So wojciech has been caught smoking again.. Sad to say, but this is surely the end of his arsenal career.

Wasn't aware it was illegal yet! Against company policy deffinately not on works time goes without saying but while on holiday? Think he'd have case for an industrial tribunal there.

As long as it wasn't a joint who cares

Smoking isn't illegal and it's off season. Shouldn't matter unless there is a specific performance clause in his contract. Seem to remember a lot of players pictured smoking away from the pitch. Hasn't hurt Berbatov's performance or reputation, for example. That said, anything more than occasional smoking of any substance is a pretty bad idea for you long term health - carcinogenic to pull burnt crunchy bits into yor lungs on a long term basis.

{Ed025's Note - just gone up in my estimation.. :)

I smoked a cigar last weekend, didn't stop me running 10k in 45 mins the next morning, what's a fag compared to that?

{Ed001's Note - We have posted a new article entitled, Physical Power or Passing Prowess.

Very good article.

Have to agree, Paul Scholes is possibly/probably the best English midfield player ever.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 22:40:58
My fav ever player I have seen dags, I put him above ronaldo, giggs etc.

Ronaldo was excellent but Paul was my fav :)

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - very decent CTR but dont ever class him with ronaldo mate, not far behind gerrard and lampard though..

03 Jun 2015 23:03:17
Erm ...... Romford Pele

04 Jun 2015 00:56:18
Best English midfielder! couldn't tackle, couldn't head, one footed and had a headcase as a minder. Gascoigne for me, flawed, but a genius.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 06:29:55
Spot on Steve, never can see this love in with someone whose only attribute was pretty much his ability to pass the ball.

Plenty of midfielders way ahead of him, even Glen Hoddle let alone Gascoigne.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Jun 2015 11:11:40
id give scholes a better rating than lampard and gerrard in terms of passing ability, vision, and ability to switch play.I rate giggs as a better midfield player to scholes.

The others were better rounded players, goal scoring, tackles, heading ability.

but if we we are talking about the best midfielders in the past 20-30 odd years, i can't look much further than Zidane, Figo, Xavi and Iniesta, on an entirely different planet to the english legends.

03 Jun 2015 23:29:56
Wash your mouth out ed25!! Scholes was head and shoulders above those to imo.

I wasn't comparison to ronaldo was more because Scholes was at United for many years hence why he is a more thought of me than Ronnie.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - as i said chris..good player, not very quick and very rash in a challenge..but good..

03 Jun 2015 14:55:41
Fat spanish waiter demanding real madrid bring koscielny in.
I know its usually the case, super club i.e madrid/barca come calling, heads get turned but i find it so presumptious that they expect players to just come.
Kos is truly becoming 'world class'
Losing him would not be good buisness imo. We have the basis of a great team and are 2-3 signings from be able to actually compete on allfronts. Losing him even if it is in the 35-50 million pound region would be like us taking 1 step forward and 2 steps back!
Hope its just silly season paper talk but who knows!
What do people think? Eds, do you have any info or just what you've seen in tabloids? Cheers

Maybe I missing something here, but I don't think a direct insult was necesary.
He assumed something about you (even when he said "eds", no "ed02"), awful habit, I agree.. But to call him "idiot"?... over the line IMO.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - he suggested that the info came from tabloids, so he was being an idiot, whether he was directing it at any particular one of us or not.}

04 Jun 2015 17:52:49
You'd have to type out the word 'idiot' a lot of times on this website if you plan to call someone an idiot everytime they're being an idiot

{Ed001's Note - ctrl + v sorts that out....}

I think we have a few too many players in our squad that are very good players but not quite good enough to be really challenging. Wenger needs to be ruthless and ditch the odd squad player and upgrade them.

i.e

I think there is only room for Szczensny or Ospina (Cech?)

Mert possibly needs replacing but this is lower priority.

I think Arteta/Flamini needs upgrading (Schneiderlin - also what happened to Lars Bender?)

I think one of Giroud/Wellbeck/Walcott (probably Wellbeck) needs replacing (Benzema, Higuian etc..)

Also have players like Campbell, Podolski that can be sold.

All players I like but really needs to be ruthless and upgrade a few I think.

2013: Real sign Bale, allowing us to sign Ozil

2014: Barca sign Suarez, allowing us to sign Alexis

2015: Real sign Aguero, allowing us to sign Benzema

Imagine... We can all dream.

