lets get first thing first, higuian will NOT sign for arsenal, as real Madrid are waiting on Napoli to sell to put a firm a bid in,
arteta was the player purchased that set the tone for how mediocre the players and ambition of the the board, before iam told arteta magic worl class their is players linked with the club i. e fellani fabregas arteta would be dropped in a heart beat,
the whole club lacks ambition has done for years,
our owner far richer than Chelsea only difference abramovich wunts it gets it,
have a cheek selling tickets for little desire we will be following in liverpools footsteps the dregs of the EPL.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Alright mate so when Higuain signs will you come back and admit you we're chatting rubbish? Arteta was a last minute buy and he is a mediocre player. He was at Barcelona in his young days and is a player that is very underrated in the prem. You talk of Cesc as if he didn't play and captain our team! Bottom line you is you know nothing and all your doing bringing negativity to this site.

Agree0 Disagree0

Well this doesn't seem at all negative. Are you wanting this to come true for some reason?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't buy any razor blades
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Ok fair enough- its all doom and gloom and let's just prepare for mediocrity.

So you have no need to check arsenal rumours or transfers? Cause there is no point is there?

Or in the next month or so when most of our summer targets have been signed?

hmm I wonder what you will have to say then.

You will go back on what you just said, I assure you.

Agree0 Disagree0

I know you are just trying to wind gooners up, but I guess you have succeeded at least on me. (I take it you are a trolling chav)

Where to begin with your post:
1. Usmanov is a minority shareholder in Arsenal, so although richer than Roman Abromovich, he cannot really pump any money into the club;
2. Kroenke is not as rich as Abromovich and is used to North American sports which are salary capped in general and make profits year on year (although the avalanche did have a big pay roll pre-salary cap NHL);
3. Arteta had the highest number of passes and highest pass completion rate in the BPL (yes he is in every way superior to Carrick and were he English everyone would recognize this) he is the metronome through which arsenal ticks;
4. Arteta's only problem is he can be harried off the ball / man marked so he does not receive the ball, which can disrupt our distribution and he is getting on in years;
5. You are naive if you think those players would walk into the team, you need a strong squad rotation and arteta would remain a vital cog in that rotation;
6. I agree Arsenal has been conservative in the transfer market for years ( because we built a multihundred million pound stadium, had terrible commercial deals, and I guess we are not owned by a fantasy football oligarch);
6. We have now renegotiated our commercial deals;
7. We have the fourth biggest gate in European football;
8. We will have some of the biggest commercial deals in European football;
9. FFP is coming into force (the jury is out on whether it will have any teeth in the BPL or in Europe, but if it does good for us);
10. In relation to 6, 7, and 8, we can now spend some money, not oligarch like money, but still some serious money; and
11. Hig will be the start of this change in philosophy (although arguably the culling of our academy and deadwood removal signalled the start).

Anyways you are entitled to your opinion, although it appears you have drank the club in crisis kool-aid.

If you are a fan I am sorry that you are Eeyore and seem to have lost your tail. If you are a chav, well I hope that FFP does not actually come into force for your sake.

I hope Arsenal will sort out their shirt-numbers this season. I have heard Diaby no longer has the nr. 2-shirt. Who will wear that shirt you think? I hope Santos will leave, or at least get stripped from the nr. 11-shirt. Also, Rosicky, yes he is good when fit, but he is not our first-choice. should he lose his nr. 7-shirt? Would love for our best 11, would wear shirts from 1-11. Last, but not least, I hope Vermaelen finds his form again.

Norwegian Gunner

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Does it matter?!!

SM1996

Agree0 Disagree0

Yes, I feel it does matter. Arsenal was the first club (along with Sheff Wed), to wear numbers on their shirts. back in 1928. They used numbers from 1-11 for the starting 11. Also, Arsenal would sell a lot more nr. 11 shirts, if a different name than Santos was on the back.

I hope a full-back picks up the vacant number 2 shirt. usually being used by the right side full-back.

Just watched sanogo the way he plays really reminds me of a young kanu. Wenger has unearthed a mager talent between him and higuain I'm expecting mager things.

I would understand spelling major wrong once but twice come on. I agree though I don't know why everyone is angry about the sanogo signing he's a promising prospect. hopefully with other new players coming in more majer things will happen at Arsenal.

