Why do we have to wait through to the end of the month before we sign a player......The other thing is the Walcott situation....the talks resumed last week and are reputed both partys are not far apart....Arsenal keep the dealings behind closed doors so don't expect anything to come from a third party....Wenger has more power than any other manager in europe....he sets the wage limits....it will be down to him to give the go ahead to to increase the offer not the CEO, or the board.....km

There is no chance that Tomas Rosicky will leave the club this month. He is a player Arsene Wenger admires, I really don't know where these rumours have come from.

Believable6 Unbelievable2

Well, the fact that he's been rumoured away from the club for nearly two years, the fact that Roma considered a £5m bid in November, and the fact that he is fit, we need him yet he isn't playing games would be the reasons why people think he might be off.

David Villa will need to score at least a goal for every million he will cost. 15 goals would be nice but we've got too many atrikers and walcott will need to interchange/rotate with him

Ha.... Sorry, for a minute there I thought you said we had too many strikers. Oh you did? We've loaned them all out coz they're crap.

Villa is much better than our strikers and theo aint a proper striker yet 3 goals againt newcastle don't do it for me when he starts scoring consistantly then i might believe in him but right now i don't and to be honest if theo wants to leave then let him he will only flop like all the others except rvp who seems to be doing well

Presumably as Arsene believes that his wage structure is beneficial, conversely he believes that all other teams have a problematic wage structure?

This is a hot topic on the net at the moment - Arsene chose a really poor time to try and win accolades with a dwindling idealist fan base and I think it's totally backfired - I think he wanted fans to be proud. Again he has come out and said he is basically in control. Except to me it no longer sounds like he is covering for the board - he seems genuine. I am not sure I believe he really is covering for the board. I am starting to believe he calls the shots, but the issue with the board is that they are so passive and out of touch that they never question his decisions. Are they really not releasing money? Call me naive but after all this time I am starting to not read between the lines on this. What if it really is Arsene? We will never know I suppose.

In a nutshell, his admission is embarrassing. Arsene seems to think that doing things differently to everyone else somehow warrants accolades and blind support from the fans - yet it has the same cringe-inducing impact as when Gazidis speaks on behalf of us fans, ever. It reminds me of those moments in Dragon's Den when someone comes up with an idea that nobody else is doing, thinking it'll land them investment, but then all 5 Dragon's bow out and the sole feedback is that nobody else is doing it for a very good reason. Some clubs have a sensible compromise, for example Liverpool, who spelled it out to Sterling recently, but which other clubs are as socialist as we are?

I get called an idealist a lot- I am quite a traditional guy and I let my ideals cloud my judgement sometimes too. I have had to accept that the world doesn't run on ideals alone, and I have to be more realistic. I think Arsene is an extreme idealist in a realist world. He would rather spend 2 years producing a player knowing it will cost us points and silverware, than buy a ready-made player. That's just one example. The wage structure where everything is 'fair' is another. However, it doesn't work. The 3rd best striker on the planet will not see being paid a paltry amount more than one of the lamest wingers in football as 'fair'. Also, players have the ability to look beyond the club at the competition. Football is a profession. People make career moves. Ours will move away if they can gain more elsewhere.

The strangest thing of all is that Arsene pretty well publicly conceded that having a socialist wage bill is expensive. And we know it is. The finances tell us it is. He can't deny it, but it's another thing being proud of it. Paying out loads of £50kpweeks but no £150kpweeks is proving to be a more expensive bill than some clubs have who pay one or two massive wage packages, the majority in the 50s but a significant chunk in the U50s category - something we hardly do. Arsene conceded by saying 'If you can afford to do it [the socialist structure], then you do it.' The scary thing is he is proud of it. But he is only seeing a fraction of the whole - he sees it as 'Come to Arsenal FC where you can earn massive money!'

However, top players see it as 'Come to Arsenal where can earn up to half what your peers earn elsewhere and win nothing due to our lack of competitiveness!'

Average, poor or young players see it as 'Come to Arsenal, where you can be totally overpaid, see out your contract if you under-perform, use the club as a stepping stone and kick start your career and financial gain!'

Is it not bizarre that he would so publicly concede that he is happy to throw away these funds in order to keep a level playing field (har har) in the camp? Who works for who at Arsenal? Sometimes I feel as if Wenger works for the players, not the other way round. This over-bearing fathering has always cost us, we know that, but on occasion it has been understandable - sometimes you simply have to make a choice between business and morals, I get that. But not ALWAYS, as a bloody cross to bear.

