All is going well in our camp at the moment. A few injuries but we showed the other day that we still have an amazing lineup.

OX for me is going to be a shining star in that central role. It's so clear his technical ability is suited for a position with such responsibility.

For me though flamini is a player we must keep my signing of the season, simply because he is an absolute general very vocal and he was free. Great bit of business. We should look to get in a young player to learn from him.

I saw chelsea play and the only player I would like to see in a gunners shirt on that pitch was matic. What a DM He is.

If chamberlain can score 2 goals against Manchester United aswell as a relegation battling team, then I might agree with you.

Agree0 Disagree0

To be fair I think he would get more chances against utd, palace maybe in a religation battle but they defended brilliantly and made it very hard for us.
I would expect UTD to offer more going forward and also less in the way of defensive wall, I think we 80% of the ball first half

Agree0 Disagree0

I think you mean 2 goals against Manchester CITY aswell as a relegation battling team.

United are the smaller team in Manchester.

Agree0 Disagree0

Arsenal have a terrible record against Utd, far worse than our record vs Man City. Utd could be in the bottom 3, and Arsenal would still struggle against them.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree about Matic but what about Eden Hazard or even Willian

Agree0 Disagree0

Bucks, Hazard was sensational right!

what a player he is becoming! unlucky we didn't get him/go for him (i'm not sure which.)

Hypothetically speaking, apart from TV5, which player(s) can you see leaving in the summer? Per to bayern for example. Bendtner to madrid? Who would you least like to see leave? It'd be podolski for me! Anyway, I know it's a silly question, but your thoughts.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Tough question! Lots of players that have grown on me these past few seasons.

For me is Rosicky, he's been here for a while and he's soooo underrated, he for me is one of the top playmakers in Europe. So much desire even in his twilight years

Agree0 Disagree0

Bendtner will go in a free to a club like Norwich or QPR, a team along those lines. As for any others none, if we won the league you'll find a lot of players will want to stay to fight for a first team spot :) god I love this season, player of the year so far for me is out of 3, Per Kos and scezza, all been fantastic, per and Kos haven't been on the loosing side since January 2013! And scezza has got 12 cleans sheets already, incredible!

Koscielny will probably be courted by Barca again as they look for cheaper alternatives. Pod could go back to germany, Sagna to PSG or Monaco. Rosicky will probably go to an MLS team. I really can't see any big players being sold though. We might get several million for TV5. Most our departures will probably be loanees who can't hack it (Coquelain, Park, Myiachi etc) and obvs ones like Bendtner and Diaby.

While we will be linked with numerous top players between now and next August and for sure some exciting players will arrive, but for me what's much more exciting is we won't lose players like Aaron Jack Ox etc in their prime.
In the past some have left for money weren't able or willing to pay others for trophies we Couldn't genuinely compete for and some just got fed up with seeing others leave so did the same.

Our financial situation is now buoyant and we have a team that is already competing and is only going to grow stronger and better in the coming years.
Of course their might be a few of the quality of the horrible dutch bloke and nothing nice about Nasri who end up leaving because they can't get in the first 18 and aren't happy playing in the league cup only

It is good we won't be losing any of our star players, but there may be afew key players we could lose:

Sagna could be off unless this contract situation is sorted out. Arguably the best and most consistent RB in the premier league over the past 5 years. Top experienced player we will really miss. Will be hard to replace him. To be honest there really isn't a lot of available talent.

Vermaelen might seek first team football. Another captain gone. He is a fantastic deputy to Kos and Mert and on his day is a very good defender. Again, hard to replace a player if his calibre. Will probs need 2/3 defenders in if him and Sagna leave.

Rosicky one of my favourite players, his versatility and experience is soo valuable. Strong chance he will leave this summer. But guess we may have Draxler lined up to replace him?

So yeh, still risk of losing key players, hopefully Wenger keeps all of these, brings in a CB and ST and keeps churning out the youth.

Agree0 Disagree0

Good post Detroit, for me Sagna and Rosicky are playing as well as ever and I hope they stay, but if they do go at least they are not going in their prime and we were lucky enough to have their best years

Agree0 Disagree0

Hopefully we don't lose too many, this isn't going to be popular but I'd sell Cazorla in a heartbeat and Arteta too tbh neither would get in my team if I had a fully fit squad to pick from.
Think we need a covering CB, and a world class striker, maybe a MF if we lose anyone from our current crop

Just wanted to hear what you guys think. Say we do win a trophy this season (everything crossed we do). With TV5 official captain but never plays and MA8 vice captain and occasionally plays will it be BGF that lifts that elusive trophy? Thoughts?? COYG

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Prob get verm to play in that game if it came down to it, make a late sub and so on.