I just bought him on Fifa 13. And he's awesome lol. Might I add that as an arsenal fan, the Arsenal board sacked me due to my rather explicit outbursts and I am now sitting pretty at the top of the league at the helm of Wigan lol.

what the hell is wrong with Perez. Does he knows what negotiation means? We have already increased the bid twice and 23 million should satisfy both parties. I think madrid also need to get down couple of millions from their target price. This is how to negotiate, and by the way if you guys want bale you have to sell some one like higuain. So don't think we are desperate need him, its the cash Madrid needs now desperately, as they already bought 2 players for 60 million. So if you really want bale they need to end this saga.

So Perez don't **** around man! and let the player leave!! or I will stick CR7 IN YOUR OLD FILTHY PERVERT *SS!!

Sky's exact words are "Arsenal are still interested in Argentine forward Gonzalo Higuain". Reading between the lines, even though it is pretty easy for this quote, I think that the deal is no where near completion. Yes we've heard Higuain's agents talking about advanced talks, but I must admit I'm with sky on this one - they're pretty reliable and I think that the deal will take a lot more time. Sorry Malaga.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I think those words link well with the rumour that their is not a definitive agreement on the price of his sale, this only being since Perez has tried to recover more money from the sale. Sky earlier stated our representatives flew to Spain to close a deal, not start a deal close a deal meaning fees were agreed and personal terms were on the cards. The deal should still go through the player wants leave and Arsenal will pay a good price for him, be patient.

Tbh, I would love to see Illarramendi and Higuain signing for us. Marchetti would be also amazing signing, but I think Cesar is enough.

Szczęsny would have somebody to compete, it will have good impact on him. I think we should get rid of Sagna and give Bellerin a chance. In the centre we have 3 worldclass CBs. On the left we have Gibbs and Monreal, two classy defenders. In the middle we should play Illarramendi as a defensive mid, Jack or Aaron as box-to-box midfielder and Cazorla as offensive player. On the left wing I wish we could see Chambo. When he comes from the bench he is always on the ball and give good impact to Arsenal. He deserves a spot in starting XI. In the centre of attacking 3 I'd love to see Higuain. Amazing striker. And on the right Walcott.

We would be really challanging team next season, can't wait!

From Poland with love!

Hi ed, looks like Madrid are playing hard ball with arsenal over Higuain. I think there early desire to sell him was based on the accumulation of funds to finance a deal for bale. Now with spurs refusing to sell bale for less than a world record fee, Madrid look like they will go with what they already have, supplemented with some affordable rising stars. Subsequently arsenal will have to go to prices that would leave arsene choking on his spaghetti carbonara. Therein lies the dilemma. We all crave new signings, but do we want to pay astronomical fees for essentially Madrid cast offs. Wenger has bemoaned the inflated fees and extortionant wages of a modern day footballer, he is not exempt from criticism, paying "rubbish footballers" 60 grand a week and tying them to long deals. He is definitely clearing the decks to bring in new players, most of the deadwood are being sold, loaned or e-bayed. I know we are all getting restless but I am convinced new players are coming in. This summer could be so fruitful, if we secure any of our top targets, notably, Higuain, jovetic, remy, grenier, kondogbia, Fellaini, Capoue, Wanyama, I can see us looking at a very good future. I think the next two weeks should see arsene's gold amex card take a pounding in the summer sales. Happy go lucky.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

" do we want to pay astronomical fees for essentially Madrid cast offs. "
Comments like that p*ss me off. Just because he was behind Benzema (not a bad player) under Mourinio, he therefore is a cast off and not worth buying, rubbish!
At a push, if he is a cast off, then let's have one from Real Madrid.
It comes down to "will he improve our team". Answer put simply, yes. Why? Because he's a quality player and worth every penny.
Flybo

Agree0 Disagree0

Robson said the same thing. Really bugs me.

Higuain is not a "cast off"- he came out at the end of the season and declared his will to move. He's scored 100+ goals for one of the best sides on the planet before he's 25.

He is about as quality as it gets.

