Sky Italia reporting Arsenal are in talks with Partizan Blegrade to sign Aleksandar Mitrovic. Eds, have you heard anything? {Ed027's Note - Yes, we aim to strengthen our youths, as there has been so many departures

I'm just asking, so don't bite my head off, but do you guys think that Arsenal will actually spend a lot of money this summer?
It's all well and good with the board and Wenger saying that there's plenty of money to spend but hasn't that been the message every year?
I just don't see Arsne shelling out 20-30 million on Higuain or Jovetic

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think we will spend more than 5 mil withouth selling a big name. The clubs main ambition is to make money.

Agree0 Disagree0

Think we will make 3-4 major signings and I also think it could be Usmanovs money that will be spent.?

Agree0 Disagree0

Have a little faith

malaga gooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes I do. Purely for the fact that if another window goes by without significant investment, then it won't take long for the fans to call for everyone's heads. Wenger knows we're losing patience. He found that out last season. He can't risk going through that again, and he knows it.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

For now I am keeping an open mind-

purely because of the reports that this transfer window will be different. but like you, there is a big part of me that will believe it when I will see it-

you are right every season they say "there's loads of money"- sure they may spend 50mil (which they did for 2 seasons in a row), but sold for 50mil + as well!

Will this summer finally, finally be different? We will see.

Agree0 Disagree0

Who knows? We make a lot of noise about it but the thing is that the monies that are supposed! To be available is including the wages for any player we sign. So it's does not take a rocket scientist to work out that if we were to sign let's say 3 half decent players on an average wage today of £90000 a week for a 3 year contract each that's over 42 million on wages then you got there bonuses so on that basis you are looking at buying 3 players for a total of around £28 million for the three out of the supposedly £70 million in the kitty. Or the alternative is probably 1 really decent player and then back to the old we will make do for this season again and wind every one up until next season 2014/2015.

Agree0 Disagree0

Honestly, I feel we will be extremely disappointed this summer, purely because of Wenger, but I do believe there is a lot more pressure from all angles for him to spend, and if money doesn't get spent this summer then it really will be down to him.

IMO he's a hypocrite anyway. He'l; whinge no end about how money is ruining the game etc etc but he's taken a fortune off city in the last 4 years. Toure, Ade, Clichy, Nasri is almost £80m.

Agree0 Disagree0

I don't think Wenger gives a rats behind what we think, unfortunately he seems to be safe no matter what he does. Stan certainly only cares that the cash keeps coming. If you want significant investment pray for an Usmanov takeover.

Agree0 Disagree0

In regards to spending 28m on three players - you are including an additional 2 years of wages into your calculations. You have to remember that the money makes money weekly and this is then used to pay for wages of the playing staff and the non-playing staff. I would have thought that 70m would be for transfer fee, agents fee, signing on fee, medical fees etc etc but not the salaries and other recurring costs.

Koscielny saying he might leave if we don't win trophies. When tbh he cost us the Carling Cup a couple of years ago, in effect losing Van Persie, Fabregas and Nasri.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Are you kidding me? Winning the carling cup wouldn't have kept them 3.

Agree0 Disagree0

Its a team game, we shouldn't be drawing 1-1 to birmingham in the last minute anyway.

Agree0 Disagree0

And he was key in securing 4th for us this year.

Agree0 Disagree0

He didn't say he will leave if we don't win trophies. he said he would look elsewhere if the club don't show ambition in the transfer market. there is a difference. its up to the players to win the trophies but its up to the club's hierarchy to strengthen the squad. as far as I am concerned, he said what needed to be said.
HarrowGooner

Agree0 Disagree0

Ha ha if he played for someone else that might be in our favour as although he has had a better season than last we might see more of the ball from him seeing as he was always passing to the opposition.

Agree0 Disagree0

Some arsenal fans baffle me

arsenal fans "show some ambition"
koscielny " show some ambition
arsenal fans "wtf kos how dare you

and say he cost us a trophy is a bit ridiclous are you forgetting we are in the champions league because of his goal

Wouldnt be suprised to see Di maria turn up if bale. makes his madrid move. Available cheapish and pretty quick down the left. would also see it appeasing the fans somewhat. in truth see him being part of the bale deal though

Well done to Carlos Vela for making La Liga team of the season!

Agree0 Disagree0

What the hell has this got to to with Arsenal?

