You mean ya 20 pack (of beer) and ya 6 incher? :-)

I think 6 incher is a bit generous Dags. And more likely a one pack - of white lightening.

What a top bloke Gareth Bale is, very humble and respectful.
He and his team mates should be very proud of themselves they've had a fantastic tournament and have equaled England's achievement in Italia 90 as the best British performance away from these shoes.

Why were neither team in red?

Portugal were the designated home team, but never wore red, so why didn't Wales wear red?

I'm bored :-)

This club is really pi@@ing me off now. Firstly we buy xhaka for 35mil who is a top player but not exactly what we need in the cdm position. We need a destroyer who can cover the grass quickly and make an accurate pass for example the polish cdm from seville or kante. i'm sure there are similar cheaper players with potential around. I felt we needed to get rid of deadwood and players not good enough eg walcott as a big earner. We could have got a quality RWM in mkhartayrian for a cheap price above man u as we have champions league and london to offer and we couldn't entice him. that's the clubs fault. We could have got a top striker but we mucked about with Vardy for weeks knowing he wasn't coming. Hummels went to bayern for around 25 mill and we never were in for him. The lists are getting thinner by the day andour rivals are making bids.
I don't see us signing good enough quality to challenge. I fear our 1 big signing was xhaka same as every year. Get them all the f@@k out if they will not listen to the fans!

Whether we like it or not utd are the most successful English side ever home and abroad and have been much more successful much more recently than us and have a manager who has had major success every where he's been in a very short space of time.
Our reputation has become a perennial also rans home and abroad and until we show ourselves to be serious contenders again the best players won't consider us if they have options at other big clubs.
Until we are actually competitive we won't get a look in with the best players, but as Leicester proved that doesn't mean we can't achieve if we shop wisely and most importantly get our players mentality right.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jul 2016 20:30:34
Shocking post couldn't disagree more. The window has actually only been open 6 days. Give it time. Xhaka I'm sure will be a great signing. And do those jobs well. I remember a while back. Could be wrong. Ed001 saying Bayern was after him and he thought he'd go there. And we've got him. If he went there you'll probably be on about missing out on him. I think they're trying harder then you realise to get a top wiskity CF. and a RW would be nice but it's not a must for me. CB and Cf are a must. Give it time then moan away lol.

06 Jul 2016 21:02:45
Exactly D16, it's been open less than a week, with the euros and players taking holidays it'll take time to sign players.

So Maureen has the job everyone wanted, guess I missed the huge queue after Fergie left and the clamour for the job after they hoofed Moyes out the door, such a clamour in fact that they picked the over the hill coffin dodging phlylosphy spouting clown known as LVG.

Now they've kicked him into touch and you are out of work from wrecking Chelsea from the inside and making a tool of yourself the classless club want the classless one.

You may be a winner Maureen but you're desperation to blame others and blow anyone's candle to make yours shine brighter shows the utter twonk of a human being you are.

Agree stoner, every time he comes on the tv I turn over, he was back yesterday saying how good he is etc and everyone else are failure's. The man is horrible and arrogant and i hope it goes all Pete tong at Manchester United for him, but I've got a feeling he is going to clean up next year it wouldn't surprise me if they win the league, fa cup and league cup as he is a good manager who is bringing top class players to man utd.

Look I know it's probably unpopular to say as my hatred for both United and mour! But anyone who can honestly sit there and say that managing Manchester United isn't one of the top three management positions for a neutral is out of their minds . Mouriinho is in the top five managers in the world and he's not top three because of the shameful episode at Chelsea . I know guys for most Arsenal fans that the United mour combo is one of the most appealing combos possible for any rival fan worth his salt bit let's not resort to absolute bull shizzle or you really ruin your own credibility.

06 Jul 2016 16:58:46
Where was the queue to manage them SLB, why did they put up with those 2 clowns when they should have been able to attract anyone to as you say, one of the top 3 clubs.

No one doubts his ability as a manager, it's as a human being that he is a vile creature and I'm glad he is there and not here.

He obviously has the ability to win and a few years in the wilderness has required them to resort to him. A club with so much class from years gone by.

06 Jul 2016 18:27:42
As a manager results wise a great manager. But any man who pokes another from behind in the eye and then gives it large afterwards when his backroom staff have gotten in between him and Vilanova is a maggot ( check it out on youtube ) - no more no less. Start a fight then clear off - we`ve all known a few of them! COYG.

06 Jul 2016 18:36:03
Funny how Man U supporters used to say how vile and disgraceful he was, now he is Mr wonderful and a lovely man. He is a brilliant man manager which works on the players for 2 years, then unless a club buys him a few more superstars everything disintegrates around him. I have always believed that he is not the best coach or tactician, and he knows it, but the best in getting into the players minds.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jul 2016 10:39:43
Subotic and Morata please.
Byram and Rodriguez would complete the squad.

