Still not sure about CD partnership - Chambers looks sharp and I like the young Greek dude but we need experience in there so may be one of them partners Papa so we have experience plus pace and mobility.

They talked about Unai playing differing formations dependant upon opposition, so much to like about the players you mention, love Mkhitaryan too, he is just class.
Defensively we are still a work in progress but like the look of Torreira. Mavropanos looks so calm on the ball. Long may his progression continue.

Yes SY mate i think that side in a 4 4 2 formation could be worth a try.
We are a work in progress and I'm sure Dick hasn't come in totally unaware of the obvious problems and weaknesses that all of football has talked about for years.
He's giving many of the players he inherited a chance to show they can do better than they have previously demonstrated but thus time next year it will be 100% an Emery Arsenal that starts the season and we will expect him to have sorted out those who can from those who can't and acted accordingly.
I'm really looking forward to watching the team again this season come what may and hopefully there will always lot to cheer about along the way:-)

Is it just me or Rob holding should be our first choice with papa? Rob holding is comfortable on the ball, hardly makes a mistake, looks composed position wise and doesn't rush into tackles where not necessary. Also wins them headers and is a danger for the opponents in set pieces (goal against PSG).
I think he's young but has been in the arsenal set up to take his game to the next level. I'm looking forward to how he develops under the new coaching staff. What do you guys think?

I think Chambers is going to emerge as an Arsenal regular this season and win a lot of doubters over, maybe Holding can do the same, be nice if Chambers Holding and the young Greek CB all really kicked on under Dick suddenly transforming one of our problem positions into one of our biggest strengths.

Very true - all signed under the old regime also. like all three of them.
Would like to see Mavro get a lot of game time with an experienced centrehalf next to him. Saw him play live last season and the guy is mobile and a beast.

Auba is our stand out quality player and it seems madness to reduce his effectiveness to accodatate Lacasette inclusion. It's not Lacasette fault but unless you play with 2 out and out strikers his inclusion weakens us elsewhere.

Totally agree - he plays in a 4 4 2 while Rambo plays in a 4 3 3
Different set ups for different occasions plus who’s fit or not or who’s in form.