Well he´s a former Arsenal player with a buy back clause for Arsenal!

The fact that he is a former arsenal player is a valid reason for congratulation i'd say

Not so much as a rumour as a quoted fact. Higuain is interested in Arsenal. Eds, are Arsenal interested in Higuain? We should be. {Ed027's Note - I heard we are not, but we could/should be if we fail to get other targets, Grimandi hasn't said anything and hasn't been scouting him

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Sorry, it's not like we're talking Michu or Benteke, or Demba Cisse, relatively unknown players before they came to the prem - we're talking about one of the best forwards on the planet, and in terms of goals to shots ratio, the 3rd best in europe, behind only Messi and Cavani.

A decision like this does not need Grimandi's input at all! I would hope that for someone as good as Higuain, whether or not Grimandi has been scouting him is irrelevant.

Agree0 Disagree0

Heard Juventus were further down the line to sign him than Arsenal, again!

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree Cammy - he does make things interesting.

I just never believe a thing he types because to my recollection the only time he has been accurate with a post is when he "announces" a deal that has been on Arsenal.com for a week or so!

Agree0 Disagree0

He doesn't make this site interesting he dilutes it with his garbage. He's got a 0% success rate in guessing transfers.

can anyone seriously see rooney in an arsenal shirt?/ I mean come on its almost as if the media just wants to laugh behind our backs I just can't see it happening out of ten I think there's a 0. 3333333333333 chance of it happening.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Agreed up until the last two 3s, but then you went stupid :-)
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney would be a top signing for us. Younger than RVP, not made of glass, just as capable of winning a game on his own at any level and a real statement of intent. Rooneys just gone stale at united and needs a new challenge and at 27 is a great time to do it. Wages aren't an issue. If we just dispose of the usual suspects we could free up £500k a week easily. Signing Rooney would mean an English core at Arsenal for the first time since the glory years of 98_05. Jenkinson, Gibbs, Chamberlain, Wilshere, Walcott, Rooney. I like the look of that.

Agree0 Disagree0

We don't need him for what? Look where he is since RVP has been there? If he got any further down the line he would be a steward. Ha ha We don't want the little bald scouser.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with Drakey (mostly). He would be a great signing, good English core and he has gone a bit stale. Good for England team too to have Ox, Walcott, Rooney and Jack in same team. Negative points though:

1) Although we can afford 200k wages, if we give it to him its then a slippery slope and everyone else will want a pay rise. I think we just about justify about 140k max given theo is on 100k and players like Pod on 80k (what is he on?).

2) I don't like him as a person (but I never really liked Nasri or RVP either)
3) His dive against us to get a penalty when Sol didn't touch him.

Ed, what are the chances of Cesc coming home? Is there anything too these rumours or is it just false speculation? {Ed027's Note - Small, look at how he left

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Not having a dig just wondering why Arsenal would put a buy back clause in his contract and why has Wenger said (on more than one occasion) he thinks Cesc will one day rejoin Arsenal? I Just don't see this ill feeling between him and Arsenal that some say there is.

hi Ed's what's the chances of Kos leaving to go to Bayern? Wenger said something along the lines of it was a relief knowing that none of our best players would be leaving but if Bayern come calling I can see Kos wanting to go to arguably the best team in Europe. {Ed027's Note - Small, Bayern would have to cough up 20-30m, Kos is happy

Believable0 Unbelievable0

They can have for that price! As long as we reinvest.

Question for EDs:
There is so much talk of a new striker coming in (which will happen), with the likes of Higuain, Jovetic, Rooney (ha) and Benteke being mentioned. I wanted to ask, leaving being realistic aside, whether you think Javier Hernandez would be a better option than all the aforementioned names. He's got pace to burn, is a lethal finisher, is great playing off the last defender and has slipped down the pecking order at United.
Thoughts? {Ed027's Note - I think Hernandez would be perfect, one of the few players I like from Utd, but chances of signing him are very slim, it's utd and he's not rooney

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'd love to see him at Arsenal classy player great finisher

Ed, when will Wellington Silva get his work permit? I think he would be a great addition to the squad. We need a dribbler to take players on {Ed027's Note - Not sure mate, not sure we want him to at the moment he is a right piece of work

Hi eds
How many players do you honestly see us buying? {Ed027's Note - 4 first team players, maybe 5 (not inc Sanogo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ed, would that be these following positions and maybe players:

