Sign him up Wenger!

Rio Ferdinand.

"Welbeck is a top signing for Arsenal. Good business done by them. If he gets that trust to be no.1 striker at AFC, he will flourish and explode".

Just read a link that was quoting RvPi$$ie saying "Falcao must fight for a place. ". I didn't have to click the link to know what he must have been talking about. The treatment table obviously.
I always thought that when LvG spoke of implementing his own unique philosophy he was speaking about football tactics. I didn't realize til after the TW closed, that his philosophy wasn't unique at all. In fact he if anything just copied the philosophy of their cross town rivals Chitty which is mercenary fishing as I like to call it. Just dangle shed loads of money and pray for a bite.

I wasn't sure how I felt about signing Danny Welbeck at first but after reading on forums and Twitter just how upset and annoyed some of the Uknitted fans were, and watching some you tube compilations, I'm excited to see him play for us. I hope he French kisses the badge when he scores against his old team the next time we play the mancs.

*the preceding comments were in no way meant to be offensive, it was just banter.

Yep and i'm sure u were one on here demanding wenger spend no money this window om these so called mercenaries mate. I mean u wouldn't want a falcao Di maria saurez or ronaldo at your club winning u titles, ure obviously more than happy with SaNOgoal.

only banter as u say mate ;-)

Spot on CTR.
I'd have loved any of those "mercenaries" thanks. And, if I only had Jones or Smalling to fill in at the back and I was desperately trying to sign a rivals backup centre half to start for us, I'd be signing defensive "mercenaries" like Benatia or even Manolas, long before I signed a striker just back from a serious knee injury, when I already have said attacking "mercenaries". But what do I know, all I can do is banter and rant from my cave in Kakadu.

You have to love the Mancs two new signings and suddenly they have the Galacticos.

Saurez, Messi, Neymar for Barca value close to £250 million.

Bale, Ronaldo, and James for Madrid value close to £250 million.

Followed by Falcao, Di Maria, Dobin Van Twinkletits and a great big Jacket Potato for United valued at £130 million and a twix.

Next they'll be saying they're going to win the league, no wait hang on, they already have.

Maybe they could call their defence the Invisibles!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol Chris, I rarely post anymore but I knew this one would reel you in. I thought Sydney! would of dropped his two cents too but oh well, maybe next time. I'm not going to lie, I'm a bit envious over DiMaria. Up until a couple of weeks ago, he was one of my favorite players.
I was actually a little impressed with the DiMaria and Falcao signings, I mean it definitely reeked of desperation over paying for them, but the club had to do what they had to do to get the deals done so congrats and good luck this season. Hope you finish in second place 1 point behind us :-)
And how can you slag off Sanogo who once scored 4 goals against Benfica at the Emirates cup. Not even Messi has scored 4 goals against Benfica at the Emirates cup so look out, we may have a worldie on our hands!

Agree0 Disagree0

I hate the term mercenary. At the end of the day they are all employees of businesses. They all try and get that balance between joining a successful team and team that can pay them a very good wage. Going by your definition every player who signs for big money is a Mercenary. Do you think Ozil desperately wanted to sign for Arsenal? The Ozil signing pretty much exactly mirrors the Di Maria signing (Big player forced out of Real Madrid joins the only 'big' team able/willing to pay for him)

I really really hope Welbeck goes on to be the player for you that I wanted him to be at United. I think Wenger is the right manager to get the best out of him.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Sep 2014 18:33:25
RedRosie,

At the time Ozil was sold his price was genuine market value for the best No10 going.

You cannot believe that a lot of clubs would not have been in for him because that would be somewhat ignoring the truth.

He chose Arsenal.

This time around you have been prepared to pay crazy amounts for players that other clubs would naturally baulk at, even Mourinho stated there was no way they were paying that much for Shaw.

Who seriously is desperate enough to pay both Rooney and Falcao crazy money. No one, well except you.

Add to that Falcao wanted to go to Madrid and you can bet still does and Di Maria wanted PSG.

It doesn't say a lot for your club mate or the player.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Sep 2014 21:34:17
Ozil spent the entire of that deadline day waiting for United to make a bid. They didn't and he went to his next choice - Arsenal. Like it or lump it players will more often than not go where the money is. That is what football is now. If Barca offered a a tidy sum for Ramsey he'd be packing his bags and going. This 'loyalty' thing you speak of is dying out. Surely Arsenal fans of all people can see that!

