Watched the Chelsea Tottenham match. Was just trying to see how well we compare with these teams. Here is where we are inferior:
1. Our CF is just too slow. I have learnt to live and respect Giroud, but he is just too slow
2. When we attack the box, we pass sideways and backwards too much
3. We do not shoot from distance. The fact that we try to pass the ball into the net coupled with point two means opposition box is always crowded and sometimes we should shoot from distance, which we don't
4. Sometimes we suffer from an inexplicable lack of urgency
5. We only have one consistent wing in Sanchez, all else are bot consistent enough to be Arsenal wingers
6. Our second rate players do not do enough in attack. We always expect Sanchez to score the bulk. In some matches, he is marked out of the game and we need someone else to raise their hand and be match winner
7. Xhaka does not operate at a good enough level
8. Ramsey has no business playing for Arsenal
9. We have too many hit and miss players: Walcot, Ox, Iwobi, Xhaka Ramsey is always poor despite being the coaches "favourite"
We do not handle pressure well. Maybe the coach scares the rubbish out of the players or we get stage fright. Whenever the words "yhis is an opportunity for Arsenal to reduce the gap. " we falter terribly
10. When playing badly, Sanchez is the only one who shows passion and keeps trying. No one else really takes responsibility

Rant over.

To be fair, we can't keep slagging off Giroud.

I'm not saying he's our saviour, and we will probably never win the league with him up top.

But yesterday he scored and had 2 assists, with the Perez assist being an incredible pass.

Why do the same players keep getting slagged off, even when they play well? (He was MOTM) .

That's no dig at you Rue, just a general observation.

One thing is for sure is we are currently not at the same level as spurs and Chelsea, we are slightly behind Liverpool and we are in a third tier with the Manchester clubs ( that's not just in points but in the current level) spurs and Liverpool will probably bottle it! City and united will be hit and miss! We need to address certain possition in this transfer window to stay in the top 4 in my opinion!

Excuse me Sanogolovesbentner, but is that an Arsenal fan calling another team "bottlers"? I must protest this statement.

05 Jan 2017 06:54:11
What nonsense Sonogo. Arsenal are only one win behind second placed Liverpool and thrashed Chelsea 3-0 at home. We along with City are the sole remaining teams of those you mentioned that are still in the CL and don't forget that only the toot were in the CL, the top two were not and that gave them an advantage in the PL race. I do agree that we need reinforcements in the transfer window. I believe we need a quality LB and cover at RB. From a tactical point of view, I would play either Giroud or Welbeck up front, with Sanchez back on the left to provide cover for the LB. On the right, we need to sort something out, as was shown against Bournemouth, Bellerin was fatigued and received very little cover. At present we often play Ramsey out of position on the right or Walcott who doesn't work hard enough to provide cover for the RB or we have Ox, who also isn't great at covering back, but I feel he could be trained in the art of covering his fullback.

05 Jan 2017 09:04:22
I never said we weren't bottlers mate I just said other teams are as well, that's why I think Chelsea will win the league.

This is on current form and how it's shaping up mate. And yes your correct on us only been slightly behind second.

I could also strongly disagree with Walcott not working hard enough! In the past yes but this season he has worked his socks off mate.

I tend to only put them in the oven for 45 minutes, keep on basting them every 15 minutes and lower temperature down to 140/ gas mark 4.

Nothing worse than well done Spuds :-)

I think Lucas Perez deserves a mention.

He has been a bit part player thus far, but understandable as it's his first season.

He has played approx 6 games and has 6 goals.

G62, what did I say about Perez? :- (

Believable1 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2017 22:15:28
I think we will struggle to fend off Real and Barcelona for him in the window that's for sure Dags mate :-)
He's doing ok mate he like the rest with the exception of Sanchez and Belerin has looked anything from poor to average as often as he's looked outstandingly brilliant mate.
Like Elney the man's a 100% but was they the right players of the right price?

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 22:48:07
G62,
I think if played he will continue to score goals.

(Perez, not you) πŸ˜ƒ.

I'm more than ready to find out Dags, I can't see how there's anything to lose by giving him an extenended run now mate.
We know all there is to know about Theo Ox and Iwobi that there is to know for now atleast.

It's the raver coming through flying his bobbies off in the Subaru to tell you boys that we are Chelsea's main threat to the league. R. G. You've gone quiet lately my boys are up to 3rd while you are looking at man Utd lol. You should be at the London palladium with iwobi better than dele alli lol, beep.

Believable3 Unbelievable1

04 Jan 2017 22:05:26
Raver we always go quiet in the winter but you lot go quiet in the summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 22:12:25
I don't apologise raver we needed a spuds win but I do apologise for the people on here about deli alli, they get a bit excited and talk nonsense sometimes just like some spuds. Lol.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Jan 2017 06:46:54
Oh dear raver the stalker is embarrassing himself again, premature as usual, remember last year? At last the toot have helped their superior North London neighbours. Despite drawing we have reigned a point in on Chelsea. I seem to remember Arsenal going one better than the toot when beating Chelsea 3-0, with Iwobi starring in a superb performance. Yes, I have changed by name to include your favourite number raver. 61! As we know the pain at the lane just goes on . 55 years and waiting.

