I would personally like Arsene to come out and do Fergie and announce he will be calling it a day as Arsenal manager this summer asap especially if we lose tomorrow as this would immediately stop the discontent and all could unite behind him for the remainder of this season no matter what happens at Hull or in any other game between now and May.
The last thing I want to see is protests boos and worst of all some silly group of fans hire a plane with a banner flying behind it.

Purely out of respect, whilst things are not going great, I think we should give the guy until end of the season until we hound him out.

10 games to go, 6 points behind but 30 points up for grabs.

Maybe, just maybe, in half a dozen games down the line, we maybe singing his praises.

He has stuck by us for 20 years, through thick and thin, good and bad, well over 1000 league games.

Don't we owe him another 10?

I'm not thinking for a minute that'll happen 62 but I've been wrong before, every chance he'll walk at the end of the season if things go how they look right now.

Just don't think he'd do it mid term.

Patience mate. Everything comes to he who waits. :-)

Hi all, Can anyone help with some info on certain players various clubs are allegedly after. My own team LFC are always chasing some bloke called Mark Keye but I've never seen him play. Yourselves seem keen on Baxter Basics but a search found nothing. At old trafford LVG goes on about Phil Osophy yet I've yet to see him kick a ball. City and Chealsea are apparently chasing Hugh G Signing but he wants massive wages. Any info would be appreciated.

Redal, I appreciate you were born at an early age and walk with your feet close to the ground but you've got a long way to go yet to live up to Dags.

Look, any time your passing keep on going or otherwise give us a ring when you've got less time and whilst you're here, speaking as an outsider, what are your thoughts on the human race? ;-)

Maybe the team has no confidence because our manager speaks with no confidence. Can he for once come out and say this is a big game and we are going to win it. Our players will step up and play with heart and desire.

No instead he says well i don't want to think about the title, maybe we are a bit low on confidence, the fans are not dissapointed and maybe we suck right now.
Arsene just doesn't seem to to be able to motivate right now. I am glad Alexis said what he did, someone needs to. They lack hunger and lack the balls to win games right now.

I am hopeful we step up our game and play to our potential if that happens we win the game. There should be no doubt if these guys play with passion and heart we have the talent. There are no more excuses like that was a foul or that goal was offside, we hit the bar three times, blah blah blah how about we don't want it enough and we weren't good enough.
These players should be playing like their lives depend on it. This was a chanceof a lifetime. Leicester certainly knows that. They fight until the dying seconds because they want it bad. Do we want it bad enough not so far.

All the signs look like a man and a team out of touch with the present. I don't think he thinks the team are good enough, i think he is also starting to look like someone who doent know what or why he is saying or doing.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think differently steve, i happen to think that arsene thinks this side is good enough mate..and thats the main problem..

04 Mar 2016 20:07:29
Even with the best record of all time as a manager how long would Fergie have lasted at united without a title win let alone a proper challenge?
1 season definitely
2 yes
3 questions would be asked
4 it would be touch and go
5 absolutely not and 12 seasons would be laughable.

As the Wenger out campaign grows in momentum and the league challenge is collapsing on an almost hourly basis right now, I'd like to ask a couple of questions.

These are based some of the comments being posted with some saying that Ozil, Sanchez and maybe others will leave along with the whole squad being either too old, too rubbish, having no bottle and that it doesn't contain a single leader.

So my questions are if Wenger leaves in May how long do you think it will take to rebuild the whole squad, bearing in mind there will be £75 million available this summer and obviously taking into consideration that we unlike United actually get the managerial replacement right and how much of a trophy drought will you put up with this time?

Oh and let's not forget City with Pep, United with Maureen, Chelsea with Allegri, Liverpool with Klopp, Spurs with Pochettino and Everton with a new wealthy owner are only going to get much better so whilst they are going forward we will be in a period of going quite a way backwards.

So how long?

