Apparently real put in a late bid for coutinio, which was blown out. If they are that desperate for someone in this window, i wouldn't be surprised at a bid for sanchez. Far better prem statistics than coutinio, in goals, chances created and assists. Just a thought.

Far cheaper too, about 25 mill? Or they could take him in summer for free? In La Liga they’re eprettt much done for so I’d expect summer moves. Any news on keeping Ozil? He actually seems to like it there.

Barca let him go for a reason - not a team player.

Can you imagine how many passes would be exchanged Ronaldo and Sanchez. the egos and strops would be hilarious.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jan 2018 00:49:01
Sanchez passing is shocking anyway probably wouldn’t reach ronaldo anyway.

08 Jan 2018 02:08:59
Sy, what an utter load of tripe, why does the manager of him at the time want him back so much, if that's the case. And wilred, he may give some stray passes but he has been involved in more goals this season, evem though it is his worse than any citeh player. that's a fact, not me saying it.

Agree2 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - Barca let Sanchez go because Messi and him do not get on.}

08 Jan 2018 11:46:40
Not disputing that. but for a professional football player how many times does he give the ball away he’s done it from the beginning he joined us. terrible passer of a ball the odd one does produce a goal I give you that.

Lichaj before the game, his wife promised him a "dog" if he scored a hatrick. Is that american for something else?

Get your dirty mind out the gutter.

Obviously a hot dog 😁.

After today's performance at Forest, we'd be lucky to have Jonny Evans joining us.

That's the last time I arrange my weekend around football, beside the fact Arsenal were very poor and a poor team selection, a moment of brilliance can win a game with has always made football exciting to watch, but the last three games there has been absolutely scandalous ref decisions which has been a major impact on the result of the game.

I've cancelled my sky sport and bt sport until VAR (video assistant referee) is introduced to the game so it's an even game and not what the ref thinks happened, many games this season (and not just Arsenal games) decisions have been shocking, and the whole "it evens itself out over a season" is a pathetic argument, if a wrong decision knocks a team out of a cup competition how can it even itself out then? Best of luck for the rest of the season.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Jan 2018 22:49:53
Var would not have made a jot of difference today. It will only change 100% wrongs in certain instances.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 23:00:02
You should be like the raver wodbod and arrange your weekends around Stringfellows, much less stressful and definitely more excitement and definitely more value for your money.

Iam slowing turning on Wenger unless he pulls somthing out of the bag this window that changes our season, I’ve always thought he would go this season even if he did sign a two year deal.

I can see a few more token bids at players. Maybe it’s not all we gets fault tho and obviously sh*t travels down? I don’t know just a thought.

It was a great finish - don’t take anything away from the forest player.

Kudos to lehaj for his brilliant goal, stunner. Mind you he had time on the edge of the box to bring it down do 10 keepie uppies, wave to his family and despatch a sublime shot.

And he pulled his socks up b4 the shot.

If you looked closely, you actually saw him also open his Christmas presents, book a 2 week all inclusive holiday to the Maldives, text his wife to tell her what time he was due home and take a selfie.

It's Robin hood coming through in his famous Subaru, well boys you had your pockets emptied today by a championship club while I was watching good old Harry Kane doing the business against the mighty dons to take us into the next round. I'm now in tiptop condition ready to drink more alcohol than Phil Mitchell after lining my guts with a good old Mr. Kipling cake as I'm having an exceedingly good day and a bowl of Kelloggs frosties as the raver is feeling GREAT.

Hopefully Southampton are still interested in wolly Walcott because he was awful and mertesacker should. Retire now none of these players are good enough for us.

07 Jan 2018 19:10:43
Not for the first time, our players didn't look like they really wanted to play for arsenal and some looked like it should be their last game. The manager has lost the players and is dragging the desire out of this team. No fight.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2018 19:27:40
Why does he even think a weakened team would win No other team does it.

Jelfy. Weakened team?
Them players have 600 first team appearances between them.

Sure, we had a lot of players out, but that performance was a shambles.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 20:27:53
Dags it was a weakened team not one of them players starts when we have a fully fit squad and it was a shambles with 600first team appearances that’s makes it worse.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 20:32:09
We only had 7 fa cup winners to their 1 fa cup final bench warmer.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 20:36:31
Jelfy,
I hear you mate, but we got comfortably turned over by an avarage Championship team, who haven't won in 5 games and who have lost their last 2 home games.

They deserve massive credit though.

07 Jan 2018 19:04:22
Surely the young kid we signed the other day has got to be better than what we put out today. If he's not we haven't got a chance.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - He is headed out on loan Steve.}

07 Jan 2018 19:21:36
Ed i know but couldn't he have played today. He was signed in time wasn't he. Couldn't have done any worse. Previous post just a rant really.

{Ed002's Note - He was signed and registered in time Steve.}

My goodness we can't defend for toffee. Notts Forest playing the standard and mostly successful playbook against us, defend deep and narrow and hit on the break.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2018 14:27:59
Lets hope the jonny evans story is media medalling and we don't get him. We will all be happy then. With the fact we haven't got him.

