Dags, the other day you said you were going to start being a proper arse to us liverpool lot this season; I wanted you to know I forgive you, and when I hit the lottery here soon (they keep telling me I'm close) I'm going to buy you all tickets to an arsenal liverpool game, including ed025 even though he's the double whammy arsenal-Everton supporter, and y'all can show me this negative nancy country of yours that we split apart from in 1776. (It's been July 4th week and it's been fun). It's always been my plan to spend a year in retirement in England but seeing as I'm 30 years away from that, and the way you guys drink, thag could be pushing it.

Anyways, if it's war you want, it's war you'll get! (Unless I hit the lottery). I think the money spent would be worth seeing your faces after another big win anyways! Cyall, or cheers as you persons say it.

Lol TJ,

Last season I got a lot of stick, as did yourself, Reet, Jenny Taylor, G62, Tommy and a few of the others, for creating an Arsenal/Liverpool love-in.

It was all just mutual respect but some people had a bit of a moan, and that's fair enough as its a banter site.

So, this season, I'm going to give you boys a bit of stick, all good harmless banter.

TJ, If you win the lottery and come to England, give me a shout and I will help you spend some of your US Dollars on Lager, kebabs and pie and mash, so much better than the junk food you get in the USA, lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Sorry to be the one to break it to you, Dags, but the LFC fans have dumped you and have already started patronising Southampton fans about how they loved watching them last season and the sanctimonious good luck messages for next season blah blah....
They seem to have taken the hump over Sanchez so that should make things interesting, not only did their main man Suarez want to join Arsenal last summer their main target this year, and Suarez's replacement, feels the same way!}

Dags ignor this guy! he's a utd supporter u know!

we loved having u guys on our site I was just coming over here to say how frikin scared of arsenal i'm gunna be this season!

can u imagine if u stayed injury free
with sanchez in there to.

talk of you guys signing bender aswell, that's the one thing u were missing last year a proper DM.

good luck!

Ed7 be nice!

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - I'm a Utd supporter that's followed Celtic home, away and abroad for over 30 years. Have you got your LFC/Arsenal half & half scarf ready for next season?}

08 Jul 2014 02:36:19
Sounds good mate. You bloody gooner. I'm getting good at this British thing.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2014 03:34:06
Still dumbfounded why fans of other clubs feel the need to post on our page

Slag off

{Ed007's Note - I'm an editor, I can do what I want! ;)

08 Jul 2014 08:05:50
Thanks Ed007,
This season should be very interesting.
Have already heard Liverpool are thinking of changing their name to Liverhampton.

Thanks TJ and Benny.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - I love how Ed007 has the gall to criticise others when he has multiple teams he supports! Must be difficult supporting a team no one gives a monkeys about I guess, so he has to follow other teams to get anyone to bother talking to him. I suppose it is ok all the Man Utd fans patronise him about Celtic, because at least someone is pretending to care then about the SPFL......}

08 Jul 2014 09:12:29
Ed007, you sound just like my wife. You're not her are you?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - You wish! I'm well out your league.}

I can understand it though ed01.

Being from Belfast, there is huge support for the OLD FIRM teams in Northern Ireland (connected to our political situation)

I like to think that Arsenal our in my heart and Rangers are in my blood.

He couldn't have picked two worse teams though :p lol

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - Is that Rangers or the new The Rangers/Sevco?}

Lol ed 07

Its been a few years now and that one still hurts

Arsenal have tonight completed the signing of Mathieu Debuchy.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2014 22:22:47
Every time I look at the odds on the Sanchez transfer the odds for him to join us are drifting big time (1/8 last night, now only 1/3) yet Juventus are getting shorter & shorter now just 2/1 (9/1 last night). Got a "Higuain" feeling about this.
What's your thoughts Ed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - well if there was a 2 horse race, and one was 1/3..and one 2/1...which one would you back crookster?..

07 Jul 2014 22:41:02
If Arsenal are involved and they are red hot favourites?

I would back the outsider mate.