A Keeper (Cesar)
A Center Back (Williams)
A Holding Midfielder (Gonalons Or Wanyama)
A Striker (Jovetic)

And If 5. A CAM (Grenier)

Cheers {Ed027's Note - Maybe, Cesar is looking good, Williams is rumours but strong ones, we will sign a holding mid and those 2 are of interest, Jovetic will depend on Juve

Arsenal have finished top of the Fair Play League for 2012/13.
To promote positive behaviour, the Football Association established a Fair Play competition, with all Premier League matches being assessed by delegates.
Teams are assessed in five categories, with a further category relating to the behaviour of the public. The five categories are:
red and yellow cards
positive play (e. g. attacking intent, speeding up the game, no timewasting)
respect towards opponents
respect towards the referee
behaviour of the team officials.
The funding for the awards is provided by the FA Charity Committee and Arsenal will be awarded £30,000 that can be used towards its community or youth projects.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Should be worth more money IMO as it would make clubs support it more

This season looks to be a vital one for a few of the squad players, youngsters who probably need to break into the team or atleast cement their place on the bench, I`m thinking;

Coquelin
Chamberlain
Jenkinson
Miquel
Gnarby
Eisfield
Afobe
Akpom

A few of these will inevitably be loaned out (probably Gnarby, Afobe, Akpom & Eisfield) but for Coquelin and Chamberlain in particular, with Ramsay looking less than AFC standard every day and the long term injury to Diaby, both these should be looking to edge that spot alongside Arteta. Factor in 1 or 2 recruits, the competition for places in the holding positions is very healthy.

Personally I`d like to see Chamberlain given a run alongside Arteta. He is an exciting player, runs extremely well with the ball, beats players and compensates Artetas natural positioning of a deep lying central midfielder. Coquelin is still a little lightweight but I`d hate to see him loaned out/sold or even left on the bench all season. With more youngsters coming into the squad (Sanogo the first so far) its even more important that Coquelin doesn't get overtaken even more than he is now.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Ramsey has been decent

Agree0 Disagree0

. Aoc. Wilshere. Cazorla

Agree0 Disagree0

You don't see the eventual successor to Arteta being Ramsey? if anything Ramsey will surpass Arteta in a few years to come, imo one of the best potential CM in the premier league
one of the dark horses of midfield the same way Arteta is a dark horse

also Chambo will play in midfield but not alongside Arteta, more of an AM or SS/Winger that's where he's best

"There have already been offers and I hope that Madrid do the best for me and themselves. "

"Arsenal? They would suit me, I’m still young and I have goals. "

"There are many possibilities. I want to go to a league where I’ll be put to the test. "

-Gonzalo Higuiain

Some more encouraging news, not exactly a 'come and get me' plea, but encouraging nonetheless.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lets come and get him! I would just loooove it!

Aros

Agree0 Disagree0

Whilst I don't rate Higuain as much as some others do, I do think the qualities he has would raise us another level. I think his main attributes are his strength and finishing. I don't really see a player who will run at defences too much (Walcott) nor drop deep and unselfishly be a supply line (Giroud) but at corners, at crosses and in games where a physical presence and cutting edge is required, he would be perfect.

Agree0 Disagree0

Isn't that what we need though. If you play him with giroud he can drop back and cover in mid and during set pieces whilst higuiain waits for the break or long ball. Giroud can run and feed higuian and vise versa. Or play with Walcott. Higuian is used to playing with Ronaldo so he's used to fast pace. Think him and Walcott would work quite well together.

Is there any truth in this anyways Edds?

Koscielny to Eurosport "I feel good at Arsenal, if we have ambition to fight against the other teams of course I want to stay here. But if it's to do the same season than the last one, it's mentally very hard because we're always under pressure. I hope the club will show ambition, if not I'll leave. Maybe I'll want to know another league, I wouldn't leave anywhere. Paris I don't know, I don't have contacts with them".

So let's see when your season ends this year, it will be when Wenger states that, Arsenals main aim is to qualify for the 20 14-20 15 Champions League, like the last 8 seasons he sees that as success, not trophies and the glory that goes with them, no trophies next season and Wenger has to go, he should have gone this time when the top 3 other teams have changed managers, then you would have a chance of a tropy, wath your backs the spurs are coming, and i'm not a spud. FACE THE TRUTH.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

, I expect a lot more messages like this on the Arsenal page. With our form at the end of last season, Wenger willing to make major investment, the managerial shifts around the top teams, and the proof that money doesn't necessarily buy you trophies, we are MUCH more of a threat now.

