Good win tonight most other results except liverpool went way you would have thought. Didn't see it, at work but listened on radio and gabrial monreal xhaka walcott ( scored again ) sanchez and a hard working goal scoring ozil all sounded involved. And giroud scored off the bench again. First win in the league for two months, we are on our best run for a while.

Hi raver, we are coming for you now we have our second wind. Look out mate we might make that corsaburu look like a citroen 2cv again lol.

06 Apr 2017 06:39:20
Yes Steve, they did go the way we thought, but that still means United and Liverpool dropped 2 points and Man City 3 points, which isn't bad. We now need to remain unbeaten in our remaining matches and try to secure 3 points in most of them. All is not lost in our quest for CL football. Hopefully last night's emphatic win will restore our battered confidence.

raver. let's see if you can actually win the title. then you can go for a night out in Edmonton with ya mum in her rusty old Suburu. 1961 and waiting still beckons, as they say, the pain at the lane just goes on.

We are the best footballing side in the country at the moment R. G. and you know it, you said we won't finish top 6 yet we are challenging for the double, you also said iwobi Is better than dele Ali lol. Peter Kay and Johnny Vegas have nothing on you R. G.

Mathematically it can still be done, that's what he means.

06 Apr 2017 21:41:56
raver, remind us all of the trophies the toot have won during your lifetime? Remind us how many trophies your manager or Alli have won? If being 7 points behind a team with only 8 matches to play is challenging, then the ghost of 1961 beckons once again. The pain at the lane just goes on, no wonder you are always stalking gooners, Bet you wish you'd been born a gooner. 1961m yes 1961.

Its called frustration, whatever they say I know they are wanting to win when the game kicks off. They are venting that's all.

Agree0 Disagree2

05 Apr 2017 18:58:34
I understand that

1) Currently we have no chance of EVER winning the champions league any time soon

2) Each year we are in the CL we have a very very low chance of competing in the true sense of the word for the PL

3) Being the Europa league will also mean we have a very very limited chance of winning the PL

4) Finishing outside of all the Euro cup qualification places will give us a decent and unhindered chance in the PL

5) winning the PL again might actually mean we will attract big name players

As we stand at the minute we aren't in the hunt for anything or anyone big . we will need to go backwards in order for us to eventually progress.

With so much rebuilding required - with or without M. Wenger at the helm, and I strongly suspect it will be with - we need to snap up (i. e. start talking to now, rather than late August - the representatives of:
Luke Shaw
Virgil Van Dijk
Malang Sarr (OGC Nice)
Geoffrey Kondogbia
Demarai Grey
Alexandre Lacazette

Just for starters.

Max i'm not sure he will be there next season, I think now it will be results driven. There is definitely something going on for it not to be sorted out all ready. It would not be recieved well if we finish empty handed this season and its announced he's staying. I think they are hoping for a miracle and a top four finish and the fa cup and then I think wenger would stay and put his safety hat on for a while.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Apr 2017 19:15:30
Max simply spending and signing players alone isn't going to improve things at Arsenal with or without Arsene as our manger because if our problems were simply spending money and signing players then our points total would have increased since signing Mesut Sanchez Cech Xhaka Mustafi for over £150 million but the fact is the more we have spent and the more players we brought in our points total has year on year been decreasing.
If Arsene stays or goes we need to sort out why spending hasn't brought any improvement before we just throw more money at a situation that simply can't be fixed by money alone.

Agree0 Disagree0

05 Apr 2017 19:34:02
G62: I do agree with you that simply spending money isn't the sole answer. Completely agree.
But we need a better defence, a better midfield and er, better strikers?
The six I have listed there are better, in my view than who we have now, in my 'umble opinion.
Ospina is better than Cech and I'd keep him as keeper.
Mustafi is good and in his first season here but with Van Dijk and the young french man to compete with Rob Holding I'd feel reasonably secure at the back. No I don't think Koscielny is by any means rubbish, but he is not the man he was and needs to be replaced sooner rather than later.
Xhaka and Coquelin are walking yellow cards and nowhere near as good as Kondogbia and Elneney, Cazorla (when or if fit) and Oxlade Chamberlain. Xhaka, Coquelin, Ramsey, Wilshere can all go so far as I'm concerned. Had their chances and muffed it.
So it's not just spending I want, it's player overhaul - and whilst we are about it, Manager, Board, Medical Team and Owner too.

Agree0 Disagree1

05 Apr 2017 20:09:38
We all have our own ideas and views on who should stay and go Max mate from players manager board ect but obviously all it isn't going to happen in the next two years.
We need to identify what is fundamentally wrong off the field be it training tactics team talks targets set for manager and players with all being accountable for failng to achieve them, i personally would like us to have a new manager next season but i don't think that's going to happen the owner and board are going no where and neither are the players for who leaving Arsenal would mean a pay cut so we must accept what we can't do and get on with changing what we can within the boundaries of what we have.
Bringing in accountability for underachievement for everyone at the club for me would be the best addition we could add this summer and would deliver more than signing more expensive players who for some reason take us backwards rather than forwards.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Apr 2017 05:31:06
Really don't feel Lacazette would add anything to our team, he's no better than Wellbeck or Perez. He's behind Mbappe, Martial, Benzeman when playing and Giroud, so that tells you everything. Should rather splash the money on one quality striker, someone like Mbappe, Griezmann, or Dybala. And someone in the midfield to replace Santi, someone like Arda Turan.