I know I'm clutching at straws here, but is there any possibility of bringing in a free or a loan? I know there's probably no one good left available and before yesterday its the last thing I would be asking for, but kos has been picking up lots of knocks at the start of this season and if he gets a serious injury, with Gibbs also out we would have no back ups to any of the back 4

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i think the squad list is full eden..

Flamini can fill in right and left back and sure if we get caught shirt at centre back at least we are still paying boulds wages!

Agree0 Disagree0

We can bring a free agent if he is under 21 as there no limit on the number of under 21's you can have, are there any decent free agent under 21 CB's out there, don't think so. Most Free agents tend to be older players. Why did Wenger loan out Jenkinson?

Yes we just got to get on with it a support the team and encourage the new signings. We just got to hope we can keep our back 4 pretty much fit at least until January when we can re-asses the lack of numbers defensivly. A couple of injuires and we down to bare bones with Monreal in the Centre which is a worry.

Jenkinson should never have been loaned out when he are now so light at the back and up front heavy instead. Sonogo and Gnabry should have been loaned out instead.

Agree m8, on the day I was gutted that Manchester United had got Falcao but in the cold light of day paying one player £350k, wk could have been the thin end of the wedge that cld have ruined our club. I think Welbeck could prove to be a great addition, he's now a Gunner so lest back the guy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As Good as Falcao is/was it is a big financial risk for us to take on. Like you the wages is way beyond anybody else at the club which could cause disharmony. And even with forking out 24Million or whatever it is for a season he could then just walk away without signing permanatly. For 24 Million I much rather we got a good DM on a permanent deal

To be honest I think it is unlikely He will actually sign for Manchester United at End of season as if he plays well R Madrid will come knocking and he will be off like shot I tell you. Or alternately he may not be half the player he was after that nasty injury and you left with a very expensive flop that is big drain on wages then if you do Buy him

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2014 18:02:29
As I understand it when the transfer window closes we are required to submit our squad of up to 25 senior (over 21) players to be registered to play in the EPL. We can also submit an unlimited number of under 21's. We can revise this list after the next window.

Our first team consists of 28 players 3 of whom are under 21 leaving us with what I assume is the 25 seniors submitted to play.

If this is true it is pointless people suggesting experienced out of contract players as they could not be registered anyway unless Wenger has left out Ollie from the list as he may not expect him to play until after the next window.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think you right with the squad numbers thing. What we should have done really is kept Jenkinson and maybe even Miquel as we are short defensive numbers and loaned out Gnabry and Sonogo instead.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2014 16:48:40
To all those bashing Welbeck havn't even given him a chance to play on the pitch yet.
Just wanted to point out that his goal per game when playing as a striker was actually very good. just under a goal a game I can't remember the exact percentages but it was high!

GIve him a chance, get behind the arsenal player he's going to be great

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If what we hear is correct about his work ethic. Between him, Sanchez and Kos - we are starting to build a backbone of warriors into the team - like the good times. I look forward to an arsenal that competes hard is hard to play against. Welbeck could be a huge part of that - thrilled!

Nobody can blame loic remy for choosing chelsea over us. We had all summer to make our move. We are weaker than last season I feel and it will be a close race for 4th again.

People are saying we have spent more than recent years. Its probably less if you look at it. We have more money from the premiership. Puma. And the emirates giving us more naming rights cash. Teams around us have spent more. Once again we will play catch up this season.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Wow kid, you have quite the cloud over your head. Weaker than last year?

Not much of an opinion of Sanchez then the biggest club signing since Bergkamp. And a pretty good replacement for NB52.

Turn that frown upside down.

03 Sep 2014 16:45:20

Derby
Mate love to hear how we are weaker,
Think you may have missed some great signings

Agree0 Disagree0

This is a weak and rather negative post.

But thanks for that lovely dose of sunshine.

Please come again!

Agree0 Disagree0

I see where derby is comong from I think with the exception of Liverpool the other teams have improved their teams /sqaud more then us on paper at least and corrected their weaknesses. I do think we are playing catch up again.

Agree0 Disagree0

Our squad is little stronger overall up front we have more options in Wellbeck and Sanchez now, both good signings. The disappointing thing is we still have not addressed our main weakness at DM and also left ourselves short of Defensive numbers.

For me Sonogo should have gone on loan not Jenkinson, it was silly letting Jenkinson go on loan when we knew both TV5 and Sagna both experienced defenders were both leaving. I just fear our lack of numbers in defence will come back to haunt us.