Agree0 Disagree0

2/1 for a bit of value ed! Don't take any notice of odds

Agree0 Disagree0

Ed25 you backing us to get Sanchez?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - i think there is a great chance jonny..

07 Jul 2014 21:46:40
Where is Wengerism guys?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2014 22:34:58
I think he took a lot of stick, some of it very unfair, and disappeared about 10 months ago.

Shame, I quite liked him. He took as much stick over his love for Arsene as I do over Remy, lol.

Ed's,

Just out of curiosity, who comes up with the Poll of the day questions, across all sites?

The reason I ask, and I always look at the questions across all sites, is they are always damn fine and relevant questions.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - thats ED001 dags...but dont tell him as his head is already big enough mate.. :)

07 Jul 2014 22:36:01
Bless his cotton socks.

Is that what she said also ed?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 21:37:26
Giroud will always do his best for Arsenal and I admire his hard work and devotion. But then again, a three legged horse can only do so much, we need an upgrade!

Enough said!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i once had a 3 legged donkey...i called him..wonkey..

07 Jul 2014 22:38:45
Tad unfair Rue.

He scored 17 in his maiden season and 22 last season.

I'm sure there's more to come from Olly.

Agree0 Disagree0

Very unfair, upfront on his own, he did well

Agree0 Disagree0

Its not the goals he scores, its the ones he misses. Yep he'd a wonkey.

Agree0 Disagree0

Dags, I mean ed025 are you Dags in disguise?

07 Jul 2014 21:35:05
Hi fellow Gooners! Lots of big names being thrown around. Just wanted to find out, are you excited or are you EXTREMELY excited by the rumours? :)

Here is to hoping

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I'm a little excited but don't want to get over confident as I do most years and get egg on my face so i'm guessing i'm inbetween atm.

if Debuchy joins, his wife will be replacing our own Ludivine Sagna, but Ludivine Debuchy isn't as amazing unfortunately,
hopefully the same won't be said about Mathieu himself!

Anyone else of the opinion that Liverpool will suffer the Suarez effect, just as Spurs did with Bale?

Selling the player who carried them last season and replacing them with players of a lower standard and untried players.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed025's Note - i really hope so greeny..

07 Jul 2014 21:59:06
Yep,

I think Liverpool will suffer from 'Bale' syndrome, add the fact they will have to contend with European football next season.

Gonna be a tough season for them, but also for us.

Agree0 Disagree0

Spurs relied on bale alot, while liverpool will still tick without suarez, only difference being with the added champions league, their squad depth will be compromised.

while if we add alexis sanchez, a DM we are linked with, and some depth like remy, backup GK and CB I think we are good enough to contend for the title. perhaps not favourites but in a better position. while Manchester United will look to come back into top 4, the 4th place trophy is going to be a coveted spot from now on.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 22:09:24
Without a doubt

It's an awful move for them

Suarez is a top 5 player in the world

Agree0 Disagree0

We can only hope they suffer from it!

Agree0 Disagree0

Few clubs benefit from losing their best player, it does happen Everton were better without Rooney and utd won the treble when they lost ince and kanchelskis and? Prompting The famous you win nothing with kids qoute from Allen Hansen.
But most sides suffer big time from losing big players

Agree0 Disagree0

Liverpool are gone if hannibal is gone.

Anyone feel that the Sanchez deal has a touch of the Higuain about it?

Higuain: Odds on to join us with any bookies.
Sanchez: See above.

Higuain: Fee agreed, personal terms "agreed in principle" shirt number allocated rumours.
Sanchez: See above.

Everything seemed in our favour and we didn't even care that Napoli were keen as we are The Arsenal and that will have the edge.

We all know what happened next. Napoli outbid us by a lorry load of Euros and we ended up disappointed until Mesut Ozil rocked up to quieten the discontent.

I just hope we pull Sanchez off (not in a sexual way obviously) I just think he'l be a world beater for us!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2014 21:23:05
Will everybody quit with the 'Doom and Gloom' posts please.