Dolally everyone on here supports this football team that I have no doubt. Because you don't agree with their opinion don't throw that at them. Some of us have been on here years and there are great posters in out or shake it all about, we all understand each other but we don't always agree. Some don't want us to win tonight some don't want us to get top four ( none of which I agree on) but I don't think for a minute they don't support this team. They are frustated and want the best deep down. But its their opinion, that's all. People on here get me some dont, look at my avatar, I put a lot of irony and apathy in my posts for effect, some serious some not but my opinion doesn't matter a jot at the end of the day what is going to happen tonight or next year. We all have different opinions but we have all had some good laughs as well over the years and we respect each other and defend each other, we all support aresnal football club.

05 Apr 2017 18:31:01
Steve - the annoying thing is that people believe the BOARD will only react if we have a disaster season. The problem is with the BOARD. They are unambitious and don't want to invest enough to ensure top two is an expectation. Wenger has even said he has no targets : ( - put me new on the table and set goals.

I've been getting more and more frustrated in recent weeks with the criticism of Wenger, it being dated back to when we planned the move from Highbury to The Emirates. It was planned to capitalise on increased revenues from higher crowds. This was pre Oilgarchs, pre £5.136bn TV rights deals.
Don't get me wrong: I'm vehemently in the Wenger Out camp and have been now for two years (no knee-jerk from me) . But money has ruined this game.
Instead of paying £5bn+ to twenty clubs, why not 25% of this to The Premier League, 50% to the EFL. 12.5% to non-league clubs and 12.5% to social health causes?

This would address the ridiculous imbalance, pay for better and more coaches, potentially increase the pool of players available to clubs in the UK (irrespective of nationality, so no xenophobia here) , which could of course produce a better national side. If Sanchez, Ozil, Coutinho, Sané, Touré, Rooney, Ibrahimovic, Kane, Alli et al have to struggle by on £75,000 per week instead of £300,000+ and rising, then so be it. If they then all vote with their pockets and deport to China, I know who I'd still rather watch. Arsenal vs Spurs, Everton vs Liverpool, Manchester United vs City, Sunderland vs Newcastle, Aldershot vs Woking.
Limit the investment Oligarchs can pay player by law (why not? Other businesses have to have laws, why not about this: why shouldn't it be transparent? ) . Hard to police I do appreciate, but not impossible. Rugby does it.
I don't want Messi and Neymar at any cost. I loathe the obscene amounts players get for chasing a ball around. Money corrupts. Absolute money corrupts absolutely. And while we are about it Arsene, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. Quit, before you are too far behindd.

The game never stays the same. We had chance to let usmanov take over opted for stan and believed ffp would keep us in contention at the top. We were wrong.
I just don't see how wenger takes us forward.

05 Apr 2017 15:37:42
Max ultimately the money will be the downfall of football in England. The greed of every player and manager is astounding and hard working people will resent that in the end and pull the plug. Boom and bust is the term. There should be a wage cap/ structure for all but none of them want it and it will balloon to a level that can't be sustained. Greed breeds discontent.

With Man U dropping points last night, a win against West Ham tonight would not only restore confidence, but place us in 5th place above Man U on goal difference. Whilst Man City have a tough away trip to leaders Chelsea. I believe our best hope of a top four finish will be to finish above Man U and Liverpool. Man U have a tough run in, with at least two extra Europa League matches, possibly 5 and no Mata as he is out injured. In respect of Liverpool, they went through a poor spell when Mane was out injured earlier in the season, so his absence may cause a dip in results. We must get behind Wenger and the team tonight.

I am amazed at some fellow Arsenal fans. Yes, we all get frustrated with Wenger, but to suggest that they prefer us not to finish in the top four so Wenger goes is absurd.
In the last three seasons Wenger has won us the FA Cup twice and we have finished 4th, 3rd and 2nd. We have no divine right to win the PL when we are up against St some of the wealthiest teams on the planet.

I understand your point RG61 but I think in the long run we will be better for you. Sometimes you need to suffer abit to get further down the line.
Iv always said on here tho offer me 10 more years of 4th place or roll the dice and see. Il roll the dice gladly.
People think this club will go to the dogs if we miss out and the dreams over I don't see it. But then again I wasn't a remainder either.

West Ham tomorrow hopefully bellerin doesn't play because he's not suited to the premier league is RB of the season from last year. And no point naming a midfield Wenger because it doesn't even exist.

Hopefully we get stuffed 3-0 so I can show all them Wenger in haters that he is tactically clueless (despite me having no professional managerial experience) and make very opinionated yet not educated decisions on the full team and coaches and club. What about you Steve you think we have a chance tomorrow? 🎣🙈

god I hope we win. couldn't bare bellerin not jumping 6ft in the air and getting elbowed by Andy Carroll who 'wanted it more' despite viciously elbowing bellerin as this is the 'English game' and 'Arsenal players are soft' cough Alonso cough.