ED

Please clarify if Jenks can be called back from WHU?

Cheers

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I wouldn't think so.}

They is way a Guess as Ultimatly he is still our player but would be quite a difficult worn out process to terminated the agreed loan contract.

We should never have let him go on loan knowing how low we now are of defenders. He could fill in a CB if need be with his height.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2014 15:04:40
Alternatives (not saying they are particularly good but still):

Joseph Yobo
Diego Lugano

Both over 30 but CB backups. Is Stepanov available? Honestly, we have some talented defenders in the academy ranks that can provide cover if still needed.

Just read Wellbecks' comments on signing for us . One thing that stands out is a hunger to be a success . Positive energy won't do the team any harm. Let's get behind him and give him time to settle.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

LOONY
I think he will be very hungry, wants to prove people wrong.
A lot of top ex pros saying it could be a very good signing
but we have true arsenal fans knocking him, me i've not watched him much, so i, ll be guided by the ex Manchester United pros
Phil Neville spoke on radio 5 before the sale and was shocked that Manchester United would sell him to a rival

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2014 18:52:56
Rio speaks highly of him also - I trust his opinion as he trained with him for years

He will add so much to the team including "fight" when we are away to the big boys

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a good feeling about Wellbeck for us, I think Wenger will give him real chance up front with Giroud now injuried. I would give him that chance down the middle and keep Sanchez out as wide attacker.

One thing you can be sure off is his work effect and willingness to selfishly run the channels and offer threat in behind. He may not be the most consistent finisher in the world but he is always handful I feel for defenders. He is Pretty quick(Not Walcott pace but quick enough) and strong and has decent close control in tight spaces which sits in well with our style. I think we will enable the likes of Ozil and Cazorla to gain more space to play with.

If Wenger has confidence in him up front am sure he will gain more confidence and start improving his finishing.

For all of this Welbeck squad number nonsense, you do realise that 23 was also worn by 2 club legends:

Sol Campbell
Ray Parlour

Not to mention Paul Dickov!

So I would argue that 23 is a great squad number for English players!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

In fact our 'cursed' squad number is 9:

Davor Suker (the penalty miss. )
Francis Jeffers
José Antonio Reyes (The prank call)
Júlio Baptista (not quite the beast)
Eduardo (Still love this player!)
Park Chu-Young (who/where?)
Podolski (Who needs Gunnersaurus!)

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't call Sol a legend

Sorry

Agree0 Disagree0

For me, anyone who was a starting player on the invincibles is a legend.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good boy cangun. The most outstanding thing that's been achieved by our club in my lifetime. He was an integral part of that squad. As important as anyone else I'd say. At that time, he was arguably the best cb in the world. What's to say we'd have gone unbeaten with sol? I doubt we would have done.

Agree0 Disagree0

BANNERS
Any player that picks his coat up and says, i'm out of this broom cuboard of a club, for his Ex teams bitter rivals is a LEGEND
I would have Sol sit at my dinner tabble and tell me woes of what he won at spurs
The fact they still hate him makes me love him

Agree0 Disagree0

You can't argue with Sol and his trophy success with us.

I still smile at the fact we nicked him on a free in his prime.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sol is a legend. We could do with him now.

Obviously there's been much debate over Danny the last couple of days mostly we are in favour although some ain't happy but why are we all ducking the BIG QUESTION!
Do we like his hair?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

It's alright, got a bit of work to do to be a top haircut but don't worry, Giroud may be injured but he can show him the ways of hair preparations and what he needs to do with it!

Agree0 Disagree0

True Sydney very true, plus I'm sure Arsene has plans for how he might adapt it to fit in with the team style, I think that's why Jenks had to go out on loan ultimately, his and Ramsey's hair were just to similar to gel

Agree0 Disagree0

I fear our defence has thinned out and we have a few split ends. Arsene should of fudged that deal instead of sending Jenks hopes and dreams to dye in East London.

I think it is Ozil, Mert, Welbeck and Kos cannot play in the International friendlies through injury. Well in my opinion if there was anytime to get an injury this is it.
Nice move boys! Wink! Wink! say no more .
What in the World is up with these people that organise these Internationals. The players have just had the World Cup around 12 weeks ago, had some friendly pre season games and now started the football season and they expect them to play in a friendly for a competition that doesn't start for nearly 2 years!
I think the players have got more on their minds then to worry about a couple of matches that at the moment don't mean a thing except it is like a couple of training games.
Do these organisers really believe that the players are going to play like they would in a real game. Of course they are not. They are not going to go into tackles like they normally would etc etc and run the risk of an injury that could wipe them out and have all the grief of compensation between England and their club dragging on and on for months.
SEE DEAN ASHTON FOR DETAILS. It's ridiculous.