The other teams are scared and are going to try to talk us down, but nonsense like this proves that we might well be on the rise.

Thanks for the encouragement!

Wayne Rooney will give serious consideration to a move to Arsenal this summer if they can match his salary demands, a web site understands.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

But we won't! And by the way I hope that the spoiled united kid ****s off to france and earn som crazy taxfree wages and so he can buy more hairtransplants. Goddammit, I can't stand the thought of Rooney in an arsenal kit, it's revolting.

/aros

Agree0 Disagree0

Why Aros? Personally I bite your arm off to take him. He is still world class. Much as I hate to admit it.

He'd be a huge boost to the club both on and off the field. It'd be a real spur on for our young English players to have Rooney alongside them. He'd be an excellent signing. Even just taking into account his ability on the pitch.

Agree0 Disagree0

While I'll amit he's a pretty decent player I just can't stand the sight off him. he behaves like a brat and I really dislike united. Really.

For me it's kinda like Drogba (even though he's quite awesome off the pitch, rooney isn't). Sure he was a great footballer, but he played for our rivals and scored goals against us, so I simply can't imagine singing his name. I know i'm being bias here, but that's the way I feel. (Btw I can live without the i-want-to-leave drama rooney comes up with every times he wants a pay-rise)

Agree0 Disagree0

Oh, and that was Aros, forgetting to Write his own name, btw. Sorry

/Aros

Agree0 Disagree0

Rooney and Walcott play awesome together for England and if we had Rooney in the team he would bring so much experience and the extra goals we need. If van Persie had stayed this season then stats show that we would have won the title. That's how close it is. Now we've sorted out our defence and midfield we need that world class striker and Rooney or higuain is that player. Forget jovetic he isn't any good and just another chamakh. Wenger we need world class so just pay the damn wages!!

Agree0 Disagree0

Lets settle for Higuain then. He's fuc'ing class!

Regarding this cesc transfer.

Every other guy says that he is not leaving barca and xavi is getting old. One thing everyone needs to remember is that they have a player like thiago sitting aswell. Also as per my views thiago is better suited to take over from xavi than cesc just because of their playing style thiago is more like tika-tika and cesc more of a final ball player.

Also people say that he has played so many games last year. But then when you see the position that he has played is very advanced and now neymer would play there. Cesc played 32 games and was subbed off in 16 off those. Now he would want more playing time with the world cup coming soon.

I know the chances are less that he would move to arsenal this season but they are not as slim as many think they are.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I don't think Fabregas will leave Barca this summer, with the purchase of a proper #9 and their midfield looking a bit jaded at times last season, it makes perfect sense Cesc would get even more playing time next season in his favoured position.

If we could capture the energy that will no doubt be put into the predictable guffawing that will occur, and ply that into the nation grid. Then we could provide enough electricity to supply Blackpool illuminations for the year.

Im absolutely loving the fact Koscielny has come out and said that he can see himself playing in another league, if arsenal don't show ambition in the summer transfer window. Its a slap in the face to Arsenal FC (not the fans) that tells them they will continue to lose their best players if they continue to put their money in a safety deposit box and then throw away the key.

Could you see koscielny at barca or bayern munich? I could - he is good enough for them. Are Arsenal good enough to buy players off barca or bayern? Maybe. but only the players they no longer want.

Here's hoping Arsenal put some cash on display very soon.

listen again this is real:

(hey soccer fans. arsenal wenger is plotting a major psychological transfer of his time which will not only bring man united, man city and chelsea but will bring the likes of barcelona, beryern and real madrid to their knees. inspired by defeating european champions at their home ground, arsenal have not lost any game since then and intends not to lose any game in the near future. this is the time he was waiting for while others bought players, he kept his money. he has more money than what he is revealing for transfer.

how will this be possible? watch his (manager arsene wengers) transfers. he is one of the greatest coaches in europe and he will do it. he is preparing for a major upset in european soccer

please some of you did not believe me on the above post. i have reliable sources. have you hard about the most recent updates on arsenal transfers? some said my info had no source. you must apologies for your comment because i know what iam talking about. when jose morinho is coming back at the bridge wenger knows what time it is. he can't sleep any more or he will be crashed by the top three clubs in the premier league. let me know your thoughts. the best thing which has happened for arsenal in this window is the coming back of jose at the bridge. this forces manager arsene wenger sign strong prayers bse he knows what is coming his way. remember to like us on . we have more coments there. www.communityoutreachvolunteers. org.

