I mean no disrespect but I have just watched MOTD and the defending for Hazard's goal is shameful, they showed a still picture just before he shoots and there are 6 Arsenal players around Hazard and no Chelsea players anywhere near him am afraid something is just not right at the club.

Coquelin, Kos and Mustafi and he just brushed them aside.

Shameful.

In the move for hazards goal kos was actually beaten three times in the move from the halfway line. At least he tried a bit.

i just can't believe how people can defend wenger. He has been subjecting us to the same humiliation every year for the last 12 years. just let it go man. Do the honourable thing and resign.

I have always been wenger out since like 2010/2011 and i have been consistent with it because frankly i am tired of seeing the same movie with a tragic ending over and over again. we seem to capitulate every february or march.

you can say that is the only consistent thing about us. If you are reading this and you are wenger in let me reason with you. If we lose two or three games and the players are below par you can blame them and say it could be their fault but if it happens over an extended period, it is the managers fault. why do i say so?

It is is because the manager picks the team, motivates them and buys them. If a players is not playing well drop them, if they don't want to be at the club, sell them. simple. the buck stops with the manager.

Instead of looking inwards what wenger does is give excuses. we played rubbish today and he came out today and said the ref robbed us. really? why can't you just say as it is? We were rubbish today. wenger always has the same excuses every season. He needs to go!

Bottom line is, we are just not good enough.

2 wins in our last 18 away games against teams in top 6, none in past 9 games, tells a story.

Manager not good enough.
Team not good enough.

He ain't going nowhere he's just been offered another 2 years. AW and the board live in their own little bubble everyone can see what is wrong but them let's be honest nothing will change at the club 2 stan sells he's shares and new owners come in and want 2 win. But stan will never sell the board will never change so are club will stay the same we have years of this crap 2 come ladys n gents.

Groundhog day. Same old, same old. Like him or loath him, Neville summed it up. Lack of physicality and knowhow. He wasn't though right to slag off the fan with the Wenger Out banner. He pays his money and is entitled to his opinion and it's becoming harder to disagree. People need to accept he has to go at some point and why not sooner rather than later? ?

One way to save our season.
Switch to 3-5-2.

Look at what Antonio Conte has done at Chelsea.
When we beat them 3-0, he than switched to 3-5-2, and has won about 16 games out of 18.

When he became Juventus manager in 2011, he immediately switched them to 3-5-2 and won 3 successive titles.

Should Wenger do the same?

Kos, Mustafi and Gabriel playing as 3 Centre Halves.
Monreal and Bellerin as Wing Backs, which will stretch the opposition and give us more options in attack.

Will it work?
Probably a pointless post as Wenger will never use it.

Believable0 Unbelievable1

{Ed001's Note - isn't it a 3-4-3?}

04 Feb 2017 21:07:20
Chelsea are 343 but i think we have the players for 352 but not the coach, its way out of his abilities.

Trouble is Dags 1 of those 3 is not premiership quality and never will be, Mustafi probably will be but is still too small and Kos is v good but pushing on a bit. Playing 3 could help bring holding into the fold though, as I would prefer him as part of the 3 than gabs.

Holding next to Kos and Mustafi would be quality.

Your days are over R. G., too many average players who don't want it with a great manager who's had his day. Us on the other hand top squad with a young top manager, best defense in the league, best young midfielder in Europe in Ali and the ultimate goal machine in Harry Kane, and are building a monster of a ground next to whl. I told you that you would get smashed as you have failed to beat any big club this season and when you come to us in April you are getting smashed again.

On a positive note - Cech got a great assist πŸ˜‰

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Feb 2017 17:10:49
Ospina needs a chance now for me, he makes fewer mistakes than cech, who for me is protected from blame too much.

04 Feb 2017 17:17:04
Plus and i said this weeks back, his kicking is atrocious.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 18:37:17
agree Steve Cech has been unconvincing of late and Ospina deserves a shot. Ox one of the few positives notes today a needs to have a run of games now. We basically have not got the mentality of winners under Wenger and don't take enough pride in defending well as a team, we don't do the dirty side of the game good enough. Looks like its a fight for our usual 4th place against Liverpool. Chelsea don't look like being caught now tbh.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 19:37:06
I read somewhere ospina has kept more clean sheets in an arsenal shirt than cech. And that was before the draw with bournmouth.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 20:08:20
From the moment we signed Cech, I never jumped on the "Cech" bandwagon.

Preferred Ospina than and still prefer him now.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 20:42:57
He was supposed to be worth 10 to 15 points a season but to who.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 21:10:23
Dags like you of all the players in our team ospina was petforming at a very high level week after week. The fact he is still here is our benefit. The guy 100% didn't deserve what he got, when players in this team week after week under perform.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2017 11:03:15
Ospina definitely deserves a run, although I am not sure he is the long term answer, and at just 6ft, he is a bit too small, especially pared with our main CH, s who are also on the small side height wise. Would not exactly be the start of the stronger core we all want.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 15:07:16
Arsenal's season has always been predictable over a decade now. I'm not saying this because we lost to Chelsea. At some point every team gets beaten but looking at the upcoming fixtures, it's difficult to win all matches seeing how our team plays. The 'invincibles' were strong, good and had a strong core while everyone was up for a fight. This newly built arsenal has good players but we've become very fragile and soft to the core making it easier for opponents to ride on us. Although there's talent in the squad, I question our character on the pitch. Being fan doesn't mean you shouldn't tell the truth when it's glaring all over. Something needs to change at the club. Something new should be tried - maybe a change of formation (at least RG 61 has been a strong advocate at this) . We must step out of our comfort zone for once. This is too much for the fans.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i will have that willy..

