I feel QPR will go down. If so Austin is perfect for Newcastle.

Leicester are gone too

Newcastle? Why you letting them have him, I thought he would have been perfect as you 17th striker in the Derby MX1 :-) sorry mate couldn't resist :-)

Interesting stat.

Because we beat QPR tonight, we are mathematically safe from relegation.

Didn't expect that did you? Lol

Just watching the highlights of the West Ham game tonight. Yet another solid performance from Jenkinson. I really feel we have to keep hold of him, even with the other options we have there

04 Mar 2015 21:54:38
I thought we played really well in the 2nd half, the only poor performance was gibbs, though Merts Bellerin and Coqeulin were quite brilliant.

Believable0 Unbelievable2

04 Mar 2015 22:28:10
The first half we was poor, we came out a lot stronger in the second half, we should of had a pen for the foul on ozil, and need to stop allowing teams a way back into the game.

I didn't think gibbs was poor, but could of done better for the goal, same as kos.

Bellerin looks brilliant at both ends of the pitch, I'd like to see him played on the wing when debuchy is back.

Agree1 Disagree1

04 Mar 2015 22:35:54
Purely statistical, but WhoScored rated Gibbs the highest on the pitch.

But as I said, it's based purely on stats, so it may not reflect his performance.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 21:50:44
Good win, shame all the top teams also won. Hope Gabriel is ok. Great to see Giroud scoring again and Sanchez as well.
Next, United in the cup. I can see us getting a draw and bringing them back to The Emirates.

04 Mar 2015 21:49:08
Mesut that was a motm performance, played an absolute blinder, didn't stop running, always wanting the ball, tracked back with players, some clever passes and was unlucky to grab a goal

well done lad

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 20:46:04
Pretty good game so far. Qpr making it hard for us to play and at times its a bit scrappy. We came into a lot more as the half wore on and at the end they seemed to run out of ideas when getting pegged back more and more. Think bellerin is having a great game, Ozil is doing some great things also, think we need to get Giroud involved more and hopefully Sanchez can break free a little more. Here's to a successful second half.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 20:37:35
Playing well again!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 20:34:30
Typical Arsenal!

Gabriel can't even make three full appearances before picking up an injury!

I think there is something seriously wrong with our training staff.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

04 Mar 2015 20:23:16
taking Gabriel off so early in this game had better be a precaution. Would have been good to rest Koscielny tonight and play the two of them as the CB pairing on Monday. Let's hope we still get to play both, even if Kos doesn't get the ideal rest

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 20:15:13
I think Ozil's been reading a lot of your comments. He looks well up for it tonight.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 21:18:58
He's been our best player behind bellerin.

04 Mar 2015 20:12:15
Why no Walcott again

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 20:00:43
Arsene Wenger is so frustrating!!

What is with his aversion to starting Theo or the Ox and having two proper wingers?! Surely Theo isn't still that far away from being fully match fit, Ox is just back but both appearances he's made, he's shown the form he was in before we lost him.

Any other manager on the planted would start with two wingers to give us more pace and width. It would produce more from Ozil and Giroud for sure.

But no Arsene, you keep screwing with the cohesion of the team, overlooking the basic fundamentals of a squad setup seems to be your new thing.

Believable0 Unbelievable3

04 Mar 2015 19:44:32
Am I missing something with Ozil? He's been good since his return and was voted our Player of the Month for February.

Why do a lot of you want to drop him?

Believable5 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 17:49:18
Ed,

Just wondering about some of the players available on free transfers. I know you've already commented on Khedira, but is there any likelihood of seeing us swoop for Schar, Reid, De Jong, Milner?

Fingers crossed.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I have dealt with all of these before - use the search engine.}

04 Mar 2015 18:56:44
No kos :(

04 Mar 2015 19:06:33
No width either DG :(

Bit worrying

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 19:34:12
Unless Santi and Alexis are pushed out wide but I agree there could be a pattern of everyone coming in centrally to get the all.

Hopefully Ozil will pull wide if that's the case, I assume Coq and Rosicky are central midfield which I am happy with.

Will depend on us getting chalk on our boots or not - have the players learned and listened?

Come on you Gunners!

04 Mar 2015 19:35:55

To all you Ozil bashers out there, who thinking we should sell him and put in a £40m + £1 bid for Coutinhio..

Win rate while Ozil was injured - 53%
Win rate since Ozil played again after injury - 85%

Now, that stat doesn't lie. Nothing to do with lucky assiss, Kilometers covered, slowing out game down.. All that nonsense.

The fact is, we win more games with Ozil, than without.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 18:38:15
Liverpool are on a mad run. They only win 43 percent without coutinho. Be good to see who shines later. Form team in prem is Liverpool. Cue a burnley win lol

04 Mar 2015 16:58:07
All the reports I have read over the last few days say he is on his way along with Flamini and Arteta at the end of the season.