PS, love you really though Greeny.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - he would put years on you dags...but i can think of worse things...like being stuck in a lift with you and remy.. :)

It looks like we've done everything right this time Greeny, met the asking price without haggling and no doubt offers the best wages we can.
Now its up Sanchez, if wants to join us I'm supatastic chuffed to me happy bones but if he don't a prefers juve then that's ok I didn't want him anyway because he's got bad taste,

REET

As you are living on past memories

Remember a chap called Thomas at Anfield in '89

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Yes and I also remember many other players that year. It was a great year, I take it you mean beating the pool.

I still have the Arsenal VHS video of that seaon it was awesome.

Had some great players back then also.

P.S. i'm at least not living in the past and am guessing you are talking about the negativity on the forums. Don't worry it will pass it allways does.

It's a frustrating time of year and ALL of us want thest for Arsenal so a little anxiousness is to be expected.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 20:07:45
Hello fellow Gooners

Not going to talk about all the reports out about those 3 players.

Just watched the new video on Arsenal.com, Puma. The road to Arsenal and have to say It made me smile. the futrue is bright I feel :D

Also I have to take my hat off to the Boss! Wenger has been chilling out at the World Cup in Brazil, Playing football on the beach, doing interviews in his Arsenal trackies and going for dinner with Vieiri, Veron and Cannavarro in his Arsenal training top :) What a legend :) What a down to Earth dude. he loves Arsenal more than the fans!

The new Era is just around the corner and Wenger knows it

Im sorry but have to :) Bender, Ramsey, Ozil, Sanchez, Walcott, Giroud. Tasty!

Peace out

As a Madrileno at heart, we lost a legend today

An absolute blessing to this game we love

Personally I believe the funeral should be held after Sunday so the Argentina National Team and Federation, as well as FIFA, can be there to pay their respects

Alfredo di Stefano, his legend will never be forgotten

Hala Madrid!

I always think "I'd have love to have been able to watch players like Pele, Zico, marradona, Garrincha, beckenbauer, charlton. And one name that goes above the rest in my opinion was Di Stefano, legends don't come much bigger than this god of football.

I've no need to write down the accomplishments that the great man achieved.

Rest in peace Don Stefano and thank you.

Man was a Legend.

5 times Euro Champion, scored in all 5 finals I think, and 8 times La Liga Champion.

Absolute Legend.

Don't mean to get Political but players of today should take a leaf out of his book.

Ed02thanx for my earlier rumour reply? Ed02 do you have any latest news regarding Sanchez and debuchy? Thanx I will really appreciate urcreply

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - Nothing has changed. Barcelona are still seeing if anyone else will match the asking price.

This confuses me Ed. Did Arsenal match the asking price or are Barca waiting to see if they can get more elsewhere?

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed002's Note - Why is it confusing? Anyone who offers the asking price will be allowed to talk to the player. The kid is on vacation now, and I rather suspect Arsenal will be his second choice but JUve will need to horse trade to get their man.}

07 Jul 2014 19:35:12
does this mean juve are his 1st choice then ed? don't get why he'd rather go back to serie a than the premier league

Agree0 Disagree0

I'll tell you what's confusing.

If I go to sell a car and someone comes to view it. Offers me what I want for it i'm not going to turn to them and say "That's brilliant mate but i'm going to wait to see if the guy down the road offers me the same money before I sell."

If the barca decision is purely to give sanchez as many choices as possible then ok but to me it always appears like they will do anything in their power to hinder Arsenal.

I know this is a reply to a post but i'm going to throw in a cheeky question for you as I hear your the ed 'ITK' and wanna hear your views.

In your opinion, are relationships strained between AFC & FCB?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 19:56:09
Then it's time for Arsenal to act like a big club and tell Barca to shove it where the sun don't shine

Every time we negotiate, they get their way

Well enough is enough

I own a business. Negotiations with open ended time tables are a disaster.

Put a window on the offer and then it's gone.

This has gotten ridiculous

My God Arsenal, hire a damn General. Manager and replace Law

How hard is this?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 21:36:00
Totally agree USG.

