody heard your opinion and understood your point but most of us including me think it is laughable because we can afford to take that risk with such a commited talented and loyal player. If YOU can't understand that then what's the point arguing? You can't blame stoner for swearing after you insisted so much with your nonsense theory about wilshere. Give it up mate, and if the next seasons prove you right then you can congratulate yourself about that but even at that moment you. ll be alone cause sane people would only feel sorry for Wilshere. Wilshere is arsenal through and through, and for that reason i'd back him before most. including you btw

Probably something personal with wilshere. no Arsenal fan would not want him playing for Arsenal.

but you are free to your opinion, its just that I don't see many who share your view on that side of the fence, it definitely is not a majority, but hey nice post anyway.
