5-0 today against our biggest rival.

We will definitely be Champions next season 🤔🤔.

The season after next and if not the one after that for certain, well I say certain almost certainly and if not :-)

So it’s next season is our season, jeez who knew, well you obviously, but beside you who?

Is it really true, I guess tune in next season to find out. Oh the suspense. 😱😉.

Mavropanos was man of the match today - great performance. Stood his ground, won his battles and cool head

Another quality game from PEA - what edge would he have given us against AM.

No Ozil today - injured, just as he was for the AM game but we had no choice but to risk him

Lovely send off for Wenger today - shame TH14 never made it

Its a shame the big lad has been kept back and some of his peers have been allowed to play, while under performing week after week. he's apparently been impressing for a while. I hope the new coach can have faith and help him with his future.

Let's not go OTT here boys, the United game was played like a friendly and Burnley were on Skeggy beach enjoying the bank holiday weather, he looks a decent prospect but there will be bigger much more competitive tests ahead, starting next Sunday against a Huddersfield who now know a win will keep them up.
Let's not do a Holding and Chambers on him by declaring him the best thing since sliced bread just yet.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2018 23:47:26
Gunner, i'm not going overboard pn him but from what I've seen he has the tools and should have been tried sooner for all sorts of reasons, in my opinion. Regarding Holding, i think he needs a bit of help and hasn't yet for me shown the potential of mavropanas. Chambers career was put into stutter mode by wenger playing him RB and leaving him exposed and roasted . My opinion on him is he will improve under a more structured coach and we will see big improvements in all. Wether they end up as regulars, that will be revealed in the next few seasons. None of them have deserved being made back up to the dross in front of them in the pecking order. Plus i suppose that the lack of midfield protection is another factor for the other pair have found it a babtism of fire at times. All three youngsters may now get the guidance.

All true Steve but with Holding and Chambers they were put on a pedestal by many then when they couldn't quite live up to people's dreams they got hammered for it.
They themselves never said they was all that but some fans did setting them up for an inevitable fall.

I have to say neither Holding or Chambers have ever looked as composed as Mavropeanos did today, he always took a couple of steps back when we lost the ball to survey the situation and then was vocal to get the team in to the right positions, when marking tight he was literally touch tight so as to know where his man was and he was aggressive but not dirty in his challenges both on the floor and in the air.
He looks miles ahead of the other two, if we were to get an older proven centre back to play next to him and show him the ropes a bit more I'd be surprised if he didn't make a very good centre back in no time at all.

Get the defence and midfield playing as an organised disciplined unit and even with what players we have we will be much closer to the top 4/ 5 next season than this, add 3 or 4 quality players to our midfield and defence and we might even make a real fight of being in the top 4 again this time next year.
No disrespect to our greatest ever manager but if Arsene was staying it would all be pretty pointless hoping for things to be different next season especially defensively but right now the world is our lobster and anything and everything is possible once again.

The world is our lobster? I have never heard of that as a saying.

{Ed007's Note - I think it was Arthur Daley or maybe Del Trotter that first coined the phrase.}

07 May 2018 13:42:16
You are right Ed - rest in peace George Cole ( Arthur Daley ) did come up with that:

"Don't you worry my son, from now on the world is your lobster. "

Said his son heard someone use it in a pub once and he laid £25 pounds for the line and used it in Arthur Dailey two years later - those were the days when TV was TV rather than fly on the wall cheap crap or celebrities answering easy questions for charity in the name of entertainment.

Bring back the big Christmas special shows link a Fools and Horses etc

Thanks for the trip down memory lane.

{Ed007's Note - Minder is shown on ITV3 or something and I record it on my TIVO box in the bedroom and watch it at night and it's still quality, especially the older ones with Terry in them. OFAH is growing a bit of a beard as it's never off one of the cable channels but again, it's still funny as hell even after seeing it so often, like Fawlty Towers. There's a lot of classic old shows shown on cable if you look for them.}

Great that's 6th place tied up. Get in there! . Top four getting really exciting now, someone is going to be as pissed as us next week. Probably really pissed. Lol.

Olly obviously would have been thinking of us first and foremost as he scored the goal that might yet ruin Spurs season completely:-)

Gunner, spuds and liverpool must be chewing their nails.

06 May 2018 20:55:38
Wow I hadn't realised how precarious Liverpools top 4 place had become Steve, it's in Spurs and Chelsea own hands now, I suppose the good news is if Liverpool do snatch 5th place from the jaws of success the premier league could once again have 5 teams in next seasons champions league if Liverpool beat Real, mind you if they don't manage to win the champions league or finish top 4 what an anticlimax to a season that had previously looked so amazing for them.
To end up in the Europa league next season would be a very difficult pill for Liverpool to have to swallow and could seriously take a bit of shaking off in time not to carry a hangover from into next season.
I had no idea they'd slipped into that situation league wise mate.

06 May 2018 21:40:54
I think now gunner all three will be having trouble swallowing their pills mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2018 21:53:34
Still in pool hands. If they beat Brighton they will finish four due to superior goal difference.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2018 22:03:19
I think of the 3 Chelsea would cope best Steve, they've been playing catch up for ages so to even get close is a positive end to the season plus they are no strangers to seesaw title to obscurity back to champions seasons.
Spurs will be shaken silly if they miss out but the move back to white heart Lane would gloss over deflect the disappointment quite a bit but Poch would be on thin ice next season with a poor start and no champions league wallpaper.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2018 22:14:20
Spanner after their last two games, they won't be brimming with confidence. Just got to win one of their last two games then. Easy.

Agree0 Disagree0

06 May 2018 22:17:45
Yeah your right spanner mate, I'd either read the table wrong or got me adding up less than correct :-)
The table never lies over 38 games and all teams finish where their overall performances earned, but to end up in the Europa would be harsh on Liverpool all the same.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - yeah but we could all have a good laugh though mate..

06 May 2018 22:30:31
I think you boys could still out happy everyone this season if Sam is replaced Ed025 mate, you know that feeling when you win all 38 league games plus both domestic cups plus the champions league? Well you might feel that way soon mate:-)

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - you need to lay off the drugs G62.. :)

06 May 2018 23:12:06
Comon mate if Sam goes this summer surely it will feel as if you'd won all those things plus won euro millions triple rollover and got a golden buzzer on Britain's got talent :-)

Anyone who's didn't feel anything close to tears by Arsenes words needs to check there pulse.
My head remains totally certain there was no other way forward for the club but my heart truly wishes there had been.
Arsene Wenger is and will always be the stand alone Arsenal legend above any and all others.

06 May 2018 20:24:56
My sentiments exactly 62.So wish he could have signed off with a Europa League trophy.
For SAF wishing you a speedy recovery,
Two true legends who I hope will be able to reminise in the coming years about fergie v Wenger years.

Absolutely - Wenger was quite emotional when he spoke and truly is a legend. Lovely that he mentioned SAF at the start of his speech - class guy.

Wenger - I salute you and thank you for everything you gave us. You truly deserve the invincible trophy 🏆.

It was a great atmosphere to send him off on, very emotional I actually felt gutted knowing that this was the only way forward.
Pure class to wish Fergie well before he even started his speech.
I just wish I knew what he said when the mic stopped working.