I'm not going to apologize because I have absolutely no idea what you are on about. And you don't have a source, and your 'updates' have about as much credibility anyone else's.

Agree0 Disagree0

So far we have signed no one so your original "rumour" means nothing. It is also extremely vague. Arsenal will sign a "major psychological transfer". What does that mean? Rooney/Higuain/Jovetic/Fabregas?

This is just my opinion. so don't freak out, but I think the Michu story might have some legs. He is such a typical Wenger signing it's ridiculous, and with Fiorentina coming out and saying Jovetic won't be sold, and Villa saying he wants to stay in Spain. this all of a sudden makes perfect sense! Wouldn't be a bad addition either in my humble opinion.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Villa hasn't said he wants to stay in Spain. He said he's concentrating on the national until after the confederations cup and then will give consideration to where his next move will be or whether to stay at Barca.

Guys - for your own sakes, don't get too wrapped in the Higuain speculation / manage expectations.

The odds of this signing are tiny. Juve comfortable in the lead, and much richer teams are in the market for strikers.

Think less known and under-rated/under-valued.

I'd love to see more of walcott upfront next season, I'd rather get some real wingers to give him giroud and poldi decent support. Schurrle or Honda (or both) would be fantastic IMO. By the way Eddie I hope you read my answer it disappeared quickly. Stan

Eds, or anyone else for that matter, does anyone know if we've shown any interest in Jackson Martinez? In my opinion he'd be the perfect signing for us up front. I know that the spurs have shown interest recently but I think we should try and jump in.

i see on tv that sagna has confirmed talks over a new contract.
what do you guys think of that? I thought we would have cashed in on him

gooner mark

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Surprised, but I've also thought if we were going to let him go he wouldn't have walked back into the team so easily every time he came back for injury.
If Wenger had it in his head to go with Jenks he would have played more this season and kept his place

Rumours of Kos the Boss to Bayern are resurfacing. What are people's prices?

Personally I wouldn't let him leave for less than £30m - I rate him that highly, Even that amount I would have to have a long think about it.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Get this selling mentality out of your head. It's not a question of name your price. Top European clubs do not sell their best central defender when price is the only consideration.

Paul

Agree0 Disagree0

Yea i'd say he's worth 25-30. be gutted if he left tho. thought all this players leaving rubbish was behind us!

Agree0 Disagree0

It all depends.

For me with his extended contract, only a crazy sum like 2x3 times his initial purchase value will result in us selling him.

I think bayern are going to be looking to buy a expensive forward, and i'm not thinking Lewandowski but rather Suarez.

and then it remains to be seen if they will be willing to santion another 30 odd million move for Kos, rather unlikely.

Im calling it:

suarez to Bayern
Cavani to City
Lewandowski to United
Higuain to Chelsea
Jovetic to Juventus
Rooney to PSG
Gomez to Napoli (as is being reported)
Aguero to Madrid

Agree0 Disagree0

Love Kos. He is immense for us.

He is replaceable tho. £15m isn't enough to part with him. 22m and up would make the decision easier.

Subotic, Ogbonna, N'Kolou are all names that could fill that void.

Don't get me wrong tho, I want Kos in that back 4 next season.

Agree0 Disagree0

I wouldn't let him leave for any price, not even £50m.

This is the first time in a long time i've been happy at our defence, and if we want to progress we cannot sell.

Agree0 Disagree0

Kos wants to stay at arsenal.

He as already rejected Barca in favour of staying and hoping that we show some ambition.

SO we will see. give him a ayear.

Agree0 Disagree0

Let's be realistic - in the current market, 30m would be a good valuation of Kosc; a transfer at this amount would make him roughly the 4th most expensive defender of all time. £30m would also be good value for a buyer, given €25m Luiz and €30m Pepe. But I still would not take it.

