Players like wilshere and ramsey should be signed up long term asap. They are the bread and butter of our team. Mhkitariyan aubameyang lacazette and ozil will get the headlines but players like those two compliment the 4 upfront. They have brilliant technical ability and with a commanding centre midfieder and defence behind them could complete our team. If it takes an extra push with wages then do it. their loyalty should be rewarded.

I agree, but having paid serious wages to Ozil and the two new signings, it will be extremely difficult to agree sensible deals with Ramsey and Wilshere.

Ramsey perhaps, but i'm confident with Jack. He's shown his love for the club and will repay Wenger's faith in him by staying, I'm sure. A fair deal all round would be a pretty sizeable wage but contingent on number of games he's available to play (rather than plays)

Eds, do other players have a fitness/ availability clause in their contracts? Is it feasible? Thanks.

I do want to see both get new contracts but in Wilshires case i don't think we should be breaking the bank to keep him. It should be an fair offer that takes into account his current form and availability whilst also including the fact that for the previous 3 years of his current contract he either wasnt available or considered consistently good enough to play. I don't know many employers who reward employees who had done nothing for 10 months and then shown enthusiasm just for the last 2 months leading up to their pay review.

Good results for us in our quest for a top four slot, with Chelseas, Liverpoo and the toot all dropping points. This weekend is crucial for us and we must avoid defeat which would end our slim hopes of a top floor slot. Hopefully Conte will limp on, as a change of manager may reinvigorate off form Chelsea. If we can stay within touching distance of our rivals for a top four spot, the rigours of CL and FA Cup football may hinder them.

It was and we have to steal a march on the spuds when we play them at our home from Home Wembley.

Spurs dropping points at anfield lol R. G. forgot what happened to Arsenal when they got totally embarrassed by them, brilliant week for spurs with man Utd and Liverpool having the runaround. As for the game on Saturday sanago the pressure is off for me as we have no chance against Arsenal with the fans on the radio saying you will win comfortably.

06 Feb 2018 13:18:45
Do people still listen to the radio where you live Raver, TV’s been about for a while now fella. 😜.

Oh dear raver61, no trophies for a draw at Anfield! Just watched trophy-less Pochettino being interviewed on Sky, he was asked if Kane is after trophies! He looked like a rabbit caught in the headlights. It will be interesting how long trophyless Pochettino and Kane will stay at a team that is allergic to silverwear. Just to remind you that Arsenal have won 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields over the last 4 seasons and have a cup final this month. 1961, yes 1961.

Raver, its going to be a tough weekend for both teams. If us or you says its going be walk in the park its bloody nonesense mate. as much as we are confident in our teams we both know its going to be a tough one.
However, Looking forward to beating you comfortably again tho ;)

Ah those community Shields :-) I've heard they talk about nothing else in Manchester Madrid Munich :-) sorry RG I just cringe a bit when they get dragged out as a show strength.

correct sanago I was listening to the radio in the famous Subaru on Saturday night with a nice Amsterdam cigar, R. G. You are totally deluded and you still mentioning the community shields is a joke as its a pre season warm up lol. Ask any non spurs or Arsenal fan who's the better club right now and it won't be Arsenal mate. While you will be playing the carabao cup final this month we will be taking on juventus for a place in the last 8 of the European cup.

Raver to be fair there’s only a few points between. We will see how the new team looks against a strong opponent I’m looking forward to the game. I’m also looking forward to see auba if you employ the high press against us.

Raver61 and G62 - may I remind you that in order to win the Community Shield you have to win the league or the FA Cup and in Arsenal’s case we have had to beat the reigning league champions on all three occasions. Clubs list the Community Shield as a trophy. Raver61 stop embarrassing yourself by even discussing trophies until you list the trophies the Toot have won in your lifetime. The reason why the Toot haven’t won the Community Shield is that they haven’t won the League or FA Cup for decades and the Community Shield was called the Charity Shield last century.

Raver61 - you can be the best team, but if you win nothing it’s futile. Last season we lifted the FA Cup and the Community Shield, which is etched into history. The Toot won nothing. Premature as usual, gloat when the Toot actually won a trophy. Toot are the perfect team for you: A manager that has won nothing, a team that has won nothing and poor little raver61 - a supporter that has never seen his team win a thing. Thankfully I chose to be born a gooner.

I don't think man Utd, Liverpool, Chelsea etc brag about winning the community shield rg that's my point as it's a pre season friendly trophy,

I’m sure Mourinho said he’d won 3 trophies Raver, the Trinidad and Copacababa Cup, the Europa Dopa and the Community Shield.

But he had to brag about that as for United that was pathetic as was his 7th place finish.

Aside from that mate, why at the age of 46 are you still driving a Subaru? 😉.

When you are as good looking like the raver you can get away with anything in life just ask R. G. s wife who has bounced up and down in the back of my Subaru many of times 😉.

The UAFA super cup RG? You have to win the champions league or the europa league to be in it but when does it ever rate a mention in this country or any other major league in Europe as trophy worth talking about?
The community shield allows how many subs in it? How many in all competive competition across Europe and in this country?
Sorry mate its a show peice friendly as a curtain rasier to the new season no more no less.

Agree2 Disagree4

07 Feb 2018 06:36:39
G62 - I would be extremely happy if we won the Super Cup, as it would confirm that we had won the CL or the EL and beaten the holders of the other trophy in the final. Of course the CS is the curtain raiser to the new season. I reiterate that it is not a friendly, it is a competitive match played at Wembley in front of a full house between the Champions and the FA Cup holders. Clubs that have won it include it in their list of trophies, unlike a friendly tournament such as the Emirates Cup.

Agree3 Disagree2

07 Feb 2018 08:03:02
A competitive match with 5 subs? With a trophy that used to be shared between the two clubs if a draw?
It's all opinion mate and I personally think it makes us look desperate and small fry to have to use it to show how good we are.
A bit like taking your cycle proficiency test to a job interview as a qualification achieved at school :-)
The sad thing for me is I was off sick the day my school did that test so I left school 16 with just a milk monitor badge to show for 11 in the education system :-) maybe I'm a fool to myself but on job applications I don't mention even that.

Agree1 Disagree3

07 Feb 2018 09:52:56
G62 - We will have to differ on this topic, but I can assure you it is considered as a trophy. Of course there is a hierarchy in respect of trophies, but to deny it's a trophy is simply incorrect and raver61 would love to quote it as a trophy won by trophy-less toot as it would mean that they had actually won the PL, which they have never done, or the the FA Cup.