If doing things differently, just to BE different, is costing us quality on the pitch and progression as a club, this needs to change, or we need to win things. Seeing as we won't win things, it needs to change.

Will it change with Wenger at the club? Will it change with Gazidis at the club? And will it change with Kroenke as owner?

I don't believe so. All I know is I would much rather have some players on small wages, some on reasonable wages and a clutch of world class players on massive wages, we reduce the bill, and progress as a club and dust off the cabinet.

other teams say they are interested in a player then go out & sign them in a matter of days, arsenal on the other hand say they like players scout them & then let other prem teams buy them!! wake up arsenal we are on the verge of NOT being top 4 status anymore... buy now b4 its too late... mvila (diaby to injury prone) is a must villa & lopez must surly be signed too arsenal need thesr players then the fans will believe in the squad once more..

Believable11 Unbelievable3

The issue is we are basically to careful and do far too much analysis into a player before we sign them. We never take that little risk on player and have to scout them at least 100 Times to be sure. Partly this is down to our tight financial contraints that the board have put on Wenger so he can't afford to sign players that make a loss if they do not make it (Or at least very few that can).

Also though I think Wenger by nature is very careful in his approach and plays safe rather take a risk. He is the type of person that checks everything is off twice before leaving the house. He doubts himself too much rather than being confident and sure of himself sometimes.

There is a Arsenal value of player which is often much less than a market value of a player which we will not go beyond simply because we do not take on the risk of possible financial loss in selling on a player for.

Agree2 Disagree0

To be fair most of the time its just the media that link us with players, then they sit back and watch us fans rip each other to shreds over why we didn't sign this guy or that guy.

I know its taboo to speak of Football manager, but we all been in the position of having 250 players on the shortlist all described as wonderkids and before you know it you've blown the budget on 12 wonderkid left wingers. Fact is we will miss out on some whilst getting others, lets just hope we get more Santi's and less Yao Kouassi's

Hi guys, this is a long piece, and hope it is posted

Firstly i would like to say please stop plucking names of players that you would like arsenal to sign, it doesn't help transfer chances, nor does it help anyonelse's optimism.

Now onto my main part : who, realistically are we going to sign?
Firstly, the goalkeeping position, we have szczesny, he will not be replaced by anyone! Hes is young, reliable and an excellent keeper, we also have back-up in mannone who is reliable enough and also have martinez coming through the ranks.
Secondly, defenivesly we won't sign anyone, we have sagna in right back, who willbe replaced by carl jenkinson in future. In centre-back we have koscielny, vermaelen and also mertesacker, there will be no yanga-mbiwa. This is because we have 3 good rotating centre backs who are all very phisically fit. Miquel is also coming up and gaining experience. Now in the left-back position we have gibbs, who i believe is a very good capable left back and is not well credited! He is much an exciting prospect as wilshere! He is also young. Santos can fill in for him reasonably well. Now to midfield, i personally feel we need a DM because arteta, wilshere and cazorla are all too alike in their playing styles. However i do not feel we will add to our midfield depth as we have diaby back from injury and also coquilan who is a DM, i personally feel Coquelan is not good enough, but thats down to mr.Wenger. JUST A QUICK QUESTION : who do you feel diaby will replace in our starting line-up?Finally we have our front 3, on the right wing is oxlade-chamberlain who i feel has been poor recently, not much attacking ideas, we also have walcott who can play there when needed. We then have the forward position, with walcott starting recently with giroud as a back up. THE ONLY POSITION I FEEL COULD BE IMPROVED BY TRANSFERS, this is because if walcott doesn't sign a new contract, we would need a new striker. Now on the left wing, Podolski is doing fairly well, and all our front 3 can rotate their postions.

I would like some transfers, but i feel wengers notes our depth of squad, and Mr.Wenger will not spend money unless he must, I.E if walcott leaves.

Thank you for reading, hope its not too long, its my first post and i am an arsenal season ticket holder.

Believable2 Unbelievable16

I honstly can't believe you said santos can fill in reasonably well. stopped reading after that, please get a grip.

Agree8 Disagree0

I agree that I can't see Wenger buying a CB or Striker in this window certianly unless Walcott does leave.

There is definate need for a more physical Dm to balance the midfield better and allow us to rotate the small technical guys (Arteta, Wilshire, Carzorla and the rest). Diaby is never fit so we can't rely on him and besides he is not a naturel DM either (He is better as a Attacker midfielder as it stands). Couquelin still has a lot to learn and is better as a fullback. Frimpong Not convinced by either seems too ill-disiplined.