Believable2 Unbelievable0

07 Jan 2018 15:10:22
I hope not too, but it would be typical for us to deal the fact we are shortly about to lose our two best offensive players by going out and signing a defender we don't need and who arguably is no better than we already have. Still no doubt it will enable our manager to make an excuse when Mahrez goes to Liverpool and we don't even try and get involved by saying he was tied up signing Evans and so he couldn't be in two places at once.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 15:20:51
Arsenal will sign mahrez this month and that's about it as Sanchez is off to city. They won't sign Evans as if you look at the squad, he's not needed unless he is looking to offload Mustafi again. I can genuinely only see mahrez signing. I'm guessing the Ed's will know more than me but that's just how I see this window going.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Jan 2018 11:07:53
We have memebers on here moaning about Wenger this and that, and are happy we are looking Evans pmsl, wake up he’s 30 and not good enough we should be looking at much better, and b4 one of you says we ain’t a top 4 team we have had one season out and you think we are a mid table team get a grip for gods sake we should be buying atleast 2 world class a year.

Believable1 Unbelievable1

07 Jan 2018 11:35:43
Im glad your not charge of the club. All your years managing at the top flight, not sure why anyone should trust the ability of professionals over the word of might Jelfy. Back to football manager.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 13:06:03
As fans we can be extremely critical of our manager and the purchases made. Of course the vast majority would have liked Van Dijk, but his mind seemed made up to go to Liverpool at a huge fee of £70m ish, which was clearly funded by the sale of their best player to Barca.
Evans is. a decent CB, possibly better than any of our current options at CB and at £20m ish, even at 30, not too dear in today's market. Which alternatives are available in this window and at what cost?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 13:13:02
When we are buying players of the calibre of mustaffi, mert, chambers, holding, gabriel and evans, don't expect to get back into the top four. Please don't moan that we are not good enough. These players are not top players.

Agree2 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 13:34:50
Mustafi and Mertesacker were both top World Cup winning defenders bought in their prime. Chambers was brought to the club as a young English teenage talent and Holding was another English youngster brought in, both have represented England.
Gabriel was doing well in Spain when we signed him. Guardiola has also reportedly chased Evans and he is clearly a good judge of talent.
My gripe would be more about our defensive tactics and layout. I believe Wenger often presses defensively too high up the pitch, uses wide attacking players as wing backs who can't defend (Gibbs and Bellerin) , hasn't played proper DM's since the days of Vieira, Peteit and Gilberto. Evans will definitely import everything us defensively if signed.

Agree0 Disagree1

07 Jan 2018 14:25:02
Jonny Evans went from man u to west brom for a reason. He wasnt good enough.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 14:36:00
It isn't the personnel in defence it is the tactics and the players picked to play out of position which is the source of our defending inadequacies. How do you expect monreal or a kolasniac who are full backs to play in the middle. Chambers isn't a right back. Maitland niles isn't a left back. I could go on but you get the picture.
Wenger and his sidekick bouldy are disgraceful when it comes to defending tactics, weird considering bouldy was one of the famous 5. Play the players where they ply their trade or get in people who are centre halves instead of putting square pegs in round holes.
Evans might be a good centre half but with proper defending coaches ( please get martin keown) he could be even better.
Spending big money doesn't always guarantee top defenders if the coaching is She*p.

07 Jan 2018 14:52:54
KDB, salah and lukaku all left Chelsea for a reason.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - They all left for different and very valid reasons.}

07 Jan 2018 15:06:30
They left because tbey were not getting in. They are all younger as well, so open to improvement, which i think they all have done. Tbey are the types of players we should be buying, not jonny nearly over the hill. I might be wrong but wasnt all of them bought for around 30 mil and are now worth double or triple their worth.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - No that is not why they left.}

07 Jan 2018 15:27:28
Ed none of them were regulars and all left to play. There may have been other reasons but they weren't playing.

Agree1 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Lukaku wasn't even at Chelsea when they decided to sell him becaus eof an "incident". And there were very good reasons the others left as well. You probably want to drop this as I guess you simply don't understand Steve.}

07 Jan 2018 15:43:25
Yes i understand ed.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - If it were not a public forum I would explain what happened with each.}

07 Jan 2018 15:48:18
I'm interested then, Out of curiosity, Is it new players we need to sort the defence out. or a new manager/ coach? I don't think 25-30 mil is worth it for Evans. But i don't care about the finances seeing as though Arsenal hardly ever spend the money banded about they get in.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 16:42:31
Sorry ed my point was aimed at steve saying they left a big club for not been good enough. I don't know what the situation was regarding their departure from the club but it was a sarcastic statement that was basically the blind leading the blind mate. Lots of players leave top clubs for whatever reason and become in demand at big clubs later in their careers.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 16:51:38
Steve U. You have fans who say we don't spend than you have fans that say we pay too much. They are usually the same fans. Forget about the money. I think Evans would be a good signing.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jan 2018 17:59:23
Nottingham Forest beat Arsenal and scored 4 goals. I Still think Evans might come in handy lol.

It would have been 6, you say your glad Iam not in charge of the club when I want better players than Jonny Evans, so we need to praise the lord your aren't then as we would have a back four of Jonny Evans and god knows who else 🙈🙈🙈, what a silly reply and well said steve r.
