Evening Ed01 mate,

Wanted to ask you and the gooners on this page a question.

I've seen a few United fans suggest that Wenger would be a good replacement for Mourinho.

I know United fans in the main feel they have a far better squad than us.

So question is, do you think Wenger could do a job there, supposed better players with a bigger budget or do you think he is definitely finished as a top manager?

{Ed001's Note - short term he could stabilise things, but long term his lax coaching would just lead to them falling backwards the way Arsenal were imo. He would appease the players and sort out the divisions in the squad, bringing it all together initially, but he is too soft on the players and people like Pogba just take the piss.}

Do you think united regret re signing Pogba Ed?

{Ed001's Note - very much so, he spent the summer trying to force a move away.}

It looks as if it’s going a similar way with Sanchez! That’s two huge wage bills looking to make the veron signing look great 🤭.

Thanks mate, it would definitely be a weird one if he went there, I’m pretty sure he won’t though.

Will be watching the game tonight, I’m going 3-1 to you but know you won’t make a prediction! Haha.

{Ed001's Note - I will just hope you are right!!}

I would love Maureen to stop for the next five years and if he was sacked, i would love Wenger to be their manager. I think Wenger is perfect for utd, like i think Maureen is.

I’m with you Steve, I want all their current players, bar De Gea, to stay too! 😂.

It would be tough for Jose to take being sacked and replaced by Arsene :-)
If we think he's the angry one now just think what being dumped for Arsene would do for his ego.

Wenger is way past his sell by date. Mourinho is clearly on borrowed time, Zidane would be a fine replacement.

I'm no man utd fan by a very very long way but if somebody had to turn them around, if it was inevitable and unstoppable, there is absolutely nobody I'd rather do it than Arsene Wenger.
It won't be Arsene who replaces Jose but if it was I'd find it very difficult not to wish him the absolute best in this season's champions league in which Arsenal aren't involved.

On Thursday we have the opportunity to play an experienced second string team v Qarabag. Is this the best way forward, as we have to play Fulham who will be well rested at the weekend. Or do we play a strong team, which should ensure a win, keep the winning run going, with the knowledge that some players will get a rest during the international break, if not selected for their national teams. Thoughts fellow Gooners?

It's a tricky one because to much rotation doesn't seem to bring long term benefits and teams that create a good solid base that plays most games together seem to do better than those who chop and change too much.
I'm not sure how many players City used last season but Chelsea Leicester then Chelsea again used the least players in the league the seasons they won the title before City.

But it is a long trip and for some strange reason Thursday Sunday seems to be more difficult than Wednesday Saturday for teams.
I guess it depends where our priorities lay this season top 4 bid or champions league qualification via the europa league.
If it's both then I think we need to qualify through the europa group asap and then rest players once we are safely in the next round.
We have disrespected and underestimated teams in the past and been embarrassed by it.

As shown so far, we have good depth, i see no reason why we can't swap at least 6 or 7 plus players. We did it last season and arguably did better in the carriboo cup and europa league than the league. I think we have a deeper squad and can rotate quite comfortably. Plus it give players a chance to impress and get in the league team, to replace the weaker links.