That if it happens will be good with me. There is no place for sentimentality and any of them in next seasons squad IMO.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 18:10:48
I don't believe we will see Abou Diaby play for Arsenal again. He has been out since November with a calf strain! I have a feeling he will retire at the end of his contract and in the meantime, as he is 'injured', the insurance will be paying his wages.
I haven't seen him in any of th training photos on the Arsenal site, so even if he did emerge, he would need a pre-season of a few weeks.
It's a shame, as he was a great talent, before his career was halted by a dreadful challenge from a Sunderland player, who I now believe is a postman.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 12:23:20
Stat of the day.

DDG has received the most back passes from team mates in the Prem (442).

In comparison, we have made fewer back passes in Prem (261).

Interesting me thinks.

Anyone seen sanchez form interms of ozil return etc.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2015 08:57:56
Yep, gone downhill faster than Ed025 on a skateboard.

He doesn't seem to have recovered from his injury.
Plus, he's probably knackered.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 09:22:16
It was inevitably his form would dip as maintaining his very high level brilliance and unbelievable work rate over an entire season was always a very big ask and in his first season that much tougher.
He almost single handedly kept us in touch of top four in the first half of the season ( OK maybe not single handed, but it did seem it at times) and its others turns to carry the weight for a bit now.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 09:54:51
its just that he has been knackered, has nothing to do with Ozil return, stop stupid conspiracy theories

04 Mar 2015 11:10:44
I think Giroud doesn't score enough goals because the bloke who sells programmes outside the North Bank shouts too loud.

Just a thought.

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 11:11:19
he's not been part of my fantasy league for the last 7 games, explains it all.

having ndoye and berahinho and giroud shows that they read my posts.

as long as we win today i don't care if we don't play any of our top 11 players.

Agree2 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 11:13:42
i duno i stil say sanchez is best off as our number 10. but if cazorla is fit id play him there and sanchez wide.

i just feel ozil slows us down and demands the ball to feet. but for me id rather have sanchez on the ball.

im setting myself up for a fail later when ozil bags hatrick lol

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 12:13:43
Would drop Ozil and have Giroud/Sanchez/Walcott because I think QPR will scrap and fight like a tankful of hungry Piranha's.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 12:39:55
No wallcott, i don't think wallcott is going to be anywhere near the first team, from wenger latest comments, when you have the ball you attack, and when you don't you have to defend. Wallcott does neither.

Agree2 Disagree1

04 Mar 2015 13:33:40
Hood,

If fit of course, Walcott offers more tracking back than Ozil.

I think the key is Coquelin.
He has to stay disciplined and patrol left to right in front of back 4 and not go forward too much, leave that to Caz or Rambo.

Agree1 Disagree2

04 Mar 2015 15:40:14
Are u serious more tracking back than ozil? Sorry but your watching a different game dags, ozil may not want to tackle but atleast runs and gets close to the player, wallcott on the other hand just looks like he doesn't wanna play anymore. Sorry but this is what i see

Agree1 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 16:30:41
Maybe your hoods round the wrong way? :-) Theo definately puts more effort in than ozil, and scares the life out of defenders!

They are very different players and suited to different games, the problem is AW hasn't worked it out yet

Agree0 Disagree1

04 Mar 2015 17:10:59
I've got to agree with Robin Hood here...

Theo hardly ever tracks back or tracks his man or even puts pressure on a player, he usually stands there strutting on the wing waiting for us to get possession back n then he comes alive (watch him closely) saying this no doubt he'll run round like a headless chicken tonight lol

:)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 17:46:33
im sorry but what the hell! theo is one of our most lethal weapons. jegooner the other day you said ozil shouldn't have to defend but should save himslf for attacking, while i don't think that should apply to anyone, i would want theo to save his energy more than ozil so he can hit them hard on the break.but i like them boyh personally i think theo and ozil are perfectly suited to playing together, theo running on to ozils through balls, shame because of injuries they haven't had much chance to link up but i hope they are given game time together

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 18:34:12
Eden...

I'm which part of my post did I say I WANTED him to defend?
I was just agreeing with hoods point (Theo doesn't defend)

I'm the kind of guy that wants my attackers to attack n my defenders to defend, I want the attackers to defend to a point as in defend from the front (put opposition under pressure) ala barca...

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 18:50:48
I completely agree with you about Theo n Ozil playing together, on paper that's a match made in heaven, we've missed Theo's goal contribution n the clever runs in behind, I hope we see the pair of them tonight too

Fingers crossed :)

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2015 21:46:48
sorry jegooner, i misread, i thought you didn't want ozil to defend but were blasting theo for the same thing. i'm with you on that, i wish they could both press a bit better and hope they get a chance to shine together in attack soon :)