Red Dog, I have been on the keep Wenger side of the fence. On Wednesday night once Swansea scored and half time came I was expecting us to come out fully firing following the hair dryer / inspirational speech. Swansea came out and were the better team directly after half time. My theory is he can no longer motivate and inspire even with the Prem at stake. My solution would be get Guus Hiddink at all costs and spend the 75mill plus on the best striker central defender and CDM our money can buy. The rest of the squad I believe are good enough but unmotivated which Hiddink can change. Swansea was the last straw but with the 3 players bought in with Hiddink it need not be a long time before we challenge again. Saddens me because of what Wenger has done for us but saddens me more because if he hadn't been so stubborn and spent the £75 mill last summer we would most probably have walked this years Prem. COYG.

I don't expect it to be too long after a new manager came in to see improvement. The basis is there the culture and the way we play with a new coach would improve. With two or three top top players and a new young dynamic coach will take us forward. can't agree with hiddink, good coach but getting too old and i believe all the top teams have good young blood and new ideas. We need a eddie howe type guy, who knows how to set a team up.

04 Mar 2016 18:16:46
Good question Red,

I firmly believe we are there or there about at present.

Let's be honest.
We have 10 games to go, this team can either win the league or they can not win the league.

I know that sounds contradictory, but my point being, it depends what Arsenal team show up for next 10 games.

I would go for Hiddink too, or Ronald Koeman.
Either of the above can turn this team around in one season.

I think this current team is close.
Elneny will be settled next season, to compliment Coq, but we definitely need another CH, and above all, a top quality striker.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 18:38:31
I pretty much agree with all of you, Wenger has been fantastic for us but all good things come to an end.

I don't think anyone could argue it was in his hands to go out with a bang but everything points, unfortunately, to a whimper, but like you say Dags, 10 games to go who knows.

The major problem is who is going to be the person to make this massive turn around in form and fortune we need this weekend, we need something big to happen but not many are seeing any likelihood of it.

For me I think we do have the right base and Steve you're spot on, the additions don't need to be big in numbers but big in quality and yes Dags the striker is and has been our major Achilles heel for far too long.

The little difference for me has always been that unlike some, whom it seems the world will end if Wenger doesn't leave, mine simply won't as and when he does.

There are quality coaches out there who would love the job and the challenge. I also hope that he isn't involved in any future picking of his own replacement and makes a clean break from the club which I believe he will.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 18:48:17
What's to say the new manager doesn't motivate Ozil and Sanchez to stay and spend the 75 million on 3 decent players plus use the money raised by off loading under achieving players to add a couple more which motivates Ramsey back to his best and the new manager brings out the very best in Ox.
Sticking by a man who has been leading us round in circles for years just because the circles he leads you round in are familiar circles doesn't sound very appealing to me
Yes we may get lost under the next manager for a while or even a long while but we may just as easily find our self's achieving 80 + points a season for the first time in how many years? And making the CL qf/ sf.
Change is a gamble always but if we keep as we are doing the same thing over and over and over again we will without a doubt continuously keep getting the same results season after season after season.

04 Mar 2016 18:55:08
Red,
I think if Sanchez and Walcott (be it striker or from the wing) , step up, this team can win the league.

But, we have been saying 'if' and 'but' all season.

This team needs to step up starting at WHL tomorrow.

Those who can and do are tired of carrying and covering up for those who don't or can't, Theo is certainly not alone but his is certainly a big part of our problems and at 26 is ever decreasingly likely to ever be a part of a truly successful Arsenal.
Theo needs to be sold this summer he's an expensive luxury this team simply cannot carry,
Barcelona or Bayern or even chelsea last season could get away with carrying 1 of Mertesaker or Giroud or flamini or Walcott in their domestic leagues but not 2 of them and certainly not all of
them.

Agree0 Disagree0

04 Mar 2016 19:40:26
Koeman for me is worth a punt as been there done that as player and manager plus his record v Arsene is PL 4 W 2 D1 and lost 1 in the last minute of injury time when down to 10 men because of injuries.
I'd say he's we'll worthy to on the short list of candidates.

