Use our rumours form to send us arsenal transfer rumours.

I don't see how any pro Wnger / Board fan camn defend them this week, even more so after today's news about Wellbeck. Its conning the fans in a way, I am so glad I only go to away games . The Board and Wenger are just taking the money and not repaying those of you who pay the high prices to watch us at home.

I love Arsenal to bits but not the people running it , for them its money money money as the Swedish four once said.

Totally agree Banbury, I've Always backed Wenger, and I've appreciated how we've had to control the spending whilst we were dealing with the debt of moving to the Emirates

We were clearly told that after numerous commercial deals we were now able to compete with our rivals for players off the field that would help with us to compete with them on the field, our activity in the transfer market somewhat contradicts that.

3 years ago I decided that I could no longer warrant paying the highest prices in the country for mediocrity, I couldn't see where my money was going so i decided that I'd keep it for myself.

I've not bought a shirt or been to the Emirates for 3 seasons, normally I'd take in at least 15 games a season across all competitions and now I'll be entering a fourth season, gutted tbh

If I'd have thought we'd be leaving Highbury for this id have never been behind the move

It's got to point where you can be no longer chastised for your opinion Banbury. But in season time we just have to pray now mate. Let's hope something good happens

Agree banbury, I've also done another angle that ended up on "other posts" but the same feelings. If you have a minute have a read . Wenger and the board forget the fans but i'm sure they might be reminded in the next few months. Pretty bad decisions made over past few weeks.

We spent less than 2 matchday takings this window...

cavani said "take a chance on me" but aw wouldn't because of "money money money"

Football manager is probably one of if not most precious progressions going all managers fear the sack to some degree, for some one poor run is their lot for others is a bad season but no one other than Arssne is 100% safe what ever happens.

We all to some degree fear if we don't deliver to a certain standard our jobs livelihood is at risk with keeps us on our toes and without any fear we would all become arrogant.

If Arsene had to finish within 5 points of the champions to keep his job we would have bought out field players this window without question.

Too true , they have dug a hole for themselves by announcing their wealth....stupid really.

I get to see about 10-15 games a year, the odd home game in the league cup , and lesser team at home but away games for me.

I've never been a shirt wearer to be honest , although my little lad got one last season, but not anymore.

600k a month goes on the wages of Arteta and Flamini ( combined) move them on and replace with a quality player , but that's not our way.

Yes the stadium is fantastic.....but for whoes ego (I will get some stick for that comment ) but we have paid it off, told the world look at us , this is how you run a club........ look at our bank balance ..................and??

Agree0 Disagree0

Or maybe guys Wenger is used to buying class players for lesser money like he has done when the money wernt there

I am torn, not revealing Wellbecks injury until after the close of the window makes sense if you are trying to get a striker in before the close of the window.

I think letting it be known that he is out for months puts you at a disadvantage in negotiating with other clubs.

It has blown up in Wengers face because he did not sign anyone, although, ed02 has explained what happened there, so, I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt after Alexis last year and Ozil the year before that Wenger tried to bring in a world class striker and it was not possible.

We went into the window with three needs and two wants. We got a keeper, we did not get a cf or dm. We may be needed another cb (only if chambers is not ready) and an upgrade on monreal/Gibbs.

Even with the squad we do have we should compete for the title and the cups.

I feel you ignore that there are 17 teams in the premier league that would want to trade places with us even after this window. Yes, our window was disappointing and yes I wanted more but honestly player for player only chelsea and man city have a better squad than US and I think we could still beat both of them to the title.

:) I have the most bizarre feeling, that the total amount the season ticket holders put into the club, has been at least matched by the expenditure of the club in the last 10 years... Just a feeling though, I haven't seen the figures

What now if Olly picks up an injury between now and January? Theo? Like he's well proven up top and always fit and available isn't he!
Some will trot out the usaul bad luck with injuries excuses but the truth is this is horrendously poor management.
But is anyone really shocked about Danny and how long we've known? Its pretty par for the course stuff for us I'd say.

Totally agree

Wenger must have known about this last week , same old same old.

The news was delayed on purpose .

Agree2 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 21:00:42
Almost identical to the Kos situation last season, he came back from the world cup carrying an injury and was being patched up even in the champions league qualifier but still the widow came and went without cover being brought in and Monreal Debuchy and chambers all brought as fullbacks had to play CB and our tittle hopes were gone by October.
Its happened time after time before and will happen to after time again.

03 Sep 2015 21:08:07
I am not very sure u want to wish that

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 21:20:21
Totally agree, how do we not learn from our mistakes, I support Wenger, but that has to go down as poor management. It'sbeen ppretty much every window that a couple of signings would take us to the level to challenge. But now it will be the same again

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 22:38:12
Wenger did the same with TV, the injury reports kept saying he would return on such a date, as soon as the window was shut the true extent of his injury was revealed

welbeck out for a"period of months" oh God

Believable0 Unbelievable0

03 Sep 2015 19:47:41
Well he wouldn't be an arsenal player if he didn't get to know the medical staff and claim his couch in the treatment room. there's only 22 beds and if you don't get in first he may miss out in a few weeks when the cold weather wreaks havoc on the old joints.

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 23:43:33
Totally agree with you Steve, your negative points are actually correct.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 16:58:15
So Danny Welbeck's now out for 3 additional months.

Now, maybe I'm just looking to vent frustration, but you have to feel the club would of known of this before the window closed.

It's not as if he's turned up this morning and just casually mentioned he's had a knee op 'By the way boss, thanks for Monday off, FYI, had my knee cut open, as you do'

Now I can get on board with not spending on any old striker to replace giroud.
Better the devil you know right?

But if the club knew we were going into the first half of the season with only 1 real striker, then someone has to take some blame here.
Even if they only had 2 or 3 days, your telling me we couldn't even sort a loan to cover for him?