We need more physicallty in midfiedl to allow us to keep the skillful players fresher each game so they are at 100% every game.

Agree3 Disagree0

Are you serious we need a decent keeper, we need a decent right back, we need a decent left back, we need a solid center half.do you honestly think the german is good enough.we need a leader in the middle who has pace and won't be bullied

Agree1 Disagree1

Hi D,

I'm not sure, but I had heard we are striking up a nice kit deal with Adidas. It's far more lucrative than the Nike deal and the link to the October article is here:

www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams /arsenal/9634840/ Arsenal-set-to-sign-25-million -shirt-deal-with-adidas.html

The link to the kits is here:

soccerlens.com/adidas-arsenal -2014-15-leaked/100574/

This is another deal that is up for renewal and apparently Nike are not prepared to match Adidas as we've won nothing for ages. However we might be using Adidas much like Huntelaar used us to get an improved deal at Schalke.

So I won't believe anything until it's officially announced but even if it's not going to happen, I actually quite like those kits! I tend to hate Adidas stuff, or anything with those stripes on, so yeah, all told I'm pretty happy if that's what 2014 brings.

Is it just me, or would the most obvious, and realistic transfer be Fellaini? Yes, he would cost a club record £20-25m, BUT, Everton need the money, and his value will only increase, as he is still only 24!

He would be exactly what we need in mid-field, Vieira-esque! And could you imagine him and Diaby in the centre together!

We all know it won't happen, i'm just dreaming, but, still...he would be the perfect signing for us in Jan!

Dan

Believable12 Unbelievable4

Everton want Rosicky. So £20m plus rosicky for fellani!! We can dream lol

Agree2 Disagree2

Thing is about this club record talk is that money is not worth what it was years ago. Add to that the price of talent has skyrocketed far beyond the rate of inflation and it's pretty obvious that what you got for £10m 5-10 years ago you now have to pay a lot more for.

So if we're to sign like for like quality then it stands to reason that contract issues aside, we need to be paying more for players as the years go on. So if we won't pay over a certain amount out of principle alone then we can expect the calibre of that player, on the whole, to slip. I know this won't be the case all the time and Michu is a perfect example of this. I think this club record thing is hindering us - why is it significant to break the record when the average top midfielder is usually at least £15-20m? There's no justifiable reason in terms of the team's progression to keep our transfers below the record. If our record was £40m and we broke it that would be significant for sure - but £15m for a first team starter when Bayern, Madrid, Man you etc are all paying £30m for their players on occasion just makes us look like minnows.

Agree5 Disagree0

Felaini would be an awesome aquisition, imagine him in tandem with Abu Diaby in the centre of a 4 man midfield with the Ox & Cazorla, either side. I would play Wilshere in a free role off Giroud.

My take on a fairly good transfer window as the squad looks right now. As i have stated many times before i would love for us to get our hands on Wanyama of Celtic. He looks like the steal we need in the def-center mid position. Secondly i would like for walcott to sign a new deal. Thirdly i would like us to sign Zaha as he would be a great winger for the future. My expectation might be low but i think this would make our team more balance and would leave us options to go forward. The 442 formation would of course be great and leaving Sagna on the bench for some time would not hurt anyone. Stating the obviously really. I really think it is harsh on Jenkinson to not se the pitch after Sagnas comeback, especially since Jenkinson really started to look solid. He brings alot of heart to the right back spot, something that Sagna has lacked since his return. So Wanyama, Theo and Zaha would make me smile. I think this would be good additions, with walcott signing and hopefully my favorite footballer in Arsenal Diaby staying fit for more than 4 weeks. Rant out

we had about 2 wingers on d bench but still he prefared 2 start ramsey as a LWF. ramsey didn't have a totally bad game though, must ramsey play? I just think the lad should b loaned.tbh I don't see him ever being a regular in the arsenal midfield only if wenger chooses to favour him.

Question, how many matches have we won, when we started with this formation:

Ramsey Wide, Giroud Center, 1 true wide player.

I would be surprised if we won any...

Agree7 Disagree0

The worst thing is that The Ox has actually just started to play well recently too. Poor guy gets benched for Ramsey, I mean seriously wtf.

Agree6 Disagree1

I think he Should be put down, he's as much use as a square football, got the pace of a coma victim, the vision of a blind person, and the finishing ability of a gazelle on roller skates.
Apart from that, I think he's mustard!

