A player scores two goals in the same game without any other player touching the ball in between and they both count! How is this possible?
Scores with last kick of the game in extra time and takes it into a shoot out and scores the first penalty
A goal with the last kick of the first half followed by a lung busting run from the kick off to score a solo goal to start the second half.
Close lads but its in normal time and to go on a solo run and score another player would have to take the kick off with him, but your both not far off
I don't think Greeny is right because a player can't score from a re-start without a team-mate passing him the ball.
I believe Col68 is right, well done mate.
Score with last kick of the game
Second half same player scores straight from kick off as kick off is a direct free kick
SY4
G62, i'm stumped mate
After an own goal the player scores direct from kick off. Half time whistle blows. Then player scores direct from kick off for second half again
A player can't score directly from kick-off, he has to have the ball passed to him.
{Ed002's Note - The rules changed a few years back man. He or she can.}
I will give the answer in the morning lads as a bit too tall to explain tonight HIC silly laugh
Aah thanks Ed002, I didn't know that. Thank you
{Ed002's Note - So pay attention at the start tomorrow.}
He has to retake the penalty?
The striker scores with the very last kick of the 1st half, he then kicks off the 2nd half with a long punt down the Field for the winger to run onto, just before the winger reaches the ball he is brought down inside the box winning a penalty which the striker takes and scores.
Like DG I had no idea of the rule change about kick off, sorry for any confusion people, but obviously the question was in old money anyway as I haven't gone decimal yet
Ed002 I didn't know that either! So it turns out Greeny's Answer was correct in the modern game, apologies Greeny mate.
For those like me and Dags who still operate in old money the answer is.
The striker scores with the very last kick of the 1st half and then kicks off the 2nd half with a long punt into the opposition half which the winger chases, but just as the winger is about to reach the ball in the penalty area the full back brings him down conceding a penalty which the striker takes and scores
{Ed002's Note - I think the answer being looked for is last kick of the first half and kick off for the second half.
Against it, I am not so sure that the team conceding the goal would not restart the match and then the whistle would blow.
My point was simply to clarify that a player can now score directly from the kick off.}
Good question G62 and thanks for the info 002, I honestly didn't know that.

Gunner 62 this is for you!
Q: Who are the only two players to win Full England caps with five different Premier League clubs each?
Off the top of my head Greeny, Scott Parker and David James? Doubt them but will put me thinking cap on and see who I can think of
Peter crouch? Is he one?
Pretty certain I remember David platt doing it when he was at Arsenal.
Not sure of other one though but its not recent, i'm thinking mark hateley or peter Shilton or somebody like that, possibly Shilton.
Greeny now is not the time to go all quite on us mate :-) have we got any right yet?
DG think players who moved a lot within the PL but stayed in or around the England sqaud mate
Yep G62, pretty certain David Platt is one
Platt played abroad during his England career
James and Parker seem right
Scott Parker is one.
Guesses on the other?
David James and David Platt are also correct.
Too good.

Champions League football (qualifiers at least!) has been assured.
Let's now plan for the FA CUP where we MUST WIN. No excuses. We need to get transfers in the pipeline for next season and really go into next season prepared to mount a challenge on ALL FRONTS!
Agree mate
Agreement from me also matey, Wenger needs to be picking his phone up ASAP
03 May 2014 19:09:11
What footballer has scored goals in top flight football in the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's?
Roy Race
Damn you G62, lol
I was saving him for tomorrow DG where the question was going to be who scored a hattrick in a FA cup final and then went in goal and saved a penalty :-)
Roy Race? lol
03 May 2014 19:02:01
Following on from G62's FA Cup question, here's another one for you.
Which team won the FA Cup and never scored a goal?
Everton and Billy Never scored a goal, sorry DG couldn't resist
Damn you again G62, lol.
Well done mate.