I'm not saying this is the case this time, but totally pissed off with Arsenal running around, doing all the leg work, only for another team to jump in at the last minute and snatch the player from under our nose.

I'm not particularly blaming the 3rd club, eg when Napoli signed Higuain, I'm blaming Arsenal/Arsene.

Just get in, offer the going rate, sign the player and get the hell out again.

Job done.

Like I said, I'm not saying that's the case this time round, but why does it always take us so damn long to sign a player?.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 17:55:18

any other transfer, in or out, regarding Arsenal other than the obvious like Sanchez and Debuchy?

Q
Why are many on here expecting announcement of new signings once the Puma day has passed?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

So they can be presented with them holding the shirt

Agree0 Disagree0

Its called hope Banbury mate, someone said it and it seemed to make sense so we've all clung onto it like gold dust :-) its much easier to believe than the alternative and healthier too

Agree0 Disagree0

That doesn't make sense, I don't go along with that, players can be put on show in jeans and a T Shirt. Me thinks some on here are kidding themselves

So Arsenal have said they will have a big announcement of 'new' players after the Puma launch have they?

IMO

I Think G62 is nearer to the mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's an idealist dream. The start of a new era with Puma after 20yrs with Nike.

It will be a nice touch to see Alexis Sanchez parading a spankingly new number 9 shirt for Arsenal on the same day that Debuchy parades the 2 shirt and Khedira parades his new (whatever bloody number he wants) shirt.

I digress.

Let's all remember that LAST season we waited with baited breath for a marquee to accompany the launch of last seasons kit. Instead we had Wilshere and Walcott et al parading our new shirts in front of the Armoury.

Just saying!

07 Jul 2014 15:45:30
Eds do you think that sanchez will be an arsenal player before the end of the week? Cheers

{Ed027's Note - I'd think and hope so

07 Jul 2014 15:14:20
Been reading some sour replies from liverpool fans regarding Sanchez, slagging off our club and tradition, quite funny really when you take in to account that they have never won a premier league title and have only just managed to get back into the champions league this year.A club steeped in history yes but football is changing and maybe it's our time, with some decent signings who knows? Good work eds up the gunners

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Just remember 5-1

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2014 17:43:05
Steeped in history, tradgedy and some very poorly behaved fans.

Agree0 Disagree0

And Sanchez still turns you down.

Agree0 Disagree0

Yeah 5-1, and then Arsenal beat you twice last year. with Giroud as our striker

Agree0 Disagree0

Look at the liverpool fan getting on his high horse one season, we will see how you get on next year. We beat you twice and what arsenal generally get smashed by the big teams, mostly due to themselves no offence some taken lol. Let me see 30m odd for Sanchez 25m llalanna you mugs, no decent players want to live in liverpool fact.
Stecfc92

Agree0 Disagree0

Just Remember? Just remember F.A. Cup winners. A competition we put you out off ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

One little (well not so little) scoreline and you sll explode
Kust kidding guys
although to the op which liverpool site have you been reading?

Agree0 Disagree0

I can't see anything like the post you mention on the Liverpool page Devon?

Agree0 Disagree0

Just replied to reets post told them to get over Sanchez not being interested in liverpool not being the attraction anymore and to get over it and move on lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Devon we've failed to win a competition in existence for 23 years, yet you've failed to win a competition that's been in existence for 60-70 years, you know the one we've won five times?

Stecfc92, Sanchez will be on around £200k a week, whereas Lallana is on about £50k a week, we're not all bankrolled by a oilgarch/mob boss.

Agree0 Disagree0

My dads bigger than your dad, this is getting silly

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed025's Note - your right G62..