Agree8 Disagree6

Ramsey played well. Had a much better game than cazorla and alot of our other players.

I'm sure some people just want to pick on the kid, i just hope he doesn't read this website.

Agree9 Disagree1

Wenger has always favoured a combination of options wide. Ray Parlour was never a winger yet he often played there, often instead of one of Pires/Ljungberg who would be on the bench.

I do not think Wenger would play with Ramsey and Podolski as the wide players as neither is a winger.

Wenger has often played players who would prefer to play through the middle wide. Normally young strikers (like a teenage Henry at Monaco) or several attacking midfielders who were actually signed to play there Hleb, Rosicky, Nasri and Arshavin

Agree1 Disagree1

Just because he was on the ball more doesn't mean he had a better game. He gave away a foul every 5 mins, deserved to be booked, didn't create anything, his passing was off - fine so he had a better game than usual, woopdidoo, he is playing at a horrible standard at the moment. I'm not saying he was the only one yesterday because he wasn't but he was poor.

Agree5 Disagree4

Even if he could read, he'd probably miss it!

Agree1 Disagree0

Henry played through the middle at Monaco, Juve stuck him on the wing!

Agree1 Disagree0

Guys you can't compare Henry to Ramsey!

Henry was one of the fastest most composed, skilful and technically adept players the world has ever seen. He could take it from defence past 5 players and bang it in after toying with a defender for a bit.

To suggest Ramsey out wide is acceptable use of a player just because Henry could do it is misguided.

Ramsey sucks out wide.

Evening Eds, I have been away for a while but always follow the site, been ages since my last post always keep a eye on the banter tho as it is very amusing sometimes ppl saying who we r signing.

Every year it's 1-2 players, the missing pieces, then we seem to plug the gap the then sell our best players, it's been a vicious circle for a good 8 odd years. Slowly our players have not been of the same quality.

And we look to have fallen behind, but kept in touch with 4th place. Ill take champs league year after year. What I can't handle is not being competitive with our main rivals in the PL. Seeing who other sides are linked with. Every transfer window I hope and pray we sign a couple of big names to take us into touching distance of the league and Champs league. My main problem is now we need these players to finish 4th.

Stay blessed

Wenger's quote: "If we find one or two players then the squad can cope. I like to have a balanced squad."

I think this actually says a lot, because we know Wenger's policy or typically having a 1 out, 1 in approach.

So logically - this means 1 striker / 1 defender (or defensive player) coming in. Without going into names and speculations, one consideration then becomes, the fact the we probably won't sign a DM unless he is very versitile.

Also - I have noticed that Wenger has not said the he need to re-balance the squad, which supports my belief.

If I had to guess: Adrian Lopez (ST) / Young french unheard of defender (not Mbwia).

Billybob

Believable1 Unbelievable4

Yeah, but in the summer we sold song, bit not replaced him, so may be we can expect a Dm too

Well, a midfielder went out and another came in (Cazorla). It isn't exactly a 1 for 1, but that was a rebalancing.

Yeah, but wasn't Arshavin cup tied when we bought him?

To be 100% honest, I think the CL this year is a if it happens, it happens scenario.

Wenger is probably more concerned about getting 4th as a minimum.

What annoyed me the most during yesterdays game, was WHY do we keep letting Theo take our corners and free-kicks!? You have Santi, Arteta, and Jack on the pitch, all 3 are set piece specialist's.
I'm sorry but just becasue he now plays up top, and can finish does not mean he can take free-kicks.
We wasted at least 4 dangerous set-pieces having Theo taking them yesterday.

Walcott is trying to prove his worth because he too realises his pace is his biggest attribute. So now he tries to be our set piece taker so we can need him to do something else but run really quickly.

Arteta and Cazorla scored from more free kicks last season than Theo has his whole career.

He is trying too hard to be our talisman

Agree6 Disagree0

Walcott should play in the Olympics instead, because he can't pass a defender he is not technical enough.
he only has pace one good game ten poor games.

Agree7 Disagree2

Add it to the list of why questions my friend.

My do we play a CM at R or L wing?
Why is Theo allowed to drift into the middle forcing Giroud out wide when we're playing 433?
Why do our most dangerous players not play in forward positions (e.g. Santi instead of Ramsey, e.g. Podolski instead of Ramsey, e.g. Jack and Arteta rotating while another midfielder holds? etc etc)
Why is our CF as he likes to think taking corners? He is not a dead ball specialist in any way shape or form. OK some of his distance free kicks and corners have been nice, fair dos, but why isn't Santi taking them?