Not happy with the transfers tbh really cheesed off these are the plsyers I would of liked.16mil for welbeck and chambers is too much. Not sure why we didn't go for song and Toby alderwield on loan even if there not first choice its better than noyhing. Also not happy with out style of play its brcoming a bit boring with ozil or carzola out wide and nothing passing that leads to jack all we need more 1 2s more through balls more penetration I'd rather watch Liverpool play than us they go for the kill. Wenger needs to do something with the formation its not working for me

Mandzukivic-16mil
Fabregas-30mil
Benatia-24mil
Falcoa loan

Out
Podolski
Arteta
Diaby
Coquelin
Sa nogoals

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Can't you be a bit realistic.
Fabreagas priced himself out of coming back by wanting massive wages. Benatia would never have come even if we bid especially once Munich got involved and as for Falcao he's on 350k a week. Monaco are funding 150k of that for the "loan" period. That's 200k more for a player you would then want us to pay 45+ million for. He's no spring chicken and his just come off the back of a cruciate ligament injury.
As for saying Chambers has cost too much? There's good reasons we paid that. 1 - he's an excellent young player. 2 - he's no one trick pony. He's versatile where he could play 3 different positions. And 3 - he's English. Premium price. As for Wellbeck, his price again is based on similar to chambers. We also just purchased him from Manchester Utd. You really think they would sell him TO A RIVAL for any less?

Agree0 Disagree0

Reading that post irritated me. If you prefer watching Liverpool, then why don't you?
There is a reason why Big Sam and a couple of Turkish clubs were the only ones interested in Song its because that is his level now.

Did you think £15/16million was too much for Walcott or The Ox? i'm pretty sure we would not sell any of our young English talent for anything less than double that figure.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sadly Imired the battle is over and the war was lost mate.
We can go on and on about what Arsene should or shouldn't have done but the summer window is a done deal.
Maybe next year or the one after that mate :-)

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2014 09:46:16
I agree with the formation point as sometimes our play does become stale in the final 3rd whereas you watch Liverpool who seem to be much more creative with their chances.

Welbeck and Chambers are good buys. Chambers seems to have fitted in immediately and can play a variety of positions. We paid £16m for a defender/DMF (where he started his career) who is 19 and sold a 28year old CB with consistent injury problems since his achilles injury for around £15m, if I am correct. Chambers can now be Kos & Merts understudy and learn the game from two seasoned internationals. Personally I think that is great business.

Welbeck never really got a run in at United. He was frequently played out of position (and quoting SAF here) "for the sacrifice of the team". Even SAF admitted his goal tally was put before the better of the team. On his day, Welbeck can be a beast. If you rewind to the Utd/Real Madrid game at OT, he literally made a fool of Alonso and assisted RVP. Wenger has proven experience of taking young players and making them world class. You only have to look back through our transfer outs over the past years to see that. RVP, Fab etc. Ox, Jack and Theo are examples of how Wenger has improved young, raw, English players.

Of that list, I think only Fab would have come back but unfortunately, we could field a full 11 of midfielders. We have enough. It may come back to bite us but if we hadn't spend £43m on Ozil in the previous season, he would be back at the Emirates.
It is all very well listing players but it actually depends if they want to come to Arsenal.

I wouldn't touch Falcao with a bargepole. Yes, he has a great record but when he came to the Emirates, he only scored once. Our main height defending set pieces comes from Mert, who was still off after international duty. For the total cost Man United are laying out, he is not a good buy at all. I would like to also point out, he has historical problems with his knee which put him out of Monaco's team a lot last season plus he has only played in leagues that I would not describe as physical. Ill reserve judgement on him until he comes up against a team that really bully him.

