Greetings and salutations my fellow Gooners!

Wow. to say I aged another 10 years in the last 20 minutes would be an understatement, nevertheless a fantastic performance to suck it up and pull out a result.

My take a ways from today's performance:

1. Giroud - love the lads desire, looks a little empty on petrol. Would love to see Podolski, Gervinho and dare I say Theo perhaps come off the bench to alleviate his fatigue once healthy.

2. Gervinho - Arsene perhaps was correct in his acknowledgement that he is a player who plays on confidence. Well let's hope he keeps this form going till the end of the season. The argument whether he is Arsenal quality can wait till then.

3. Fabianski - Well done mate. A great deal of respect for this young lad to come back from injury and earn his spot back.

4. Back 4 - A lot of criticism but the numbers indicate we have conceded the fewest number of away goals this season. Frankly speaking they have all played well and poorly in spurts this season. As long as we continue to win and finish in the top 4 the assessment can take place in the off season.

5. Rosicky - My dear, who knows just how great he could've been without injury. Nevertheless he wears the jersey proudly and plays with class. Resign him!

6. Arsene - How I would really love to know the inside tale of our club. Just imagine if we stopped selling our best year on year. perhaps one day a tell all tale book will be in order.

With that my friends I shall knock back a few and continue to smile knowing that we are Arsenal. the greatest football club the world has ever seen!

nearing the end of the season and once again Arsenal are stepping up and proving there worth in squad depth. making it that much harder to see faults with the squad.

so with 7 games to go. here's what I think we need and what us, the fans want when the seasons finished and hopefully the champions league secured next season

goalkeeper - in need of reinforcements. szczesny not been up to scratch and fabianski, while he's been good for what, 4 games? doesn't make him a permanent starter. mannone out

defenders - right back could see a shake up as sagna could leave and Sebastien Corchia could come in. rumors are that vermaelen is being watched by Barcelona, but he insists he's staying and I think the fans want to see that too. another center back is needed and n'koulou looks likely.

midfielders - needs major clearing and a big re-vamp, arshavin, rosicky, diaby and frimpong should be allowed to leave and some versatile players should come in with one marquee signing to help the all roundness of the team. Capoue looks possible.

attackers - its a tough one to sort out in attack, with two coming in last season and one t**t going out, I think there's a lot more to see from this attack, a lot of people saying Jovetic should be bought, I don't think we should, instead go for an out and out winger, as walcott wants to go upfront and podolski looks like he could be lethal there, also giroud. so that leaves us with the FOREHEAD and the ox. Oxlade is good no need to replace, but a signing to get some competition would be good. Sanchez looks like he could be leaving Barcelona? maybe a step down to Barca lite?

let me know what you think gooners! sorry about the long post and eds what are the current situations of Capoue, Sebastien Corchia, N'koulou and Alexis Sanchez?

When arsene wenger comes out and says that rosicky should end his career at arsenal, I think its safe to say we won't be selling him at the next available opportunity.

7 wins 1 draw 1 lost last 9 games.

what is it about arsenal at the end of every season? we are like the top end version of wigan!

seriously great performance from rosicky today, the same as last season. I think him and gervinho look to be stepping up for us now.

fabianski is relishing being number 1 now and he deserves it with these performances. one thing i'm worried about is vermaerlen, hopefully he really comes good again and doesn't disrupt the team. we really need a new center back this summer, n'koulou anyone?

today for the first time think we will get top 4, need vermaelen to step up now and recapture his form. 2 home games now then fulham away, 3 wins if we want it enough.

mertesacker had the greatest ten mins of his career. first an awesome tackle with his back, then almost caused a red card for koscielny and finally got one for himself. what a lad!

can't fault the attitude. rosicky clearly man of the match, denied one and scored two.

Believable8 Unbelievable0

A bit picky, just had a couple of bad moments and had no choice with the penalty challenge, more to do with a great pass than a major error. I thought Ramsey played well but equally two or three errant passes, let an opponent intercept a great pass to him and missed a great chance after a great move. I could point out Cazorla's errors, Giroud jogging about etc but that would be harsh, they all played well and got the job done it's just that Merts error is at the back where they punished

Agree9 Disagree1

What I would say is, penalty. Yes Sending off. No. What goal scoring oportunity? It was a 50 / 50 challenge just a tad late. Lets's not get negative on Merts. Good result, one we might not have got in some games.

Well done rosicky big game today from him.

Fabianski in my opinion is playing himself into that no 1 jersey he is playing with confidence big up to him after everything that has happened to him in an arsenal jersey he is really performing well.

I'm not going to start dogging giroud cause I think he going to be good for us but he didn't help out his team at all today esp when we went down to ten men that shot he had what was he doing why not run it into the corner and hold on to it. He did not break a sweat either to try chase things down or help out the midfield needs to pull up his socks me thinks.

Monreal looks to be a good buy he played well today he should be our left back love Gibbs but monreal looks a proper player.

Hopefully vermealin comes in to the team now with a point to prove and plays like his old self. How many games is mert out for now.

So over to you spurs and chavs let's see what your made of.
Love this club

Such an important result today. I was worried as West brom are no mugs at home, and with Per making the last twenty odd minutes torture that was a massive win. So over to you spuds. Let's see how good you are without Bubbles.
COME ON YOU GOONERS.

Believable13 Unbelievable0

Every result until the end of the season is important. Today we played calmly and patiently, as much as it was needed, no more no less. The red card was a bit nervy but an assured performance just what we needed. Now let's just focus and push for the third spot!

A short one:

Szczesny or Fabianski?

Believable4 Unbelievable9

At the moment fabianski but in the future Shezza!

SM1996

Agree4 Disagree1

Fabianski.

I think the fact they are also international rivals means we cannot have both in the same squad.