Why why why why why why why why that seems to be the word on the tip of every Arsenal fan's tongue.

Why play with Mertesacker against one of the most mobile and fluid attacking sides in the league?

Agree5 Disagree2

Don't understand Walcott should play in Olympics post, Think your find Walcott has been voted Arsenal player of the month 3 times this season only times he hasn't won it is when he was injured or benched.

Agree0 Disagree1

It is like he is trying too hard to be Thierry Henry, I appreciate the fact that he is trying to prove his worth, but his worth isn't taking our set-pieces.
Either that or Wenger is doing all he can to get him to sign, take the set-pieces Theo, play up top Theo, you do the match interview Theo.
I want him to sign, but I do not want to be held ransom by a player who is easily replaceable.

Hey guys

I watched a bit of the Atletico game last night to see what Adrian Lopez is like. I havent seen him before so this is an observation from 1 game. I have to say, I was slightly impressed. He started on the left but was constantly moving across the front 3 finding space, and his passing looked decent in tight spaces. Also when he needed to, he had pace to burn. Granted he did not sprint a lot, but when he took a defender on he usually outpaced them with ease.
As I said, this was 1 game, and he looked pretty decent. Whether he is what we need is another question.

Gutted that spuds are getting holtby, remy and m'vila off to QPR, actually think wilshere would benefit if cazorla wasn't there and I no that sounds crazy but were never going to play 442 with both in the team. Wilshere is playing too deep at the moment. Wanyama looks a quality player but I want to see proven prem players. David villa been linked is good news but he's too old now. I would rather we went all out for a top top striker. We should never of let all our superstars run there contracts down and lose them rvp, song, Nasri, are too good to lose. Cesc was always leaving. But atleast he went to Spain and didn't strengthen our rivals! Our club is in a crisis and it needs to have a serious think about our future coz at the moment Nasri, ash cole are both right saying we have no ambition anymore!

ClockEndClockEndGiveUsaWave

Agree1 Disagree0

Aw: if we find players who will really strengthen us because we [already] have a good squad. if we find an exceptional player, then we will take him. there you have it. aw believes we have a good squad. which planet aw is on? arsenal needs a major overhaul to undo what aw did to it. we are out of cl (in 2-3 weeks time), out of pl (7 years ago), and timidly trying to compete for the fa cup (to no avail with the likes of ramsey). let ba go and stick with giroud, because he signed him sums it up. aw shall not admit he is the major and potentially the main culprit to this debacle. no pressure from us the gooners means a certainty of mid-table mediocrity.

since my beloved arsenal had sadly become an english football prostitute to kroenke and his henchmen profiteers like gazidis. their motivation is extracting money from what was once a footballing institution. the problem is that they do not invest like in citi, chelski or man utd and therefore we must demand that the russian benefactor (usmanov) be on the board with an investment control of £500 mill. if this happens, and only investnment led profiteers are allowed then we will surely compete for the likes of llorente, falcao, dzeko, pastore, sneijder, cavani, arda, neymar, etc. we pay more at the gates than man utd supporters. under the circumstances aw is the only manager (also profiteers on his meagre salary) prepared to work under kroenke and his henchmen and they would never sack him because he (by default) and them are one. our only option is to boycot and stay at the gates demanding usmanov's investment, unless kroenke does the unthinkable and matches usmanov's investment of at least £500mill (world class fees and wages). psg, man utd, chelski, spuds (nearly there). who are we to say no these days. he who dares wins.

we no longer attract top players because while we have good players, sadly only too few.

thuth is our squad is 1 decent gk, 3 good defenders, one soon to signa off, santi, jack & arteta, podlski and the ox. that is 9 players who deserve to wear the arsenal shirt. another 15 are needed all over the place.

mr wenger will never expose his bad judgment and get rid of the deadwood forest he ammassed. that is why he was only happy to commit suicide and re-sign ram-say for another 5 tropy_less years.

Agree2 Disagree0

He is a good player but likes partying and breaking club rules. another balotelli?

Agree0 Disagree0

Guys, look at it differently - Sniejder, a £30m-quality player is going for £6m.

He is on £6m a year according to the guardian, £200kpw (£10.4m) according to people on here. I'll tend to believe the guardian on this one. That's £115kpw.