Agree0 Disagree0

On second thought, maybe it was Adams who labeled Higuain a cast off, either way the two of them should put a lid on it

Agree0 Disagree0

How can you even say that about the player who since 2007 has only been eclipsed in la liga goals by the two best players in the world. You don't have a clue why you're talking about. Higuain is pure class and in a team like arsenal has the ability to make is great again. I think you need to YouTube him as you clearly haven't got a clue about what class is!

Agree0 Disagree0

Stopped reading when you called higuain a madrid cast off.

Agree0 Disagree0

Song, nasri, vela, rvp, cesc, henry?

when we sold these players were they arsenal cast offs?

song wasnt defensive enough for our setup, supposedly good enough for barca now and then

nasri was too greedy, but has still one more prem titles than any of our team

vela was unlucky and i'd have him back over gerv or park or bendy or chamackh

RvP disagreed with the powers that be, to quote utd 'no player is bigger than the club'

cesc, well cesc went back to his parents house, he can move back to his home in england when he wants

henry, and key to my point.
henry was never as good as when he was with us, his career was starting to trail off after us really, and who STILL wouldn't want henry back?

interested to see what people think on the Luis Suarez to Arsenal transfer I personally can't see this happening but William Hill stopped taking bets after a strange betting pattern in Spain and a lot of bookies have short priced him now to where were favourites or second favourites to sign him, I for 1 don't know if i'd like to see him in an arsenal shirt because on his day he is the best striker in the premiership and got everything you'd want out of a player but the things he do ruin that, and I thought he needed to get away from the English media for bullying him.

And with regards to papers linking us with Gareth Barry I would hate this very much, second most overrated player in english football behind Stuart Downing.

Just a thought if we are to keep hold of verminator who would be keen to put our faith in miquel as 4th choice center back as we have put a lot of work in to his development and he is coming in to the age where he needs to be playing. Give him the cups to shine in till christmas then if he is out of his depth we can look at signing a replacement 4th center back?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Like the look of miquel, would be brilliant to produce another gem from la masia, especially a position that they need.

Interesting reading the replies on the Fellaini/ Ramsey rumour.

IMO that rumour is nonsense. At any rate 17m + Ramsey for Fellaini is not worth it in any way. It's the most unrealistic deal I think I've ever heard. I fthey were saying 17m + Coquelin then I think that's not bad but Ramsey? No no no.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jul 2013 10:41:39
Seeing that Francis Coquelin has moved out on loan, I really don't see a replacement being brought in with a keeper, striker and a defender priorities. so I feel that this is a big season for Frimpong and the emergence of Hayden and Yennaris

Note for ed
With Moyes now coming out and sayin Rooney is not for sale.
Do you think Arsene will make a move for Remy from QPR? Wenger has been linked to him for years. surely he'd be a cheaper option and better suited than other potential strikers. He looked pretty impressive in prem last season. Strong and powerful.
I also think him and higuain (if he signs)would make a decent attacking force some5hing arsenal lack atm
what are your thoughts ed? {Ed029's Note - Posted elsewhere by Ed02 - Remy may well move on this summer and QPR expected an enquiry from Spurs - that never happened. Inter see Remy as a cheap solution and have sought assistance from someone at Marseille to help persuade him to move from England, where he is apparently keen to stay. She tells me that any interest from other clubs, such as Liverpool, Arsenal and Newcastle at this time would seem to be no more than speculative with Newcastle making it clear that they will not be declaring any interest at €8M. This one could run all summer or he will need to return to mainland Europe.}

Not a whinge, a whine or a moan but would like an answer.

How can Chelsea bid agree terms etc in no time for Van Ginkle and yet despite some goods indications that an offer is accepted GH has not signed.

Does anyone know what could be holding up GH coming?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

There's is so many reasons it could be held up. Maybe real are involving GH in a deal for Cavani, or neither teams can agree on a deal, maybe GH and arsenal can't agree personal terms.

I've never been involved in the transfer of a player so I don't know all that goes behind the scenes, all I know is there is a lot more to do than most people think.

I think other clubs wait for Arsenal to negotiate a deal for a player before making an offer, in such a scenario they know they are in for an absolute bargain. And then come in with a bigger pay package/guaranteed trophies etc to lure the player away from us. Very possible and smart.
