Not exciting admittedly Sano mate but probably necessary.
Sam and Tony Pulis aren't fashionable but they are extremely effective at what they do.

That's what I mean. Obviously worried about the drop.

Agreed mate and they are right to be too, Everton and West ham could easily be championship sides next season if they make a poor choice in their next manager, personally if I was them I wouldn't go big brave and bold I'd go safe in the short term.

Wenger nearly bought him, but said he was to small (when he was 9 )

January we need to get rid of players to trim
The squad for the next manager

Ozil
Sanchez
Debuchy
Walcott
Coquelin.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2017 22:01:19
You forgot, giroud, wilshire, holding, chambers, xhaka, iwobi basically most of the rotten squad.

Agree0 Disagree1

06 Nov 2017 22:07:48
You could easily add Iwobi and Xhaka plus Ramsey to that list.
The problem is how much would we get for them?
Iwobi 10 million?
Walcott zero Because of his wages
Mesut 10 million because he's available for free in the summer
Sanchez 20 million for the same reason as Ozil
Debuchy free
Le Coq 10 million because without Caz he struggles
Xhaka 17 million half what we paid for him if anyone would pay that much?
A huge clear out would mean a huge investment to replace them and a huge deficit in money received for money spent.
Our assets have depriciated considerably and our liabilities are overwhelming.

I always said to you Steve xhaka has potential and you and many fans unfairly criticise him.

I aplogise to you all I was wrong!

If you are talking about payers that need to be replaced we could probably scrape together a 5 a side team after its done! Its that desperate.

We all knew before the season started we were a long way short which is why it surprises me that Arsene so far has shown prioty to the league over Europa and league cups in his team selections.
There will be no glory found in our league campaign that's for sure so he would be far better off trying to win as many cups as possible in order to soften a 5th to 7th place finish .
Top 4 is and always has been a very long shot for our current setup given the competition for those top 4 places.
5th and no cups will only making him an easier target for his ever increasing critics.

We need 5 new players minimum.

Summed it up in a nutshell G62 like Dags said very true and very sad. Just can't believe that that its come to this.
Just also like to say to my nearest local football team Heybridge Swifts even though
you lost 3-1 in the first rd fa cup you can be very proud of yourselves.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

06 Nov 2017 16:43:19
Things will improve Heybridge mate amd I think until they do we just have to find a bit of excitement where ever we can get it, well done the swifts getting to the fist round proper is no mean feat mate.
Personally I'm quite enjoying yakinf an interest in the 3 promoted teams plus Burnley in the premier league thus season, Huddersfield and Brighton as well as Burnley all seem to be extremely well organised, well they do so far at least;-) long way to go but so far I'm impressed by all 3 of them.

Well 62, I did say id pop back come rain or shine.

Your team needs a major overhaul. probably about half a billion required, Sanchez and Ozil off. Cech finished and then there's your defence.

ps Ramseys not good enough either.

back to 4 points.

#finished.

06 Nov 2017 09:54:43
You did indeed Nes and indeed you have popped back in rain for us and shine for you :-)
Your not wrong in your assessments but the truth is nobody is that upset by days like yesterday anymore and should we beat you in the next game nobody will get too carried away by that either, yes we would enjoy the day but equally know the next underwhelming performance wasn't far away.
Arsenal are a club in limbo and people are simply waiting for change to happen before anyone can get to excited or deflated by results either way.
I think almost everyone Arsenal fans as well football fans in general accept than nothing is going to change under Arsene so it's just a waiting game until either Arsene the board or the fans decide enough is enough.
This could be 2 years away or 10 years in truth no one knows about the future because it hasn't happened yet, my guess is intimately it will lots of empty seats on a regular basis that will finally be the deciding factor because neither the manager or owner seem to unhappy with life at Arsenal in general, on the day Arsene is disapointed of course but he soon gets over it and looks towards the next game simply because he's pretty happy in his job.

Sadly, very true.

North they are definitely not finished, they still have a very good squad and all they need is a young fresh manager as Wenger is starting to look outdated and is struggling to keep up with the younger managers in the league.

Spot on Raver I agree 100%, it's ridiculous to declare Arsenal finished! Arsenal under Arsene may well be finished as a competitive club but Arsenal football club will come again as will clubs like Leeds Liverpool and Everton.
Who knows what the future holds for any club but the past is as good as guide as anyone can realistically use and the term sleeping giant a applies To Arsenal Leeds Newcastle Everton and I might add Spurs to some extent who haven't won a title for a couple of generations but who certainly look the most likely to wake up of all the big clubs who could realistically be kings.
All the clubs mentioned above have been more than a decade without a title and most haven't even seriously challenged for it during the last decade either but all are equally only the right manager and owner combination away from doing so once again.

Good post 62,

Banter aside, its quite sad what is happening to you lot. Especially given that your club was ran the right way for such a long time. not mega spending like the City, Chelsea, Uniteds of the world.

Wenger should have gone, and the rebuild should already have begun.

Agree1 Disagree2

06 Nov 2017 15:41:14
I agree Nes mate we should have acted as while back but hey ho no one can rewind the hands of time as much as we would all like to at times.
It is sad to see the whole thing unfold very publicly into more and more of baffling nonsense and watch us simply carry on like this for no apparent footballing reason, sad for the fans sad for the club and every bit as sad to watch the once brilliant Arsene continue to lose his credibility little by little each week month and season.
The fact is Arsene can't find it in himself to call it a day and no one has either the heart or the inclination to do it for him.

True post north, when Arsenal had the invincibles I took my hat off to them as they done it in style and didn't spend billions like Chelsea or man city to win the league. I know Chelsea have had massive success the last 10 years but I still find it hard to give them the credit for it. Take roman away and they would be a top 6 club at best.

Slovak mate I don't think there is any harm in us admiring what Spurs are doing, it's not so much being jellous as wanting to emulate and exceed what Poch is doing there.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 01:53:28
Raver take Roman away and Chelsea are bankrupt.

that's the sad part 62, Wenger has done amazing for you lot and he will remembered for staying too long.

Fergie knew when his time was up due to the weaknesses in the United team. how he won he league with that team, for me was his best title.

07 Nov 2017 01:54:18
hindsight’s a wonderful thing though, imagine Wenger going and replacing him with someone like United did, David Moyes. The truth is how many top managers are available and willing to go to Arsenal right now (not bashing arsenal by the way just a genuine question)

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Nov 2017 08:08:50
It's a good point JBLP, and what manager worth his salt would accept Arsene moving upstairs and still having an input?
Arsene no longer being manager might only be the begining of bringing about change and if could take a good few years after gives up the top job to see real change if he simply moves to a different position within the club and still pulls many of the string's which I suspect might be the plan long term.

Wenger spoke a while back of how he turned down Manchester United to stay at Arsenal, now I don't think he'd be offered the job at Macclesfield.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

{Ed001's Note - actually, at that level he would be the perfect manager. Clubs in the lower leagues are all struggling financially and would love a manager who could ensure consistent profits year on year. He should drop down the leagues and be a legend for life!}