Statistically, we have our best defence in 5 years. But to me it looks like more than that - there is unity, strength and organisation. Gallas, Toure, Clichy etc were good players, but you never really got the impression of a solid unit (even if our defensive stats circa 2006-09 aren't too bad compared with recent years). Much thanks must go to Bould, but we would lose our solidity without Koscielny: he is the lynchpin of our defence, particularly given his new partnership with Mertesacker. I genuinely think he is core to our chances of winning anything next year.

So yes, he is probably worth 30m in the current market, but worth a lot more to us. I don't think anyone could replace him right now.

Oleg Maputo

Agree0 Disagree0

Paul was right, we don't sell our best players no matter teh price. If we carry on doing that we do 2 things; Strengthen the opposition and Weaken our own team.

Tragically, the current ownership and board (and Manager?) seem to only want to see a healthy profit and not a healthy trophy cabinet. Too much trust is put in Wengers lap that by buying young players with talent who then turn into world class players, AFC will dominate European football. This would be the case if these young players weren't sold the minute they flourished into a sellable commodity. /sigh

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't get me wrong I don't want to sell him for any money. But £30m would make me think - I could go and get Hummels and Gonalons for that money. There is no problem selling players if it is on our own terms.

Yep, hopefully he`ll be given a run alongside Arteta at some point and show his best position is central midfield, as he believes.

Just posting what I know about the Fabregas situation:

He is demanding games considering the up coming World Cup. Tito has told him he's not in his plans as far as a starting XI goes, it looks like Neymar & Messi will be the attacking options.
Fabregas will only leave Barcelona to move to London as his baby daughter lives there with her mother.
Barcelona do still owe Arsenal just under £10m from previous deals and if another club makes an offer, we have to say no to him first at £25m.
The gossip seems to have died down, but cesc will have more talks with management and if he demands a move then it will be to Arsenal.

Paul

Believable0 Unbelievable0

He played 47 times for barca how much more playing time does he want. He's not coming xavi is getting older its coming up to that time where he will start replacing him but if he can't fill his boots then I see him coming back.

SM1996

Agree0 Disagree0

Very unlikely this year.

Barcelona need to buy only a defender, with Valdez ready to see out his contract.

Adil rami is what I am reading.

Agree0 Disagree0

Cesc only willing to move to London as his baby is there is a load of rubbish. Manchester is a lot nearer to London than Barcelona is. Cesc may not want to move to Manchester United as that would make him scumier than RVP but it is nothing to do with his kid.

Agree0 Disagree0

Half way through the season Tito changed his style and Cesc wasn't starting, he certainly won't next season and that's his concern

morning all

i would like to talk about the clubs chance of doing something next season.

over the last 8 year I think we are all in agreement that we have only ever been 3-4 players away from giving the big boys a run for their money.

i am for 1st time in a long time really excited about next season.

the club will buy top quality players in this window and we will go into the season with confidence which will be the difference with us winning something.

we go up against the top 3 teams who all have new managers and I believe wenger will have the upper hand against them all.
i am not worried about mourinho, moyes and pellagrini, I wonder which 1 of them will get the sack 1st.

NEXT SEASON WILL BE OUR TURN TO SHINE.

good to see a lot of old posters coming back.

wheres ike and ezdee

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I was thinking the same thing in regards to the other 3 managers, they all have to get the team to adapt to their style of play etc. I also agree it could be our time to win something finally, hopefully we can keep the squad we have add 2 or 3 good players and carry our good form into next season. this is the first time in ages I am confident we will win something lol

Agree0 Disagree0

I'm still here MG, just not as excited as you are about this transfer window. Not when I keep hearing these Cesar rumors resurfacing when we clearly need a new long term number one keeper because Shezza is just not good enough. Makes me think Wenger wil never change, but its early still so I will stay quiet and see what Le prof does with all this money at his disposal.

The drip feed of rumour continues about Wayne Rooney. He will be our marquee signing this year alongside a box to box midfielder.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Would be great if we could get rooney. not only will it be good for arsenal but good for england too (im not english/british btw)

Im not sure about rooney after the age of 30, but his presence in our lineup would be immense. we create soo many chances, we just need someone clinical to finish it.

If we get rooney, and keep our core, I am that certain that we can win the title, while adding only one player.

having characters like wilshere, rooney, ox can only be good for morale and determination during games.

also would add more to the games against united.