Agree0 Disagree0

MA8 plays when healthy. Still no one would deny bfg his moment.

Agree0 Disagree0

Mertascker is our casptain it doesn't matter who lifts what or wears the arm band, Merts is everything a captain should be and is

Agree0 Disagree0

We've got a BFG beware for me, he's come of age. and excuse me if I say this but he could be a bronze statue in waiting

With Arsenal F.C being the only club to screw over fans when it comes to ticket prices, I take it that's the case going by the vast majority of the media. I came across an interesting piece in the Metro.

"Earlier today it was revealed that Manchester city fans will have to pay £77 to watch their side take on Barcelona in the Nou Camp. Seated some three miles away from the pitch, are we hearing about the ridiculousness of those prices? What if I add that disabled fans who need a wheelchair have to pay £97 for the same game? Could you imagine the uproar if Arsenal were discriminating against those in wheelchairs? Why aren't Manchester city doing anything to counteract this? Why aren't the fans groups and media pressuring them?
You may not like it, it may not be perfect, but Arsenal aren't always the villains, and nor are they the only one's in the game."

It's always nice to be reminded that we're not the only club that needs to improve on this front. It's easy to think that's the case going by the selective arguments of the media.

Would I like our club to help fans out a bit more? Absolutely! With the prices being so high it has cut off a certain working class section of fan. It would be no coincidence that if this were to slightly change the Emirates would produce more vocal support, and that in turn would gee up the team.

I for one think it's disgusting I can't even take my pack lunch in with me. I have to eat my prawn sandwiches, Cous cous salad, washed down with Champagne before the game. THINK OF THE FANS!
Flybo

Believable0 Unbelievable0

My guess is they realize they have no chance and the fans know this :)

in all seriousness arsenal are the key team to complain about but all the big 10 are guilty just the press love to beat us

Ramsey or Wilshere who would be the arsenal Captain in 3-4 years time???

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Either of them would be great, even both as co-captains.

The only problem is fitness, Ramsey is least likely to be injured but I worry JW10 is going to be hampered with injuries throughout his career.

At the moment it has to be BFG without a doubt

Agree0 Disagree0

I have a sneaky suspicion, that madrid will be coming in for one, and barcelona for the other. depends on the situation then.

I think Rambo is more level headed

Agree0 Disagree0

Jack would need to grow up a bit more, for him to have the armband. As for Rambo, not vocal enough.

I'd like to give it to the Shez, although i'd rather have a centre half doing the honours.

Agree0 Disagree0

BFG for me, he has the makings of a captain for 4 years at least

One thing I love about this season so far is that we've bought that fear factor back into our game and stadium, teams in the past would come to the emirates and think "we can get a result here" where as now when you watch teams play against us at the emirates they often park the bus for a lot of the game then try to hit us on the counter, with our defence being so solid we rarely get overrun if at all. I've got so much confidence this season that we can win something, I feel we can get all 3pts at Liverpool this weekend, I think if we can win at Liverpool it will boost our confidence so much going into the next run of games :) so proud to be a gooner!

Now there's not many players who I really enjoy watching but would never want Arsenal to sign, however Balotelli is one.

If reports in Italy are true, 40million (GBP) is far too much even if 15m is subsidised by Puma. I can think of many other Puma sponsored players I'd have their help in signing before super Mario.

Surely Wenger doesn't think it's a good idea having someone so disruptive in the dressing room? Anyway, as I began, I love watching him - but from afar.

Would you have him? And are there any players who you love to watch but wouldn't want at the Emirates?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I agree. The risk/reward is too high. Ask any City fan.

Agree0 Disagree0

If I am being completely honest.

Diego Costa, Mandzukic, benzema, jackson martinez.

In terms of quality, are they that much better to Giroud?

possibly each player has their own game and thrives in different situations, but what none of them have.

FEAR FACTOR.

Mario Balotelli, is cool, calm, absolutely lethal given a chance.

Is he a headcase? I do not need to tell anyone otherwise.

But he is not even entering his peak years, 24 this summer I think, and his upside is tremendous.

That puma deal will link us to every puma superstar from Falcao down.

but I do not see wenger spending 50 million on a player, that rules out falcao and cavani.

