Sky sports are showing their love for Man Utd again, they didn't even finish in the top 4 and are getting shown 4 times by the end of August whilst the winners Leicester are being show only twice and second place Arsenal once!

Biggest tv audience? Meaning most lucrative commercially to show United games?

Not that I think it should be that way mind! But I'm guessing its a financially motivated decision.

08 Jul 2016 06:48:42
Mourinho new signings so there will naturally be lots of interest in utd early doors, plus last season they showed 4 of our 5 opening games so we more than anyone can't complain.

Will Girouds successful partnership with Griezman change Arsene thinking on how we play or will he stick to what he thinks is the right way for us to play?
He changed his mind about us needing a DM eventually and now can't stop buying them so will he more open to another change of plan after the Euros?

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 22:30:30
No he'll just buy more Giroud's so say hello to out new marquee signing André-Pierre Gignac!

Pep
Conte
Poch
Bilic
Koeman
Klopp
Mourinho. where do we fit in? Will we be able to finish the season above these managers?
How exciting this coming season is going to be.
Are we prepared enough as a club?

Believable0 Unbelievable0

{Ed033's Note - You'd think Arsenal can finish in 4th or 5th place in the Premier League.

07 Jul 2016 17:57:22
I predicted 2nd last season, but behind City not Leicester, this season I'm going for 7th.

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 17:59:08
We stand as good a chance as any of winning this year, it has the potential to be the closest title race ever.

All the teams still need signings but even with the squad we have now we should still make top 4.

Agree0 Disagree3

07 Jul 2016 18:21:00
I should think we'd finish in top 3 again.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Jul 2016 18:40:42
You will be fighting for 4 th place along with spurs, Liverpool, west ham and maybe Everton. Man Utd, nan city and Chelsea will be on another level this year due to 3 world class managers and the endless spending power they have. Just look at Utd today they are paying 100 million for pogba.

Agree4 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 19:00:30
As everything stands right now for me it's
Chelsea
City
Utd
Arsenal
Obviously lots can and will change between now and kick off in August but I just can't see how we are going to be any more effective at taking chances or stopping the opposition than we were last season.
As said long way to go yet and we could pull off some stunning signings :-) or lose Mesut Sanchez or both :- (

Agree3 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 19:32:36
Currently id say we are battling 4th out with Spuds and possibly W Ham.

Nobody has Leicester figures - I have us first with a EPL/ FA double and a deep run in the CL. let's get it started!

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 20:53:47
Agree to some extent raver, I have my suspicions about pogba and man u. For the last three years they have "tried " to sign the unsignable ie ronaldo, bale, neymar and now pogba. He wants real not man u I just think its sabre rattling. Man u don't like that Barcelona real and bayern are seen as bigger clubs and it irks them.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 23:59:35
How nice would it be if we won it with all these managers here.2/ 3 signings, then we should be contenders no matter who the other teams sign. hope Wenger wins it, he's being insulted from everywhere. Would b like a slap on their faces. let's remain hopeful n see.

Agree0 Disagree2

08 Jul 2016 01:02:35
Why don't we just enjoy Arsene Wengers final year at the helm of our club.
Forget about winning or losing because Whatever happens this coming season at the end we will be waving goodbye to one of the best managers our era has encountered.
Let's sing the mans name and embrace it. This is at the end of the day the man who dedicated his life to our club, Upped the ante and made the league as exciting as it is. let's show Arsene that we are grateful for all he has given us and who knows with that kind of atmosphere Maybe just maybe something so extraordinarily special can happen.

Agree0 Disagree1

08 Jul 2016 01:12:04
Woah you guys are defeatist today! You surely should be looking to buy a top quality striker and CB (nothing has changed there) and who knows what will happen on front but I expect Arsene to accomplish top 4 as usual. Remember that many of those managers will be in their first season and some don't have epl experience so I could see a 2nd or 3rd place finish. Although I do struggle to see you guys as champions again under Wenger. I understand that won't get many excited but I don't see you struggling for 4th as some predicted.

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2016 01:20:03
Oh and there's no doubt that Pogba wants Real. If we do manage to bring him in it will be because we've paid an incredible amount of money to Juve and Raiola, not something I'd be particularly proud of but if he came and played well I guess I'd get over it with time!

Agree0 Disagree0

08 Jul 2016 02:29:06
I've supported Wenger for a long long time but to suddenly believe he is now in his final year going to do what he hasn't done before is grasping at straws.

Failure last season not only in the league but in the transfer window should have been enough to make him walk.

It really was shameful. Yes it's his final year and no I expect nothing because he will not do what is required to make the difference.

I think his last year could be his worst, I'll still be behind the team because it's Arsenal. But for the first time I have absolutely zero expectations.

Agree2 Disagree0

08 Jul 2016 04:41:24
Strong words stoner but I agree entirely. The guy is way out of tune with the fans and the premier league and how to win it.

Agree1 Disagree0

08 Jul 2016 07:13:08
Stoner surely actually grasping at straws is bêtter than endless pretending to chase rainbows that had absolutely no intention of putting in an appearance over the Emerirates.
I'm far more happy that we made Leicester an offer they accepted and we actually sat down with Vardy than reading about Benzema and Higuain having at medical at the Emerirates while somehow managing to simultaneously be photographed on a beach somewhere.
I'd much rather sit down to egg and chips the missus cooked than keep looking out the window waiting for Michel Rod Roux to turn up with a 5 star meal on a silver dinner set.