Agree0 Disagree0

Obvs I watch arsenal play but its frustrating with Liverpool it seems there play is more clinical instead of just keeping the ball and sometimes u want us to kill the game as soon. As possible are play is different to the likes of barca and Liverpool . as for fabregas he was our captain and we should of done whatever it takes to bring him back he's settled so well at Chelsea which is also frustrating as for welbeck he's decent but none of us wanted him. We would of preferred Remy or bony as for chambers yes he's versatile and English but he's not world class like benatia at the moment I wanted a spine like Chelsea and liked how they done there buisiness yes song is not world class but I'd rather him playing than arteta who is too slow too weak and gives away too many fouls in dangerous positions also Toby alderwieild would of been a decent signing on loan

How can you watch Sanogo and Joel Campbell and play Sanogo? This baffles can anyone explain this. I feel Sanogo has no touch, can't read the game, gets caught offside far too often, i.e. v. Burnley if he held his run he is through on a breakaway. Further he isn't even good in the air, I can't find one redeeming quality. He might have a hard time breaking into barnet football club's starting 11.
How anyone can be upset with signing welbeck I don't understand either. Considering our spending habits he has a lot of upside. Think about playing man city, Chelsea, Tottenham with Sanogo leading our attack we would have no shot. Well maybe against tottenham.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sanogo is an excellent young player, who was player of the tournament when France won the U20 World Cup, being their top scorer with 4 goals. He has scored consistently during his short career. The step up, particularly for a forward, to the top of the Premier League, so I suggest patience with him. I am certain Wenger knows what he is doing, having brought through the likes of RVP && Henry.
As for Campbell, I do feel sorry for him, as he has has little opportunity to shine at the club. I sense Wenger sees him more as a wide player, than a central striker.
We now have the excellent Welbeck, who has the experience to play the central role. With Theo back next month, our striking options look good. I am more concerned about our lack of defenders and the quality of our two holding midfield players.

Agree0 Disagree0

Darrentampa. I'm with you on this one. I'm sure Wenger is supposed to know what he is doing. But I have seen absolutely nothing that suggests to me that he should be on the pitch let alone wearing an Arsenal shirt. Matter of fact I have seen nothing that convinces me he is a Premiership Player. I do not understand it either my friend.

Agree0 Disagree0

He got caught offside twice in the game, do you know of another player called Van Nistelroy how many times he was caught playing offside playing for UTD, and still ended up with 30 goals. get your facts right before banging in here.

Aman. To start with.Don't keep making your posts personal it gets on people's nerves. Secondly I actually do know what I'm talking about. Who cares about Van Nistleroy who is talking about him anyway. Nobody could give a monkeys about him. What facts are you on about anyhow.
All people are expressing is what they see is happening. By the way Geoff Hurst scored a hatrick for England at the 1966 World Cup. That's a fact too but about relevant to this post as your Van Nistleroy.

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets not crucify the poor lad Sanogo. You can see he has the raw base physical qualities to be success he iss very raw and learning the game. He eds to go out on loan to be honest

Thats funny golds, don't let them wind you up mate!

Agree0 Disagree0

I am not trying to crucify Sanogo it is not his fault he is playing. But if you were Jürgen Klopp would you be the least bit worried about him playing up front. We might as well not even play Champions League because we have no shot with him up front. A few years ago when we should have beaten Liverpool in the Champions League when Theo scored that amazing goal I felt we had a chance to win it I haven't felt that way since. Aman talk to me when Sanogo scores one goal in a game that matters let alone 30.

Agree0 Disagree0

Strikers need one of two things, instinct or composure, great ones have both Sanogo has neither that is all that has to be said on the subject.

Agree0 Disagree0

Darrentampa. Not at all mate. If I was Klopp and I saw Sanogo's name on the team sheet I would laugh my balls off.
I'd be more worried if an unknown under 16 player was on the pitch.
Lets have a competition. Name 3 things you s think Sanogo is good at so far.
Mine are .
1. Walking on the pitch.
2.Wearing the correct kit.
3. Walking off the pitch.
-:)
See ya

Agree0 Disagree0

Classic Goldboy my thoughts exactly. LMAO.
He is very good at
1. Sitting on the bench
2. Upping our shots off target statistic.
3. Celebration dance after scoring against Benicia.

Barca released their spending figures

We paid 34 for Alexis
And received a base 8 for vermelan plus 4 add ons- bargain for Barca

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I can't say that I agree that Vermaelen was a Barca bargain. He has not looked the same player since his achilles ops.

Agree RG, he has really struggled.

Gone are the days when he used to be a beast at the back.