Cesar and Williams are now in talks with Arsenal with both agreeing personal terms.
It is now agreeing the valuation of both players with there clubs.

However are these players really what we want to move forward.
Or are they just squad players.

Not the signings I was expecting for us to challenge for silverware.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes actually. Cesar is a step-up on Shez and Williams will provide us with four (if TV5 gets back to good form) CBs that will allow us cover when one is injured/rested. Allows for good rotation should it be needed and no more instances of Sagna playing CB or SOng playing CB scenarios.

Rumours circulating about Michu. What are your thoughts? Would you rather have him over others like Rooney?

Personally, Rooney in an Arsenal shirt would just feel wrong however good he is.

Crawf

Believable0 Unbelievable0

If he comes and has a first season like RVP has had at UTD we wouldn't even think about it.

1404

Agree0 Disagree0

Crazy! Rooney in an Arsenal shirt would mean we are moving in the right direction. By signing Rooney it would show the fans and other players around the world that we mean business and hopefully make them more keen to join us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Personally I don't know if it will be a good move for Arsenal. Sure the guy had a great first season at Swansea but the BIG question is whether he could repeat the same form next season whether at Swansea or other club. Remember also that his form dropped significantly in the 2nd half of the season. So I'd rather go for Higuain (God I hope we can sign him) or other already established strikers.

I really hope that Fabregas comes back to Arsenal in the next couple years before he gets out of his prime

Fabregas, Higuain, and Bender/Wanyama/Gonalons would do work for us. I know I'm dreaming but it's not too far off

With Schwarzer and Danny Simpsons contracts up this summer do you think Wenger will sign these as cover and spend more affluently on the CDM and ST reinforcement?

We're linked with Michu this morning apparently; as he signed an extension how much do you reckon it'd cost for him?

EMG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think the michu thing is more like an inquiry from a list of players they are interested in if they need a fallback option.

maybe option 3 or 4 if our interest goes

1) rooney
2) higuain
3) Jovetic
4) michu?

just thinking out loud

attention!

this is a well scrutinized list of available and affordable players in this transfer window that i believe arsenal need and will greatly contribute into a very successful and even possible prem / champs league winning arsenal squad ;

1, mignolet (£11 mill) the belgian int has proven to have a commanding presence between the post with an incomparable team to arsenal like sunderland, already adapted into the prem and if not 1st choice will bring competition to scezney and fabianski. he obviously can't denny such an arsenal offer.

2, alderweireld (£18 mill) this young versatile can play in all 4 back position, good on the ball, eye for a pass ajax talented cb is a regular player of the new dutch champions who if signed i believed will add to cb matska, kocslne and vamalan for a solid set of 4 cbs. arsenal can't miss him with that offer

3, fellaini (£18 mill) a no stranger to us, hard working box to box powerful on air midfielder, would have come for a cheaper price last season if i'd being listen to' as he was on my last season pick on here. arsenal need such player for those physical fixtures, needs a bit of coaching and ideal positioning. arsenal are massive club enough to nick him no matter.

4, de guzman (£10 mill) an unearthed promising dutch talent need him to free players like garvinio, diaby, arshavin etc. total waist. that price should be more than enough to nick him from his very much involved swansea side that beat arsenal last season.

5, michu (£15 mill) wake up arsenal a fantastic striker with bundles of ideal arsenal striker qualities his stats speaks for itself. again very much involved in the swansea side that beat us last season. also believe will love playing for us, having seen those antics of his when playing against us. whatever price he may cost us am sure £15mil will see him over.

including those three i mention arsenal must waver to djerou squilachy, manone, santos etc.

wake up arsenal!

for those who think arsenal need those only god knows players i say you've been arsenal biggest problem because you keep wishing to bring player s we know will have to take a couple seasons to adapt to the league and in the end get rot as they always do.

attention!

so if you wanna have a jovitic, sahko, williams, or humills, pizteck you never going to get from champ league finalist b dortmond, please don't click agree / disagree on this, as i believe teams and managers also listen to their fans, and 1 place to listen to us is on here. equals another year we get to lose sagna / vamalan and bring i and garbage.

but if you are an arsenal fan who knows our team's current circumstance, knows football please do a deep research before
clicking agree / disagree!

thanks

You are deluded if you think team would win the league and Champion's League. Michu played well for half a season, and Alderweireld is one of the most overrated defenders in football.