Agree0 Disagree4

05 Jan 2017 10:53:16
We have more chance of winning the league than you as we have, a better side playing better football, your European embarrassment will go on forever lol. Watch out for man Utd you told me 2 weeks ago as you will end up 6 th, gone really quiet now spurs are 3 rd and you are looking at 6 th place. Couldn't even beat 10 man Bournemouth while the lane was bouncing with ATMOSPHERE as we strolled over Chelsea.

Agree2 Disagree1

04 Jan 2017 21:49:20

Part A)
If any team can beat Chelsea, it's Spurs.

Part B)
Dele Alli is quality.

04 Jan 2017 22:40:14
Had to be said spurs played with a game plan and even changed formation to match Chelsea.

Wenger needs to take note, but won't he still believes he is right and everyone else is wrong.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 21:14:57
I think we need consistency from from officials, it boggles my mind how the shove on Bellerin gets a free pass when Xhaka was penalised for the exact same thing. I've seen people here criticise Bellerin but that was a blatant foul to me .

Believable3 Unbelievable7

04 Jan 2017 21:26:42
Is that you arsene.

04 Jan 2017 21:31:01
My thoughts exactly but i didn't want to sound salty.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 21:35:29
Xhaka conceded penalty because he deliberately shoved the bloke in the back.
Not the sort of thing you should do in the penalty area as the ref is always going to give a pen.

But, agree with you on 2nd point, but Bellerin should have been stronger.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 22:20:55
It was same in city game mate! Iwobis goal was disallowed for offside in first half that would have put us 2-0 up and then they get away with the first goal that was identical and the second that was even worse.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 15:22:21
I called into question our lack of support for our full backs after the city game and I was told I was talking nonsense on here. Well guess what. It happened again last night with the first goal. Similar to Sterling goal at city. Another cross field pass. Bellerin was isolated and got sucked in to cover our centre back. What Ramsey were you looking at? What made you think there was no danger out wide? It's shocking bad. And again I have to say how you wouldn't see that at under 16 level.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2017 17:29:17
And when bellerin got muscled off the ball by being weak and hesitant, leading to them scoring, was that ramsays fault. Its all poor defending.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - both of them were at fault for me steve, bellerin was weak and ramsey could not be arsed covering even though he saw the danger mate..

04 Jan 2017 17:59:24
Ed defending is part of the game we fall down badly on.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Modern day footballers fall down a lot Steve.}

04 Jan 2017 18:08:16
For the first goal, Ramsey was still playing at no. 10, wasn't he? Pretty sure he started at no 10 and then dropped to a deeper lying CM role when Coquelin was sent off. The fault for the first goal surely lies with Bellerin and Iwobi, who started out on the right. Really not surprising he left his full-back exposed as it's what he's done almost all season - only on the left rather than the right.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 19:03:01
We have muppets in midfield who are thinking about counter attack when it would be a better idea just to win the ball back. I have to say Wenger has to be at fault. This type of neglect is down to him and him not making his players accountable.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 19:19:08
You could argue that with the penalty - where was the fullback and cover? Ended up Granit making a stupid yet soft challenge for the penalty. F-img Sky - obvious penalty and won't shut up about it but the bigger push on Bellerin -> poor defending -> F-Ing second rate biased commentators on a crap Tuesday night game.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 20:13:05
We have been conceeding far to many chances all season ironically against everyone but Chelsea, the only difference is teams have started taking more of them.
We haven't been in total control of many games this season we've just been out finishing teams until recently, even Ludo had a hat full of chances against us both home and away.
Champions nearly always if not always are difficult to break down and that isn't how we play 95% of our games and is why despite having some decent players and teams over the last decade we haven't been able to put in a single sustained challange.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 20:27:02
Sanchez has had about enough of Ramsey, seems like.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 20:48:21
I don't think singling out idviduals will get us anywhere, Ramsey doesn't look at it but consistently who has apart from Sanchez this season, maybe Belerin last night apart.
We have a lot of decent players and some very good players but we don't have a consistently good team and wethr we blame Monreal Giroud Ramsey Jenks or all the players who haven't been flavour of the moment over the last decade those individuals aren't the real reason we aren't competitive it's definitely a collective team problem and has been for many seasons now.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 20:57:41
Red, of ramsay seems like, was probably too many words in that sentence.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 21:13:14
I am not blaming Ramsey but at this stage it is Sanchez driving the bus and he has to find a way to support that and while we are at it - if the rest could get some of Sanchez hunger it would not matter if we win or lose because we would all be thrilled with the fight.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 22:50:17
Red mate when Sanchez first arrived his work rate and hunger stood head and shoulders above the rest and for a short time that season others did try to follow his example and raise their own efforts but the subconscious 4th place mentality that whether Arsene or anyone else like or not is there and has proved to strong for even Sanchez to replace.