With all these players that we have been linked with in attacking midfield positions, draxler, gotze, griezman etc, all costing over £25 million I think Ross Barkley would be a better option, he would cost the same amount, has premier league experience, he is English and can play anywhere in midfield including holding midfield to replace Arteta. We all know that Everton cannot say no to that sort of money. Very impressed with him this season and in this man city match in particular. Just a thought
Not a better option than Draxler.
Can't believe no one has mentioned Lallana as a possible option. he's been on fire this year, has premiership experience and offers pace and drive in the AM role which is very different to most our other AMs like cazorla. would certainly tick the plan b box.
04 May 2014 05:08:12
everton don't need to sell him and wont
03 May 2014 17:49:57
Everton 1 up, could really do with us not needing a thing tomorrow
03 May 2014 17:07:40
Eds/posters - here is a thought. At 5mln should we just trigger the vela clause and bring him back?
His performance this year were comparable to griezmann and he wouldn't cost 30mln (assuming the PSG deal isn't done).
Thoughts?
Was thinking about that this morning. Why not? He's a steal for that price. He would bring great depth for next to nothing.
I would LOVE Vela back.
I never wanted him to leave.
He's fast, a top notch finisher, intelligent.
Right now he'd suit Özil down to a tee, instead of aiming at Giroud who, though he tries, has the mobility of a tree.
Vela's played on the right win for sociedad a lot this season, Greizemann left and Aggrietexe (shameful spelling, sorry!) so hasn't really play as an out and out forward, but he'd still suit the role.
Here's the issue (putting on the downer cap again)
Sociedad are having financial issues, so we could see the likes of Inigo Martinez, Ruben Pardo, Antoinne Griezmann and Carlos Vela, the gems of the team, sold on to help their situation.
Focusing on Vela, IF, he leaves, I can't see him being short on offers.
we have this clause, vela himself said it, but in reality, it doesn't mean we can just buy him, all it means (unless your Liverpool on Luis Suarez.I'm not bitter) the club have to accept our bid.
Then we have to agree terms, with the player, his agent, and all the paperwork I have no idea about at all.
So if he's faced with us offering him one fee and competing with Giroud, or someone like. I don't know, say Inter, offering him similar or more and promising he'll start often, there's more chance he'll pick the other.
Plus, as mentioned in a post below (sorry, forgot who it was! Shout out to you though Sir/Madam) that Sociedad would obviously prefer market value to our tiny clause, so a few words in Vela's ear may sway him.
However, I've pretty much over complicated your simple and very valid question.
So yeah man, I'd love Carlos back!
Peace.

Anyone read Wengers comments in the press today?
Simply, if we want to move forward, the man must go.
03 May 2014 17:51:09
If the 2 or 3 players he thinks we need are Lescott, Rio Ferdinand and Tom Cleverley then I agree.
If however they're Bender or Carvalho, Garay or Lovren and Benzema or Draxler then I'm not agreeing with you.
In fact Draxler and Bender I'm happy.
Agree with Jen,
Personally I think we only need 2 or 3 players to make a big difference, so I understand what Wenger was saying.
We don't need a major overhaul, just a few parts to get the car up and running again.
I saw them, and it did worry me a bit, but then it got me thinking.
What warrants a 'star'?
Wengers basically said that fans shouldn't expect masses of star signings and that this season is more about stability, with only 2-3 players coming in and nobody leaving without his say so.
My first concern is, Sagna and Fabianski are leaving (unfortunately).
We'll need to replace both.
Jenko isn't ready to be our starting RB and I'm unconvinced he ever will be.
And our young keepers, Illiev, Martinez, are all a bit raw.
So these 2-3 coming in, does it include the replacement of those 2?
Because if it does, that'd be diabolical.
But, as I said, what constitutes a star?
Lars bender is the player linked with is most right now (we're the arsenal, we'll be linked with 48272972927 players before the window even opens)
Is bender a 'star'?
In Germany, I guess so.
To Leverkussen, certainly.
In the grand scheme, not really.
But maybe I'm over thinking it.
If we replace Sagna and Fabianski (I'm betting on both to leave, so either way I'm not let down!) and then buy 2-3 players.
I'm fine with that.
Let's play the name game, my ideal signings with 'realism' would be
Bender
Griezman
Martinez
I feel we need a strong, defensive mid.
I feel we need a direct, quick, attacking Winger.
And I feel we need a powerful, mobile, Centre forward.
And as replacements,
Aurier
And a GK.
Are any of those 'stars'?
No.
Would they improve the squad?
Hell yes!
It all depends on Wengers concept of stars.
But more than that, just don't trust Wenger mate.
Just don't, not when it's down to transfers.
I'd never play poker with the man because you'd lose a fortune.
I spent the entire of last window, convinced we were going to sign Higuain till he went to Napoli, then Gustavo till he went to Wolfsburg.
Know when I knew we were even interested in Özil?
About 4 hours before the window closed as I was on the train home and my mate text me telling me to put ssn on.
I pray to god, that Wenger steps up and delivers the window we need.
I'm hoping we can win the FA cup and give him a reminder of what it's like to win things again.
I don't think Wenger should go this year.
Maybe next.
Ideally I don't want us to make utd's mistake.
Moyes was a victim of circumstance.
He took a BIG job, that had been ruled by one man under one system for years.
And suffered for it.
When Wenger wants out I'd like his assistant to be understudy to him for a season, if possible.
If he gets booted though, just get someone with pedigree for christ sake.
But he won't, because he makes Stan $$$
You're happy with no striker?!
Fabiasnki, Viviano, Vermaelen, Sagna, Arteta, Podolski, Bendtner are all leaving. They will need replaced whilst the gaps that we already have need filled as well.
Arsene signed 8 players in the year he won his first PL title. Take off the red-tinted specs and look at the bigger picture.
Arsene has lost it and we won't move forward till he goes.
Rio in an Arsenal shirt Jenny! Yuk! I'm off to dig myself up a huge plate full of worms smother them in out of date Marmite and eat them while listening to Steve McLaren tapes where he explains how he should be England next manager for an hour see if I can get that thought out of my head, yuk yuk triple yuk
03 May 2014 21:10:27
Don't worry gunner62 that old coffin dodger will never be seen in an Arsenal shirt :-)
03 May 2014 11:40:36

