Seeing us linked with Dembele again - €100m! Would love to see the guy here but we don't have a spare 100m plus wages to invest on a luxury player.

If I look at the team from the other night and put PEA into the mix -

Cech - Bellerin - Mustafi - Kos - Monreal

*** must replace Mustafi and Kos with quality centre halves.

*** need a plan to replace Monreal and Cech but would be ok if wait a year IF we use that money wisely

Xhaka - Rambo - Jack

*** like this set up as Jack offers pace and forward movement. Rambo offers engine, late runs plus goals. Xhaka sits deep, keeps possession and nice passes.

*** not sure the personnel are the right person. Xhaka is too unreliable and Jack is too injury prone to have them as our first 11 options.

*** must replace Xhaka and Jack to truly compete and have a settled quality set up

Ozil - Mkhitaryan - Lacca / PEA

Like these options



*** so for me we must get 2 centrehalves and sort the middle of midfield out first

We are still just 2 players away, 2 CBs 2 cmf players 2 replacements for Cech and Monreal and 2 players to replace Aaron and Jack should they decide not to renew thier contacts.
So close and yet so far :-)

We need a whole new defence a replacement for xhaka and a coach who can help them. Bellerin kos mustaffi and monreal could easily go this summer. Chambers holding and kol, i would take as squad players to start with and see if a new coach could get them to improve. The front line and attacking mid players are capable when in the mood against anyone. I also think maitland niles could be coached to play right back to help with replacing the defence from in house.

To be fair our defence is poor but any defence that gets as little protection as ours is going to struggle.
It's a combination midfield that doesn't have a DM and doesn't work hard enough without the ball not just a disorganised undisciplined incapable defenders.

I agree gunner and that's why i am not rushing to change goalkeepers. If the midfield was tighter and the defence was tighter, the goalkeeper might be less exposed and be allowed to do his job.

It's true Steve mate, Cech isn't the keeper he once was but no keeper would look brilliant if left as exposed as he is in almost every game.
If we got the 4 players SY talks about 2 CBs and 2 solid midfielders who see stopping goals as every bit as important as scoring them we might see a much more capable Petr Cech again, well as long as we also had someone organising and motivating them all to that is :-) .

At Chelsea he had little to do but kept his concentration - if we sort out the defence that’s the type of keeper we need. He’s still got a year in him and does look in good shape. Top priorities are the defensive spine. We just don’t have the 💰💰💰💰💰 needed to do all the changes

Discipline, attitude and movement will be key to how that translates to success - even the 4 - 1 on Thursday had some very scary defensive lapses.

We don't have the money to buy the best of the best SY mate but do we need the best of the best to show huge improvement?
4 good buys who know what they are doing, 4 players who hold thier positions and play the whistle rather that keep looking at the linesman and ref to save them would bring something different to the table for us.
Add a new much more tactically aware coach who isn't best mates with but very very much the boss of the players and next season with 10 games to go we might actually have something to play for in the league.