But for sake of arguments let's say he is on £10m a year. He's 28 so imagine we offer him a 3-year contract. That's a total of £36m for one of the best midfielders in Europe to come and play for us for 3 years - hardly breaking the bank, Santi has cost us the same.

However, if the guardian are right and he's not on 200k but closer to 115k per week then again:

£6m fee.
3 years at £6m a year = £18m.
Total to have Sneijder playing with us for 3 years = £24m, which I believe he is probably still worth.

So when people sit there saying 'wages are a stumbling block' that's only true IF the club takes the short view. And this is a prime example of why our wage structure needs to change. It's all very well paying Henry whatever we did back then and then saying 'yeah we do do it on occasion' but in reality we don't do it often enough.

For the last season we've had subs on higher wages than first team regulars. I am pretty sure Santos is paid £20kpw more than Gibbs. Considering wages are technically not only confidential but also it is technically against company policy and therefore illegal for players to discuss their wages, there is literally zero reason why anyone would have to know what we paid Sneijder to play for us.

The only reason Sneijder will not walk through the doors at the Emirates at the end of the month is because AFC does not want him to. There is no other reason. It's not the fee, it's not the wages. {Ed002's Note - Seijders request id for 120M euros net of deductions.}

Agree3 Disagree0

Perhaps we should get 200 gooners to chip in a pound a week to pay his wages..........i would happily do it !

1404 {Ed002's Note - Judging by you math you are a Liverpool supporter.}

Agree4 Disagree0

Ed when you say his request is for 120m Euros - do you mean over the duration of his next contract? Cheers. {Ed002's Note - Sorry, it should have been 120k net per week. The key point is it needs to be net of all deductions.}

Agree0 Disagree0

If he wanted £200 a week I don't think a fan contribution would be needed.

Agree3 Disagree0

OK thanks Ed.

So it's closer to 200k outlay for us then. Still, £36m for Sneijder for 3 years, is that to be sniffed at? {Ed002's Note - It is around about £11M per year in wages.}

Yesterdays game: We go 2-1 up with around 5 mins left of play, why didn't we sit back and retain the ball and see out the game with a win. No!We push on forward looking for the 3rd goa' and get caught with our pants down with slow Mert at the back. This should be a lessson to us if this was a derby game of champ-lge game we would of lost the game, because we would of went into 'panic' mode and start to pass the ball our opp-nts resulting in a easy goal. We need a to buy Wanama, Villa and M'bia to sort the team out.

Believable3 Unbelievable9

Yeah I think you're getting confused here pal. Don't pick and choose the order of the match's events at random to suit your rant.

I agree we should have sat back, kept the ball and seen the game out but realistically we aren't that good at doing that, also at what point in the game did we have 5 mins of total possession? There were still about 10 mins to play including injury time between us scoring our second and the final whistle. You think we're going to keep the ball for that long? We were in the ascendency and a third goal looked nailed on. It was a cup game not a prem game and we went for it and I am happy we did.

But more importantly, we weren't caught with our pants down - we had all our defenders back for a corner that we didn't defend properly, we went to sleep in our own box and got punished - we weren't caught with our pants down because Mert is too slow as you suggest.

Agree6 Disagree0

why does everyone focus on blaming Ramsey for everything bad that happens in a match? I know that he might not be up to standard, but he is playing completely out of position, and he is only young. I don't understand people defending him about his injury though. I was involved in a similar incident in rugby, where i broke 2 bones (tibia and fibula) in both of my legs, yet as soon as i got back to fitness, i was straight away out playing again, without the slightest hesitation.

Ramsey, for me, needs to go out on loan where he will get regular game time, and where he will get played in his normal position, in midfield. Somewhere like Wigan, or Norwich where they play a similar game to Arsenal, with nice passing.

People need to stop berrating Ramsey, and actually start supporting him. Its not his fault he's started out of position, its AW's.

East Anglian Gooner

Believable17 Unbelievable4

Not only is Ramsey played out of position, but many Arsenal players have been and are being played out of position. We desperately need to revert back to Wenger's fluid 4-4-2 system, with two tall central midfield players, such as Fellaini & M'Vila.
In respect of playing players out of position, Ramsey is a central midfield player, certainly not a wide left player. Gibbs is a quality midfield player, not a left back. Arteta & Wilshere are both better offensively and are not defensive midfield players. Podolski & Gervinho would play far better off Giroud, as would Arshavin. Wenger has ruined the likes of Chamakh & Bendtner by playing them in wide roles in his ineffective 4-3-3 formation.
