We've replaced TH14 at long Last

Are we about to replace Paddy and Freddie?

William Carvalho and Gelson Martins

Love the Lacazette # tag.

Why Mbappe?
I don't understand the hype with this kid.
He's already stated he wants to play for Barcelona (Or was it RM) in a few years.

Arsenal are not a stepping stone.

More like why 120 odd million for an 18 year old.
What's he done that's so fantastic that warrants that price.? Look at Pogba as an example Dags. Apart from when he was playing for France last year I wouldn't have been too happy with he's performance in the Premier League. I would say he's on par with lots of similar players in the Premier League. No, I'm with you mate. What I saw of Lemar and in fact I posted on here about him and asked the Eds what his story was as I honestly never heard of him, I would rather have him all day long over Mbappe.

Mbappe terrorized juve's defense and probably would have had 2 goals in the semifinal second leg if it weren't for Buffon. He's the real deal, only really got game time during the second half of the season and he still put up ridiculous numbers - six goals in six champions league appearances. He's 18 year old and he has an incredible maturity about his game already.

That being said I don't think we will be seeing him in an arsenal shirt. Lemar would be a more realistic, and more necessary as of Wednesday. Doesn't look like that will happen either.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - the difference is that Mbappe is a world class talent, Lemar is not.}

07 Jul 2017 07:13:34
mbappe no doubt will head to the top, even if he came here for three years and went so what. i'd rather three years with him that not.

carvalho would protect the back four that's for sure, what do people think is the reason he's still at sporting? price? i'm coming round to the idea of him in our team.

It will be hilarious if united sign lukaku for 75 mill.

it was £50 mil but £75 if they have to take rooney too.

Your not worried Lukaku could become Jose's new Drogba then boys?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 23:09:08
Lacazette will be the new Drogba.

07 Jul 2017 12:51:30
No dags he's the new ian wright, right.

07 Jul 2017 14:46:39
So many things about that club have a comedic value right now.

Releasing a photo of Mkhitaryan wearing the new home kit looking like he's 3 months pregnant then having to delete it.

Rooney surprisingly pictured at a McDonalds drive through and Lukaku being the new Drogba.

62 you manage to drag a negative out of every single thing mate.

I have never had a problem with players getting really big wages. I always liked the idea of working class lads screwing the likes of the Hill-Woods or Kroenkes for as much as they could, as these people did little to get their money in the first place. I know in the end it's the supporters who pay but it always made me laugh when a player took them for a few quid. Having said that if the rumours of Alexis and Ozils pay demands are true, then it's time to say good-bye to them. They are probably asking for outrageous amounts just to secure a transfer. If so they have to go as even if we paid them what they want it would leave the rest of the squad wanting more also. Maybe its time they joined us in the real world where people are struggling to get by from day to day, or even not struggling to get by but losing their battle with life and just giving up altogether.

Football is not in the real world. The whole scene is money mad.

Sanchez, £400k per week doesn't sit very well with me.

But, it's not my money.

could be if it leads to ticket increases dags.

06 Jul 2017 17:32:24
Exactly Eden.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 11:14:22
Sanchez supposedly after 400k a week, just let the guy go, tired of seeing this guy dictate his terms and trying to be bigger than the club, leave him go wherever he wants we won titles before him we will win them after him, honestly don't see him being that difficult to replace. Would honestly rather risk Mahrez.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Jul 2017 11:19:42
I was one of the give him 300k, he's too important to let leave gang. However if he really is asking for 400k then I agree he's taking the piss and I think we should let him go!

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 12:17:46
He is simply demanding for things he knows we can't give. That's a way of forcing himself out to Man City. Bayern can't pau him that either. He is trying to show us that he will do everything he can to force his way to Man City.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 12:11:59
If and I say if, sanchez is demanding that anount, he won't be going anywhere, I don't think anyone will pay that, except the chinese and we might even get an inflated fee for him if he went. Im sure he's on his phone right now on necca island telling wenger he wants that amount.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 12:28:30
Ive also read ozil wants 350,000 a week, cheapskate.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 12:57:54
Really like Mesut but i can't see how he has earned that sort of payrise if it's true that's what he has asked for, there doesn't seem to be a mad rush of top clubs looking for his signature right now so that should be an indicator of what he has and hasn't done to deserve a payrise.
I'm a big fan of Ozil but undeserved super pay increases have done little to improve our players output in the past so I see little point in carrying on this mentality at the club.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 13:21:02
Gunner the money is irrelevant, that's the way the football world works. We have just done a 50 mil deal for a new player and that's not sniffed at. Players wages and managers come to that are obscene but we all know that and still some complain about money. that's the whole mirky greedy world that is football.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 15:04:17
It's the rewards without producing the goods philosophy that worries me mate, I'd be happy to pay Sanchez a million a week while I consider Jack's 100k an extravagant over payment.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 20:14:16
To put this into perspective, the highest wage at Barcelona, not including Messi, Neymar and Suarez, is £165K for Iniesta.