Agree0 Disagree0

Has been a long time since I last posted something here but yesterdays result has made me creep out of my shell. It was a great comeback, however, we should never have been in a situation like this. It somehow is both, two points dropped and one salvaged. I think this conundrum can be seen in our players attitude, while Alexis was furious at the final whistle as well as druing the game, giroud celebrated his equaliser in absolutely ridiculous fashion. Do that after you score that goal against Palace and it would still be cringeworthy but at least justified. Do that when you just equalised and there's still time to push for the winner and you're not only making a fool of yourself but also hurt your team. He's been our hero in the final weeks and I rate him but for me he resembles what we really are lacking to push for the title. A winners mentality. Sure it's gotten better and in the past we might have given up and concided more. Southampton last season comes to mind.
I would love for Wenger to stay but he has to change something in the dressingroom or somebody else will. Winners like Alexis won't stay with us if they don't feel everybody is fully commited since he can only do so much. Forget the money convince him on the pitch.

I was screaming! Put the ball on the centre spot! Added time had already been allowed and the celebration was over a minute long! Oh well it could have been a 3 -0 drubbing.

04 Jan 2017 17:50:00
Slb, Giroud fancies himself, did u see the celebration, trying to copy mikatyrans goal, he nearly fell over.

04 Jan 2017 09:25:17
In relation to Chelsea possibly getting 8 points clear at the top with a win tonight against Sp*rs, has there ever been any seasons where a team has had a massive lead throughout and thrown it away?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Jan 2017 10:08:42
Yes us! I think we're only one of two clubs that has been top at xmas and not won the league! And I think we done that twice! I remember us being ten clear in rvp's last season.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Jan 2017 05:34:31
Granit Xhaka is a great player in my eyes and giving away a stupid penalty doesn't sway my mind one bit, cause that's all it was, a clumsy challenge that is no barometer to judge his quality.

He was poor for 60 minutes but so was everyone, once we got on the front foot he was a joy to watch spraying passes all over the pitch elegantly and getting us moving but the people who have an agenda against him won't see that.

I have no desire to defend his stupidity, but if what Xhaka did is a pen then how come the shove on Bellerin wasn't given? it is essentially the same challenge.

If Chelsea win then the title is gone and we'll duke it out for fourth place again.

Believable1 Unbelievable6

04 Jan 2017 09:20:09
Agree, clumsy but still a slightly harsh decision in my eyes. Football is so soft now.

Agree0 Disagree6

04 Jan 2017 13:18:35
The push in the back didn't help.

That's why the Ref gave it.

Agree5 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 13:57:32
I agree CMP, his performance in the first 60 was the worst i have seen. Luckily he still looked an absolute star as bellerin was on the pitch, but playing for Bournemouth for some reason. Your right though, he did pick up in the 2nd half and looked what he is, a good player. He needs to work on his corners through.

Agree0 Disagree4

04 Jan 2017 17:33:28
If any of you know anything about football, the great xhaka technically is abysmal at tackling he stands square to everything and dives in.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Jan 2017 05:33:04
Points from last night
1. No cover at RB for a fatigued Bellerin. Debuchy had fallen out with Wenger last season and Jenkinson wasn't good enough and should have been sold.
2. Elneny should have been used more in the lead up to his departure on international duty. His partnership with Xhaka looks promising.
3. Coquelin, yet another muscular injury to the squad. Something clearly still wrong with the conditioning of our players.
4. Wilshere's loan deal should have had a break clause, similar to Ake who can be brought back to Chelsea.
5. Giroud should have played more this season, with Sanchez back on the left Montreal has defensive cover, whilst Bellerin was horribly exposed with little cover.
6. Great to see Perez score, he is a quality player and needs to play.
7. If Chelsea don't win tonight then the damage of last night's result will be reduced. If they win it's over for us, we won't reign such a big lead.

Believable6 Unbelievable3

04 Jan 2017 00:34:38
That is why we will never win the league under wenger. No fight, no passion, terrible defending etc. If bournemouth can do this to us what do you think chelsea will dish out to us when we go to stamford bridge? Brace yourselves for the storm ahead, we will finish outside top four this season barring a miracle. spurs will beat chelsea tommorrow and overtake us on the table.

Believable2 Unbelievable2

04 Jan 2017 09:20:12
Coming back from 3 - 0 down takes a bit of passion and cajones shame we didn't start of like how we finished no way excusing the performance but in other seasons gone we would have been dead and buried hopefully ravers boys can hold Chelsea to a draw win win start again next weekend, let's try and stay positive COYG.

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Jan 2017 11:20:53
Going 3-0 down in that fashion is totally inexcusable. Even if we had gone on to win 4-3, the manner of the start of the game is not even amateurish, its unforgivable.

sorry typo and battery died was just saying even liverpool got beat after being 2 - 0 up just thought the season of old we would of lost from that position, however it was still an EMBERASSING performance.
The bournemouth fans were taking the mick singing can we play you every week. This is the mighty arsenal and boy oh boy atleast half those players don't even deserve to wear the shirt.