Let's face it, Theo ISN'T a striker, Alexis ISN'T a striker and Joel ISN'T a striker, sure they can do a job, but playing a role isn't just about doing a job, you have to know the role, the position and have the attributes to succeed.

Out of those 3, Alexis is the best option up top, but he's our best winger, there's no sense moving him out of position.

We don't struggle to create chances, regardless of injures I'd be playing Sanchez as a striker tbh

Agree0 Disagree1

03 Sep 2015 20:28:10
I'm with you on that 1404 , we have created more chances than any other PL side so far this season, its when you stop creating is the time to worry.

I'd throw Sanchez in there also

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 21:00:38
That's why I'd have not thought twice on sighing Charlie Austin, he's proved he can consistently score in every league and team he's played in, he'd of put a least one f the fluffed chances against Newcastle that Giroud and Theo missed, Sanchez is the closest thing we've got to Augero and he's doing alright

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 22:13:44
Even if Olly hits good form in front of goal again he has to do it until the new year consistently without a break and even if he's not fully fit we have to play him.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 21:29:16
I agree 1404, don't know why dags got so much stick, yes he's not the big name everyone wanted but he's a damn sight better than no one.I am intrigued as to why no one bought him, if an ed could enlighten me, surely 15mil wasn't an extortionate fee considering what others were going for

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 15:50:35
Bielik not in the Champions League squad although other youngsters are included.

Is it just me who expected him to be a bit more involved in the first team by now, what with the amount we invested in him?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

03 Sep 2015 17:16:46
Wenger knows what to invest and whom to play . Just dnt mind it . No use

{Ed002's Note - You need to ask such questions on the Manchester United page.}

03 Sep 2015 15:48:19
I doubt anybody can give you that answer unless they're management. Also it depends if he is any good in his first few games surely?

The club has just announced that Danny Welbeck's cartilage has failed to respond to an increased training workload and that a decision was taken last week for him to undergo surgery. He is expected to "be out for a period of months". Yes you've read this right... they knew this last week. I'm lost for words.

03 Sep 2015 15:46:48

03 Sep 2015 15:47:39
that is not a panic buy mate. welbeck was tho

03 Sep 2015 16:21:58
Charlie Austin.

Agree2 Disagree1

03 Sep 2015 17:58:30
I think " don't worry we have welbeck coming back soon" was one of the most used phrases on Tuesday, we can rooll it back out in January

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 18:22:17
I fail to see how it would have been a panic buy, they must have known Wellbeck would at least possibly need the op, so it would have been the duty of the club to make sure they had plans in place to deal with that.
I've said it before, as far as i can see that is a dereliction of duty.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 19:54:09
Exactly Dags, Charlie Austin was a no brainer

Can't believe we knew this last week have sold Podolski and let Sanogo go out on loan and still didn't sign a striker

I said the board and Wenger were clueless on Monday, I gave them to much credit there I think

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 22:35:59
Absolutely 1404.

Should have kept Podolski.

I just want to point out the obvious... This is a BANTER page. You need difference in opinion to have a banter page. Everyone has their ideas on how the club should be run. But some people are more "equal than others" and think their opinion counts more than that of others.

Someone might think Ozil needs replacing. I personally love Ozil, but that doesn't mean I should lose my mind if someone suggests he is not good enough

If someone thinks Giroud is not good enough, then it's their right to think so

If someone thinks Wenger has reached his sell by date, then no problem. That's an opinion

The fact that we haven't won the league in quite a while means there is a short coming somewhere. We are all allowed to have opinions as to which positions or players need upgrades or re-inforcement.

PS I like CTR. He is not an Arsenal fan, so do not expect him to come here and sing praise for Arsene Wenger and our club. As long as everything is kept light - hearted, then I personally enjoy every bit of it. At the end of the day, it's all good fun

Fantastic post.

Every word is true.

Agree0 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 14:06:59
my points are.

wenger won't win another premier league.

ozil is good but i wouldn't play him and cazorla in the same team. ozil wasnt a needed signing and will continue to struggle without a world class striker. if we signed suarez over ozil we would now be challenging i think

i think gabriel is a gem on a lighter note what a find.

i have some strong and quite views i want us to win more and challenge more than anyone. we should look at bayerns business model.

sorry if i go to far or piss people off. love you all.x

Ctr raver honey b or whoever are football fans and like to rib the opposition, please people realise what this site is here for. If you don't like don't join in, if you do join the banter. They aren't gloating because like us they haven't got much to gloat about, if they do then they will get knocked down a pwg or two i'm sure. Lighten up guys and don't take it personally.

Arsenal have as good a chance as any - that's what sport is all about. The memorable teams are the ones that come through controversy like this window and do it against the common wisdom. We have a chance to do it the memorable way, wouldn't change much but in the case of all the other squads out there would change much more - especially MU who at least used to do it the right way. So I say bring on the banter but we have the high ground.

17 teams will not win the EPL. Only 5 teams have won it in its history and we are always in the mix, doing it the right way and with flair - don't know what the problem is… can't wait to get the season re-started!

Agree1 Disagree0

03 Sep 2015 15:11:06

No point having a banter sure with no banter.

Sure just like Ozil displayed that great piece of skill at palace, now anyone of those utd players he mentioned could do that and walk into our team right. As usual the usual bandwagon has come out with the same old thing banter. I have said it and will say it again there is a difference between banter and being a mourinho in other words annoying

People. so we didn't sign anyone, we have a fantastic squad with a real chance of improving on last season!
The players have to go out on the pitch now knowing that some of their fans don't think they can win the league. how about we all get behind our team, be the 12th man and actually believe they can do it to give them the confidence they need.
believe in Wenger and hey, there's always January