At Real, not including Ronaldo and Bale, it is £180K for Modric.

If Sanchez wants £400K, in fact, if he wants more than £250K, get the lad an Uber and let him be on his way.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 20:29:06
Iniesta and Modric wages put a lot of premier league players wages into perspective and puts a question mark over how all players are driven by money more than success Sharpie mate.

Hello Gunners just popped over to ask you your take on Giroud personally I would be very happy if we got him but would like a bit of info on your end on him cheers guys and hope you have a great season this year👍.

I don't want to loose him. I like him as a player. Doesn't seem any trouble.
For me he would be a great signing for you.

Agree2 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 10:27:24
I think Giroud would suit Koeman's style of play and you'd probably get some good performances from him.

We, mostly, don't play to Giroud's strengths and I think people over look that when judging him in an Arsenal shirt.

06 Jul 2017 10:39:36
Thanks very much guys for the info I really hope we can get him always liked him best of luck this season guys.

06 Jul 2017 10:43:55
Giroud is one of the best in the air in football today. Very very technical player for a big guy. I've no doubt 20m would be a bargain as you'll get a few years out of him. Seeing as he hasn't got Much pace and he plays knowing that it won't be a problem him being 30.

06 Jul 2017 10:56:53
Cheers Stef mate, I think the fight for top 4 is going to be really tight this season and you boys will be right in the thick of it.

Thanks guys should be a good race for top 4 this season👍.

Yes if you sign him, he will bag you 15 goals a season in the prem.

Sure you wouldn't rather have Walcott?

Agree0 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 08:12:59
IF Sanchez stays one more season, and IF we make top four and get CL, would we not be in a better financial position to replace Sanchez next summer with a little change?

If we sell Sanchez for £50 million this summer and sign say Mahrez for £35 million we have only really made £15 million for loosing a proven quality player for what I see as a risk!

£15 million in the world of football is not a lot of money!

Replace what we have been craving for,
One done pacy forward 👍🏻
Next pires type winger with pace
Then veira
Then we can talk about a challenge.

Sanchez wants 400k a week and for arsenal to spend, I say give it to him and spend spend spend 🤗🤗.

06 Jul 2017 10:23:32
I say let him rot on the bench.
The Barcelona bench warmer, now wants 400 k
For me sulky Sanchez can leave in a year for free.
Hate the guy now with a passion.

06 Jul 2017 10:45:09
You're right Welsh. I'm absolutely livid because some journalists that constantly talk crap have said he wants 400k.

Agree1 Disagree0

06 Jul 2017 06:50:17
Reports that Sanchez wants £400,000 pw, should we pay him such a high amount?
On the positive side replacing him with a similar player will cost more than the £50m we may receive, together with a high salary package.
On the negative side, it provides a dangerous precedent in respect of wages for top players and Wenger always has the top salary at the club, so his salary will go up.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

06 Jul 2017 08:02:47
I can't see any club outside of China paying him those wages. I believe that we should leave our offer on the table, keep him playing with Lacazette, Ozil (who I think will sign) and a new Santi type player, he will get the best from them, and them from him. A risk but he may just decide he wants us more than we want him! Don't get me wrong, Sanchez is a great player, but not £400k pw great!

By the way like a div I just replied to a post to Dags about the FA cup which he posted in January 2015. I forgot I was looking at the archives page at the time. LOL😂
Anyhow if anyone's interested Dags asked whether the FA Cup had lost its magic and i basically replied that I think only the final should be played at Wembley with the semis being played at neutral grounds and go back to playing it on a Saturday.
Getting to Wembley was always a special moment and they should try and claw that feeling back.