Ha always the past, and lots of luck, but yes you have done well in Europe. As for the 200k a week don't think so my friend we don't pay those wages like you lot paid Dracula lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol aye its a wee bit silly. BUT THEY STARTED IT! What about your man at the end there pulling contract figures (he doesn't have) out his bum? ;)

Agree0 Disagree0

McRonald the CL started in 1992 not 1944

Agree0 Disagree0

Just remember Liverpool fans, we beat you 6-3 at anfield. You paid £35million for andy Carroll lol

Agree0 Disagree0

Lol yes bit silly but nice one ulster lol

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2014 00:58:37
Anfield, '89. Say no more.

Agree0 Disagree0

Bit dense ulster, I said European cup which started in 1954 if memory serves right.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed007's Note - It was the 55/56 season the EC started. You must have the worst memory of any LFC fan, usually their history is bang on, after all it's all they've got now and they do tend to go on, and on, and on about it.}

McRonald:
"Sanchez will be on around £200k a week, whereas Lallana is on about £50k a week, we're not all bankrolled by a oilgarch/mob boss."

In what way am I dense suggesting you've fabricated these figures?

Away back to your history books son, your lack of intelligence is showing

Top quality Latin American attracker is linked with Arsenal. Plays for one of the biggest clubs in Spain and was one of the top scorers in the team.

Linked with Arsenal for several weeks only to make a last minute switch to join an Italian Team.

Sanchez = Higuain.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Very true Billybob this rings alarm bells

Agree0 Disagree0

To my knowledge higuan was a nearly done deal price etc agreed, then real realised napoleon were interested and had some seriously deep pockets after the sale of cavalier so stuck an extra 10 mil on. We had to match it, and didn't. Simple as.

The sanchez deal is completely different.

Agree0 Disagree0

Not to mention Mata! (yes I know he's not South American/didnt go to Italian club but you get my drift. ) NO WAY am I getting excited until the club announces anything!

07 Jul 2014 13:56:56
So we've agreed the fee for Sanchez and now it's down to personal terms, how long do these arrangements normally take out of curiosity? because if I understand it Barca will pay cash money for Suarez so surely they would want Sanchez gone ASAP so they can pay for Suarez? I know Juve have an interest and according to reporters Barca want to get there bid too but surely it's first come first serve ain't it lol? Barca "We want £34million for him" arsenal "ok we will pay that" Barca "wait I hear that Juve are interested so let see what they offer" don't make sense to me lol that's like selling something on eBay with a buy it now price but waiting to see how many people want to buy it even if someone's already clicked buy it now lol odd

Believable0 Unbelievable0

As they know they will definately get Suarez it makes sense to me to see who will bid the highest for Sanchez, surely?
why ship him to the first bidder just because they have met the asking price, plenty of time left for Barc to wheel and deal

Agree0 Disagree0

It could be that the player wants to go to juventus, so if juve match the offer we are likely left in no mans land.

i think even if they offer 4-5 mill less, and barca accept it will be because sanchez wants to go to juve over Arsenal

Agree0 Disagree0

Seems strange that Barca are waiting for Juve when it is reported that Juve are struggling financially and considering selling Pogba or Vidal to balance the books.

Agree0 Disagree0

{Ed001's Note - considering selling to invest money in other players, not balancing books.}

07 Jul 2014 12:23:35
Eds, I never get too excited until done and dusted, but it seems from what I hear and read that moves for Sanchez and Debuchey are progressing well

Of the other names being thrown around are any realistic possibilities

Kheidra
Remy
Valdes
Bender
Cuadrado

Believable0 Unbelievable0

Lol you are excited my friend. We all are lol . SANCHEZ.!

i think I speak for everyone here, cannot wait for the puma launch so signings can be unveiled afterwards!

im going to stick my neck out and say I do genuinly belive giroud will come good long term. he's shown consistant improvement over the time he's been here and imo is the exact type of striker we need.

benzema or lewendoski or zlatan would be the only improvements i'd take to fit in with our system really who are better than him already, and alll aren't really available.

i don't think mandzukic is anything special personally.

sanchez theo, ranmsey all feeding off ozils playmaking from girouds hold up play is something I cannot wait to see!

viva la arsenal

Lukaku! 21 years of age has 34 goals in the prem over 2 seasons with mediocre teams. He would be a beast for us and wants regular game time at a top club

Agree0 Disagree0

I'd love to get Lukaku Sheeny but would they sell to us? And if so how much!more would we have to pay than anyone else for him?
Remember how they tried to cut us out of our % in the Cesc deal.