What is taken to the fa cup final every year but is never used and never will be used but its essential to be there every single season?
Losers trophy ribbons
Well done Col mate, I thought that might last the weekend but it seems I need to be more cunning than I realised
03 May 2014 09:56:31
I suppose the best scenario for us is Real Madrid miss out on the CL and la liga title so the merry go round starts up! Hopefully Real will offload and look to invest in EPL players etc. WARNING Rambo is NOT for sale so jog on! I'd love benzema though!
I'd love Ramos

Has anyone seen the Dutch Heineken advert on YouTube . If not. Watch it until the end. It put a smile in my face.
youtu.be/LdDp68H7J_8
Have to say I still laugh every time I see the Eric Cantona Kronenbourg advert. I love the look and nod he gives to the camera at the end. brilliant.
Love it Golds, especially when the legend turns up at the end.
02 May 2014 23:09:57
Hi Eds, I was wondering with all the talk about about a Cesc sale, are arsenal considering buying the legend back? Thanks
{Ed027's Note - legend? You've got to be kidding me. Cesc will not be moving
I think it might just happen Ed27, mind you I though all last summer we would sign Torres, I'm a less than reliable source
Gonna upset the masses here I feel, but is Cesc really a 'legend'?
For me, the only mid we need now is a defensive one.
I always get bit when I get hooked by rumours, but I'd love, LOVE Lars bender to be the one we actually get.
But in regards to Cesc.
Say we do buy him.
Say we spend £20-30m on him.
Who loses out?
Do you drop Özil for him?
Drop Rambo?
Pay £30m for a bench player and go for budget ones in needed positions?
Let's face it, even if we DO have this reporter £100m+ budget, Wenger won't haven a net spend of more than £50m.
Cesc would just be a needless luxury, who's declined massively in form since his return to barca and just doesn't look half the player he was.
Don't get me wrong, I'd be annoyed to see him in a Utd/city top, but as far as I'm concerned, Cesc isn't someone we need right now.
As far as the term 'legend' goes, I appreciate what Cesc did when he was with us, but did he do as much or more for the club as we did for him?
I'm not convinced.
Tony Adams, Thierry Henry, Dennis Bergkamp, Patrick Vieira, Gilberto Silva, those guys are (just some of) the players i'd class as legends, and Cesc isn't in that bracket.
Don't get me wrong, loved Cesc as a player, enjoyed what he did, enjoyed seeing him play, enjoyed his friendship with players like Hleb, Rosicky, Flamini and even now, I enjoy seeing his (fewer now) messages of love and support for the club.
But if you tell me Cesc is 100% coming back permanently, I'm excited, but that's it.
When Thierry stepped on to that pitch, as a month long loan, I remember goosebumps on my arms and when he scored that classic Henry goal, by opening his body and dropping the shoulder, god it was amazing.
That's a legend.
Peace!