No doubt pep et al will have some tricks up their sleeves, but simply Getting a brilliant manager didn't propel LFC to the top last season.

We were close last season, so plenty of reason to be hopeful. AFC fans can't buy the players or set the tactics, but we can go into every game 100% behind the team. Clapping the effort and willing them on, not waiting to groan at the first missed pass and saying I told you so - for me that will make it a self-fulfilling prophecy.

We've got a 1 in 20 chance like the rest of the teams. Plus a squad that know they were close, have belief having beaten the champions and the other big clubs, and will be hungrier to win. All we can do is get behind them. COYG.

Rumour: Arsenal linked with Djibril Sidibé.

This feels like an "Arsenal" Signing.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 18:45:30
Only 23, can play either left or right back comfortably, Monaco apparently already agreed a relatively low fee with Lille, which reportedly sprung us into action.

It does have a touch of Arsene about it.

Ed,

Any truth to the Draxler story? Or is it just media bluster?

Thanks!

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 13:22:02
Hoping that we are a little quiet because our CD, Winger and CF are still playing in the Euros so don't want to be distracted.
Here's hoping
Williams - just exited from euros
Draxler
Lacazette

Ed - am I close?

Believable0 Unbelievable1

07 Jul 2016 14:13:54
i can't see draxler happenung, but id be happy with a swap deal for Mata! More Feasible as lower cost, mata likely to be open to/ have to leave, and man u could get a homegrown player? Instant Impact more likely for us too? Guessing José wouldn't risk strengthening us again though.

Real want £75 mil for morata that's way too much I think £40 mil is max what we should pay maybe if they buy pogba they will need some cash.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 13:12:29
Perhaps. Seems strikers price tags have doubled this summer.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 13:15:34
If we buy draxler I don't see Arsenal getting a striker, last summer wenger looked at him as a striker but he went to Wolfsburg.

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 13:40:24
£75 million seems a bit steep. But then again, quality strikers are in short supply these days so I guess this is the range that we have to consider if we are to get a quality player.
Is Morata worth that, I am not sure?

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 12:22:46
Saw Thierry saying he feels Arsenal should play 2 up front so.

Believable0 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 13:11:54
Didn't mean to send that lol. Was going to say to get the best of giroud. I've often thought he'd be great with another forward as he has shown over the euros. But Is it worth changing our tactics?

07 Jul 2016 14:26:06
Yeah it is!

07 Jul 2016 14:37:04

Thierry is just copying the magical Dags :-)

Agree1 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 15:11:51
I've been saying it for a while. Giroud is extremely good at holding the ball up and winning aerial battles. Would be great someone along side him with opposite qualities.

07 Jul 2016 10:59:53
I think the way mourinho described Zlatan and Micky, best describes what us Arsenal fans are after:
"Instant Impact".

Now that never be guaranteed (nothing can! ) , but these are our expectations.

Mourinho.

"Wayne Rooney will never be a six. He will be a nine or a ten, but not a six or eight".

What a wally.

Although I share a little of the frustration that after getting Xhaka early we seem to have fallen away as others do their business, I do appreciate that it is early days. Mkhitaryan would have been a great signing and probably achievable. We have struggled on the right side for years due to the lack of progress of TW and the Ox. We were right to persevere as both had massive potential. The flip side is we have not had room to consider guys like Douglas Costa, Willian etc. over the years both of whom were a snip compared to current market price. Willian would be perfect in our set up.
I don't think the squad has been recycled well over recent years and has led to a high number of players probably not good enough or not likely to make the level we want. We lack freshness and only a couple of strong signings will change that. We know AW is loyal and to a point that's great. However, a little ruthlessness would have left us in a better position I think.

Believable1 Unbelievable0

07 Jul 2016 11:04:55
Good point on recycling. I think it's good to keep the core of the squad together. But injury=prone or players on the sidelines need to go. Otherwise the squad lacks competition for spaces and instead everyone gets complacent.

Agree0 Disagree0

07 Jul 2016 09:52:41
Deals are extremely difficult to complete. In any event, if we look at the current squad, it is quite full and we really only require a striker, as Welbeck will be out for most of next season. Of course this depends on departures and upgrades on current players.
G: Assuming we keep either Ospina or Szczesny, then we are sorted.
Defence: If Debuchy returns then we are sorted. Although, ideally I would like Subotic and allow Chambers out on loan for a season. I would also like Rodriguez at LB, with Monreal departing (age and takes a foreign place, so would retain Gibbs) .
DM: Since signing Elneny and Xhakka, we are sorted.
WM: Sorted.
AM: Sorted.
A: Need a quality striker; Lukaku would be my choice or Morata.

Agree0 Disagree2

07 Jul 2016 07:40:54

Is he worth the supposed £250K a week that he wanted from West Ham? A fantastic player but he'll be turning 33 soon. Albeit he's still the player he was at City and Juve (strong, fast, clinical) . Can't imagine Bocca would ask too much for him though.