Agree0 Disagree0

Sheeny bit disrespectful calling everton a mediocre team.when u consider our wage and transfer budget over the last decade were overachieving a hell of a lot more than yourselves! If anything given the circumstances I would say arsenal are the mediocre team.

Hi Ed, just seen a picture on twitter of Sanches having a medical, is this for Arsenal? and if do is the deal going to be announced soon?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed002's Note - I am not going to answer questions about Twitter

The pic doing the rounds on the internet is apparently the one from the time he did one for barcelona.

Agree0 Disagree0

Apparently gunners89 this was an old picture of his medical when signing for Barca

Agree0 Disagree0

Its is the pic from his Barca medical. I think some over excited fans or some bookies upto some tricks.

I wonder if the news that Ajax have a sell on fee percentage that they get from suarez the reason why liverpool are asking for the release clause, also the complicated matter means we can't complete sanchez until barca get suarez, so effectively keeping him on the market long enough for other interested parties to come in and take the player from right under our nose.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

I read somewhere that they have a 25% sell on clause. I'm not sure if it's true or not.

Agree0 Disagree0

I read that too, hence they got him for the price they did apparently a few year back. I wonder if someone can confirm this if they know about this.

Deal for Lars Bender is on again? That's fantastic! He's the big presence in midfield we need but he also offers something when going forward. I don't think we need a pure dm. I'd rather play how City played last season with two cm's playing box-to-box role. We have Ramsey, Bender, Wilshere and Chamberlain who can play that role and that would be a brilliant core for our midfield. Arteta, Flamini and Diaby will provide solid cover.

Sanchez, Bender, Debuchy are currently linked with us quite heavily. Then if we can add a good gk and a cb I think we have enough for a serious title challenge.

Didn't Fernandinho play a purely defensive riles for them last year? I don't remember seeing him in the box often?

We have met the asking price for Sanchez and its now down to him, I'm tripple happy with that.
We haven't messed about with trying to buy a Ferrari at a fiesta price this time and now it's up to the player, if he chooses juve or city ahead of us then that's his problem.
I only want players who want to be with us and don't want to be any ones second chioce let alone third

Assuming we sign Sanchez, Bander & Debauchy for a combined £60m, who do you think we will sell? We still need a keeper, at least one centre back (possibly two, if Vermaelen is sold) and I can't believe we will bring in 5 or 6 first team players, if we don't sell. Keeper-wise I don't think we will spend big, low cost or on a free and a centre back will be bought with the proceeds of the sale of Vermaelen, assuming he is sold.
I think we may consider selling Podolski (approx £15m), Djourou (£3m), leaving a deficit of approx £42m.
It would be great to see promising youngsters make further progress this season. These include Gnabry, Sanogo & Zelalem.

Sanogo needs a fair few loans before he will be ready!

G95 - I think you are being a bit harsh on Sanogo. When he came on against Hull in the FA Cup final, he changed things. He is young and given the chance he has all the attributes to become a top player.

Keylor Navas, debuchy, alderwield (spelling) from athletico Madrid, khedira and Sanchez.

Sounds good to me. Come on Wenger make it rain.

Ed, regarding defensive midfielders, who is Arsenal's first choice: Khedira, Bender, or Schneiderlin? if you don't know, who do you think would be?

{Ed027's Note - I believe it is 1. Bender ( cooled interest after he stated he wouldn't leave Germnay, but looks like its hotting up) 2. Khedira ( 002 has said weve been keeping a watchful eye on him) 3. Schniderlin ( seems to be the fallback option, so be it a very good one, I think the club will look for a bigger name first)

This is our number one position to fill and I'd be happy with any of the above, Flamini showed in the first half of last season what a difference a DMF made to us, this time we must do the job properly and get the best we can for this role