Still the most bizarre decision of the transfer window? Sending out Jenkinson and then ending the window extremely short on defenders.
The guy is Arsenal through and through, experience at the top playing right back, an engine to match anyone in the league and the physique to play/cover centre back?
Think we missed a trick to be honest.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Spot on

And you are not alone in those thoughts

crazy

Agree0 Disagree0

LG its another one of those only Arsene knows why things like why Joel doesn't get a chance to show his world cup form for us.
Trying to understand Arsene's thinking will only make your head hurt

Agree0 Disagree0

It is just a Loan deal Jenko can be called back if needed.

Agree0 Disagree0

Hector bellerin will cover debucy if chambers is covering at cb. Bellerin just beat walcot's sprint record, did v.well in preseason and is looking like our future right back. That is why jenks was allowed to go.

Agree0 Disagree0

That's all very well Jenson but what's he like at long jump and pole volt, and don't get me started on the parallel bars

Agree0 Disagree0

Aman, no he cant, see Ed's earlier post

Agree0 Disagree0

I doubt that very much players can be called back from loan, I remember SAF calling back 2 players from loan from a club his son was managing, when he got the sack. So I think its highly possible.

wenger have a good window

has that ever happened

geezer is guilty of criminal neglect

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Nonsense, Wenger has brought in 5 excellent signings, which we all would have been happy with when the window opened.
Yes, we need an additional defender and a holding midfield player, but signing 5 quality players takes some doing, so let's be patient and see what happens in the January window.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair 5 signings for us is a revolution but without a DM Arsene has bought all the components he needs to build a fine car, except an engine, stupid boy

i give in i've sent the tickets back I can't have the club mugging me off but that's my opinion

what I want to know according to records danny wa**er is now on a long term contract but at 115k a week!

if you look back at accounts 115k is our third highest weekly wage ever

and i'm told danny f)ckin welbeck is the answer costin us 5.9 million a year

welbeck costs 29.9 million with 16 million fee? and you think i'm fickle and lost my mind? jeez I can't believe I deflected it so well

persons

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I very much don't agree with you and you are entitled to your opinion. However I don't think you should use derogatory terms on Danny Welbeck as you called him Danny W**ker, that's out of order and unfair, you shouldn't blame him for wanting to join us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gooner74. I don't believe you had a season ticket in the first place. Any arsenal fan over 12 wouldn't act like this. If you're going to act like this, it would have been after a transfer window when we spent money on crap, like 2010. Not now, when we spent £70 odd million. Ridiculous.

Agree0 Disagree0

If you have done that, it can't be just because we have signed Welbeck. surely

Agree0 Disagree0

I think we all need to calm down a wee bit.
Yeah they charge the fans too much that needs to be addressed by fans demonstrating about it, but with the waiting list being what it is don't hold our breaths. Welbeck is I think going to surprise some, provided he plays down the middle, he was brought by Fergie for that position, but has played for the team out of position. That at least shows commitment. Alex is still a top signing, Debuchey has already shown he's a solid performer & in Chambers maybe just maybe we have a gem of a player in 2-3 yrs.
The players we have are well up to standard the question is have we a team, if we improve the playing side & the problems remain then it is NOT the players.
This has been our problem ever since a triangle has been more important than a thru pass to a forward at pase.
Half the amount of passes & double the effectiveness of the same & we can get back to where we have all grown used too.
Any way guys the fun & stress :) of the window is over. We now have the players we have, let's get back to being fans & get behind the team.
Just a word for the eds who as usual done a great job & the regular posters that made me laugh & smile & think a bit more.
Gotta love the window for the sheer fun of it.

Whats the waiting list for the season tickets like these days?

G74, I think you should reserve judgement on Welbeck until you actually see him play a game or two, in the central role.

Agree0 Disagree0

Gooner74, you call yourself an arsenal fan speaking like that? Have you seen him play in an arsenal shirt yet, because I know I havent. How much of an person are you going to look if Danny Welbeck scores 15-20 goals this season? Have a bit of respect, we're not at school. Don't judge a book by its cover. You should give him a chance to show us.

Hi eds. Do you know if arsenal would be interested in Jonas? From what I've read he is a free agent and he is a proven scorer in a top league. At 30 could still be a big contributer. Thanks.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed027's Note - we've just signed Welbeck

Ed027, I'm not sure if you've offered this or not, let me know if you have. I'm curious on your thoughts of Danny signing? Thanks

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed027's Note - he's a huge improvement on Sanogo. He comes with a point to prove, and I remember him having a good scoring record when he was played in strike. The Mancs and all their legends aren't happy with the sale so that should make is happy!

I agree, thanks for the reply Ed!