Hi guys, greetings from India. Good solid season, finishing on a high. I just wanna say that i don't know it is my optimism or what but it almost seems like Wenger is trying to build the invincibles again, not exactly but atleast role-wise, where he sees Adams in Mert (slow, great in the air, good leader, plays the offside trap and always has his hand raised :D ), same kind of playing style and fluidity in the team obviously and he wants ozil to go on and become like Bergkamp, even Dennis didn't have the best of first season and was in his best of days when he came from Inter at 7.5 mil, he was our first world class player of that team, he played a similar role as to what ozil plays now and i think we do miss a TH14 (as hard it is to find a replacement) and a Seamen or probably Lehman. I also think with wenger deperate to win and re create that magic he will go on to buy a first choice keeper in cech probably (or marquee signing) and cover for coq (our police officer), and someone as good if not better than olly welbs and theo to give us a different dimension (Jackson Martinez), This would be more than enough in my opinion to complete what i think is the last piece of this jigsaw.
Its very easy to be so optimistic but I really believe this team has it, the kind of unity, the kind of fluidity our attack has, the kind of balance and assurity we've had since Le Coq joined. Also having Bellerin who I really believe is going to become the best RB in the league in the coming seasons.
Also, I'd like to congratulate all the eds for putting in so much hardwork, you guys have turned me into an addict of this website, the dags joke keep me away sometimes though, Hahaha. Looking forward for the next season, OUR SEASON

{Ed001's Note - the Dags jokes are why you got relegated to only being looked after by Ed025 ;o)

03 Jun 2015 14:54:52
Jackson Martinez won't be an improvement on Giroud, not a significant one anyway. Always a risk taking players from inferior leagues.

Would much prefer Lacazette, Higuan, Benzema or Cavani. Not sure on the availabilty of any of them but they are all excellent strikers and are atleast 10% likely..

03 Jun 2015 15:29:29
Next year will be our year HAHA!

Plz more of these :)

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Jun 2015 18:25:25
Apart from Benzema in la liga all the other leagues are arguably inferior to EPL. Our league is very physical and demanding and its a risk buying any of them. Goals or creating them has not been our problem! Yes there are attacking options that would be an upgrade but there are more pressing areas that need steadying up. If we got a good keeper and a good DMF (as good as le coq has been) and possibly a better left back (Ricardo Rodriquez please) then not getting a striker would not be the end of the world

I find it funny now that we've won the FA cup, it's a mediocre trophy to win in other clubs fans eyes .

Jealous? I think so!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jun 2015 08:06:42
Which fans? Can't be the chelsea fans because they celebrated winning the Carling cup, can't be the spuds because they creid when they didn't win the Carling cup.
Only two premier league sides won trophies last season one of which was us.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 13:30:16
it does not matter what other fans think, every trophy matters. that's what the game is played for.

ive seen johnstons paint trophy celebrated like a world cup, does not devalue the accomplishment.

when my 5 a side league team wins a trophy, we are over the moon, best of the buch has a zinger to it. albeit its been 4 years since we did win it.

I'm really hoping the striker we go for ends up to be Lacazette. Reminds me of the likes of pre-injury Eduardo, Aguero and at times Robbie Fowler. He has pace, power, strength, and looks like one of the best natural and instinctive finishers around today. Really looks like the guy we need to get us 20 plus goals in the league.

Would be slightly worried by his lack of height which would make me prefer a move for a Martinez or a Benzema, but since we already have that in Giroud, what would be the logic in forking out for a player of the same mould?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Jun 2015 06:34:35
Eduardo is an awesome striker. If not for that tackle he would have had a wonderful career with Arsenal. And yeah, I would like a player of his mould, rather than somebody similar to Giroud. Would never happen, but just for banter, Aguero for Wilshere, anyone?

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 12:58:15
I would bit City's hand off for that. Jack's been great since coming back and loves this club to pieces, but Aguero is... Aguero, second to Suarez i'd say he's the best out and out centre forward in world football.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 13:33:35
It does not matter who is second best, after messi the gap is soo huge its impossible to care :)

gary linekar said it best, the majesty of messi can only be comprehended when he makes players of suarez calibre look average.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Jun 2015 18:58:53
Aguero for Jack :-) that's a total no brainer but sadly also a no hoper.
Jack for Kompany? I'd take that, wasn't at his best last season but him and Kos together with Le Coq in front of them and Cech behind them leaving our other 7 to concentrate on getting the goals and chelsea could start wrapping our premier league trophy immediately

03 Jun 2015 19:06:58
The barcelona team was built around Messi, the Liverpool team was built around Suarez. I do think Messi is better, but I think your comment is unfair.