For all the talk about potential managers, I think our transfer policy really does say it all:

El Neny
Giroud
Gabriel
Ospina

Expect an unheard over replacement for Wenger, not Simone, etc.

Who is the manager of Lille or at the least Borussia Mönchengladbach?

With all the talk of who could take over after Wenger's long overdue departure I was having a look around at the managers shortlisted as likely candidates on tabloid sites. Vierra was mentioned but was highly unlikely, Pep's obviously off to City and Koemann hasn't had the fantastic season he had in years prior. The lost goes on.

Anyway, it was mentioned recently and during the WC and to be honest I think he'd be a fantastic candidate - Jorge Sampaoli, the now former Chilean boss. He's interesting. Never had much of a playing career as he suffered a "severe injury" which saw him retire after only two seasons of professional football. Regardless, he seems to have been doing a fantastic job in his (I think) 30 years of management. Passionate and forward thinking. The only problem is that apart from Chile he has never really managed a *big* team. In my opinion though he is definitely worth looking at IF Wenger ever decides to hang up that ridiculous coat of his. Or what do you think, would we be worth going after Renairi or is he a one season wonder?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Koemann still seems like the best fit, if looking at premiership managers. Eddie Howe could be a left of field choice, but IMO he needs to keep Bournemouth up first. I am sure i read somewhere that Frank De Boers contract is up at Ajax this summer, not sure if this is true or not, but would a De Boer and Berkamp double fit the bill?

Really worried about us at the moment. Can't wait for the season to be over.
Does anyone know why wenger sticks with this 451 formation?
During wenger successful years we played 442 but when Viera left we changed to this current 451/ 433 set up. He has never gone back to 442 even for 1 game it is just shows how stubborn he is.
I would go back to 442 for the weekend ala Lecister, with Ozil in the Bergkamp role and with Walcott ahead of him. Sanchez playing on left and cutting in like Pires did for us with coq and eleny in the middle, could try Ramsey on the Right making runs for Ozil ala Freddie.

Got be worth a try right, we can't do any worse then the games in the last week.

But knowing mr stubborn it will be same rubbish as normal 451 so we all know what's going to happen, I have just had enough of him, he is a set in his ways dinosaur.
The definition of madness is trying the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result.
Boy does that sound familiar.

Our best chance of winning tomorrow would be to exploit Tottenham's lack of pace and catch them on the counter-attack. In order to use this tactic we need to play our quickest team.
Therefore I would play Gibbs at left back, Elneny alongside Coquelin.
An attacking midfield 3 of Walcott, Ramsey and Sanchez, with Welback up front.
If we can draw Tottenham onto our back four and release the pace of Walcott, Welbeck and Sanchez, we stand a chance of winning. Let's get behind Wenger and the team.

Tomorrow's match is massive, we simply have to win in order to keep our title hopes alive. If we win, we draw level on points with 2nd place Tottenham, whilst Leicester could easily drop points in a tricky away match at Watford.
The worrying thing for me is that we have a number of matches coming up, with a squad short on numbers due to injury and inadequate players.
We have the following players out injured; Cech, Koscielny, Cazorla, Wilshere, Ox and Rosicky. I am not sure if Arteta is injured or has retired! Flamini is utterly useless.
That leaves us with only 17 first team players. Why on earth we let Debuchy depart is beyond me. This only highlights Wenger's failure to sign more players over the last 2 windows. We kept Arteta, Flamini and Rosicky a season or two too long.

Believable3 Unbelievable0

04 Mar 2016 06:57:48
Apparently flamini is good with the camera and no one negotiates a win bonus like Arteta and those skills could be needed in the comming weeks if we get past Hull.
When asked about all the negativity about the team at the moment an Arsenal insider said " the lads are very very relaxed and just taking one selfie at a time '