How can Poland start Szcez ahead of Flappy now?

Agree0 Disagree0

Shez for me

337

Agree2 Disagree3

Boruc is starting ahead of szcz at the moment - he is way down the pecking order.

fabianski for me. untill he has a nightmare, then bring back shezza.

Agree0 Disagree0

I agree with SM1996
Right now Fabianski may be better, but I think Shez has more potential.

What a great win today held out in the thick!
Really happy with performances from
Rosicky
Monreal
Giroud
Arteta
They were the ones who led the team t victory! Well played lads

Believable9 Unbelievable1

Was well needed 3 points. but I just spent best part of hour tearing Giroud apart for one of worst performances 'ive seen from him :/

Agree4 Disagree1

Ramsey had another solid game I thought

Agree9 Disagree1

Giroud? I thought giroud was the worst player on the pitch!

fantastic result

Agree2 Disagree3

I didn't think it was Giroud's best game. He struggled to hold up the ball, but then again he was really isolated. More importantly, what on earth was Per doing for those 10 minutes?

Well 2-1 hard fought win in the end after the clumsy red card by Mertasaker, Lakauku was causing serious problems for us in last 20 Mins but we hang on.

Two good goals from Rosicky, not a great performance but enough to win, pressure back on Spurs and Chelsea now.

This team is full of players who were under performing earlier in the season, why does arsenal always have the biggest contrast from their best and worst performances of the season? Today we are full of hunger all over the pitch and silky smooth skill as well what a move that was that Ramsey stabbed wide, a thing of absolute beauty. Come on you gunners!

Greetings fellow gooners and Eds,

Great to hear from Ed002 again, all he does is provide high quality information and analysis for free and yet w*****s want to verbally abuse him and run him off. Shaking my head.

Anyway, thank you Ed002 for the info on FFPR, a very interesting read. Sorry again about the who take amusement in giving you unneeded stress and abuse, some people are an embarrassment to the human race and God will deal with them in the end.

Great work on the site Eds, and I really hope that Ed002 continues to drop some knowledge on us from time to time.

Bring it on West Brom!

Much Respect

ST's:what about loic remy? he'll go for at least half price if QPR go down. class striker and wouldn't be tied for europe. and obviously a lot of roumors about jovetic too. david villa's still got it aswell

MF's: not wanyama! he's good in spl but not bpl! for a defensive style player i'd go for maybe arturo vidal or maybe capoue? or even marchisio?

DF's: dani alves is back inform! he's quality. dede as a cb? and for a goalkeeper maybe diego alves from valencia?

whats your thoughts?

Talk about how's your luck.

Wilshere gets a knock and out for God knows how long.

Monkey boy goes over on his ankle, and it looked a bad one, and out for a couple of games.

Of course it's paper talk but when I watched Bale go over, my first thought was "That's him f. d for the season and Spurs into 5th".

I knew I should have gone to Church at Easter.

Wondering if Cheikhou Kouyate, who says he wants to join Arsenal, is any good? Naturally, this could just be his agent angling for a move. Does anyone know if this Defensive Midfielder is actually worth his fee: looks a powerful athlete but can he play at the top level?

Hey AJH,

Went ski-ing for a couple of weeks in Canada then just not posted for a while afterwards. Lots happened since, dodgy Turkish refs and not enough goals in Munich, not that I think either of us were going to win it.

See you've been trying to keep some feet on the ground and a little bit of reality over on yours mate. Hard going?

My take on the Valdes situation:

He obviously must be a good keeper, as he had played for Barcelona for years. A top club like Barcelona wouldn't accept crap goalkeepers.

But do I want him at Arsenal? No.

Why?

Because if you are playing as a GK for Barcelona, you don't really have to do much. The fact that he has been rated as a bad keeper by many people, makes me wonder; if he can't cope at a club like Barcelona where he rarely has to make saves, how can anyone think he would succeed at a club like Arsenal where he would have to make far more saves?

If Vorm was at Barcelona he would be rated as one of the best keepers in the world. He would rarely get called upon and when he would, he would most likely make a save. He would keep so many clean sheets and Barcelona would be very hard to beat, even harder than they are now.

If Valdes can't be trusted when called upon a few times a game, then there is no way he could cope at a club like Arsenal. Even though we dominate possession, he would still be exposed 2 or 3 times as much as he would at Barcelona.

Also, we have a great keeper in Szczesny, who actually wants to stay at Arsenal go the long term. I think we need to bring back David Seaman as a goalkeeper coach, to make Szczesny and even Fabianski/Mannone absolute beasts.

Our money could be better spent on other areas, such as a DM, a winger and a CF.

So overall, would I take Valdes at Arsenal?

No.

Nick.

Believable14 Unbelievable0

We do need a keeper but I would not want valdes as well

Agree8 Disagree0

I've never rated him. Plenty of better keepers with lesser CV's (ie never played for Barca) who would represent much better value.

Scesz and Fabs need competition but not at that price.

. and not Reina or Cech either while I'm at it. Both are past it - Why are we look at the overaged cast offs of our supposed peers anyway?

Agree4 Disagree1

06 Apr 2013 10:18:38
Definately with you on the not Valdes front, Vorm and Begovic are two good keepers and either one would be a great edition. Neither would cost the earth.

A quality keeper is a must for challenging for trophies above our 4th place one. I'm not doubting Szczesny long term but keepers take time to flourish.

We still require CB CDM and more as the back four, keeper and CDM are what we've won trophies with as much as our attacking style.

We've been reliant on youth and expecting them to come good in bunches, it never happens, we need the proven experience and quality to make the transition for our young guns to take the step up

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Apr 2013 04:07:31
i reckon if Ramsey were at United he'd be already hailed as the next 'Giggs', at Arsenal he'll be the first Ramsey for future generations to look up to