Outs: Debuchy, Jenkinson (when fit) , Chambers (on loan to gain 1st team experience) , Monreal (keep Gibbs as he is homegrown and younger) , Campbell, Szczesny, Hayden, Sanogo, Gnabry (shame as had serious potential - maybe another loan deal? ) and Akpom (loan) .

Iwobi, Zelalem and The Jeff although it might be a season too soon for the last two. Three cracking players who will be pivotal in the Post-Wenger Arsenal. Big hopes for Crowley and I'm not giving up on Gnabry yet either. Talk of Campbell leaving is crazy, he can be something special.

{Ed001's Note - I am off out as Eid has started here so the sales are on. My daughter is 15 next month so going looking for some stuff for her bday. So I will only be checking in as and when, not me you have cursed! So I am not complaining ;-)

06 Jul 2016 07:55:16
Good luck son you are a brave man!

{Ed001's Note - no better place in the world to go shopping mate, like tomorrow when I am going to Dubai Mall for the day, which will probably consist of 3 hours staring at the aquarium and visiting every sports shop, even though my daughter would not want anything from them....}

06 Jul 2016 07:31:01
Ed01 and The Barn.
Just a bit of advice seeing as you both have your feet on the ground .
When I read you were in Dubai re the reply you gave me earlier and The Barn was saying that for every so many visas they issue X amount get cancelled and their was going to be an exodus out there .
Can you give me some advice please.
One of my sons is 22 and is a no:-1 race mechanic with a top F3 team in the UK his girlfriend is 22 and is a primary school teacher. They were thinking of going to Dubai next year or so to get some money under their belt.
Would you advise yes or no?
Thanks boys .

{Ed001's Note - teachers are in demand out here still, they are struggling to keep up with the expanding population. Personally I would say it is worth it for the experience. They might hate it or they could have the year of their lives. The thing they have to remember is that it is not cheap out here, they need to be very careful with money. Far too many people here are out every night and never save anything, even worse end up in debt.}

06 Jul 2016 07:44:08
Ed01.
Firstly I appreciate you answering this question on this site.
Luckily they have their feet firmly planted on the ground thank god and they just want to some proper money under their belts even though they do well salary wise in the UK for their ages so hopefully the going out being nutty will not be an issue.
ED01 what about the motor racing game out there F3 single seaters do you know what that is like?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - there is Motor City out here with a racetrack and there is Yas Island plus a UAE and Middle East racing circuit. With there being a lot of oil money, they love their cars out here! I nearly got run over the other night by a Hennessey Venom, I was thinking that Lotus is bloody noisy and then realised I was stood in the middle of the road. Damn thing was shifting as well. I haven't really got too much knowledge of the racing here, as I have not had time to check into it. Closest I have been is getting taken to the F1 in 2014 as a late birthday prezzie.}

06 Jul 2016 08:22:19
Thanks mate .
Main thing is that it is out there
Now aren't you supposed to be out shopping mate?
Don't forget to take a pound for the trolley ha ha
or is it a gold coin out there?
LOL.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - hahaha I can multi task. Trolleys are 1aed here about 20p.}

06 Jul 2016 09:00:25
I mainly echo Ed's comments. Teachers are usually in high demand and there are a lot of high profile schools here. I'm not convinced by the growing population argument that they push here like a mantra because people connected to the oil industry are leaving in their droves. This then affects retail and property which will be more evident after the summer. People who lost jobs at the beginning of the year had already paid for their accommodation and schooling and if they haven't secured new jobs, they'll be off when the school term ends. It's an experience worth considering but don't be fooled by the tax free thing, the cost of living is high which offests the benefit. A lot of people get sucked into the social scene and live beyond their means, but on balance I would recommend giving it a go. Karting at the Motor City Autodrome is great and going to the F1 in Abu Dhabi to watch it on TV is also worth doing. I didn't pay for my ticket either. I think that's why I didn't end up on yacht with a load of Champagne quaffing models. Ed002 probably does that in Monaco. However, the driving in Dubai is shocking so there's a business opportunity for Dags. People in Dubai don't like the Flintstones but people in Abu Dhabi doooooo.

Red Dog made a very good point yesterday when was the last time we signed a player who wasn't already available or probably a better way of putting it when did we make any club an offer for a player they just couldn't resist?
We've lost plenty of players to other clubs when they've come in with silly money bids so in our attempt to sign a striker this summer maybe the question shouldn't be who is available but who are Arsenal actually bidding on to try and make available.

06 Jul 2016 12:53:38
Good point but if we get to the point that we are unhappy about not stealing players then we have resolved the issue that we aren't signing players
One step at a time! ๐Ÿ˜€

Not sure we can steal players from City, Utd, Barcelona etc as we don't have the clout right now or the money to offer stupid cash.