Steve it wasn't such a bad result for the arsenal fans! At least we ain't 6 points behind with no hope of winning the league and having to listen to people go on until may. At least now we know 100% and can enjoy our cup runs lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 18:10:06
I bet Max Allegri would just love to take a giant step backwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 19:08:35
Thing is though if you look at Chelsea last season they were worse than us this season by miles and in comes a decent manager and the very same squad look very good! If I was any manager looking for a good opportunity to prove themselves then arsenal would be a good job to take.

Juve hasn't had much in the way of competition for years. Only thing is that I would like to know if I was taking over how much say I have in signings and realistic budget etc. There's no way any half decent manager is going to want to come in if wenger is still about somewhere in the club. The only way I would still like to see arsene at our club next season is if it's a statue outside the emirates stadium.

04 Feb 2017 19:31:32
Sano, you forgot kante.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 21:22:39
There are better managers than wenger out there. i can list quite a few.

1. leornardo jardim - monaco coach. His teams are defensively solid. last season he was accussed of being too conservative. This season, his teams are all attack. scored the most goals in europe. With him you will get a coach who won't concede many goals.

2. vincenzo montella - ac milan coach. plays beautiful attacking beautiful. did well with fiorentina too.

3. thomas tuchel - tactically probably the best coach in europe. don't think he is a great motivator though but speaks fluent english and he plays entertaning football. would be an upgrade on wenger definitely.

4. jorge sampaoli - his sevilla team are flying at the moment. Footballing wise he is a mad man. his teams outscore the opponets but has shown he can win trophies as he did with chile.

5. max allegri - Not that entertaining but plays balanced football. would be better than wenger.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Feb 2017 22:31:12

Punani, you forgot simione and you named five others, see loads of managers out there for us to consider.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Feb 2017 09:35:25
simeone won't suit arsenal because he does not play possession based attacking football. Best for Arsenal would be tuchel, jardim or sampaoli. If we get either of the five coaches i listed our fortunes would most probably change. I think jardim is going to win ligue 1 with monaco this season and sevilla will finish in top 3.That is what good coaches can do. They give you that extra edge. Tactically wenger is a dinosaur. If you want to see a tactical game, watch bayern vs dortumund last season, tuchel vs guardiola. It was explosive. end to end attacking football. It was madness.

Well there's your answer to anyone who wondering if Sanchez will sign a new contract. I don't think he will sign a new contract even if he was offered double the money after today.
All the Chelsea goals were caused by a build up of bad passes from us. Our passing has been awful.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

05 Feb 2017 04:39:19
The point of my post was to emphasise that I don't think Sanchez will be an Arsenal player next season as Arsenal are not, in my opinion, a major player any more and that shows when we play the top clubs. It wasn't a post about Sanchez's performance.
Also anyone who knows anything about football would know that the tactics in the Chelsea dressing room would have been about closing Sanchez down from the get go.
Who wouldn't plan it like that.
Unfortunately for us we have been rumbled good and proper as we haven't got a back up to him. So this is what happens. It's simple take him out and we collapse.

Ed02 I've seen a lot of talk about statdna. Is this really a big part of how clubs identity players? Although it seems a good idea stays don't always tell the full story.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Not to the extent they would have you believe. Clubs use various tools in scouting players and looking at opposition but it still comes down to the personal touch.}

Absolutely no cover for Bellerin today, if Hazard and Alsonso attack. Perhaps we should have tried Gabriel at RB, with Bellerin on the right in place of Walcott. I would have played Sanchez on the left wiith Welbeck starting up top. It will be interesting to see if Ozil goes missing. Chelsea look so much more balanced than us.

Believable7 Unbelievable9

{Ed025's Note - i dont think you like arenal very much RG do you?..

04 Feb 2017 12:27:26
Ed! Ha! I love Arsenal, I just hate seeing teams put out incorrectly. I pray I'm wrong, but I can't see anything but a Chelsea win. I will eat plenty of humble pie if I am incorrect. In the current formation we need wide players than can assist the full backs when defending. Walcott and Iwobi cannot do this job, whereas Bellerin and Sanchez could. Ox in a deep mdfield role concerns me today, but we have few options, due to the absentees. Perhaps moving Mustafi next to Coquelin may have worked, but a huge gamble in a match of this magnitude.

Agree6 Disagree10

{Ed025's Note - i will have a spoon ready for you RG.. :)

04 Feb 2017 12:48:53
Clear foul by Alonso for the goal, as he leads with his right arm. Bellerin off injured and Alonso should have been sent off. Useless refereeing by a very poor ref. However, it highlight my concerns that you mocked.

The bridge today not a happy stomping ground, Chelsea for me this season haven't been blistering just very professional. Spurs did the job on them and today is more important for us than them today. Most losses this year have provoked a good reaction so hopefully we will get that. A win today just about keeps us in touching distance and with key FA cup and Bayern tie comingnup a positive result would do wonders to keep the unity and belief, I love the Arsenal and believe today. Chamberlain to put in a hell of a performance in CM . giroud cannot start upfront please a free flowing front three that can drag the Chelsea back 3 out of positions and track the wingers back.
