The obvious .
When I first saw Iwobi a few years ago I thought he was going to be a decent player.
Now I believe he is a very mediocre player sell him or loan him out I wouldn't mind either.
Ramsey complete waste of time and money surely he's got to go and take Wilshire with him. Ozil, well I don't know what to think about him lately. Has he gone off the boil as people say? To me he is in a coma! . I sit on the fence here. But if he had started off as he is playing now I would of sold him within a month.
Gibbs I believe is worth keeping along with Monreal. Mert I would let go. Holding why did we ever buy him? .
I see Arsenal as a bit of a mish mash lately.
It's all a bit confusing in the squad.
What is our strongest side? Have we actually got one anymore? .
I fear we are going to have to go through a transition at some point where we are going to end up a mid table side until we find our feet again or somebody wakes up and smells the coffee.

I can't say I agree with many of your points. However, I believe that the players you mention could do with a new manager who would work them harder. Take Mourinho at Man U, he is sorting out the players that won't die for the cause and United have won the League Cup, are in contention for a top four place and are still in the FA Cup. In the summer he will ship out players such as Rooney, Shaw, etc, that are no longer in his plans. I agree with you that Mertesacker shouldn't have had his contract extended. I also have reservations about Ozil, in terms of consistency and his ability to withstand the rigours of the Premier League. Holding and Iwobi are tremendous young talents. Holding is only 21, very young for a centre back, as they rarely mature until about 23 or 24 years of age. Iwobi at 20 is a gifted player, but needs to learn to work harder and his defensive side of his game needs major attention. I don't believe either left back is good enough, Monreal has always been exposed pace-wise and Gibbs was never truly transformed from a midfield player into a left back, as the defensive side of his game in't great. Ramsey looks superb for Wales, yet at Arsenal he is often played out of his natural position, wide right. As for Wilshere, the injuries have clearly taken there toll on a gifted young player and I would reluctantly sell him. I believe one of our main problems has been fitting players into the current 4-2-3-1 formation, whilst using wide attacking players that are incapable of covering our full backs, except when Sanchez plays wide as he covers his full back with his amazing work rate, which our other players should try and emulate. You mention the top starting side, well that's one of our strong points that we do have cover in all positions that isn't too different in ability to the players they replace; Cech or Ospina? Monreal or Gibbs? Xhakka, Elneny or Coquelin? Lots of options, but we could probably do with a top keeper and a pair of LB's for next season. I would do everything to keep Sanchez at the club, but would consider selling Ozil and replacing him with a top quality player.

Holding looks a very decent player in the making.

@RG61 Some spot on comments from you. I agree on all fronts, I'm not a WOB but I do think the time has come for a change and that certain players would flourish under a new manager. Ramsay being one who if he were played in position would do very well. Sell Ozil and play Ramsay at 10? If it gets us money to keep Sanchez then why not!

@Lanesra Arsenal will have no transitional period. Despite your comments we have the best squad in the league, pundits and rival managers have all acknowledged this. We simply have to many injuries, tactical faux pas or mentality issues. A change of manager would never see Arsenal become mid-table. It's a strange situation, Wenger has created such a solid base that the club will always be strong. He's also just not the man to take it beyond a 4th place finish.

Firstly I'd let any player who wants out go Mesut and Sanchez would obviously come in to that group, then I'd ask the rest if they were happy at Arsenal? Those who said yes I'd let go as well.
I would only be interested in keeping players who were absolutely gutted at how things are at Arsenal and were desperate to stay as long as we do things differently.