In milan he has scored 25 goals from 38 games, while he was a part timer at City, he scored 30 goals from 80 games.

For me its simple, if we can land him for 30 million, which I am guessing he won't cost over that, due to his headcase, and the fact that teams like barcelona or madrid, or bayern don't need a Striker, and between us and chelsea, he would prefer to play for mourinho, but depends what mourinho thinks of him.

Balotelli Yes. its not like we did not have a headcase in RVP.

Totally agree.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well. By the Arsenal do you mean in a footballing sense if so then I wouldn't like us to sign the whole of the Brazilian Ladies Beach volleyball team,,,,, but I would like to see them at the Emirates!

Agree0 Disagree0

You know what, I was going to say not worth it, but Lakerville you've convinced me. We could definitely do with a talented nutter - the rest of our squad are very disciplined and driven, they'd balance him out. And the fear factor would be another dimension. The closest we've got is Wilsh, who's just a good boy at heart.

In fact, who was the last Arsenal nutter? I always thought Senderos looked a bit edgy.

Agree0 Disagree0

If Arsene was confident he could control him I would be well up for the gamble.
He may be nuts but he's not horribly nuts.
He could be great for us and us for him

Agree0 Disagree0

No chance Lakerville, will not want him anywere near our club, he and Dani Oswaldo both are maniacs, will totally destory the friendly atmosphere of our club

Agree0 Disagree0

Can't have him would prefer falcao costa martinez in that order

Agree0 Disagree0

I think everyone reads a bit too much into balotelli.

His team mates love him, new and old, he is a bit extreme off the pitch, I agree that is an area Arsenal do not want to be involved in.

but in terms of the manager, wenger does not tolerate indiscipline.

the name does not matter, he will ship that player out. Gallas, adebayor, toure should be proof.

Milan will not qualify for the champions league or the europa league next year, and to raise money to build a squad, its quite likely a player like him, may need to be sold.

Man utd, will see how the summer goes for them, if they don't get the top 4.

Greenly just like to expand on your post regarding why arsenal CAN win the title.
This is why I believe arsenal WILL win the title;
Schezny
? Mert. Kosc.?
Art/fla.?
? Ozil ?
Giroud

That is the core of our team, the '?' Indicate the rest of the positions and by?s I mean it doesn't matter who plays their as long as the core players are playing.
With mert and Kosc as CBs it doesn't matter who the fullbacks are because they make sure they are organised and solid.
With arteta or flamini (just one of em) we have the link between defence and midfield and that presence in gap between def and mid.
With ozil you have a player that may not be taking teams apart, but a player who gives all the other players belief. Any other midfielder that plays in this team looks at ozil and thinks 'I need to play at his level' hence why whenever someone gets injured another will step up and perform. Not only that but in Ozil you have a key that can unlock any defence.
With giroud we have a striker who runs and runs and runs, is very unselfish, wins knock Ons against the best of defences, holds the ball and links up brilliantly with the midfielders. He may not be the game winning world class star, but he is the one who makes others game winning stars.

With this core we have a team that hasn't lost for over a year in the league, can tear teams apart and grind out results. A team that plays for the club, a team that is united, a team that fights for one another and a team that is destined for glory!

This is ARSENAL!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There is 2 more things about these players u missed, they have passion and want to win at all costs attitude!

Agree0 Disagree0

One player you have missed, who I think is more important than both Flamini or Arteta, is Alex.

If he can stay fit, then I reckon he'll be the difference for us winning the league. We all see that Flamini & Arteta can't play together. Jack is a liability in that position at times, cause he doesn't know whether to stick or twist. For me, he gets caught upfield far too often, mostly when he's flat on his a$re. As for Rambo, i'm not overly keen on his defensive duties. He's too weak in the tackle, gets pushed off the ball to easily, and has the annoying ability to play risky balls on the edge of his box.

The Ox however, strong in the tackle, knows his limitations of dribbling the ball out etc and even at such a young age, has the foresight of knowing when to attack or defend. Oh, and how many times do you see him getting knocked of the ball!

Not only for Arsenal, but for England aswell. he should make the 2nd midfield slot his own. Not only as an attacking option, but the amount of work he got through against Palace in a defensive role, was tremendous. For me, he has absolutely everything to be a world class centre midfield. Even at this stage, I think he can be as good as Stevie Gerrard.

And to make doubly sure we win the league, Podolski needs to be starting more games. Arsene take note!
